It's a big zoo and they have a quite large variety of animals how ever some of the habitats seems to small for the animals, got really disappointed about it.

If you use all the opening hours, it is wide enough that you can go alone. My visit was $ 22 in summer and $ 18 in winter. There may be a $ 2 coupon at the accommodation. I want one or two more like NYC considering the size of the city in LA. (San Diego Zooh I like a zoo like me, and if it's not a 2 Day-Pass, I can't go around the whole area, so I think the LA Zoo is a good size.
Like Dodger Stadium, it is on the top of the mountain and public transport access is troublesome for some people (I use my own car because I hate private cars), but the risk of dangerous people appearing around the facility is considerably lower than other places.

Great for families. It can get crowded over weekend, but there are more exhibits. Certainly a whole day trip.

I use to come here with my boys when they were baby's, now there 18 and 13 and it bought back so many memories, am still sad that even though they build a bigger exhibit for the elephant he's still just stands there and bobs he's head up and down:(. They do have some really cool attraction, the lizard house very cool, the Gorillas were also really great, for the most part the animals were really active and seems as happy as they can be. Nice place to go.

Since We already visited Sandieogo zoo , it can't be compared with all aspects

You have to pay 10 bucks for preferred parking, CASH. So we went around and around until we found a free spot. Next time I'll bring the 10 bucks. I came here a couple of years ago and it seems a lil run down compared to then, but maybe because it's winter. Crushed flavored ice...cash. the ice cream cones were awesome. They need to work on having more affordable souvenirs for kids. I spent 50 bucks on 3 things for my grandson. Just sayin'

Arrive early if you want to see everything. There's simulated caves, aviaries, desert lairs, petting zoo, etc. Buy the eco-friendly souvenier cup for $6 and refills are $1 as long as you own the cup (and ice water is complimentary). Theres water misters to keep cool on hot days. Membership is definitely worth it. We get gifts, tours, parties, etc Today we have a members only after hours picnic.

Is very friendly and awesome structure. Great for kids and there activity playground is nice.

Great! Would reccomend visiting for the winter lights. Separate tickets and payment but very nice

Wonderful family location! Come in the morning when the animals are especially active. Don't miss the elephants and chimps!

Great place to go there with kids. A very large number of animals are represented, there are many places for recreation and small cafes, there are toilets, everything is clean and very civil. It is worth going there for the whole day. I advise all tourists to visit

Celebrate my granddaughter's birthday and the truth was worth it

Great place for the little ones to enjoy the day at the zoo. Take comfortable shoes and water :)

This is the worst zoo I ever been to in my life! They berealy have animals to show and the animals they do have look like they about to die out of starvation. Don't waste your money go to another zoo.

Great zoo for the family. Went threw the whole park pretty fast, though I had a hard time finding some anamals lol

Nice place to hang out for a few hours. Although like always animals are sleeping or hiding but its still a good experience. Plus u can bring in your snacks and they cell beer.

I really don't like the attitude on the food places people there ,don't know how to thread customers . most of the animals were hiding so we didn't see most of the animals.

Best day at the zoo. Weather was fantastic, animals were out.

My son was excited about seeing a snake and he lived in Africa his entire life. After 25 years in Africa I didnt think I would find it interesting. Not crazy about caged animals but enjoyed watching the somewhat scary chimpanzees. I like the fact they dont mind you bringing your own snacks. Could have more signage on where to find attractions

It is a place where you have a great time with the family. The staff is qualified and suitable for education and learning. I invite you to take a walk here ..

I enjoyed this zoo. Saw lots of animals and a couple shows. The bird show was awesome. It s old but the staff was friendly and they allow outside drinks in. The grounds were clean.

In general a really nice place and most animals have enough space. Compared to others, the lion seems to have very little space. The food options are awful and unhealthy. Considering the fact that a lot of kids eat there there should be healthier options.

The 5 stars are for the OLD zoo picnic grounds, my favorite spot in all of LA. I've never been to the actual zoo except to park for shuttles to the Hollywood Bowl. But don't miss the old zoo area nearby....

Went here several times with both my past schools and my family

Awesome experiences even though it can be crowded on weekends and holidays. Somehow we never get to see the jaguars in their new enclosure and they are one of the kids favorite.

This place has changed a ton for the better. Very modern feel and friendly staff. It wasn't too packed so it made the trip nice.

Besides been very expensive, its no animals to see. We were very disappointed.

It's been many years since my last visit went with bother, wife n kids who came up from Mex to vacation best 4 hrs spent. Loved the vegetation and presentation of exhibits as an Angelino two thumbs-up

It's a lot of fun, a great place to enjoy a lot of animals and not only that there are also food stalls ..

The best Zoo I've been to. Pretty big, so expect a lot of walking. Come early to catch the talks and shows.

Today I took my mother and two sisters and we had a blast! We enjoyed all the exhibits and animals! Two images that will live with me was that of Kelly and the baby chimpanzees. When we were watching the gorillas my attention went immediately to Kelly because for some reason I felt as if he was mad and sad. After reading his personality description I thought I was reading too much into it but I swear he was aware of his captivity and wanted to be somewhere else. As we continued our LA tour we came to the chimpanzees and obviously the babies had everyone's attention. Overall, it was a great experience for my family and me and we will definitely will go back. Thank you LA Zoo!

Many empty exhibits but still a nice family day out

Nice, very nice, a place to go with the family and enjoy watching your children play and have fun.

It's hard to walk because it's a hill. Children are 4-5 years old.

It was ok but chimp exhibit closed and most food stands closed

Great zoo but they seriously need to improve their giraffes' living conditions.

I feel very sad for the lions..the place where they living is veeery small..!.Otherwise excellent place to spend time with the family .

There are not many animals. This was answered by the Los Angeles Zoo. That goes earlier, being that the schedule they handle is very limited. They should open earlier. The truth is there are not many animals and it has many closed sections. Other zoos in the world are better. Thanks for answering.

Today was perfect...weather was cool and most of the animals were out. Lion was roaring, howling gibbons were entertaining and the gorilla was wearing a blanket. Great day

Came here as a kid and now I'm bringing my kids here. Its awesome. But as you get older you start to notice how sad the animals really are. Not something I would tell my kids because as a kid you really don't notice that.

Los Angeles Zoo, absolutely beautiful in springtime. Plenty of little nooks and hidden places to take in the views and blooms. It can be both very romantic or family friendly, make it your own experience :)

I love the L.A. Zoo lights.. It was awesome.. My kids loved looking at all the lights.. And eeing the reindeer.. Gotta go again next year

It was a very nice experience for my 7 year old niece and I. Everything was very well organized and super clean. Employees where so nice and welcoming. I will go back again.

Definitely, they have made several improvements. Highly recommended for the family. If you're a dad, plenty of beer for sale at the zoo.

LA Zoo is a great zoo. Really does have alot to see. If you are into Chimps, you could really spend alot of time here.
Only wish that they were a little better with their wayfinding.
