Great price, location, facility, and staffs. I was impressed. Their morning meal was also good compared to other hostels when I stayed in Texas. I'd definitely recommend this place to other friends who are planning to visit Seattle.

I would go back to Seattle for no other reason but to visit this outstanding hostel again. A beautiful community. I love the planned hiking trips and pub crawls making it easy to meet new friends while traveling alone.

Great location, awesome staff. A fun and safe place to stay. Each bunk had its own light, fan and 4 power plugs. The beds are a bit hard but at the end of a long day of sight seeing I found myself not caring. It is in a super convenient location and I loved every moment of it. Bathrooms are private and spacious and well kept. Communal kitchen was nice and full of energy. I'll definitely stay again.

I've stayed here with my friends for both the times I visited Seattle. Nice location, nice free breakfast (considering the price of the room(s)). Rooms are a bit crammed up but I guess that's fine for a hostel. They have a lot of info about nearby events and places to visit. Lots of small useful things available for a price - just ask. We're also able to store our bags here for a day while sightseeing the day we checked out.

One of the worst hostels I've been to in the U.S. First off there was a roach infestation in the kitchen almost every time I was in there I saw one and their fridge is full of mold. This is the same kitchen they cook the hostel meals in.... gross! I over heard a couple guests talking about how they got bed bug bites there. The showers always had hair in the drains and the floors felt slimy.... bring shower sandals! Also everyone who worked at the front desk was rude and judgmental. Anytime I walked past the front desk they were up there gossiping about guests. Ive never seen a hostel operated like this... its strange that they have been in business so long. This place almost ruined my Seattle experience good thing there was another hostel in the city to go to!

Great location right next to the market. Not a bad hostel for the US. There arent very many bathrooms for the number of guests, but never had to wait very long. All the beds have curtains which is nice. There are events every day and a free dinner in Sundays.

As hostels go, this is by far one of our favourite. The staff are very friendly, and a bit raucous - just enough for flavour. Facilities are clean and well equipped.

Honestly, one of the cleanest hostels I've been in. For a place run mostly by rowdyish young adults, it's very calm, quiet, and respectful. Activities abound - from pub crawls to movie nights, there's always somethijng going on.

One of the best perks, on site smoking lounge. Take a cannabis tour with the amazing hostel staff, then come back and enjoy with friends. There are vending machines with a decent selection, but they are a bit temperamental.

Beds were very comfy and clean. Shared rooms with curtains bunks.

People need to remember that this is a hostel more than a hotel. Not as dated but with a certain amount of charm. The dorms were clean and quiet, though the fans provided were loud even on the low setting.

Main thing is the convenience and location. Pike Place Market and the downtown shopping areas are a 5 min walk at most. Close to the monorail and light rail. Numerous restaurants close buy and stores like Walgreens and Target that meet everyday needs.

Recommended if people want to stay when visiting Seattle but aren't burdened by needs.

Great location, easy to find. Easy checkin, good price. I didn't see anything on their site telling you to bring a lock and a towel, but they're happy to rent them to you; $5 for the lock and $1 for a towel. Breakfast was sufficient, coffee was decent. Lots of international travellers to meet. Dude in my room snored like a slab of fat slapping against a drum really fast. They should have snoring and non-snoring rooms.

It's a nice value for how great of a location it provides. The beds have a curtain to provide privacy, and there's a nice amount of storage space under the beds. The common area has plenty of space to sit and meet people. Make sure that you arrive close to the start of breakfast or dinner if you plan on eating the meal that they provide, it'll probably be gone by the later part of the time that they list for the meals. Because of its location, there aren't really any good parking options if you've got a car. The service is friendly, even though it always has a busy feel to the place.

Nicely priced hostel just across the street from Pike Place. I met some interesting roommate while in the female dorms and everyone was respectful of space and had great roommate manners! The food was a great perk and be ready to help with dishes!

I stayed for 2 nights and it was so convenient to be so close to pike place as well as target for quick supply runs! The staff was so friendly. There were activities almost every night (I wasn t able to do many although because most are for 21+) The storage & bed space were perfect & I loved the private bathrooms! Definitely will stay here again.

Most of the staff are pretty fantastic. The only downside might be some people who were less than friendly, a small kitchen, and a great number of stairs of you have a lot of luggage. Pretty great place overall, though.

We had the couples/family room upstairs and not the dorm area. It was still very cheap compared to anywhere else and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. If you check in here be sure to pay attention to the events because we missed a few by not noticing!

We traditionally stay in hotels but decided to try an alternative on this trip since it was in the heart of downtown. Staff was very friendly and informative. The site offered a lot of social options every night of the week so you could explore in a group and meet new people.

Central location in Seattle with affordable stays. Free breakfast in the morning and there seem to be a lot of events if it weren't for covid. Staff was good about cleaning, wearing masks, and social distancing.

For the price the beds and bathrooms were well taken care of. The included breakfast is also a big boon. For those who like to be more independent or those looking for a good place to stay for cheap I would recommend it.

This hostel is the best best ever! I've never stayed like the awesome hostel before. Place, staffs, breakfast, room, bathroom and especially lots of events every day. I was really enjoyed. In other words, PERFECT!

Wow. This is a great place. The staff is friendly and helpful. It has a comfortable aura. Free breakfast you can make yourself every morning. And free dinner 3 times a week! Laundry, privacy curtains, and smoke lounge! And they printed and scanned stuff for me!

Staff was very kind, no complaints about the rooms either. Smelled a little like b.o., but that's expected from communal living. Make your own breakfast in the AM, and have amenities like towels or locks if need be.

Their location is EVERYTHING. Right next to Pike' s Market and in front of a LEED Gold Starbucks. If you want to go to say Space Needle, MoPop or Seattle's parks you just need to walk to 3rd and Pike it's pretty cool. Also they rent bikes, breakfast is served daily but you can also bring your own supplies and cook your own. There's a shared fridge. The bunks are SO comfy!!! And bathroom' s private and always clean. I strongly recommend GT Hostel it's one of the best I've stayed at. At nights, there's homeless people outside the building but despite what most people think they're very kind people, some of them helped me out when I got lost so be nice and help them out if you can.

This was an amazing place to stay. The guy at the front desk was awesome. We had a bazillion questions for him and he was patient and easy going. Got us set up and even saved us some money from our initial reservation. Will absolutely return

Sketchy! The hostel is clean, but the surroundings are terrible. Tons of homeless people and drug addicts - even the people staying at the hostel. I sadly had some bad experience with a loud, disrespectful woman in my room, she was smoking cigarettes! I wouldn't recommend this neighbourhood at all.

Inexpensive and the beds are pretty comfortable. A locker to stow your stuff and a lively common space. Simple breakfast in the morning and they offer tours and discounts to several attractions. Bathrooms are clean but the occupants weren't. Stayed in a 6 person dorm...other occupants in room were really noisy but that goes with the territory. Really great location. I would be cool staying here again

Pros: great location in downtown. Also, the bunkbeds are the best- sturdy wooden things with great privacy curtains, and all the dishes go thru a sanitizer. Cons- bathrooms didn t feel super clean and since it s downtown it can be noisy. Overall, a great option for a place to stay. Less of an International travelers connection atmosphere than a place like the Hostel at the American Hotel. Nice breakfast too.

I traveled to Green Tortoise with 6 of my guy friends for 5 nights. We booked 1 room for all of us. Not your typical hostel stay so this review should be considered with that in mind. The room and hostel lounge were as expected after researching the place. We knew we were getting cramped sleeping quarters with the tradeoff of a good price, great location, and not to mention some free beer one night! Good beer might I add. Beds weren t super comfortable but did the job. Fans at each bunk were a nice touch although all didn t work great and having one window does not promote great airflow/ventilation. Maybe they could undercut the doors or add a louver to promote better ventilation? But we knew what we were paying for so not many complaints there.

Pretty great place honestly and staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would have given it 4-5 stars but the last experience I had with the staff left me feeling otherwise and I cannot justify leaving a great review.

We had a dispute over a cleaning fee which did not sit well with me. When I called to ask about the supposed mess we made, they could not provide specific details. We ended up agreeing to disagree, they refunded me but now I am dissallowed to stay there. I would have been happy to pay the fee if more details of the mess were provided and/or if it was made abundently clear on the website, paperwork, or check in that we needed to leave the space spotless. Be aware of this if you are staying as a large group.

Employees are very friendly. Lots of cool handouts with things to do on the cheap in Seattle. Books, TVs, gaming tables, wifi, and computers available. Each bed has outlets, a fan, and a reading light, as well as curtains for privacy and a lockbox (bring your own lock). Bikes available for guest use as well. Free breakfast items (fruit, toast, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea), plus a well stocked communal kitchen you can use to cook your own food. Smoking lounge available as well.

There is breakfast every morning, there are outlets available by the beds, free wifi, a smoke room.. so a good amount of amenities without leaving. Its really close to the water. There are dispensaries within a few blocks too. I would say my one con is that a lot of stuff closes fairly early around here and that a lot of nearby restaurants are very expensive.

Really awesome place for a hostel. Perfect location, free beer and huge bathrooms are definitely a plus. The only annoying thing was the very low water pressure - you could spend forever trying to wash your hands...

Stayed in the female dorm room. Room cleaned daily, showers large, private and clean. Made breakfast in am and walking or Uber distance to EVERYTHING! Great staff, informative and helpful. Will never stay in a hotel again. This is the way to travel! Met nice people from all over the world. Great restaurant next door for PHO', too!

Pretty much everything you would want in a hostel: clean, quiet, hot showers, free breakfast, free internet, climate controlled, good location, good security.

Expensive at ~$37 for a single bunk, but there is nothing cheaper anywhere else.

Nice that it has curtains around each bunk and the bunks are attached to ceiling and wall so are very stable. I got extra free food, leftovers from their twice-weekly free dinners.

This place is the best. I flew into Seattle for the first few days of a long bike tour. My bike missed a connection and arrived late, and since the front desk is open 24 hrs, the staff accepted it and stowed it safely for me while I was asleep.

Rooms have everything you need - a lockable cupboard under bunks to store luggage, 4 outlets, and a fan per bed. Washrooms are clean and I loved that they were private bathrooms/showers. The staff is SO incredibly helpful and kind. They lent me a phone charger and printed a long document for me for free. Oh, and the location? Can t beat it. Literally a stone s throw from Pike Place Market. Stay here!

The worst hostel I've been in, even compared to countries like Peru, Brazil, Chile or other places that Americans call unsafe and dirty.
The rooms are overcrowded and they smell horrendous, because they have no ventilation. They are extremely HOT. Fans don't work properly. The sheets/blankets are old and dirty and BED BUGS??? Seriously???
The location is fairly good, but the neighborhood is full of druggies.
Anyway, I would rather stay in a tent.
