The food is slightly below average with several good items here and there. Some examples of the good: cupcakes at afternoon tea; pina colada at pool; breakfast buffet is top notch. Some examples of the average: veal parm at Forum was a ground patty; pot pie at Drapers lacked taste; burgers not great. The service is average: spa massages were amazing; lots of fun activities (magician, Escape room, kayaking); food order got messed up often; empty drinks not monitored for refill; pool ran out of towels (staff said they were saving them for an event); bar at the pool ran out of rum. Should be better for the price and 5-star rating. Google individual restaurants and see the low reviews.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The decor is classic and colorful! The staff is top notch! I have been all over the world, and I have to say this is the coolest hotel and resort that I have been to!

A must stop when in the area for the Bunker and Segway Tour, which was awesome! Timing couldn't be better with the fall colors and our guide, Bruce was a knowledge of information while segwaying around the grounds and through the beautiful neighborhood behind the Golf course. Draper's was great for lunch & and for a yummy Banana split!!

Unfortunately, the Greenbrier does not pay its bills. They have owed my wife $3,315.40 since October, 2018. They do not give us an answer as to why they won't pay it. I think they are in financial trouble. I would not stay there. If you do choose to stay there, I would suggest you check your bills carefully.

There was one unfortunate incident regarding the repair of a badly needed A/C unit in our room that was not handled "the best" by management at first that could have resulted in my review of The Greenbrier Inn being totally different with a 1 star rating, however, the management team that stepped in (Chad George) was amazing and quickly resolved the issue above and beyond my expectations! Thank you Chad for the resolve and thank you Brandon for the courtesy you extended to recover from the unfortunate misunderstanding!
Now here's the BEST experience ever, Thomas, our Server, John, the Manager and Felix Mosso, the Head Chef de Cuisine at The Forum restaurant were EXCEPTIONAL!! Out of all the fine restaurants to select at The Greenbrier Inn we selected The Forum restaurant for 3 of our 6 nights! The service, food and ambience are amazing! We requested Thomas each time! John is outstanding as the Manager and Felix Mosso is such a highly skilled and artistic chef!! The menu is packed full of delicious plates that will have you returning for more! Words can not express the outstanding service provided!

Grounds and activities are wonderful. Rooms are not clean or luxurious and staff does not take COVID that seriously. Our trash was only taken out 1 time while we were there (for 4 nights). There were cobwebs on furniture in our in-laws room (in the cottages), stains on the carpet in both rooms and dust on the counter tops. Towels also had stains on them. I also immediately noticed that the bed was rock hard (as were the pillows). They tried to tell me it was because the bed was new, but what I think they meant was that the bed was cheap. If you are looking for luxury - do not stay here. You will be disappointed. If you are looking for wonderful golf and outdoor activities, it's a great place to visit. They told us that they were at 100% capacity (during covid) and all the employees were complaining about the masks and pulling them under their nose.

Attendants were polite, informative, and helpful. There is an atmosphere of respect for visitors that gave us interesting information in a relaxed setting. The bunker tour is a splendid opportunity to revisit that time of History!

Not far away from I64 interstate highway. Located in a serene place. The town near the resort is a bit sleepy. But the resort is vast with a lot of things to do. I came after midnight. Called them and informed them that I would be coming after midnight. They were very welcoming and accommodating. Clean and well maintained. Friendly and professional staff. It's like entering a time capsule. And maybe because of its age you can see it on the buildings. The stay can be a bit expensive. But it's a nice place to be away from all the busy life. The restaurants are great. Good food. The GPS might miss direct a bit. Precautions for COVID are in place once there.

It was ok. Seemed a little in disrepair for what you pay. Chipped paint places, dripping shower all night, strange furniture choices. Customer service was hit or miss. I took around 40 minutes to get our luggage to our room, and only then when we called. Food was great at the steak house (44 West) but really overpriced and underwhelming at the Asian fusion restaurant. Overall, I would say we don't plan to go back, as there are better options out there at that price point.

Lives up to reputation, service was excellent, attitude of staff superior. Resraurants offerings outstanding.
Casino limited in size but dress code and non smoking regulation enhanced the experience. Table game minimums over priced creating very sparce participation detracting from the fun.

Attended a professional conference at the Greenbrier. Did not stay at the resort but the place is absolutely beautiful, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the whole place was very clean and the amenities were impressive. It's a gorgeous resort and if I find myself back there I will certainly be staying next time.

Beautiful resort and grounds. The history of The Greenbrier is fascinating, and something you feel as you walk the property. The food was good, and service is beyond excellent. We will definitely be going back.

Wonderland...hubby and I visited to check it out. I was very impressed. It was a hidden germ, given it's in WV. And trust me, I've traveled abroad and to over 30 states and not easily impressed.

While staying at the Greenbrier we enjoyed our beautiful room, afternoon tea, carriage ride, shuffleboard, food, a visit to the wedding chapel and the overall charm the Greenbrier offers.

This type of place is not my cup of tea. Just here for the bunker tour. It was interesting but less than I hoped or expected.. This picture is a HUGE ballroom that we passed on the way to the bunker tour.

Arrived early on a Saturday morning (Oct. 7, 2017 8:30am) for the BUNKER TOUR and the front of the hotel was bathed in glorious sunlight. It makes for stunning pictures. The hotel s interior is an eclectic mash-up of bright and pastel colors, elegant designs and finishings, and crazy carpet and tile patterns that seem impossible, but somehow manage to work well together to make an incredible palatial, luxurious, opulent, and magnificent visual.

The Bunker Tour starts 15 minutes earlier than your posted start time , and they tell you this, so don t lolly-gag around and drift up at the last minute holding everyone else up because you want to be fashionably late. They do take your phone and all electronics, give you a receipt, and a second tour representative brings them along and locks them up in a room at the beginning of the tour inside the bunker. Allow time for this as well.

As a group you walk from the Trellis Lobby a distance over to elevators that take you up to the West Virginia Wing of the hotel, then the tour starts at one of the blast doors. Onwards into a large convention hall and showroom, another blast-door (this one bigger), one of the Congressional work-meeting rooms (you see the picture on the website), down long sterile military-gray halls towards a pair of rooms filled with museum-quality memorabilia from before the Bunker was deactivated, and then you get to watch a movie showing a history of the bunker showing why and how it was built. Another blast-door, a view down a football field-long, dark access tunnel, decontamination shower rooms, generator rooms, and a dining hall. In between all of the room visits you get a LOT of background and history of the Bunker that s not included in the short film.

Remember - They do take your phone and all electronics, give you a receipt at the beginning of the tour. You get them back at the end of the tour after the dining hall. They walk everyone out as a group to a common place and then you re free to go from there.

For the price, and the detailed history of the Bunker and what you get to see, I d say it was worth having done it. I drove 3-hrs one-way for the sole purpose of the tour and don t regret it. Overall quite enjoyable and well worth my time!
