If you have a chance to stay at the Grove Park Inn...

If you have a chance to stay at the Grove Park Inn, take it! This was my first time being here in over thirty years. The building and staff are excellent. From the valet parking to the elevator operators, the staff are happy to serve guests and display a friendly and professional attitude. The view is unbelievable. Get a reservation for the Edison Restaurant for around one hour before sunset. Relax and enjoy the very well thought out menu. Sip some wine and enjoy the colors explode across the mountains. Try the cheese cake. It's awesome. Have lunch on the main balcony. Get the lobster salad. You can't get that much fresh lobster in a dish for that price outside of Maine.

If you are looking for a retreat to dine, relax, and be pampered, the Grove Park Inn is one of the best East of the Mississippi.

And yes, I said elevator operators. They still have them. Welcome back to 1920.

We stayed in the club room. The room was beautiful, view was fantastic, and service was outstanding. However the included food and drink for the cocktail hour and breakfast was very disappointing. We left it underwhelmed and hungry. Certainly not worth the cost.

Couldn t have had a better experience. They asked us when we arrived if we d like to upgrade to the club floor, which was well worth it. Access the spa/spa gym whenever you like, breakfast, and a happy hour! Best service we ve had in the states. Absolutely spectacular views.

I attended a company conference at the Omni Grove Park Inn. Our conference room was beautiful and the Omni is gorgeous. You have to have to see it to understand how majestic the views are from the back of the hotel. Having a cocktail there makes you feel like you have 'made it'!

As much as I would have liked to post a 5 star rating for the Grove Park Inn, the uncomfortable/extremely soft bed (we even had to switch beds at 1am it was so uncomfortable, only to find the second bed was no better than the first) provided both my wife and I a VERY uncomfortable and disappointing night's rest. I expected so much more from the Grove Park. I was even more amazed when I was informed by the Director of Bedding (I think this was the correct title) at the hotel, that this was the OMNI 'standard' bed. If soft beds are your favorite, you will be happy. If you need or prefer something on the firmer side you may not be so pleased. Views from hotel's terrace and lobby are exceptional, as is the food. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Beautiful resort, spa is awesome , sports complex is separated from hotel it s self so there is some walking required or you can drive. Breakfast buffet was very good with a variety to choose from omelette station, fruits, breads, salmon, Etc. Everyone was very friendly especially our bellman George. He took the time to explain the benefits and history which we appreciated.

For the price of hotel rooms, they were loud. You can hear kids running down the hall, people talking, doors slamming constantly. Lots of additional charges, $15 for self pay parking daily ($22 valet), additional $50 at least between sales tax, occupancy tax, and resort tax daily. Valet and front desk can be a long wait at times.

As a Member of Grove Park and a local Wedding Planner the Grove Park is an Icon... Service is what drives me, quality of product, response and attention to detail! While it is great to go sit on Sunset Terrace and have a $20 Drink the charm and these details are lost in the bustle. There are so many amazing finds in Asheville go for the vision but support local.

This is a place unlike any other, a wonderful retreat any time of the year. The facility is amazing and full of history, the staff is the perfect combination of friendly and efficient. And if you only go to one spa, this should be the one.

This place is exquisite. It is a combination of rustic charm and high-level luxury and service. We only stayed for an afternoon, but walked all around and stopped for drinks on the Terrace. We were treated as if we were the most frequent guests. It is rare to see such a class act in a hotel anymore in America.

e incredible. In the process we got to see most of the public area and shops. I would love to come here on a milder day and sit on the outdoor terraces and toast to the fab views including Asheville. Expensive to stay, but for 15.00 event Parking fee, well worth a visit.

Staff are wonderful, attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Breakfast spread had a lot of variety and our server Stan made sure that we had everything we needed. Only downside is that I kept getting disconnected from the wifi.

Great hotel and a wonderful place to stay. The views of the mountains are beautiful. If you plan on going around Christmas, be aware that it gets very crowded, not only with the guests that stay there but also with many local people who come to look at the Gingerbread House exhibits. Don't miss the Breakfast Buffet!

Beautiful. The view from the patio and the comfort of the Great Hall kept is close to the main entrance. A Model T sits inside the entrance. Two huge stone chimneys with elevators contained in them! The history is apparent in the halls that lead off in four different directions. Old black and white photos adorn the halls. The patio steps lead down to lower levels with viewing binoculars. In the center lies a man made waterfall that sits in front of the spa. Simply beautiful.

Amazing food and great view. Unfortunately we were seated near the main staircase used by guests and visitors (which has heavy traffic), our view was partially blocked by oblivious tourist taking selfies which was also distracting. Be sure to ask for good seating preferably away from the main staircase.

What a beautiful place. While here they were hosting the National Gingerbread house competition (there are also gingerbread houses in Asheville). The grand welcome area was stunning with two giant fireplaces and hand made, gingerbread hot chocolate kiosk. I only wish the weather had been a bit nicer so we could have enjoyed the grounds more.

Views, luxury, history and pampering. This place has all that and more. This is an expensive place to stay, but worth it. The spa is world class, and there are several stellar restaurants to choose from.

Wow! What a cool historic hotel! The architecture is so unique. It feels like a very posh lodge. We didn't stay overnight, we just met friends for drinks, but we did explore the place a little. There are so many places to lounge and get a drink and take in the amazing view. You can see all of downtown Asheville from the back porch, with all the beautiful montains in the distance. If you are just visiting briefly, the hotel parking garages are free for the first three hours. You have to check out this unique hotel.

I have been here twice but only for the gingerbread house display around Christmas time. This is a very lovely hotel. A bit on the pricey side of the spectrum but absolutely beautiful. This hotel is very large and has lots of activities to do in and around the grounds of the hotel itself like shopping, on site spa, golf, restaurants, etc. The view from the back porch is like none other around the area. Two nice large fireplaces ate in the lobby to sit in rocking chairs or lounge chairs and enjoy. Overall this is a great place. I hope to one day be able to actually stay here for a weekend.

This is a wonderful hotel for a special occasion. It is beautiful with lots to do without even leaving the property. However, I was disappointed that they no longer offer spa day passes on the weekend.

Fantastic venue. Went to see the gingerbread competition. Parking was full but there is some parking down the hill. Grounds are beautiful. Staff was a pleasure. Super warm and cozy feel.

This once great hotel has really fallen in quality over the past few years. I would never host a conference or event there. The staff does not pay attention to detail, service is spotty. The bathroom in my $500 per night room was unclean and in disrepair. The mattress in the room was very old and saggy. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, David Davila, he was condescending and did nothing to solve the issue, though he assured me he would have the head of housekeeping services check it out and he d get back in touch with me.

We weren t looking for a bargain, we wanted a deluxe experience at delux prices. Grove Park Inn was unable to provide that.

The hubris demonstrated by hotel staff including David Davila, Kiersten Lilly, and Marie Tracey all managers is consistent. They act that way because they can. It felt like I was in a scene from LA Story by Steve Martin, where you pay big money to get into an exclusive place and then they neglect and abuse you. Part of the new cruelty movement.

The restaurant was great though, that s why I gave it an additional star. I would consider coming back only for dinner and the view when in Asheville except that there are so many other great places to eat here, and so many other deserving hospitality vendors.

I ll be voting with my feet. We left and found a really nice room for about $500 at Grand Bohemian where the food (similar fare) is fantastic and the service is unparalleled.

Still waiting for David Davila to contact me to discuss his willingness to refund the over $1600 in charges to my Amex, for which we received a bad night s sleep and thoughtless treatment by staff.

What a place. Amazing.... We did get a room on the 6th floor of the main old hotel which unfortunately had a tiny tiny window... And had some noises in the room from raise, a ticking noise and a broken freezer but the resort is stunning. Worth while just even visiting for a few hours.....

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The stonework and wood has a fantastic contemporary cabin feel while still being extravagant. The spa is super relaxing with all of the water pieces. Make sure to keep track of where things are, this hotel is huge and it's easy to get lost. If you can swing it, definitely try to stay here.

Wife and went to the Spa. The spa was emmaculate. Sonja was my massage therapist and she was excellent. The atmosphere, the view, and the people are all amazing. Thanks for making my wife's birthday present so special.

Love to visit the inn, sit by the roaring fires sipping something yummy and then a delicious lunch in the Edison Room. We stroll the halls and grounds to enjoy the architecture and history that's all around you. Highly recommend a stop.

Visited the hotel and grounds to look around. The views are incredible and the main part of the building is fantastic. The history of the many famous visitors and of the building itself are told through pictures and text throughout the main hallways. It was a very nice afternoon, the prices to stay in the hotel itself are bit on the crazy side however!

We held my daughter's wedding at the Grove Park and it was wonderful. They returned recently for their one year anniversary and the staff went out of their way to welcome them back. GPI will remain a special place for them as it has been for my family over the years. A special thanks to Curt Davis for all his help and caring!

An historic and fantastic facility for both business and pleasure travel, in a very tranquil location. The Spa is incredible with every amenity and very friendly staff there and at hotel. I can see why it is ranked as one of the world's best. A true resort experience in what may seem an unlikely location.

This place is not only historic, but is an absolute treat to experience. I went here for some time off, and found the entire experience to be tranquil and revitalizing. I went during December, and the atmosphere and view of their decor and outside view at night were absolutely remarkable. The food, service, and overall experience was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Everything was a bit over priced for what you were given. The front desk staff was a bit rude as well. The Edison bar was great, Russell was our bartender and he was excellent. We also did a spa day, the spa was lovely but the spa staff was rude. Not the best experience and wouldn t recommend.
