9 years after our first visit. ... so many changes! It's always so captivating, informative and courageous!
Despite the lack of staff and visitors due to the COVID conditions our grandchildren and we ourselves had a great day.
We will come back before the "last stone" whose installation is expected in 2027 to congratulate all those who actively participated in this magnificent project, hoping that this adventure will be widely mentioned in the press and on the air (TV and radio). Well done and thank you for the story.

To see every 4 years the advent of the castle. All work done in the old way. Plan dinner before coming, table and bench available on the site. (3 fast food restaurants, from midday in self service) but expensive not recommended. Good welcome. The history of the construction of this castle and explain it very well with several guides.

This is a nice idea and probably a very nice place to visit when there is no crowd ... But too much is too much and because of the number we go from one workshop to another without seeing anything or hear. It would be necessary to limit a gauge on the site so that everyone can take full advantage of it. Special mention at the mill or after a good 1/4 walk we arrive at a mill perfectly inaccessible because of a crowd too large

Excellent time spent there. The craftsmen are very affable. The facilities are superb. This is great art! It looks like a visit to a real medieval castle with all wooden installations still in condition.

Super interesting tour, guide with good knowledge of the period and a certain sense of humor. Possibility of continuing the visit outside the guided tour but plan to spend the day there.

An original project undertaken by passionate people. Much of the walk is located in the forest. The reconstruction of period trades is very complete and the team is rather welcoming. Everything can be visited fairly quickly. It is always interesting to go there several times to see the evolution.

In 2018:

Superb site!

Superb site!

Construction techniques well presented and explained by teams with excellent pedagogy.

There are enough shaded areas for the big sunny days but in the rain watch out for slips.

Always a superb experience !!!

It is a medieval castle which has been built for 20 years. It is built with the traditional techniques of the medieval period. Very interesting to see and visit. We rub shoulders with all the trades of the time: Stonemasons, Carpenters, Carriers of stones ect ....
The castle should end in 2025!
A place not to be missed !!
Very fun visit.

Very nice experience for young and old. A fun amusement park where knowledge and history are imparted in a fun way. On your next visit you will be amazed at the progress of the castle and the extension of the attractions (info village). Children can attend a workshop in the dooms and learn ancient techniques.
An amusement park you will never get bored.

Passion lives in this castle! Thank you to the craftsmen and builders for their achievement and their kindness. To see and taste until thirsty. But don't forcefully drag the castle will end up being finished.

Exceptional environment, impressive, a trip out of time. What know-how, what cohesion between all the workers, one can only admire the appropriation of the old techniques and this mastery. Thanks to the people who are at work to take the time to explain ... ideal!

The fact of being able to see the construction of a castle according to the techniques of the Middle Ages constitutes a rather exceptional and enriching experience.
The work done by the volunteers is incredible and we also learn about the trades of the time.

This place is a superb reconstruction of the life of the years 1200-1400, for more than 20 years the castle has been built little by little with the tools and methods of the time. The life around the farmers, the making of bread are living examples for our children of what our common life was like over 500 years ago. It is really worth visiting with the family and coming back every 5-10 years to appreciate the evolution of the various constructions.
It is simply beautiful and interesting. Over 100 people are now working there.

The visit is very interesting ... whatever the age. The people who work are very helpful and answer questions; we feel their commitment to the realization of the castle.
A flat, however, a shameless exploitation of the catering staff, 2 people (very brave!) Where there should be 5: balance: 1 hour waiting ... whatever the dish chosen, a real shame!

Great castle to visit (on the same principle as the Hermione) it's very informative you learn a lot of things and of course discussing with the fellow builders is frankly very enriching

And their ham sandwich is a killer (Philippe Auguste) and not expensive

An amazing idea: show former trades and techniques through the construction of a like lower-level middle-age local Lord. Brillant! Not only its helps preserve building techniques of the past it is also a great place of for young appprentices. The guide are passionate and interesting. They sometime lack foreign language abilities. The place may be overcrowded in July-August: in the middle of absolutely nowhere you have a traffic panel: "beware traffic Jam"
