Otters, possum, history, skunks, lovely place. Would definitely recommend.
Otters, possum, history, skunks, lovely place. Would definitely recommend.
Too many rude people not keeping eyes on their offspring. Very small tanks for most species...
This is not like any aquarium I have been too. I love that they have rescue animals that they are rehabilitating. Felt as safe as you could get and still be open during CoVid.. lots of signs to designate route and leaving space. Also it's a huge building.
So great to see fresh water animals at this scale.. and who knew sturgeon were so gigantic and prehistoric looking??!! The otters are absolutely adorable and fun to watch play around. Amazing to see an eagle up to close!
My nephew who loves aquatic life really loved being here despite being on the cusp of being a "tween"
Very pricey and a bit worn down and dirty looking, but the kids love it.
Pricey for the size of the aquarium. But it's a neat facility.
My kids (3 and 2) had a very good time! We didn't know it was "free day" so that was a random surprise!
This place is really cool. It was really high priced for an aquarium, and various exhibits like the wave simulator were not working properly while we visited. It's worth a visit but I'm not sure I will return
I would agree with most the price is little high for what you get, but my wife and i love fish and they had some gorgeous fish.
Great aquarium! Did not expect any thing from this aquarium before the visit. However, it was actually pretty good! It is a very special aquarium because it has great amount of fresh water exhibits. They have several huge tanks for trout, salmon, and many Minnesota local fish! Worth the ticket!
Fabulous place to bring kids. Lots of fun activities, learning, and views. The otters are definitly a favorite but keep in mind they only really come out at snack time. They even have fun art exhibits such as a beargrease event every year.
Nice display of local geology, fossils, and marine life!
Had a fun time. Got there way too late, only had an hour. But everyone was very nice, and didn't kick us out. The place is definitely geared towards children, but not as kidish as like the science museum. Still fun, didn't get to see the otters though
I love to go up to the north shore whenever I get the chance. I decided to take my kiddo to the aquarium to see what it was all about. They have all kinds of fun things to see and explore. They have a touch tank where you can touch sturgeons and rays and I think we spent a better part of the day there. I noticed that the tanks were all very clean and well maintained and the animals looked very well cared for. I have been to other aquariums where that was not the case so I appreciated that. Lots of various aquatic life to see and they also have a balcony with a great view of the lake. We loved to go out there and watch the big ships going in and out of the harbor. It is a little expensive so it's not something we could go to often but if you're ever in Duluth and you haven't been to the aquarium, it's definitely a must see.
Amazing place! So informative. The staff were so nice. Such a huge variety of fish. I think I had more fun than my daughter . Will definitely be coming back!!!
Not worth the money. $5 to park and$16.50 for adult admission. I think it took about 15 minutes to go through the whole thing.
Interactive exhibits. Friendly staff. A really fun water table exhibit for the kids. As well as a tree house play room for kiddos. Great views of the bay. Educational of course. Our kids 1-7 years old loved it.
Fantastic experience even for adults. Lots of things to interact with and more than just fish.
We got to pet Sturgeon! A lot of activities to keep you engaged, info about the Great Lakes, and fascinating animal exhibits too
Mostly freshwater, but some saltwater fish. Able to pet sturgeons.
Self guided exhibits, informative staff, and great displays about the Great Lakes and fresh water animals. Don't expect to see anything from the oceans here unless it's a special exhibit/display! The interactive locks on the bottom floor are great for kiddos! I've always felt that the admission price was a little high however.
So much more than I expected! Lots of fun things to see and explore. Very well layed out too, easy to navigate.
Went here with my boyfriend without kids will not go back. Most of everything in here are fish that were caught out of a lake. Defiantly not worth the price.
Very expensive for a small aquarium. Corpus Christi,Knoxville, San Francisco have the best that I have been to. All of the tanks were dark and murky, on good thing was lots of touch tanks. Educational,
Expensive but fun. Also they frown apon trying to eat the fish.
Unique and varied aquariums with many different habitats and animals. Great for all ages of children and teens and adults. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. Large clean bathrooms, hands on activity centers, and a great gift shop. Takes anywhere from 1-3 hours to see everything. Paid parking though, which is a bummer.
This was an interesting stop! It was cool to see the coral and some of the exotic fish species. Very kid friendly with the ability to touch some of the species.
Such a neat place! We thought we would be in there for an hour and ended up in there for 2.5! I especially enjoyed the sturgeon petting area and that they had different kinds of sturgeons.
A bit expensive ($2 off coupon in the Duluth guide available at the desk!) Still a nice time. Great for kids.
Very diverse species from the Americas and many more. Went here on a school trip and had a blast! We touched jellyfish and saw many cool animals!
Still fun and interactive for kids. It's a fun tour!
It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Lots of things to do and see.
Great place with lots of interaction. You can pet a sturgeon, which is worth the price of admission. Good historic review of the Great Lakes geology and human habitation.
Very nice place for kids and interesting staff for olders :-) great aqarium
We had a great time going today. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Had a very nice gift shop and could also get 8 different penny designs. You were able to touch 3 different kinds of water life. So much to look at and enjoy. Also loved that kids had several different options of things to try out. Would go back any time in Duluth. You can also safe a dollar by going online and paying in advance. Also if you didn't know if you do have a EBT card you can show them that along with your ID and get a reduced price. If you have a chance to go make sure you go.
Information, fun for the kids. Lots of fish. I enjoy.
Ages 3, 5, 33, 35. We all enjoyed this aquarium. I was able to get discounted tickets, otherwise it would have been pretty expensive. About 3 hours worth of fun
Great for a couple of hours of fun or just to stop and pet a fish. Must have family pass for thoes long cold winter months, and free bayfront event parking.
It's a great place to spend family time, educate, unite with nature and just have fun!
Simply the best. If you don't go you don't know what you have missed.
Informative visit featuring the animal diversity of the region.
Had a blast, i will be bringing my son here in the spring.
Lots of information and displays getting a little dated. Well built and staff friendly. Even teens will enjoy if parents resist lolygaging
Glad they were still open during covid. But a lot of stuff was roped off.
Great display of the different kinds of fish. Lots of activities for the kids.
Fun for those who like learning about and seeing sea life.
A bit pricey but this is a fun place to go. Beware that there is a five dollar charge for parking on top of the ticket fee. It is nice, especially if you have kids they can have fun running around with several neat displays to look at and monitors stations where they can touch some animals. But it is still neat even of you are not a kid.
$98 for 4 kids and 2 adults for 2 hours of activity. Seems high cost for only a couple hours. But the kids enjoyed it.
Very educational and fun. Freeway was the unexpected star! So cute and smart.
Fun!!! Yay we all you touched jelly fish and it was amazing!!!
Great place for the family lots for the kids to do and enjoy.
Huge disappointment. We thought that they would have more to see but wasn't really much
Great place, although this trip they were doing a lot of changes to the exhibits so it felt like there wasnt much to see.
Has a lot of things for kids to do, the reason I gave it a 4 is because the price of admission was as much as the Omaha zoo for less exhibits. Also, some of the tall animal displays are display only which is hard for kids who want to sit on things and play. You also have to pay for parking. Which adds to the admission price which is already high...
Crazy the renovation i kike it great for the little kids
One of the best aquarium in the state of Minnesota, just by the lake.
Disappointed, but it does say Great Lakes in it's name. I would have liked more variety, but nice in the fact that the help took time with us and explained habits of the fish, etc
Place was 35 for 2 adults to get in. The only thing worth seeing were the otters and even then 35 is a bit much.
Neat and educational aquatic exhibits, well worth the admission fee
I've gone to aquariums in California, and even worked at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and I must say that this aquarium was awesome. Almost all their animals are rescue animals with stories you can learn about, their exhibits cover not just the animals but also humans and our history in the area and our impact on the world. It is primarily about lakes and rivers, but it was nice to see that the local habitats were being represented and not just a ton of ocean fish that don't really fit with the location. The price is right and it truly was a great aquarium.
Even thought it's not as big as I expected it's still a great place to go! I loved the sturgeon petting tank and the aviary on the second floor!
I enjoyed the info graphics as well as the unique fish selection. Great location and beautiful facility.
Cool learning experience for kids but probably too expensive for most.
The staff here take really great care of their fish! So much intelligence and compassion!
Clean place. Fun just a little over priced for the limited things to do there. But it's worth checking out one time.
We went for Scarium at the Aquarium 2019. We have gone the past 2 years and I feel like it is getting worse each year. It is way too expensive and the kids get animal cards and maybe a few pieces of candy. Yes, they probably don't need that much candy, but when my 2 year old is given a card with animal facts, it's not very exciting for them. We were only there for 45 minutes and waited in line for about 15 minutes of that time. There needs to be a better system for getting through the ticket counter. We saw a lady sign up for a membership and thought this could be one of the worst times to sign up. Maybe use the online ticket purchase option like Boo at the Zoo? We highly recommend going to Boo at the Zoo instead. Yes, its pricier, but you actually spend more time there and get more. I dont think we will be going back next year to the Aquarium. Even our 6 year old said she didnt like it. Good idea, but poor executed.
Was a great time pletty of interactive things got to pet lots of different aquatic animals
It is i interesting and touching the fish is interesting the animals birds and fish seem happy weird but true
