Super fun. Went with my husband and we spent a solid 2 hours looking at everything. Highlights were the otters, huge snapping turtle and walk through aviary.

Well worth the admission. Even the pickiest person in our group enjoyed themselves.
Expensive, but one of the coolest places I've ever been to! Isn't very big, we were there for about an hour and a half. You are able to touch the jellyfish, some weird shell crab things, and sturgeon fish. :-)
The exhibits themselves are really cool, but they are very poorly marked and if they do have any signage most are too high for children to see/read. The bathrooms were nasty and dirty. If I am going to be required to wear a mask then the least they could do is keep their facilities clean!
They could use a bigger area to show the shark feeding time or put out more chairs.
Great place to visit this aquarium with fresh water fishes and snakes
Fun family activity! We loved the eagle, snowflake, and the jelly fish are put favorite!
The aquarium held my kids interest but I thought it was a little dated and admission seems high compared to other museums that I have been too.
Small aquarium but a nice combo of sea animals and local animals to see. They are also making sure people are socially distancing and have a clear path outlined to follow
This was our second visit. There's always something new to learn. Amazing fish on exhibit and plenty more for the whole family to see.
Good fun for the kids, interesting enough for adults, friendly staff, educational and a good time killer. Kids love it
Great location and service. I couldn t believe the variety to choose from. The catch your own policy really ads to the experience. Would have been five stars if they had wasabi and ginger available. Next time, I ll bring my own!
This a very informative and interesting aquarium. Large variety of fish along with other animals. We went to the demonstration of training with the crow and it was very cool. Also saw them feeding the cute little aligators. My 1 1/2 year old boy was enthralled by the experience.
Always a fun time here. The girls love the fish. Got there for 1030am and the place was empty. Great place for price
Need to seriously enlarge the tanks for those poor creatures.
Kiddos loved the place...I loved the views. The touch pool was fun for the older kid and the little play place inside was a hit for the little one. Had a difficult time spending more than 45 minutes though...not enough hands on stuff for the kids.
Look for the feeding and special exhibit times sign at the cashier area. There are a lot of cool things to see and touch too. My kids enjoyed touching the jellyfish and sturgeon the most.
Great place to spend a couple of hours at. Lots of interesting animals and fish.
Interesting visit. The people that worked there were knowledgeable and friendly.
Really loved that there was something for everyone here. We had 5 adults a 5 year old and an infant and there were places to stop and let the kids play which was really nice, because they had the chance to run off the extra energy and kept them from getting bored or fidgety..
A bit pricey for what you get. We brought our toddler here because it was a rainy day. He enjoyed the bright colored fish and we had fun watching him have fun. I would go again on a rainy day
We've always loved the aquarium and since reopening they have made a one way type flow of traffic around the entire building and also signs on the floor stating only one group at a time in each section to encourage social distancing. The play areas like the water tables and the big tree with the slide are currently closed as well as the big tank where you can touch the fish but my 3 and 7 year old still loved it!
I wish I could have stayed longer, it was so much fun. The touch exhibits are fantastic, and watching them feed the fish was so cool I wish I could have stayed for the otter feeding.
Great, fabulous, wonderful watching divers feed fish.
Great place to take kids and the scuba divers in the tank are sweet. ..
So fun! The touch tanks were amazing and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Need more exhibits. Very warm inside, uncomfortable.
Gift shop had more material than the museum. Most of the educational displays were a placard. The display about the Superior National Forest had a video about roads in national parks and forests and a slide disguised as a tree for kids and little else. Built like a metal castle with a dark gravel moat. Looks like the pride of Duluth was the Amsoil Arena next door where people can watch a few athletes play sport.
Amazing place. Loved the snapping turtle and the sturgeon.
Very nice aquarium with a variety of things to see for all age groups. Kids loved seeing the divers and petting the sturgeons! A bit expensive but something nice to see if you're visiting Duluth.
Really nice aquarium. More exhibits than I thought there would be. Wish they had more hand sanitizer, though.
If you're in Duluth and the weather isn't great (which is often) this is a good escape until the weather clears.
I'm from Florida, so the Duluth Aquarium is kinda like a little collection of fish tanks to me. I'm used to having an ocean in my bzckyard, so I'm not easily impressed...this didn't impress. But for explaining the importance of the Great Lakes, it does the job.
Was a fun time for the kids and alot of interactive. -1 star as there were some areas only our 2 year old could access and had to coax back from.
This facility is way over priced @ $18 for adults. With that ticket price you think you are really going to enjoy this aquarium. The Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling in the first big area are a huge tell tale sign of faded outdated displays. Wait until you get a look at the completely faded photos in the Migration of Monarch Butterflies display. Hold me back! No wait, let me hold you back from wasting your money on this place.
Nice that they have touch pools but very short stay small place need some updates
Disappointing. First it was over $70 for my family. It's a two story warehouse with some fish. There were numerous education poster boards, but this was far from what me and my kids expected. Highlights? there were 2 otters that wouldn't come out of their den, and some sturgeon that you could touch if they swam up to you (they didn't). My kids spent most of their time in the shipwreck exhibit (one octopus) and the toddler toy room (a boat playhouse). Not worth the money. Maybe a third of the price would have been fair. Much more to do in Duluth, better and cheaper.
Staff is helpful and they teach the children at every petting area.
Great assortment of fresh water fish. I did find allot of information about the kidsl area and was able to pet a sturgeon. The aquarium is will taken care of and the employees seem to love what they do. There is a beautiful view of lake Superior from the second floor. I wish I could visit this place often and learn more. Anybody that visits the area should check this out
Great little aquarium. Really doing a great job with all that's happening right now.
Awesome place for kids to explore nature. Me kids loved this place.
A nice aquarium featuring a lot of fresh water fish. The elevator is large enough to accommodate strollers and people. The facility is nice, bit not overly large. It'll only take a couple hours to go through.
My daughter and I loved it great way to spend the day.
I can go either way here. Good looking place. Wuhan Virus has cut thing down to a single lane path that is mildly confusing. Would have been nice if they dropped prices a bit to accommodate the half experience you get.
I love this place, great for kids and a lot to see.
Great Lakes Aquarium is a good place to spend a couple hours with the kids (grand kids) learning about the fish in Lake Superior and the larger Great Lakes ecosystem. They also have salt water fish displays expanding the theme to a broader world view of water ways. There are some fun interactive displays including and scale model of the Great Lakes and the locks system the kids can splash around in. The cost is a little high, owing to the expense of maintaining live animal displays, but you can get an annual family pass and with that by the second visit the admission is paid for.
We bought a seasonal pass. My 6 year old son loves the exhibits.
Good entertainment for the children and staff was very knowledgeable
Very well done. Worth the visit! The sturgeon petting is pretty cool! Pun intended!
Lots of large and small fish mostly fresh water but some salt water. The otters were the biggest hit with the kids. They also have some snakes and gators.
As two adults, without kids, we still had a wonderful time reading all the exhibits and refreshing our biology courses! Touching the jellyfish and seeing the fish feeding were two highlights!
Always a must-see destination for my kids in Duluth. 3 petting pools for marine wildlife. Rescue animals to be seen. A good viewpoint for ships entering the harbor. Can cost over $50 for a family of 4. Lots of education packed into displays.
The exhibits themselves were very good. We had heard it was only local fish but that wasn't true. My only complaints would be Covid related. A few of the exhibits were shut down or empty, which was very disappointing due to the high admission price. It was also very difficult to keep our toddlers on the strict directional lines.
Very fun. Lots to see & do. Kids were thrilled to "pet" jellyfish. Recommended activity in Duluth!
I have never seen such a large display of various types of sturgeon. Plenty of animals to look at many different types of fish there's a shark dolphin a stingray.... There's even a area where it shows different water dams and little boats that kids can play with in the water.
If you love fish like I do, you'll love the Great Lakes Aquarium. I spent hours with fish inches from my face. They have a GIANT ELECTRIC EEL!
A real gem on the north shore. Very interesting exhibits, good installations and vibrant wildlife. Could use a good cleaning and some upgrades, and the staff weren't the friendliest
Great place for the family. Better price if you buy the year price
Very cool aquarium with hands on activities. You can touch surgeons and other animals. Only reason 4 stars is due to the price of admission being rather high.
This place seems to get a bad rap that it doesn't deserve. I don't know why I've heard from a lot of people that it's not that great, but when we went there with our three-year-old she had the time of her life checking out all the different fish and wildlife. There's more than just fish, too they have beavers, ducks, frogs, salamanders, and other wetland wildlife.
Interesting place. Interesting facts about Minnesota's fish species.
Great family fun.... Fun and educational all in one
I've been here many times mostly with my kids school programs nice area upstairs with a slide for the kids and a water exhibit my kids dived into. Bring extra clothes if your kids like to splash in water and they do have plastic cover coats that tie around the kids waist to put over them. Probably is over priced going by yourself but for school programs we got a discount as a group.
They need a philanthropist to donate money. They are doing a great thing but the place is really dirty and run down. Staff seemed bored with their summer jobs. This place could thrive if they cleaned it up and brought in more exhibits.
Very nice aquarium for this little town. Worth the annual membership. But too expensive for singe visit. Surprised to see play area for kids.
Date of Visit: 2/26/2019 - Rating a 3/5 stars because a lot of the interactive displays were broken. Definitely a place geared toward kids, but we did have fun visiting as a group of adults. Appreciated being able to touch certain animals, such as the Sturgeon. Didn't like that they allow school tours - ruined the 2nd half of the visit when a bunch of little kids showed up.
The fam and I loved this place! I'd have given it a 5 but I was overwhelmed with their price of admission! Almost $70 for a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 Kids under 10. And there was only 2 hours left. We all had a blast! We fed the trout, and were able to pet the sturgeons. Awesome place! Lots of fun stuff to do and see. But I'd hate to spend $70 again for admission.
The otters were amazing and the touch pools we're very unique. Not all of the touch pools we're open but they were still fun to look at.
Very educational about local fish and wildlife. Also a neat little area dedicated to shipwrecks.
Good experience for a small aquarium, a little dirty and could have better content. I feel it's over priced for what it is. But a nice spot to bring kids for an afternoon.
Great fun for local and visiting from out of town families!
Okay, first warning, this place is about $25 per person. But this place is fun for kids. There is a big area where there is this big thing of water and there are these little doors like the Panama Canal that you can open and close. There are these little toy boats that the kids can push around. All the boats can go through and flow to the end then the kids can grab them again and go push them around. Then there are also fish and some animals here that is fun to look at. This place gets a little boring after going back for a while. But the boat thing is still fun to me, so I guess you don't have to be a kid to play with them...
I have been taking my grandkids here for 6yrs and they still want to go see it
Love it,we all learn and have fun at the same time
Fun place lots of hands on for kids and adults. Cold day and great entertainment.
