LA Zoo lights was over crowded, and unorganized once you got inside. As with all crowded places, people stop in front of you, and don't care. All you get to see are the lights, nothing else can be seen. They had ice sculpting, which was cool. Santa was there also, but you will most likely miss the signs saying where he is. The only animals that you get to see, are reindeer. I won't be doing this event again.
Nice zoo to visit for a few hours. It is not huge but it does get busy on weekends. Membership is a great idea if you plan to keep visiting. They have everything from individual to family anual memberships. Nice place to spend some time with family or friends.
Went to to the zoo lights thing at night. It was very pretty. Loved the water show and the stained glass animal art. To all interested they also have cocktail stands which is awesome!! Very pretty, lots and lots of cool photo opportunities.
My grandson loves this place! We'll run, safe and clean.
I enjoyed the Los Angeles Zoo much better than the overrated Diego County Zoo. We didn't need to drive 150 miles south to see the animals when our own Los Angeles Zoo is right in our own backyard and just as good. They keep the place clean and the staff very friendly.
Even for a packed day it was awesome. Just wish people would watch their kids a bit better. A lot of wanderers and kids hitting and being disrespectful. Use Groupon for cheaper tickets. I paid a littler under,, $60 for 4 tickets
So much to see, so much to do. Lots of animals that were pretty active throughout.

My kids had a blast! They could make some exhibits bigger for the sake of the animal. Los Angeles Angeles the was a lot of extra money. This might be a good place to put some of it

The great zoo has many varieties, large animals, cute elephants, and lion tigers look fierce. It is better if there are animals.

I remember it being so hot when I was little but they've added a lot of trees so it's very nice to stroll around. Great exhibits, kids love it & they serve beer as well as the best veggie burgers around.
I had a great time at the zoo. The animals are well cared for and it shows through their behaviour. I would definitely come back and visit again.
A great day. Lots of walking up and down hills. Wear your comfies. Didn't get through the whole park. But enjoyed the animals we were able to see. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Went on a Thursday. Not crowded at all.
Very nice, although there are many animals that are not outside, the truth is that this zoo is very big but almost half of the half is empty, nothing to do with all the species that they had before, and they have moved the animals no longer know where is which
Its not that great compared to other zoos like denver, omaha, my kid enjoyed the zoo. I hate that they do not have any vegetarian food, I would recommend to take your own food with you if you are vegan

Wonderful place to take the kids and have them see the beautiful animals! In 3 hours we saw every animal and weren't tired at all.

I have owned a season pass for some time. If you live in the LA arena I reccomend it. The zoo is large and lots of fun. We enjoy spending lots of time there.
Please take drinking water with you. Not many animals but will have to walk a lot.

LA's zoo is a gem oft overshadowed by its San Diego counterpart but is an Excellent zoo with lots of animals, a petting zoo, and is also a botanical garden. (The garden part can be missed as it's incorporated at large so if you just take a closer look, you'll find many plants are labeled.)
Visit the Markor! His corkscrew antlers are amazing! Most exhibits are designed well for viewing though you should keep an eye on your map because some areas are easy to miss. My first visit, I saw many species I'd never seen before and much enjoyed myself at this large park that is 1/4th the price of the San Diego Zoo! Which is also great.... Just much more expensive....
La Zoo lights was nice and beautiful great dinner and entertainment.
New baby gorilla. Exhibit was a bit crowded. Going on weekdays is best.

We had such an amazing time! The lights were amazing! We got to see a few animals, which we weren't expecting at all, and every person we came in contact with was lovely! And all of the pathways were well lit and it was easy to follow the flow of traffic. Awesome!
We had a fabulous time back after being gone too long. The staff was very welcoming. Even maintenance staff were cheerful and helpful.

This zoo needs maintenance ASAP I came all the way from SF and I have to say EVEN THO THIS ZOO IS BIGGER BUT SF ZOO IF BETTER AND HAS BETTER STAFF
The zoo and the common areas are not very careful, there are more shops to eat than things to see and the price is not worth it because there is no great fun.
Great time but some exhibits are too small for the animals and temperatures weren't checked.
Animals looked lethargic because of the heat and extremely sad because of the captivity. The bird show was pretty much boring.
Love the outdoors and my kids love seeing all the animals as well it's great to get out and see new things

Go in the spring, or if you go in the summer take the tram. It's too hot and everything is uphill.

An ordinary Zoo. Exhibits and surroundings are not well maintained. Needs improvement on signage and markers. Trails were poorly marked. Staff is nice for the most part but you had to look hard to find anyone around if you had a question. Food was expensive but poorly prepared and overcooked. Don't mind paying higher prices but expect better tasting food.
The habitat for the lion's was ridiculously small and the water in the pond/moat was incredibly dirty... the tigers has a bigger habitat but definitely not enough room for them either. And the male lion looked incredibly thin.

The hotdogs tasted like a lot like a turkey. I saw a giraffe down a six pack in under 30 seconds flat! Yes he is the one with the motorcycle! But that s ok the baboons are particularly sexy this time of year.
