I have been a member of the LA Zoo for a few years now. Love bringing in lunch and eating over by the monkey exhibit, sometimes they put on a pretty good show! :)
Just visited the "new" sea otter exhibit for the first time the other day and I could have stayed their watching them ALL DAY LONG!!! Sooooo insanely cute!
The zoo has a wide variety of animals, is clean and the grounds are really nice. It's definitely not the San Diego Zoo, but I would recommend going if you're in the area!

I really enjoyed it here. I've lived in Los Angeles my whole life and for whatever reason never made it here. I bought a family membership good for 5 people for about $150. And that's good for one year. A great deal and I can't wait to go back. Parking is free, they do offer VIP parking for $10. Being our first time here we just walked the entire park to see everything. There seems to be quite a bit of tours and shows we'll try next time. Food prices are reasonable, we brought backpacks with lunch's in to save money. Restrooms were clean and stocked throughout the day. I highly recommend.

I've been coming here, since I was a kid, and the zoo is just great. GLAZA does very good work, and the staff at the park are nice. Thank you to the medical teams for the couple of times I had to ask advice for my friend's rescue park in the amazon. They helped out greatly, and it just goes to reinforce their awesomeness. Keep up the great work. GO PLANET!

There's a very long line for tickets. Highly recommend getting tickets online first or on mobile, much less hassle to get in. It's very crowded, everything food wise was expensive, I'd bring my own snacks and water next time. It was crowded, but still nice to walk around.

Go early and avoid the crowds. Got some great photos. The tigers don't get moving around until about 11:00AM. The lion den was empty and need of attention on my last visit in June 2013.

I came here for my daughter's bday, everything was perfect all day! UNTIL I WENT TO THE CAROUSEL AND NO ONE WAS AT THE STAND SO I COULD PURCHASE TICKETS....SO WE DECIDE TO WALK TO THE CAROUSEL AND SAW TWO GIRL AND ONE GUY. ONE THE GIRLS WITH GLASSES SAYS WE HAVE TO BUY TICKETS FIRST. SO I REPLY,WHERE? THEIRS NO ONE THERE. SHE THEN POINTS AND I SAY NO ONE IS THERE!? AND SHE LOOKS AT THE GUY SITTING NEXT TO HER AND HE GETS UP AND HEADS OVER.WE PROCEDED TO WALK BACK TO BUY TICKETS AND HE CHARGES SOMEONE BEFORE US AND MAKE US WAIT DOESN'T APOLOGIZE AND THEN WANTS TO CHARGE MY HUSBAND FOR ANOTHER TICKET TO RIDE WITH MY DAUGHTER WHEN ADULTS CAN RIDE STANDING FOR FREE!!!! NEXT TIME STAY IN YOUR POSITION AND DO YOUR JOB. THE LADY IN THE GLASSES (HEAVY SET) SAID HE WASN'T THERE BECAUSE IT WAS EMPTY? NO EXCUSES YOU GET PAID TO DO YOUR JOB RIGHT. IF YOU WANT TO CHIT CHAT GO HOME! The day I went was 5/22/17 from 10am to 3:46pm

So I recomend to be early at 10am so you can be able to watch them..I just saw the birds show.and alligator. Beautiful. great experience this time..I think now is worth to go there. So I think you can spend at least 4hrs or more. Great for kids ..

Lions, Tigers, Bears.... Oh my. I'm guessing I'm not the only person to make that joke here... Lol But really, they do have a good amount of animals.

I remember going here when I was growing up and enjoying the Zoo. I'm glad to see the improvements that they have made and that they continue to make.

On a side note the LA Zoo lights was really good and totally worth it.

Great place to take your kids to see all the different types of animals . I would recommend a stroller if your little ones get tired fast. The zoo is practically on a hill so you definitely needed comfortable shoes

The Los Angeles Zoo is practically in my backyard I reside on the same street that it's located and I like the fact that when they are open there isn't that much traffic on our street and the parking is adequate for all the individuals and families who come to visit

The Zoo is nice, but even with a map the pathways are confusing. The animal exhibits don't have as much enrichment as many other Zoos I've been too. However, most of them have pools or waterfalls, which is really nice. The plants along the walkways are fantastic.

I came here with brother, sister in law and twin nieces last weekend. What a relief, Los Angeles Zoo was in the nice part of Los Angels. Everyone had a blast! The place is well kept but not super fancy. Parking is $5. Once you pass the toll gate, it's street parking near the amusement park.
