The excellent food here is a few restaurants but I really liked it and I liked it very much. even when we left in the morning we had a snack. Mixed drink just at the top bar but excellent. Diving is a wonderful life experience for sure to take a fraudulent camera. I will come back here once again with my family for the price it is a fantasy.

Food total junk. Unhygienic. Swimming pool unsanitary, missing tiles smells of sewerage. Always trying to get extra payments for food in a la cart plus charge on drinks in a la carte. Like a lot of people went down with upset stomach. No it's no too much sun as I live a good part of the year in Jamaica so I am use to it. It's not too much alcohol as I do not drink. Never go back there again

Nice place for vacation, during our visit the pool was under reconstruction. The view is great. Sunrise is gorgeous. Snorkeling at the bay is great. Better then rift diving. Liked the option of different restaurants for dinner.

1st night no room! We had to share a room with a second foreign couple for the first night. Had a separate bedroom, but that was a through room! Absolute nogo. Service very nice. Food so la la. Plant already getting old. But great location on the beach and jetty to the coral reef. Snorkeling paradise. Due to the thing with the room, shabby area and moderate food only 2 stars. PS Room: Almost all who arrived with us had no room for the first night or were split into other hotels. As is overbooked beinhart. Do not accept, but emphatically complain to the travel provider, so that such machinations are turned off.

We have been flying to this hotel at least once a year since 2008. The system itself is fantastic. Within 2-5min you are at the hotel's own beach. In our opinion, staff and food are top. Unfortunately, the hotel and the rooms are getting old. The rooms urgently need renovation. In particular, the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired. Despite everything, we continue to visit the hotel. Staff is always friendly and absolutely courteous. Who wants to dive here is absolutely right. Makadi Bay has other facilities, some of which can be used free of charge. If you want relaxation, you just have to go here.

They know no cleanliness and on the pictures in the catalog complete difference. In the pool you could not swim because the tiles have solved and on the edge it was moldy. Sun was not really synonymous because every few minutes one came and wanted to always something to talk. The food was actually good as you had a wide choice but it was just cold. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody, as it can even make a better vacation home.

The hotel has never earned 5 stars the food did not taste so good and there was hardly any change there. The animations ridiculous and everyone from there wanted compulsory tip that went off in the front desk. I booked the deluxe double room and it was just normal nothing special just that it had 3sqm more space than the other so from my side again! And the drinks are all fake even the pepsi just again! The 2 stars are for the night at the hotel and one for the cleanliness in the room

Hmmm nice facility, a bit old anyway nice ... very nice friendly staff (not all but almost all) the food is however a disaster ... the better you dine gives the better you will be served the less you give the less you will you paid attention and are unfriendly served, or just not at all ... with clear announcements you can easily keep annoying salesmen from the body! Perfect beach or for snorkeling ... for people who can not swim well, our beach is not suitable, because it is directly in the deep water! The hotel is a little out of the way but there is a free shuttle bus! Excursions can be booked both through the tour operator as well as local .. with the locals (alex sharks, on facebook makes great tours) is the same trip mostly cheaper ... I recommend every parasailing!

We were here from 01/18/20 to 01/25/2020 and felt very comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly and met all of our requests very quickly. Certainly there are a few minor blemishes (e.g. we had a bit of trouble closing the balcony door), but you also have to see the value for money, which is definitely okay. The food is very varied and incredibly tasty. There are 4 different restaurants to choose from (Italian, snacks, international, we didn't find the fourth - the complex is really very spacious!) And if that's not enough, you can also go to the hotels nearby (e.g. at Makadi Palace, we were once in the Thai restaurant and once in the Indian restaurant - services were all inclusive with a few exceptions). There is a different evening program every evening. The cocktails were delicious too. The sea is only a few meters away, you can lie here (or by the pool) on the sun loungers or admire the beautiful fish in the sea.
Both the sandy beach and the gardens are always well cared for, you don't see any rubbish lying around. In short: we cannot complain! Would come back here anytime.

We knew that the hotel is not great, but we wanted to spend time with friends who had a holiday here. We have stayed at other hotels in Hurghada but this one is extremly terrible.
We are shocked. Bad food (probably a matter of taste, but we like: eat well, be able to bathe in a clean bathroom and have a comfortable bed ...).
Of these three, we have a comfortable bed.
Besides, you are supposed to be all inclusive, but paid here, unpaid there ... strange combinations . You have to read the plan well, not to pay for a drink in a booth, because next to ...
Additionally, the staff mostly doesn't even speak English.
There is no hot water on the first day, no hot water on the second day ... and so every day. You also have to ask for toilet paper or drinking water ... You call a few times and ask for intervention. Massacre. The hotel's policy is not very logical (or too much - how to drink the most and as quickly as possible from a guest who will not come back here anyway).
Well we will not be back. And we will not fly.

We arrived at the hotel 1:45 am and got a statement that it was fully booked.
We're supposed to wait until 6 a.m. We were not offered a drink, only eat what was already dried off.

For every activity that was carried out, they were held out for tips.

After three days for lunch and dinner Cevapcici, fish and chicken wings, the salad selection was very manageable, we have moved again to the Grand Resort Hotel. There's almost too much good food. Two large restaurants with great selection and still good a la carte restaurants. For us it is simply better to be able to try more on holiday, we go a la carte in Germany. Also, the whole atmosphere in Grand Makadi did not suit us. Once and never again.

Nice, well-kept area, spacious rooms with king-size bed and terrace or balcony. Bathroom and toilet separate, everything nicely furnished.
Great service and very good food both at the buffet and on the beach.
The only drawback: the water in the outdoor pool was really icy, which would have to be heated in the winter months (I was there in December).
Since the pool in the wellness area was not filled with water due to renovation work, I unfortunately couldn't go swimming ...... :-( A shame, it should be a beach holiday ........

Stayed at Grand makadi Hotel since january 2017 until now 4 times i can only say a dream. Staff very friendly food very good. Fly back in October. Was already with girlfriends there everyone was enthusiastic

The hotel is a shadow of itself. The good days are...

The hotel is a shadow of itself. The good days are far in the past. Dirt in the room is normal, hair from the previous guests too. The fecal stench came from the lobby ventilation. There is no WiFi reception in the rooms.

In the restaurants you can sometimes find edible dishes.
Alcoholic drinks, fresh fruit juices and coffee are served diluted with water - even with drinks that are paid for outside of the all inclusive.

The staff keeps the hand where they can. Everyone wants money for no or even the smallest work. No money means you are treated like dirt.

When you say hello, the receptionist tells you that he is expecting a tip because he gave you a great room - exactly what I booked, no more. The room cleaner adapts you when you want to go into the room to reach out your hand. at 13 nights he had "too busy, had to do 10 rooms in one day" 2 times to make the room. The beach lounger employee yells at you if you want to put one of the tattered pillows on your lounger yourself. He does nothing himself and watches films on his cell phone. You don't get 10 minutes of rest on the beach, every few minutes a salesman, masseur, beauty salon employee, tour guide who definitely doesn't accept no comes by. When one becomes decisive that one really doesn't want anything except to be quiet, one is approached harshly. The swimming supervisor usually ends half an hour earlier if it is still bright as day. The loungers are almost pulled away from under your bottom. The porter will force you to the side if you remind him that he has shown up 45 minutes before the agreed time. Regardless of this, he'll still get your luggage from the room that you haven't finished packing at the time. Of course, he demands a sharp tip for this.

Dinner takes place here in bathing trunks, hats and sleeves with cut off T-shirts. Of course, with a children's film running at full volume on the tablet at the next table. The guest target group has adapted to the hotel standard. If you think of something nice under "Grand" or 5 stars, you should choose something else.

Fortunately there was fresh water in the room almost every day.

Conclusion: never again. To date, the two of us have never had such a bad vacation, we were overjoyed when the time was up and we could go home.

A few hundred meters further we were on vacation a few months later and enjoyed our vacation (not part of this hotel chain)

Not a five star facility
Hotel is run down, outdoor areas are not cleaned, rooms are only given new towels and the rest only for a tip and then the service is still unsatisfied.
Complaints are only responded to after asking several times.
In the room there are small animals crawling on the wall.

The fact that the food is very small is not exciting and nothing special, although there are several restaurants to choose from, but only for a surcharge (although everything is written differently in the hotel description before you book).

The beach is cordoned off and you can only enter at your own risk, NO SUPERVISION on site.

The complex is completely remote from civilization, for those who first arrive, have NO fear if suddenly paths are taken that one would not even take in the nightmares.

I can't complain to the tour guide, he at least tried hard (only positive thing about the holiday)

So I was there in September and my experience is just the opposite. The room I was in was very run down (no place to feel comfortable), the food was bad and there was no sign of the beach, you had to climb over a dead coral reef or jump from a long jetty into the deep water. We were back in the hotel after 15 years. The complex offers oriental flair. Well maintained. The rooms are however in the years. A renovation (bathroom) would be urgently needed. You have the opportunity to eat in various restaurants and there is also a large selection offered. The staff is very attentive and not intrusive. We booked excursions. The organization was great and the value for money was okay.

You can snorkel and dive. The cleanliness and the food left a lot to be desired. Everything is getting old and spent. Despite junior suite all very poor. Refrigerator, TV, some lamps did not work. Toilet was damaged and was not repaired until the end of the holiday. The pool is falling apart, all the tiles dissolve or are already gone. The vending machines are loud staff for a long time out of order. So you can use yourself from old 7up areas. The staff has hardly any knowledge of English, is more informed with hands and feet or in Arabic.

A few days ago I arrived at the hotel. It was my first vacation in Egypt, otherwise I travel a lot in Asia and compare the system with the standard there.

The complex is created in the style typical of the country and the garden is just wonderful. You can visit the various hotels widely and there is no boredom. There is no sandy beach, but you can easily get into the sea.

The rooms were clean, but you have to make compromises in terms of age. Therefore only 4 stars.
The televisions are of an older date and in many corners the rooms and the area need to be renovated.
We got a free upgrade to a junior suite, which is certainly due to the current lack of tourists. Nevertheless, thank you again.

Contrary to other reviews, our WiFi in the lobby was very fast. For me it is also not a disadvantage to have WiFi only in the lobby, so I have less distraction.

Since we are not guests who expect everything to be meticulously and newly renovated, I would only like to cite 2-3 essential points as a shortcoming.

Food: We didn't eat in the restaurants, only at the buffet in Laagon Beach. Outside, the waiters weren't very attentive, cutlery, etc. had to be fetched yourself. The fruit selection is limited if you compare it to Asian hotels. But maybe this is the case in all of Egypt.

What we really disliked was the fact that there was almost no good fish, even once it was not cooked through.
Whereby one only speaks of pieces of fish.

There was constant advertising for additional, paid food. Be it fish or meat. This is included in the price in other hotels.

Furthermore, the grill was understaffed every evening and only one side was used for grilling. Result: A long queue until something was grilled after 10-15 minutes and if you were unlucky the grilled food was then over again. Has happened to us several times. Then they either had to eat something else or wait another 10-15 minutes.

Then the loungers on the beach are under all cannon! You have to be afraid that they will not collapse.
As far as the conditions are concerned, these are no better either. Old, worn and unhygienic! I recommend getting 2 towels.

Would we come back Yes, the price / performance ratio was very good at the moment and the garden area made up for it a lot.

My girlfriends and arrived at the Grand Makadi Hotel. We got a Jr. suite and the bathroom was a cadastral. It had mold in the corners, the faucets were calcified, the bathtub was not clean. If you come into the room it stinks of mold. The air conditioning also had a coming smell. The duvet cover was dirty, in the Lagoon restaurant it had a bird inside. There are small lizards running around the walls. We wanted to change the room they offered us three more rooms, but everywhere it was the same. We wanted to change the hotel but the manager could not help it because we had to do that with our tour operator "ETI". From that moment everyone was rude. The breakfast in the Leonardo was not good it had little choice, we sat down and for 15 minutes no waiter came to ask us if we would like to have a drink. In addition to the travel agency ETI is also a Katastrofe. But the ETI leader Essam was very nice we explained the situation to him and he immediately asked us if we wanted to change the hotel. We were allowed to watch the Sunwing Hotel. We liked it better, but we later learned that it is fully booked. Mohamed again offered us a new room but we did not want to and decided on a completely different hotel. Nobody wanted to help us when we packed our bags. We had to carry our bags alone up the stairs. The taxi driver at the lobby told us he realized we were not happy. The Grand Makadi is disgusting we were very disgusted with mules showered. We would never go back to this hotel !!

The hotel area is very nice. There are several hotels and a mall here. For souvenirs, however, I would go straight to Hurghada. It's a lot cheaper there. The mall is a bit overpriced.

The food is very good. You can eat for free in many restaurants throughout the hotel complex.

The hotel's own coral reef is beautiful. There was also no lack of evening entertainment here.

However, I would go to one of the associated hotels for a perfect vacation. These are a little newer. In my opinion, the spa is the nicest hotel.

If you are a guest at the Grand Makadi you can only use the area and the beach section of this hotel. However, the guests from the Makadi Palace and the spa are allowed to use the beach section and the facilities of the Grand Makadi.

That got some guests and also and a bit annoyed, because it is a long beach in one piece and our room was on the beach of the Makadi Palace. So we always had to walk to our beach first.

But you can also spend a great vacation at the Grand Makadi.

This was our first time to Egypt so had to rely on reviews but after a time of settling in to the culture and surroundings, we really enjoyed it. The suite was lovely but the bath was in need of replacing and the TV was old. All the staff were fabulous and we enjoyed being able to visit different restaurants. Will definitely be back.

You can see how the hotel needs small repairs, but you can live with that as a hotel guest. It's just getting on in years.
The restaurants offer a variety of dishes at all times of the day, so you won't starve.
The house reef is awesome.
Lots of colorful beautiful fish and corals in all colors.
Really gorgeous.

Price / performance ratio was also absolutely OK.

What is important for us:
The room was clean and
ALL employees were very, very friendly (with or without a tip) and try to sweeten your holiday.

Hello everyone We can recommend this hotel, it is a fair price if you fly outside of school hours.

The staff is very friendly, an example: in the late evening or at night my girl's shoe broke, we asked at the reception if someone could help us. The caretaker came and repaired the shoe. The service is great, we were really happy and surprised.

About the room: they are clean and large - a large balcony too , the bathroom is okay, little info Lime is everywhere so you don't have to complain.
The cleaning team definitely go out of their way.
The beds are comfortable.

About the meal: the food was varied and very tasty. I can recommend the Lebanese restaurant, but you can argue about taste.
We thought it was very good for something different. Were there 2 times to eat. Small information you have to reserve otherwise you won't get a table.

The service on the sun loungers in the hotel / pool was great and you had a short waiting time.

A little tip: a trip to Orange Bay is not wrong - on the way there you snorkel before and then on the island.

You have to take part in a quad tour if you have fun and can drive a quad.
