A great experience! A considerable project with very talented and human craftsmen who do not hesitate to answer questions and even call out to curious passers-by who dare not ask them!
I highly recommend this place which is constantly evolving, especially in the castle and which allows us to discover all the period trades that allow its construction through real workshops with their craftsmen in full work :)

It is a place of education, sharing, social, scientific, study, history involvement ... An environment chosen to meet the choices of building a Philippian castle. It represents two years of French architectural history. Recommendation! Go there every ten years and send your friends to immerse themselves !!
Congratulations for this wonderful moment of discovery and for imagining that ancestors lived in such places which led to what we are ...
Respect for the people involved, for the village and the passion.

A rewarding discovery that this medieval castle built with the techniques of the time as far as possible.
A very interesting place to visit and a real dive into the history of the builders of castles.

Interesting how such a castle was built in the earlier years. The day we were there it was very hot and therefore not so many other activities. A bit similar to the Archeon in the Netherlands.

Anyone who has always wanted to know how the ancients were able to build a proud castle complex with few resources: here it can be experienced and grasped. Great archelogy experiment !!! And respect for the many hard-working helpers who contribute every day. A completely different kind of adventure park for children too.

Visit to the school during the month of April was perfect, the guided tour the stone-cutting workshop, the blacksmiths ... except the carpenter who was not pleasant with the children. Too bad they were disappointed on their end of the day because of him.

I had seen this medieval castle on TV, as I was in the area I wanted to see this magnificent building. Work and magnificent. The different trades do not represent volunteers, with the tools of the time which is very instructive for adults and children. It all depends on the stands that are open because they are volunteers and they are not always there. Parking and free and large. There are even recharges for electric cars. Accessible to wheelchairs. To go and see at least once.

This is the third time we have returned (this year was the 20th anniversary of the start of construction), and each time it is a wonder, more than a few years before the end of the construction of the castle!

Cool!

Entrance much too expensive not to see much. Where are the artisans and other people who must be present on the site ???
We saw only 2 workshops, all the others being deserted.
In the middle of the summer season, we make fun of people. I will not talk about the bar, where a very unpleasant person refuses to serve you to drink at 18:20, causes closing 18:30.
These people have a very keen sense of trade!
All this is called scam.
56 euros for 4 people, the bill is salty !!!!

A very nice visit. The price at the entrance is not given. Count 14 euros for an adult. On-site catering is excessively expensive for what is served. Now the place is magic with a construction of the castle started 20 years ago and respecting the constraints of the 13th century.
Guedelon knew to develop all the surroundings of the castle with the various craftsmen necessary for the construction of the castle. The pro are at work while answering your questions. It's really interesting.
The work itself is superb with a building of the lord almost finished.
We can spend the day with a permanent interest.
A must see

Just breathtaking how you can experience the past. The castle is built and expanded using the techniques used in the Middle Ages. The project was started to participate and learn. Those who have the time and inclination can take part and receive further training. At many stations, techniques are also shown how people used to work. The making of bricks, paints, wicker baskets and other materials is shown. There are various options for children, such as horseback riding or participating in a knight tournament. Not to forget that you also have the opportunity to have a picnic on the premises. Of course, you can also enjoy regional products and take care of yourself in the restaurant.

Very interesting visit. Comparable to a 13th century life-size reportage. We don't regret our day. Only small problem that there is no different price depending on the age over 65 and others

Very beautiful castle under construction!

Very beautiful castle under construction!
Everything is handmade, you can spend a good afternoon there without getting bored :)
The workers gladly explain their tasks and show us the work of the past without modern machines.

Great destination! But you should take a whole day including picnic / food on site. Great for kids / families!
It is incredibly interesting to watch a castle being created.
No savings were made on the surroundings. Mill, village, farm, etc.

Multilingual guides.
Tours possible.

It's like time travelling to the Middle Age! Construction for this castle in the style of the 13th century started in 1997 and is still ongoing. All the construction methods, tools, and building material is period accurate. You can walk around the castle and the surrounding worksman village freely or sign up for a guided tour. At different worksites, you can watch builders and craftsmen (and women) go about their trades. Outside of the castle are two restaurants, a picnic area, and a gift shop, where you can buy locally made pottery, among many other gifts. Good footwear is recommended, as the ground can be very muddy - it's the Middle Age after all!

Great
