to be honest I had an incredible experience and I loved all the activity and the food was decent, I loved the staff, very kind an friendly and encouraging. I personally didn't mind the campsite because lets be honest here, it was a new experience for all of us, my expectations for the camp made me realise how good this camp experience really was.... and a Huge Shout out to Meg who made this experience even better by being the best instructor. Thanks for the incredible memories

The activities were pretty good however the accommodation and food were disappointing. My grade were put to stay three nights inside cabins that were basically a crammed room that resembled a jail. There were cemented floors, dirty mattresses and poor air ventilation. Some of the boy's toilets have no locks on the showers and there is no freshwater resources other than drinking from the toilet taps (which leaves the aftertaste of fish). The food was poorly made. Almost every time we went to eat, we would always find something wrong with the food. Sometimes the meat was uncooked, the pancakes weren't cooked all the way or the spaghetti was not drained. The activities were clearly the highlight of our trip, being enjoyable and varied. Commando was probably my favourite activity that we did. However, necessities such as shelter and food should be looked further upon for improvement.

And keep Sparky - he's a good night guard.

I would feel very generous giving this a one star review. First and foremost we are not prisoners of war. The tents were the size of a family car and had to hold 12 people head to foot, literally. 12 PEOPLE in ONE CAR SIZED TENT SLEEPING! Not to mention the tent's leaked water... when it wasn't raining.Quite funny is that the tents were completely unbearable for the opposite reason during the day. They were so humid and hot breathing normally actually became a problem in them. However by far the worst thing of my whole three day camp was the food. They do realise we don't eat dog food right? Literally half the meals tasted of paper and they would rather throw away food then feed seconds to the starving and sleep deprived children. Also, the whole Battle Of The Sexes night was a complete disaster as nobody was paying attention due to the complete and utter boredom. The Commando and Vertical Climb was great ideas and the standout and favourable moments of the thing, but are always going to be outweighed by the atrocity of the Lost Island Mud Course and the THREE HOUR LECTURE ON SAND PLACEMENT. So in conclusion if you see the randomly placed retarded cousin of Uluru whilst driving to destination nowhere, keep driving, you won't regret it

The Great Aussie Bush Camp was Amazing! The Instructors were great and activities was... AMAZING! I Highly Recommend This camp for schools that want to have a great time. (Also great for leadership and resilience ) The Giant swing was the best! The swing is sooooooooooooo thrilling! This is the best camp ever!

where do I start, i went to this place around 3 years ago and it was terrible. the food is un edible and made lots of my friends sick. the "cabins" were full of sand and the air con was broken, and with 6 kids in a tiny cabin you could imagine how gross that is. some of the instructors were very nice but some were incredibly rude. And that isnt the worst part. due to being forced to do rock climbing in the rain which is is extremely unsafe, i left in an ambulance due to an injury. i really hope this place has changed a lot.

Well.....

Well.....

It was the BEST PLACE EVER!!!!!

The minute our bus/coach drove into the kincumber camp, I already knew I would have fun, and I did!!!!!

First of all, the cabins. They were nice and decent, although they weren't as hospitable as a 5 star hotel- but who would expect them to be? The only problem was the size of the cabins. They were tiny!

Then the food. All the meals were absolutely delicious!!! I know many other reviewers would be disagreeing with me right now, but I probably liked the food because I'm not a picky eater in general. I know the snow cones were mostly what brightened the other reviewers experience, but I found them unsatisfactory. The cutlery unfortunately was very dirty.

The activities were THE BEST. Especially canoeing, bushcraft and HIGH ROPES. The mud run was actually really fun( excluding the fact that the water was colder than dry ice.) that's all I can say, except the giant swing gave me the biggest wedgie ever!!!! And the last time I checked, I was a girl.....

Also, we were woken up at 6:45 by music. And by music, I mean a guy that tried to sing do you wanna build a snowman very off tune at high volume. XD I yelled at him ' go away Anna!!!' Apparently, he sang different songs to wake up each cabin, because I was told from my friends that they were woken up by' who let the dogs out.'

A lot of my classmates disliked the trip, unhappy with the facilities and food. But overall, I found the experience very enjoyable. It was the best camp ever and I'll never forget it!!!

Camp was so much fun I was there for 4 days and shared a cabin with 6 of my friends. One of the instructors treated us like garbage I forgot his name but he got replaced with goose and he was so much better. Caitlin or katelyn was the best instructor!! She was really nice to us, told us funny rims, campfire story, riddles and was everything good. But the mud maze thing wasn t good it was freezing cold and I swear I saw some human poop but camp was so much fun! - St Joesephs Primary School kid

Personally, I loved this camp because it pushed me out of my comfort zone and I got to spend time with people I normally don't see around. The food could've been better, but it is an Aussie bush camp there isn't much to expect. The tents were quite enclosed but did the job. Shout out to Amy for being an amazing instructor, she was encouraging and very nice and made it even more enjoyable. Overall a great opportunity and I'm so grateful I could go with my school.

Below are reviews of separate areas of the camp!

Below are reviews of separate areas of the camp!

Food: Honestly, food was absolutely delicious. I read a lot of reviews about how it tasted disgusting and that they found hair and bugs in their food, but the food was well cooked and delicious. They gave us many options to choose from, and we could decide if we wanted any salad or sauce on things such as burgers and sandwiches. The pancakes I had for breakfast were so fluffy! I honestly am quite a big eater, so I personally wish they could give out seconds on hot food, but no sadly! One downer were the snow cones. We had them everyday so I got quite sick of them, so on the last day I dissed the snow cones and just filled my cup with cordial! Overall, food was amazing, better than I expected!

Cabins: I stayed in the Bondi Beach set of cabins! I had to stay with around 12 girls, which was a bit annoying considering it got really stuffy at night! The floors were concrete and very dusty. Also, we found spiders on every corner of the room. Cabins weren t very good, but what do you expect, considering it s a bush camp!

Activities: Where do i start?! Activities were so fun and thought out well properly. Their were such a large choice and they were all so fun and awesome. My personal favourite was Kayaking, as it was quite a hot day, so I cooled down a bit from it! 5 Stars for Activities!

Leaders: Our camp leader was Kezi! She was so nice and funny, always cracking jokes and not taking things too seriously! She would always be okay if we didn t want to participate in something, but would try to assure us it would be alright if we did do it! She also tried to get to know us a lot better. Some other camp leaders would shout at us and be really mean, but Kezi was soooo nice! The bad thing is that you miss them a lot when you leave, which is a bummer....I REALLY WANT TO SEE KEZI AGAIN!!!

My overall experience at the great aussie bush camp was super fun, different and AMAZING!!!! I hope I can come back to camp soon!

Well, were do we start, the food was crap, there activities were and stupid, except for leaving (that was so much fun) and we stuck with the creepiest night man named Warren who looked at us while we were sleeping and didn't let us go to the bathroom. Our tents were spider, snake and insect infected, there was 12 people per tent and most of the instructors weren't even good.

My daughters school sent her to this camp and her report was that it was awful accommodation and food . The tents were hot, smelly and filthy. They couldn't get air flow due to the bugs and the tents were covered in mould ( warning to asthmatics). The food was tasteless, undercooked slop and the kids were given warm tank water to drink. My daughter , ,needless to say got diarrohea . I'm sure she wont be the only one battling fatigue and illness this weekend! Clean up your act guys, we paid for that "experience" !!

I've being here twice. Once in 2014, and once in 2015. I have to say the instructors here are quite good, very chilled and understanding, making our activities fun, although a few from 2015 kind of scared me, although I won't delve in that much. Some of my favourite activities were the giant swing, lost island, flying foxes and high ropes. River crossing was terrible though, it was quite uncomfortable and boring, and we weren't able to complete the activity due to poor time management. However, for the most part, the activities are quite fun and energising.
ACTIVITIES/INSTRUCTORS: 7/10

Now onto food, one word, terrible. The dinners and lunches were quite bad, (maybe because I'm fussy, but then again, I saw many get sick), and poorly prepared, leaving me sick and hungry. I found hair in some of my food! However the sausage sizzle at the end and some of the snacks, as well as breakfast were ok. And I use 'ok' very sparingly.
FOOD: 3/10

Now for accommodation. Dirty and uncomfortable. I had someone's faeces on the bed below mine in 2014, and the dusty and old mattresses caused my bad dust allergies to keep me up all night. Every night in both 2014 and 2015 were terrible. Partially this is due to my loud friends, but the bed and general cleanliness of the cabin did not help. In 2015, we were in tents, but some of the worst tents ever created. These tents heated to probably 45 degrees or more in the night and day from the heat being permanently trapped inside. The mattresses in there could be compared to those old, musty gym mats you did that 2 weeks of school gymnastics on, (etc). Lumpy, and felt like you were just lying on bricks. The reason I'm giving a 4 and not lower is because 2014 was slightly better and the mattresses were tolerable, unlike completely awful from 2015's.
ACCOMMODATION: 4/10

For the Great Aussie Bush Camp as a whole, I would have to give a 5/10, judging from both times I went there. Yes, the activities are awesome, and bound to give you stories to tell, but that is merely the only redeeming factor. In fact, this 5/10 is mostly from these activities. It's a shame these remaining criteria were very low scoring. I think if the GABC wants to get a better score, they should work on accommodation and food, greatly.

NOTES: This 'night security guard' thing is a lie. They do not do anything, they are there for about 1 hour. Yeah, I can prove this as I was up 2am in the morning every night needing to go to the bathrooms (filthy) and there was not a person in sight. Also, the fact that everyone in 2015's camp was up 3am from poor mattresses and chatting like it's the middle of the day and no one showing up.

Good

The camp is located behind a United petrol station in the middle of nowhere. The cabins are concrete ground and one small window leading... to a bush. Really good design. Don't even get me started on the toilets. There were lots of... things... and there is an old railway track. Legend says that it was shut down after the train ran into the man-made lake. Also, if you like mosquitoes, this is the place to go! Everything in a nutshell: this place sucks. (except for county fair)

This camp is a mess. Many of the instructors would behave unprofessionally and would often throw the plates of food onto the campers. Some of the instructors glared at campers and others would give dirty looks. Despite giving us dirty looks, the instructors gave help when it was needed and explained the activities clearly.
The food had something unusual with it. The spaghetti had water from when the pasta was being cooked and the sauce was sour. Almost anything we ate had a weird sourly taste.

The cabins were alright, there wasn t any mold or dirt and it was well cleaned. However there was barely any air ventilations or air conditions which made the summer nights unbearable.

{E D I T }
The mattresses were soft and were made of foam, these mattresses were okay to sleep on but not the most comfortablest. When I had arrived, I had no mattress so I received a blue and yellow mattress with a brownish stain. This mattress was very uncomfortable compared to the other mattress in the cabin. I could not pinpoint it but I felt something metal hitting against my back which I assume is springs since it was not made out of foam.

I went to camp yesterday and it was awesome, the cabins were cramped and the toilet was as disgusting as but it was okay. The activities were really fun and the instructors are encouraging and makes you go out of your comfit zone, especially on the giant swing, high ropes and the flying fox. It is really worth going there, it's amazing, it's like your are actually in the pure Aussie bush

Like some of the other reviews i'm not going to be complaining about the horrible tents we had to sleep in,I am going to be talking about all the poorly planned out activities and the food.Let's start with the food breakfast was alright, but then there was lunch and dinner, both lunch and dinner made me sick which made me not like the experience. Now the activities half of the activities were either scraped because of rain or were not fun,the only fun one was a giant swing thats why it gets 2 stars. Please if you are thinking about going here don't,especially with a school like I did.

Paid good amount of money, ended up being absolutely disgusting, dirty, food poisoning and kids came back hungry and sleep deprived.
Some kids got their technology taken away and never got it back.
Dirty cutlery.

The Great Aussie Bush Camp was a great expirence although there are a few things that we need to talk about... Firstly, The cabins are liveable but are very uncomfortable and stuffy. Insects lurk the cabins at night and gym mats are the bed. Secondly, The food was not the best and not really yummy, I recommend to bring your own snacks to fill you up at night, breakfest and lunch are nice but dinner is bearly edable. Lastly, The activities and instuctors where very nice although some thought that they own us and where a bit strict. Some of the nights guards where reasonable about our all-nighters but after the second night it was game on. The activites where really fun and if you dont want to do it they will not pressure you. It overall was a good camp and a good time to bond with friends and teachers.

PLEASEE tell me how the food and cabins are like in yr6 camp. I know this is not a review, but I've been reading many other reviews and apparently the food is really sour, and the hygiene is horrible, and many other reviews say that the cabins stink and there is dead bees all over the floor. I'am about to go to this camp and i really want to know before i go. Also if all of these things are true pleasee improve them ONLY IF THEY ARE TRUE.
Thank you and please respond to my "review" asap or before the 25th of October. Thanks and i am looking forward to the camp! (:
PS PLEASE SEND ME A PICTURE OF THE CABINS AND THE AREA WERE U EAT. Thanks Again!

Entertainment was excellent but the important things like food and shelter is atrocious. The food quality is unfilling, disgusting and rushed. The macaroni and cheese was straight out of the freezer and tasted like potatoes. You weren't allowed to have seconds. The shelter is unclean and children were expected to clean it. The tent was wet and leaking. Sleep time was late at 10.

This place is awesome! I've heard nothing but positive comments when kids get back from their trips. Keep in mind this is a kids camp and as such is designed for this purpose, not a 5 star hotel but a fun camp where kids of all ages can make friends and get close to nature.

It's a pity that someone has blatantly purchased fake negative reviews. This is obvious due to the names and locations of the accounts making the reviews. Obviously a sore competitor who isn't doing as good a job.

Keep up the awesome work Great Aussie Bush Camp.

BEST CAMP EVER!

BEST CAMP EVER!
Ok, I m gonna make this nice and detailed,
1. The food starts off not so good, BUT it gets better, trust me!
2. The activities are soooooooooooo fun!
3. The instructors were very nice and friendly, especially Caitlyn .
4. Don t believe the reviews that say the food was horrible, it s not!

(For Caitlin: You were the best instructor ever!)

I was at this camp today for a year 7 camp and I think that It's an excellent camp and place to stay, have fun and I think that's it's kind of sad seeing people not even appreciate how lucky we are as a very rich country and how much thought and care was put into this place. I think that it's kind of sad knowing what such spoilt kids are becoming today.

I just came back from year 8 camp and the food was just wrong and disgusting, but the cabins were ok and substantial and the activity we're the best but isn't worth to rate it 10/10. Some of the instructors (nathan)gave us death threats, swore and abused us, It felt like we were at a concentration camp.

I ain't got no idea why all these peeps be hatin' on the camp. The activities were pretty lit and let's be real, when are you going to be able to jump on a giant swing. The food was, I gotta say, average. Kinda like aeroplane food TBH, excluding the hot dogs, sausages, coco pops, baked beans, and pancakes. No I didn't eat all that food but the guy on me left said they were good so... We still got schooled on teamwork and all that fluff so it was overall a pretty good experience. The tents weren't bad either, unless you're a sissy... That's all i gotta say so thanks.

It was terrible. The cabins had little space and are barely enough to fit 2 people, let alone 8. My friend vomited a lot due to the food and hygiene was appalling. You don't get to wash your hands to eat. The mud run was horrible as 1, there were loads of insects and how do they know all of them are safe? 2, My friend fell down the tires and was hurt. I was shocked that they did not put foam under such an obvious spot. 3, dung cannot be good for you. The hole in the fence plus sightings of kangaroos mean that there might be dung in the filthy water. People can accidentally swallow some and.... You get the point. 4, you get splashed with the water if you don't go through a thing like the pipes. Mud and unmentionable things can be swallowed , seeping into your eyes and so on! It took 1 hour for me to get the tangles off back at home. The commando is fun but dangerous. LIKE HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO SEE A TREE ROOT IN THE DARK!!! Someone tripped and it took 1 minute to get them looked at. They said you can't use torches and you have to participate. They don't care about people who are scared of the dark. My friend was crying because they forced them to go. Also if a dangerous insect or animal bites how are kids supposed to know that they are poisonous or deadly? The flying fox and giant swing was fun, and I would recommend going to the top of the giant swing, but the instructor does this : If you ask to go halfway he puts you at three quarters. The night guard was terrible and screeched at you for no reason whatsoever. My friend needed to go to the toilet badly but was screamed and the night guard screamed some more before letting her go. Also he screams at your cabin and peeks in for no reason what so ever. WHAT IF SOMEONE WAS CHANGING TO GO TO THE TOILET OR OTHER THINGS????????? Overall, I am shocked and disgusted that their website says *GREAT ACCOMMODATION!* I went to the teachers cabin to do something and it looked as if the teachers were living in a mansion! Please don't go unless you want to be yelled at, rudly forced to do stuff, lied to, face no hygiene, eat food that make you vomit, get mud and dung all over yourself and get LOADS OF ACNE!!!!! (Its true, i have acne and LOTS after the mud) and so on. The damper was uneatable and you use whatever stick you find. An animal could have pooped on it, it might have webs and so on. IT WAS STUFFY AND UNBREATHABLE IN THE NIGHT. the cabins had no ventallation as night guard yelled to close the vents. The room was roughly 3m by 1.5m for 8 people to breathe for a whole night. HOW???

I read all the reviews for this camp and I was disgusted! I felt like I didnt want to go and I wasted a lot of money on this, but i was wrong! This camp is awesome and really good. my group leader's name was RACHAEL and personally I think she was very nice and the camp fire story was great! Breakfast, lunch, dessert and supper was great! but dinner was terrible for vegos! its not a big deal for me as ive been to 3 camps whiich had the same problem! the snow cones were yummy and since it was a hot day, the lady serving ice was so nice that she chucked somme snow on us kids!!!! :):):):):):)

Some people might think that this place is the worst place in the world but for me... I FREAKING LOVED IT. The activities were fantastic and I did stuff that I wouldn t imagine I would ever do aka the giant swing. The food was awesome and free snow cones... YASSSSS. The instructors were so helpful and kind. Shout out to Lauren and Caitlin The beds were surprisingly really comfortable.(I did bump my head on the pole once or twice but whatever.) When it was over it didn t feel like three days of fun. I missed home but when we on the bus home I realised that I didn t want to go home. But I had to... Overall... BEST EXCURSION EVERRRR!!!! I was extremely happy that my school got to visit here and would so come back again. This is just my own opinion and I will respect other s opinions but this is just personal.
BEST TRIP EVERRRR!!!!!!

great activities! my instructor was whitney. she always encouraged us to go up a level and taught us how to use blue waist harnesses very well. the reason for the one star off was because warren shouted at everyone else s cabin tent causing us to lose sleep. the food was alright but other than that camp was a great 3 days

For anyone who is looking to go to the Great Aussie Bush Camp I strongly recommend u not to go. The food is terrible and they stuff different ingredients into a dish AKA pineapple, onions and garlic into rice. For me I'm not a picky eater but I gotta say the best food u get is a hot dog. The activities are fun and daring but the cabins are atrocious. Trhey make you stay up till 10:00pm to play games and some people tripped over and needed an ambulance. The cabins are stuffy and the night guards are always snooping in the room and yelling at u for no reason. The toilets are dirty and there is dirt all over the floor and it smells disgusting and horrible. At night u get a billion mozzies in ur room and u will get a whole lot of mozzie bites. The cabins are concrete floors and the beds are hard matrasses and blood stains covered. The staff are kind and pushed you to the limts and outta ur comfort zones. If it wasnt for the staff the trip would have been worse. I strongly recommend to make some changes to the camp and I strongly recommend you not to go unless they have confirmed they have made changes.

Fantastic location for outdoor activities. The new main office and teacher's and student's dinning room are a great improvement. They look after teachers very well with excellent food. Staff and facilities are great. Lots of opportunities for positive character building experiences in a safe way. Staff encourage and support rather than push the kids to go beyond their comfort zone. Highly recommend LABC.

Ok so I went to The Great Aussie Bush Camp nervous because of the reviews but really this camp was amazing. My instructor was Isaac and let me tell you he was amazing, funny and easy going. The food was good for a camp (very), and we stayed in the bondi beach campsite and yes the boy cabins were tiny and the girls were huge but you only spend a couple of minutes before you sleep so it doesn't matter. The activities were very fun and safe. We went in the cold so the water was freezing and mud was cold but go to this camp its amazing.p.s we had night activities and they were very fun especially commando and we got milk and cookies yeah.p.p.s all the instructors were very good shout out to Scott , issac, rez,Katlen, kortney and Amy this was a great camp.
