HORRIBLE, they turned the service off two days early and when you try to call it hangs up, not to mention the website is down. There goes $400 of food and what about the 4 kids being in a 95 degree house!

Update DAY 5 no power have a 1 year old and 5 year old. Over 400$ worth of food in trash left my home with my children because we simply don t know when it will be back on Power been off for 2 days. No one has came no one has called to tell us when they re coming. The effort has been all on us as the paying customer but we truly get no service this should be a crime to monopolize on things such as this and treat customers as indifferent. Know that this election is coming it s cold we have children you would think they would have human decency to at least inform us on some type of status. The world we live in I guess no one truly gives a (f) just doing the job and barley that.

I'm [laughing] at these negative reviews. It never ceases to amaze me how irresponsible people tend to look outward blaming everyone for their problems that they've created for themselves. Greystone Power is a great power company. We're currently facing a power outage; and I'm not concerned as I know from experience that they're working hard to restore the power. I never have issues with my payments being posted accurately to my account and I have [two] accounts with them (residential and business). I have no complaints as both accounts are on autopay. Many of these reviews simply just doesn't make sense. Keep on providing superb service GreyStone Power Corp despite what many of these people have commented [undeservingly] to your corporation!

Absolutely great customer service! We had an issue on Tuesday after the storms with our electricity, with our lights being dim, microwave and stove not working and A/C not turning on. I was about to call an electrician and have to pay a ton of money but I thought to call Greystone Power first, called them and 15 minutes later someone was out to look and see what was going on. They said it was just simply a burnt out wire from when the cable company must've knocked a wire when they were installing cables for the neighborhood. They provided a temporary fix and said they would be back later that night or next morning. They were actually out that night working in the dark to get everything fixed. They fixed everything and it was free! I am simply blown away by the customer service and care this company has for its customers!

Lousy at customer service. Make you think the problem lies with you....even when it doesnt. Told me i had to turn the speaker off to correctly use pay-by-phone. WRONG....it still doesnt work. Said they were working on it....for two months now. You need to listen to the people who keep you in the money....period

Terrible response to the winter storm of 2017. The couldn't give a time of when power would be back on. We kept getting the "let's be patient." We were one of four houses in the entire neighborhood that didn't have power. They came and turned the power on in the neighborhood yesterday and were literally not even 100 yards from our house. I know the linemen were busting their butts but the people sitting on the phones and customer service were a joke. Lack of communication between Greystone and the customers is a joke. We have no choice but to use Greystone but if you have a choice of going solar instead of using them, you would be better off.

We're paying wayyyyyy more on our winter bill compared to summer,and rates are supposed to be much cheaper! Some odd reason our bill was almost 18.00 A DAY for no apparent reason,which was double and a half more than our daily rate. We called to ask why and got zero explanation! Then it mysterious dropped. As of today, it's 13.00, and not a single thing has changed in the last few days! I'd like to know how this is possible??!!!

I shouldn t have to pay two deposit when I only had light with them less then a month. Greystone does not transfer lights they just close and reopen a new account. I have never in my life paid $280 plus two weeks later gave to pay $250 dollars. That s a total of $530 dollars just to cut my lights on. I even told greyston that I would only be in this apartment for two weeks because my 3 bedroom would not be ready until the 19th or 21st of November. I m new to the state of Georgia and right now I wish I would have never had to get lights through them. I m a single mother of 4 beautiful children all under the age of 15 and younger. I don t have money to spend on to deposit when I haven t even received my first bill. I also ask if they could use the deposit I already gave them and I was informed that they couldn t do that. It s really heart breaking that greystone take people money like that especially when I haven t even been with the company for a month

I deal with power companies all across the state on multiple construction sites. Until now, I thought Georgia Power was the worst. Nope, Greystone now is at the top of the sh*t pile for their poor response and non-existent customer service. I placed a label n the socket I need a meter set in, and they place it in the wrong socket with a different label. Apparently, reading is not a pre-requisite for getting a job here.

I have had a great experience with Greystone for the last 3 years. Today was no exception. There are many power outages across Georgia currently due to Zeta, and I was able to swiftly get through to an upbeat customer service rep who was able to give me an estimated time frame and some details on the effort to restore power. Rae was very kind and patient. I was thankful that although they are receiving high volume of calls she still has been treating customers as number one. I am sure she has had to repeat the same thing over and over, but she did it with kindness and dedication. I hope all of the people who are working to restore power during this time are giving something special during the holidays!

I want to send a thank you to greystone power and especially Brad Henderson. I'm a small business owner in Hiram and they have been a great help in getting my business successful. They have to collect their fees just like the rest of us to stay in business and these days since I haven't seen an improved economy i would not be in business today without their helping hand when I need it. I would give this a negative five or a hundred if I could. The company is money hungry! I got caught up in a false fraud claim and got charged $25 for every transaction that got refunded. It came up to ten transactions! That's $250 in fees that they expect you to pay when i wasn't in the fault. No one could help us. They could've waived the fee and have been understanding about the situation, but of course they are all sorry. I would love to see this crooked company go under. Now they made me file for a police report and have an investigation put in motion. Either way, I'm getting my money back or I'm furthering the situation. Bottom line, GreyStone, suck and if you want service, please do yourself a favor and give another company the business and money. These idiots will give you a hard time.

I would have given 0 stars if it were an option. The power company demanded that I pay a $2200 deposit based on the last residence who lived at the property. I have over a 750 credit score, and never needed a deposit on any other credit based account but somehow Greystone applied a deposit for me to have service. I closed on my house with $1850, but to turn on power...$2200. Priceless.

I wouldn't even give them a star, but the only way I could write a review. The worst company ever!!!! No customer service, unless it's during their business hours, otherwise you cannot talk to a person! They'll send you a text and say your power will be on, but over 24 hours later, in 21 degree weather it's still not on! I'm writing this for a friend because she hasn't had power in 24 hours! I've tried calling and get a bs recording! Customer service!!!!!! Going to find a another company!

Honestly I have to say this has been way better than Ga power and cheaper , I moved from one side of the apartment complex from Ga Power to Grey stone and my average monthly bill dropped 75% which is shocking so experience for your self then draw your conclusion cause I love it

I wish I could give this company a 0 star review. I have never had so many issues with a company before. They are unprofessional and gave me a hard time when trying to set up a new account. If you live in the state of GA and have to use GreyStone, do not use them go to Georgia Power if they are in your area. I also requested for a supervisor to call me and was advised of a 72 hour turn around time. Of course I did not receive a phone call back. I could go on about my experience but that would take all day. So far, I agree with the negative reviews this company is receiving.

Too bad you can't shop for power companies. Because I would dump greystone in a heartbeat. Still without power four days later. Still no heat. No clean clothes, no fresh food. Too bad the money I'm not paying for power won't cover the cost of what was in my fridge and freezer and all the eating out.

Customer service is non existant. Just try to call. Especially if you call before 8 am to report a power outage. Constantly have power blips that makes you reset everything. Not just my house either as it affects all my neighbors. Report it every time and get told, "we show no problems". Really!
Oh, and why do they feel the need to make television commercials to promote their business when I have no other company to buy electicity from? Total waste of money.

I have never had any issue, the payment system is great and I always pay vs calling. I have had two issue with power being cut off. The first was a tree that fell down and destroyed the line and they came out in a storm to fix. The next time I had issues power was out for 2 hours due to another tree being taken down up the road. They always are out in cold weather and working hard. Working in that weather and all these damn trees down I am surprised they do as good as they do. Great service to this customer.

The phone payment system is always having technical issues, they do not have enough payment kiosks and the ones they have are in inconvenient locations. Entire subdivision power goes out almost every time it rains. We've reported this to the company for years yet they have never resolved the situation. I even wrote a letter to the CEO /President personally but never received a response or resolution to the problem. I question the competence of those who are responsible for fixing these issues. It appears to be very widespread and a known issue yet they refuse to do anything but their usual temporary fixes. I expect this to occur the next rain or wind that comes through. It's not just my subdivision as many folks who received power from them regardless of location seem to have this same issue. GA Power never had this issue. I wish I knew what GA Power was doing that Greystone is not. I miss having them as my Power Company. I never had to deal with so many power outages.

I am typing this review in the dark during another typical Greystone power outage. :(

My bill gets drafted and is never late. So tell me, why am I sitting in the dark right now unable to charge my phone, use my wifi, or watch my favorite t.v show? I'm contemplating buying a generator since I can't switch companies. This company is impacting our entire community's quality of life.

Customer service is excellent and the telephone hold times are not too bad. Never had an issue with outages or customer service. I do not understand all the negative reviews. Yes, they do require a hefty deposit for initial service and they cant give you free power...maybe that is what everyone is expecting...who knows.

I've been with Greystone since 2006 and have never had any issues.
I was told there was light post on my property so I paid $7 a month for 3 months only to later find out, it was on my neighbors property. I quickly canceled.
Update: 9/6/2019
I had a light post in front of my house and the light was flickering. I called Greystone and they came right out and fixed it the very next day. I read the reviews on the power outages, and yes they it happens and yes, I have to reset all my clocks, but I've never lost any food. Setting clocks is easy. Buying another batch of groceries can be a pain.

It look 60 hours without power before they even came out to assess the problem. When they saw the tree down they left and sent back a cleanup crew. Now we sit waiting to see how much longer it will be till we have power. Very disgusted at how this is being managed. Seems very disorganized

todays date is 2-8-2017. i have just got off the line with a Greystone representative trying to establish new service. then i ended up in an argument with a representative claiming that i owe a 130 balance from may 2004. Now this is the problem. i have settled ALL of my personal dept with all of my debtors. I was told i had to pay the balance due or prove that i payed a dept from 13 years ago. I told them to prove that i didnt. keep in mind i have a 720 credit score. and its been that way since 2010. i asked why would my utility bill not be on my credit like all of my other utility bills that i owed ? they responded that the credit collector closed. apparently they closed with my payment. i am not a person trying to get out of paying a balance due. i have payed all my dues in every walk of life, but i dont feel like i should have to pay some fraudulent bill. has anyone else had to deal with this problem with this company? not to mention they are the only option for electricity in my area. i have no choice but to comply and pay whatever they say or my kids will be cold. these are ruthless tactics.

I moved to the area recently and had them turn on the power at the place that I was renting. I did not experience any of the problems that other reviewers have brought up. The lady that I spoke to was courteous and patient. The only fee that I had to pay was the $40 fee for a background/credit check. Once that was paid, she told me that I did not need to pay the $300 something deposit because my credit looked good. After that she answered some questions that I had about the service and rates. I called Friday and the soonest that they could have it turned on was Monday. Not super speedy, but it did all come on on Monday. Overall a positive experience.

If their rates are that good then they should be transparent enough to demonstrate it. Hmmm. When's the last time their customer service folks have offers us worldclass service and meant it?

Trying to get in touch with an actual person is virtually impossible. Not to mention, a slight breeze or a mist of rain makes the power go out for hours. Their response time is less than stellar & they don't really fix the problem. GreyStone Power needs to be changed to GreyStone "We Don't Care About You, We Just Want Your Money"

I typically do not review companies but I was surprised at the very low rating for Greystone. We moved down to GA from NY. In NY, the electric company charges ridiculous rates and doesn't care about their customers, yet I'm seeing the same complaints about Greystone. Trust me, this is a good electric company and I like the fact they're nonprofit. I never felt ripped off about my bill and I haven't had any electrical issues. You want to see bad? Move to NY and you'll wish you had Greystone

Currently sitting without power. I called and sat on hold for 30 minutes to be told it shows not outages in your area . The bill is paid in full, there no construction going on our street, and the weather is perfect. Still without power an hour and half later. Good luck talking to someone in the phone. The power goes out so often that I don t even reset the clock on the stove anymore. What s the point? Bad customer service and horrible response times.

Customer for three years and had auto draft, warehouse has a separate meter and was on the same bill until last month. They split the bill into two accounts and didn't tell me. Came home last Friday and power was cut to my home but warehouse still had power. Fortunately I know how to turn the power back on myself but all I could think of was an average person stuck over three day weekend with no power. Why not email or call? Surely they can do better

You have old people pets and all they keep saying is we are working around the clock! If that was true my power would be back on!! I have been with Greystone off and on since 1993. I have never had a problem with this company. The rates are great, and the service has been excellent. I was shocked at the rating given them. Most of my family and friends use Greystone. I have never heard them complain. I believe Greystone to be an outstanding company.

By far the worst company EVER!!! They ll turn your power off even if the system is in fact down and not taking payments. Then the only advice they have for u is that you drive 30mins to an actual office to make a payment because of their poorly working system not working. Whether your account is prepaid or on month to month payment, there should be no reason you don t have power when you can t actually make a payment. THIS IS WHAT CRAPPY SERVICE IS HANDS DOWN!!!! We will cut you off and apologize for that but we won t give u power. They expect u to wait till they have fixed their horrible running payment systems. THEY SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE PERIOD! Please give Georgia Power zoning over all of these areas!!!!!!!! They re star rating should be much lower than the 2.4 it currently is

Thank you so so much for your hard work restoring power to everyone after a terrible storm! I know y all are still working, but we are grateful. Never had customer service issues and our bill is always within a reasonable amount. I can always reach someone when I call if I have questions about my bill. They do a good job!

Over the past few years GreyStone has gone from a 5 to a 3, headed to a 2. We have been having too many power outages (in one right now). The worst part is that they never inform us what is going on or what happened when it is over. They have a map, which could easily include what is happening and an estimated up time. Very poor communication with their shareholders/customers. Perhaps they need new leadership?

Since living in Atlanta since Dec 2011, Ive always had GA Power and NEVER had a problem nor my power going out. However, since buying my home and having to switch to this God foresaken company, I have had the worse service on the face of the earth. Mind you my bill is paid ON TIME, EVERY MONTH!! Every time and I do mean EVERY time, it rains a little too hard, is a little too hot or cold outside, the power goes out! Not once, but several times throughout the day. I was told by a neighbor that during the summer they power down the grid so that it doesnt cause a blackout. B*LLS**T!! When its 90 or 30 smething degrees outside, the last thing u want is for your H/A to go out because the power company cant get their s*** together! Exfuse the expletives but it pisses me off to know as a paying customer who works from home mind you and with small children I have to worry about my lights going out because the company is ill-equipped to service its customers! If I could give a negative 50 stars I would! Something needs to be done because this is absolutely ridiculous!! Greystone is a freaking joke! I never give reviews on anything but I could not help but say something about these people.

The customer service here could be improved. There have been issues with my bill and matters that have somewhat become confusing that I have not experienced with any other company. But it may not be the people on the phones themselves, but matters with the company's organizational structure, etc. For some of the changes that I have had to deal with I would expect that they would give advance notice to all of their customers in a written form so that when changes are made, it will not be a confusing matter for the customer. Otherwise the hold times vary and the hours are somewhat limited.

Efficiency isn't their strong point. They invite you to sign up online, but their software makes it impossible. Just tried calling them at 4:15 on a Thursday afternoon to add my wife's name to the account, but at the first sound of a ring, the phone goes silent. If you sit and listen to the silence, you're disconnected in about a minute. At least that's my experience in 8 attempts.

Have had about 5 outages in 2 years. Always been resolved in less than an hour. Longest I had to wait was during the ice storm which was about 7 hours.

We understand with the storm people lose their power and sometimes for days. What we can t seem to understand is why #1 all the house and businesses beside ours that lost their power is now back on. One would think all the issues in the area would be corrected or at the very least they would have a scheduled time which brings us to #2 they can t say where we are on the schedule for repair. How can you assure a customer the issue is known but are not on a schedule for repair! To say there is a schedule and you are not on it doesn t leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling. No pun I intended on the warm.

I have had power with both Greystone and GA Power,...

I have had power with both Greystone and GA Power, depending on where I was living. Greystone is cheaper, since they are user owned. I have not had any problems with them. When the power has gone off, they have always gotten it back on as quick as possible.
