Jaden Watt Review of Great Aussie Bush Camp

I've being here twice. Once in 2014, and once in 2015. I have to say the instructors here are quite good, very chilled and understanding, making our activities fun, although a few from 2015 kind of scared me, although I won't delve in that much. Some of my favourite activities were the giant swing, lost island, flying foxes and high ropes. River crossing was terrible though, it was quite uncomfortable and boring, and we weren't able to complete the activity due to poor time management. However, for the most part, the activities are quite fun and energising.
ACTIVITIES/INSTRUCTORS: 7/10
Now onto food, one word, terrible. The dinners and lunches were quite bad, (maybe because I'm fussy, but then again, I saw many get sick), and poorly prepared, leaving me sick and hungry. I found hair in some of my food! However the sausage sizzle at the end and some of the snacks, as well as breakfast were ok. And I use 'ok' very sparingly.
FOOD: 3/10
Now for accommodation. Dirty and uncomfortable. I had someone's faeces on the bed below mine in 2014, and the dusty and old mattresses caused my bad dust allergies to keep me up all night. Every night in both 2014 and 2015 were terrible. Partially this is due to my loud friends, but the bed and general cleanliness of the cabin did not help. In 2015, we were in tents, but some of the worst tents ever created. These tents heated to probably 45 degrees or more in the night and day from the heat being permanently trapped inside. The mattresses in there could be compared to those old, musty gym mats you did that 2 weeks of school gymnastics on, (etc). Lumpy, and felt like you were just lying on bricks. The reason I'm giving a 4 and not lower is because 2014 was slightly better and the mattresses were tolerable, unlike completely awful from 2015's.
ACCOMMODATION: 4/10
For the Great Aussie Bush Camp as a whole, I would have to give a 5/10, judging from both times I went there. Yes, the activities are awesome, and bound to give you stories to tell, but that is merely the only redeeming factor. In fact, this 5/10 is mostly from these activities. It's a shame these remaining criteria were very low scoring. I think if the GABC wants to get a better score, they should work on accommodation and food, greatly.
NOTES: This 'night security guard' thing is a lie. They do not do anything, they are there for about 1 hour. Yeah, I can prove this as I was up 2am in the morning every night needing to go to the bathrooms (filthy) and there was not a person in sight. Also, the fact that everyone in 2015's camp was up 3am from poor mattresses and chatting like it's the middle of the day and no one showing up.
