Staff is great and some really cool fish and sea life
So much fun for the whole family. The place is a few levels and had so many different fish species. There are also a few places where you can see and touch certain fish. Very informative and when we went the place was not too busy so we were able to see everything and didn't take all day. Would definately recommend and would go again!
All one way walking and no hands on but still a good trip
They have nice exhibits and fun interactive options to touch fish and observe feedings. The animals seem well cared for. A little spendy, so consider a membership if you think you'll go more than once. A great option if you're in Duluth and the weather is sub-par.
Very costly for what it was. Our family really enjoyed visiting. The cost made it stressful for me. We visited in winter.
Awesome spot to spend a rainy day. Love the Raptors.
First time here today with our 2yr old and will definitely be back!
Good social distancing rules, very nice staff and clean exhibits with plenty to see.
I've been to multiple aquariums. Compared to others this one is more expensive for what you get.
Small but nice Aquarium, perfect for a family to view !
So many different aquatic creatures to see and the staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. Great fun for all ages!
Very cool place to kill time and learn about our local ecosystem in the waters of Lake Superior. If you go there definitely go touch the Sturgeon, it was an awesome experience.
We only spent an afternoon there, but we loved it and wished we would have allowed at least a day. I think the boys could have stayed a week. Staff members were very friendly, knowledgeable, and interested in talking to us. We learned so much! There was a Mia Bird recuperating from injury & my grandson taught it to say "What?". Then they spent quite a bit of time talking to the Otter Trainer, as she told us what she had studied in college and explained volunteer opportunities at the Aquarium. There were many exhibits where we'd like to have spent more time and we will definitely return!
Come here every year and it never disappoints. Bring yo kids!
It's not SeaWorld, but it's a lot cheaper. They have three open touch pools. The guides are all very friendly. Parking was only $5.
Great place to learn about Lake Superior and other great waters of the world.
Very fun and enjoyable trip. Very educted for the kids and adults, from learning about lake sturgeon and getting to fell them in the water to the young shunk they had. Lots of excibits with animals and fish. Also hands on excibits like the wave maker very fun and intertaning trip for children or even just adults.
The Aquarium was a nice place to visit, but $ 55.00 for 2 adults and 2 Seniors is expensive. There wasn't enough exhibits and diversity in their exhibits. I get that an Aquarium should focus on species specific to the area; but in a World where you need to compete with technology for attention, you almost NEED something like a Great White shark or something like that to hook the people.
This aquarium is hands on. We figured we could burn a few hours while the weather was bad and ended up spending most of the day.
The exibits are well maintained. The animals look healthy and well fed. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. I expected to spend 20 minutes here... It was closer to 2 hours. Even the gift shop was welcoming. Definitely a good visit.
Nice aquarium, friendly staff, fun things to do. It isn't a big aquarium, but it was clean and fun.
I took my 10yr old daughter and she loved it. We both touched a sturgeon and I got to touch a jellyfish.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the day we spent at the Aquarium this July (2015). If it were just me who visited, I probably would have breezed through it within an hour. However, my husband wanted to check everything out. I am so glad we did! We thought it was well worth the money spent. We got there around 10 am and left about 3:30 pm. I do wish they would have had a little cafe for lunch but the cookie I had tided me over until supper. I think we enjoyed the otters the most, although Stewie from the Shipwreck sure seemed adorable!!
It s a great experience with a really a good exhibits. Fun place for kids to see different types of Fish
Excellent exhibits about not only fish, but also geology, human influences and climate change.
Had an amazing time. A lot of interesting history and exhibits, and the view out onto the harbor was incredible in February. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Absolutely great for grown up s and kids the live stugeon tank is great
Me and my husband went here and it was ok but definitely not worth $16 per person plus $5 parking. It is ok size but there were only a few things that were kind of cool. And we went to the otter "feeding," but all they do is tell you about them while someone else actually feeds them behind a wall so you can't even see them, and then they leave a little food around the exhibit while the otters are behind the wall eating and then have to wait for them to decided to come back, so it is completely pointless. Unless you have small children who absolutely love animals, I would not recommend this place.
My son is autistic and taking him to this aquarium and seeing the look on his face was absolutely priceless, when he interacted with all the activities I have never seen him so happy
Great aquarium with lots of information about the sea life. Would definitely recommend.
Was a really cool place to go in a double date, but there could definitely be more
Our 2 year old had a blast here. He especially loved the hands on area with the water and boats that were a small scaled version of the great Lakes area. Lots of fun fish to look at and we even found NEMO!
Lots of fresh water fish pretty neat you don't see that often.
Where else can you pet a shark?! Also loved the otters and everything else about the aquarium!
It was small but the staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the animals under their care.
One of the best visits we've ever had to the aquarium! Our kids (age 9 - 13) had an absolute blast petting jellyfish, sturgeon and anemones! Lots of active critters and interactive displays that even kept the adults entertained the whole time! Highly recommend when you're in Duluth!
My children's favorite venue to visit and attend educational classes.
Good place to spend a cold windy day exploring the creatures of Minnesota.
Such a fun place to go. Kinda pricy , but they do have student discounts, senior discounts, and military discounts which help bring the cost down .
Good aquarium. Just costs a little bit to much for a family of 4.
Way too pricey 11$ FOR KIDS like 200$ FOR ONE FAMELY WERST PLACE EVER AND THERS NUTHING TO LOOK AT IN THERE
The kids had a great time with all the different exhibits. They especially enjoyed seeing the divers feed the fish
It s a nice aquarium. There s a lot of emphasis on the freshwater fish of the area, but they do have some saltwater fish and other animals as well. Some things could stand to be updated or remodeled, but overall it s quite nice. The gift shop has some fun little trinkets and things as well.
We were here for a wedding reception. It was a lovely experience, and being able to wander freely around the aquarium was a fun thing while we waited for things to happen, or needed a break from the festivities. Thank you for having an awesome staff who were totally willing to teach us about the fish we saw, the animals they care for, where they came from, and so much more! Well done! Thank you!
Great place to take kids to learn about freshwater fish and animals! The great lakes and locks water play are keeps the kids busy for at least 20 minutes and the treehouse and slide upstairs is also very cool for kids 8 and under! Parking is $5
My grandkids enjoyed it almost as much as I did. Great place a lot to see
There were plenty of fish and other animals to look at, even if exhibits were pared down due to COVID-19 measures. Arrows and lines directed us through the exhibits. We had to wear masks and it was a little hard sometimes to keep a 6 foot distance from others. Other than that, it was a decent outing.
My SO and I had a great time exploring the aquarium. It was very informative and had a lot of great exhibits for a great price. Definitely will come back again!
Enjoyed it and loved that the kids could touch and play with just about everything. Agree with other people: too expensive for what was offered.
Fun activities scheduled throughout the day. Hands on experiences, great for children of all areas. Definitely somewhere to spend a day. Gift shop was reasonably priced
Nice place to visit, staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Definitely not worth the $15 per person though especially duringthis pandemic. But I do understand that the animals need to be taken care of. .
Way to expensive for what you get. Aquariums are old and dirty. Most of the children exhibits are broken. Petting the Sturgeon was cool, but that was about the only thing worth doing. The cost was too high for as poorly as they manage the place.
Best entertainment and learning experience for the money in the Twin Ports area.
I wish they were able to gain more volunteers. It would be super helpful in the "deep cleaning" aspect of the building and fountains. I love their toddler Tuesdays and other activities for my tiny humans
Was fun.. Lots of different things to see. Liked seahorses.. Didnt cost that much.
My wife and I took our 15 month old son there on our way up to the cabin. We enjoyed ourselves but 15 months old was a bit young for the fish. It took a bit less than 2 hours to go through the entire aquarium so the price tag seemed a bit high for two adults and a freebie kiddo.
Great place for young children to run around on the winter.
Decent price, cool hands on with the animals, great view
Very expensive. They could lower their entrance fees.
Informative and interesting. Wish it had a little more variety
Great place for the kids, my boys loved the hands on water table. They were soaked!
This place is so cool! Lots of things for all ages! My 2 & 5 year old loved it as did my almost 10 year old nice. The adults enjoyed everything too. From the hands on water table to reading about and seeing the animals and fish. And the location!! The view is beautiful. Pack a lunch and eat on their lakefront deck!
A solid collection of fish, animals, and information. You could spend probably a good two hours just reading the placards.
I always.havr fun with my kids at this Aquarium. The family pass is reasonable price. The staff is knowledgeable and pleasant and the view of Lake Superior is sweet. The gift store is nice also.
Was interesting to learn about local animals. Some of the exhibits were closed. Fun to be able to have some hands on experience with some of the creatures.
Great to see fish that are native to MN. Watching the divers in the large aquarium was neat to see.
