Seeing the evolution of this building after several visits (once a year) by volunteers working on materials as at the time is really great. We learn a lot about how our ancestors have evolved.

You had to be crazy to dream of such a project!
But the result is there: to share the pleasure of going back in time with us. Bravo to all the craftsmen for their availability and their courage. The children discovered manual trades which were those of their ancestors, not so distant.
The organizers are kind and the possibility of picnics in comfortable conditions a real plus.
It is a beautiful destination for holidays and the opportunity to discover a region that deserves to be highlighted.

Really not enough entertainment this Saturday, come for the first time with people who know the place, they did not recognize the quality of the entertainment seen in the past.

It remains an interesting place but desperately empty at the moment in terms of the number of visitors and the level of entertainment.

Fantastic place. A group of ambitious people builds a castle in a way that was done in the Middle Ages. In addition, a small village near the castle was recreated, where materials for the castle construction are made, as well as some aspects of life in the Middle Ages. Interesting but sad for me that they do not finish what they started. Finish a tower completely to prevent it from taking rain water and then deteriorating the vaults. It risks cracks and damage before being finished! It is under construction ..... and for a long time ...

I saw the building start in 1997 and since then I go there at least once or twice a year. This year the progression is spectacular. Congratulations to all the team doing a fabulous job and special mention for the charming storyteller miller.

Travel in time worth any documentation. Competent and available companions. To see absolutely and regularly to appreciate the progress of the site.

My kids loved it. The site is interesting to get an idea of the techniques used even if we would like a medieval eco-museum type site showing more the life of the time but it is out of scope for the moment. In any case it is to be done and several times to see the evolution of the site!

A nice place if you are interested in castles and how they are built, as well as some of the other things that often take place in the construction of castles such as. metalwork, clay work, colors, carving etc.
Most signs have descriptions in both French and English.
There is free parking, also an area dedicated to motorhomes (however, accommodation was not allowed). If you have an electric car, there are also some charging stations, but I cannot answer which plugs were.

Always as good, never frozen because in perpetual evolution. The site visit transports you to another time where craftsmanship is highlighted. Craftsmen and workers are ready and not stressed. The shows of the alchemist and his companion in the blue cloud company are really cool and offers a show combining science, juggling, burlesque and clowning of quality.

4 stars because it would be worth telling visitors to bring their picnic because yesterday Thursday 18 we did 1h3 / 4 queue to give up the last moment because it was 14h (time of the guided tour) Guided tour with a super guide but a too many group that left too much waiting for the grouping.
Fortunately we learned a lot from the artisans and volunteers whose explanations were always given with skill and smile

A construction site that we take pleasure in browsing ... it is not every day that we see a castle ... artisans are passionate and just want to share their passion. Workshops for children, a park, a forest, restaurants and picnic areas ... enough to have a great day!

Everything is very well explained by the workers. We learn a lot about trades allowing the construction of the castles of the Middle Ages.
Only downside catering: the quality is there but even going to lunch "late" (1:45 pm) it was 1h tail before reaching the checkout and the choice when arriving was very small. And the prices are also relatively high ( 3.20 for a white cheese, 3.50 for half a drop of fresh organic goat cheese). The best is to bring your own lunch.

Nice visit and competent staff including cutlers and carpenters on the other hand big flat in the restaurant. Very unpleasant brunette waitress ....
