Hello,

Hello,
With my wife, we had a wonderful day at the castle, this Thursday 24/10/2019, until 17:30 (arrival around 10:30)
Thanks also to the guide (Dutch mason with a lot of humor). This tour is really a great bonus. Discovery of the mill, top !!
However, you can not fail to report your total disorganization of your two restore points. And yet, it is delicious, and the girl, ONLY present (!!) (to "Minstembec") totally involved and remaining zen (irreproachable attitude).
A queue of at least 100 people for nearly two hours ... INADMISSIBLE !! and it was the same situation (with two / three staff present) at "Bread on the board" (hot dishes).
Are your managers aware of this catastrophic management ?? !!
Really a point to improve for a site so great to visit.
In advance thank you, good luck.

Rather disappointed with this visit. Of course the idea is superb, the reception very good. However, I find the price really exaggerated compared to the visit. 14 full price (for comparison Versailles Palace + Garden is 20). For this price, only the visit is included. Workshops, guided tours, everything requires paying extra. In addition, once inside, there is very little information and explanations displayed, or visible, very annoying for a site with a primarily educational vocation.

In short, we feel that there are very good intentions, the organization is good but the content is really not up to the price.

Mixed view: guided tour where you can not hear the guide, the workers who do not answer questions, ... On the other hand, the camp of the small knights was very appreciated by our 2 knights and the chief of the knights put all the world in the mood.

An exceptional experience. But weird in that I found myself being as careful of the structure, which is still being built, as I would of a real 13th castle. It kinda messes with your head a bit. Come well shod because it's a building site. Excellent food facilities inside.

Anyone who has always wanted to know how the ancients were able to build a proud castle complex with few resources: here it can be experienced and grasped. Great archelogy experiment !!! And respect for the many hard-working helpers who contribute every day. A completely different kind of adventure park for children too.

A construction site for building a medieval castle. With medieval techniques!
It is possible to visit the building site, the shops of the various artisans (stonemasons, rope-makers, dyers, carpenters) and the rooms of the castle. Furthermore you can visit the sites where the materials are found (wood, stone) or animals are bred. The workers live there and 2020 is expected to be completed.
It is a fantastic experience, a place out of time, wonderful. Every step is a surprise, I was astonished from beginning to end.

Magnificent achievement and superb educational project !!! My 2 1/2 year old daughter struggled to finish the visit (we didn't take a stroller to be able to visit every nook and cranny) to do and redo to see the progress of the work.

I love spending the day in Guedelon. I go every 2 years to see the evolution. We attended the stonemason workshop. Great for big and small. We can come with the picnic or eat at the restaurant. No water to fill the bottles. I highly recommend this outing.

Beautiful experience that changes the usual castles (finished building). Entrance to 14 + 3 for the visit. In addition to the castle there is a presentation of the different crafts useful to the creation of the castle.

Very informative, congratulations to all those workers who give their knowledge and their time, especially all volunteers (students, employees,) who do not hesitate to come a week to work (breaking stones, learn carpentry ....)
Only small criticism ... On the plan, there are numbers, why not put them on each small house with different trades?

Someone who is interested in castles should definitely look at a castle under construction with the means as there were on average old tools to build etc. I would probably go there again after a few years LG.

Fascinating when you have known the beginnings of this castle: the craftsmen are there to explain their trade to you. Lunch on site or picnic to bring everything is provided for a good day with the family

Discovery of a fortified castle under construction with fun workshops for all stages of construction. Some animals (sheep, horses, donkeys), shows and entertainment. Outings enjoyed by the whole family!

Very interesting archaeological construction site.
Personally I went there twice in 5 years which seems to me to be the right frequency to be able to appreciate the advances in construction.
I would go back before completion

Impressive construction site as it was in the 13th century.
But not only the construction site, also the craftsmen and their guilds are astonishing. This is my second time here. Simply fantastic what they have created here.

An ideal excursion destination, especially for families with children and school classes. However, you should bring some time with you and definitely take the footpath to the old water mill.

I liked the site and the walk in the forest to the mills where there was a passionate and fascinating animator. We had a good time, in the cool.
All that was missing were the troubadours.
Not a very large choice of menus to eat but very good and at an affordable price. I advise!

Such an interesting idea. Trying to build a stronghold in the twenty first century with the technique of the thirteenth seems to be a challenge, but so far they are making it.
You will learn a lot about castle but also plenty of other things. Go there with family, friends or children, if you are a little bit curious it will be worse the ride.

Very pleasant teams, open to all questions.
For all ages.

Visit the last weekend of the holidays of Toussaint for the closing. My advice: really favor periods with the least amount of traffic, days of dry weather and good walking shoes. To avoid for people with reduced mobility and for children too young. The site is "victim" of its success. To have come twice before 2003, I found that there were still many visitors for a period dente hollow. I was disappointed with the size of the visiting groups. This limits the proximity of the beginnings with the guide. Nevertheless, I recommend the guided tour, it is a real plus for the understanding of the site.
Finally, congratulations to all those volunteers without whom this remarkable project would not be!
