Have been here once and never again.

Have been here once and never again.
Old rooms, not up to date. Spring mattress, small, flickering tube TV.

The bathroom is from the 50s. Shabby plastic bathtub, disgusting "silicone" joints. In front of it is a shower curtain that is covered in dirt. Water only comes reliably occasionally. Showers hardly possible. If you want to put yourself in there at all.

Very pushy "seller" of the extra services.

Otherwise the staff is very friendly, but very tipping fixed.

The inclusive food is not bad, but not very loving and not very varied.

WiFi only in the lobby, and very slow.

Good day in May 2017 again in the Grand Hotel for 8 times unfortunately it is from year to year worse, last year man as Mahara Club member also the restaurants of neighboring hotel could use it was a sweety for regulars, but now not more. And unfortunately For example, the best tables were reserved by the waiter by simply putting a glass of water or soda on the table until the tourists came in giving the most tip .usw.
We will look for another hotel where the guest counts even more.

NOT recommendable !!!! The food was really miserable ... in the morning at noon and in the evening ... I was 1 week with my girlfriend and we will never go back to the hotel .... rip off the finest with the extra charge for "better" food. Unfriendly staff and the rooms were the height ... in pictures everything was great but in reality not a star worth .... dirty run down etc, etc. The only beautiful thing was the house reef! Never again for us and we do not have the highest standards! The price is not everything .... prefer to choose another hotel !!!!!

Were very enthusiastic, and will also go there again :) Only the only thing was was the pool as the mosaic stones dissolve. The food was delicious only varied would be good but otherwise everything was great :)

Just a great Hotel.Alles staff very nice and almost all speak German. Everything is well organized and it is very clean. In all the facilities there is no garbage somewhere. Everything is very well maintained and nice to look at. The food is good everywhere to very good. I did not miss it. If someone did not find anything good to eat probably own fault. In the sea you can snorkel very good and sees a lot of colorful fish. Only water shoes you should take. Then it is easier in the water ,

Unfriendly service and begging for tips or money exchange everywhere, poor all inclusive service and rooms in poor condition and partly dirty. Drinks supply under the badass, despite friendly demand only 1 liter of water daily received, you cannot pick up fresh bottles, only refill at questionable water dispensers (only 2 in the whole area) and only at "service times" from 10am (generally Drinks at the pool only from 10).
No clever advice on tap water (e.g. brushing your teeth should be OK, guests from other hotels were strongly advised against).
The food in the restaurants and buffets was partly good, mostly mediocre and often not enjoyable.
General hygiene catastrophic.
We both lay flat for 1 day each with stomach problems that still persist.

Negative: one night we accidentally left the terrace door when we went to dinner. By the time we came back from the evening someone's input into our room and stole my phone with the charger. (so many values from it)
The sea in the hotel area is a nature reserve so the whole is a great coral reef ... that's why I didn't enjoy bathing so much there.

The Grand Makadi is a neat peaceful hotel .

The Grand Makadi is a neat peaceful hotel .
The staff friendly and helpful, English-literate.
A lot of German, Swedish and Danish tourists. The Finns have not yet "discovered" a hotel, too bad. And the best thing is not Russian and Chinese tourists .
The hotel has many restaurants with dining options (breakfast, lunch and dinner). One of the buffet type restaurant, Lagoon, which does not need to make a table reservation for dinner. Three a la carte restaurants, Leonardo Italian, Tarboush from Lebanon and Island Caribian seafood restaurant (including meat dishes: chicken, lamb, calf), which must be booked on the previous day.
In addition, the opportunity to go a la carte dinner in two adjoining hotel, and Makadi Palace in Makadi Mall'ssa!
Spa Hotel beach, with a variety of treatments, including massages.
The hotel is located close to the sea, the Red Sea!
The hotel is located in the Red Sea Hotels area. The area is wide, with the possibility to move freely and in peace. The area five big hotels and more plazas, where a variety of shops.
Security Territory good, because the area has security guards' booths and more.
Overall a neat cozy hotel!
The next time you choose to travel to Egypt Makadi Bay and WiFi, and The Grand Mskadin a hotel .

We were 10 years ago in this hotel and were fully satisfied !!!!
BUT now and this is not a joke, worst hotel in which we were jamals !!!
Gastrointestinal problems with severe intestinal cramps (estimated 90% of the tourists. The people stood in line at the pharmacy in the neighboring hotel) They have a real hygiene problem. Bad, unclean and unfriendly staff, dirty and not working rooms (shower head, air conditioning, safe, toilet, TV were all broken.) Although all inclusive booked you have to pay for much. Freshly grilled with meals 5 Eur a person, Smothies by the pool 2.50 Euro, BBQ on the beach 12 Eur a person, Beach Party 8 Eur a person! These are just a few examples! Without tipping in the hotel nothing and should it not the expectations of the staff will be complained!
The pool is missing many tiles, the fat on the edge is simply swept with a broom back into the pool. The beach if you can call it is from the guests in the neighboring hotel to 90% confiscated because they have only a small beach (recognizable on purple bracelet). A tourist from our hotel told me that the reservation from 3 o'clock in the morning would be in progress. Swimming without shoes not possible!
The food in buffet form is not to be enjoyed and very monotonous to not edible! For breakfast always the same and hardly choice. The food a la carte was much better! But a table you do not get without reservation and rarely because all want to go there ( understandable).
The prices in the shops are completely exaggerated (shaving cream 15, - and 10, - with action cheaper is nothing. (Statement: in 14 days the Russians come).
They would pay.

The offshore reef with the newly built jetty is really top!
Aquarium to touch.
Everything I've written here is really precious in 14 days
Holiday happens, so I can not recommend this hotel!

Hotel is good value for money. Staff was always friendly. The facility is a bit old but clean. We didn't use the pool because the sea was so beautiful. Great for snorkeling.
In the rooms, I didn't like the bathtub with shower curtain. I would have preferred a shower cubicle. The weather at the beginning of February was great, the wind was still cool. In the slipstream you could sunbathe well. Food was good and you always found something. Desserts very tasty but also very sweet.

We enjoyed being in an oasis of friendly staff who were always at your service with a smile. We arrived late at the hotel but were able to have dinner at the Italian at 10 pm. The food is basic but good, especially the grill outside was delicious every day, as well as the delicious bread that Merfat and Hagar baked every meal with her infectious smile. The a la carte restaurants are an added value, especially the Lebanese.

Mats and chairs on the beach are completely tired. Vendors on the beach are not pushy.
The toilets are immaculate at the beach as well as at the lobby. Big praise for that!

We had a room with a beautiful view, where we could enjoy the rising sun intensely in the morning. The big downside was the bathroom ... WC kept running so we had to get someone for repair, the same thing a day later ... The bath to shower in completely tired and surface felt weak, I had the feeling I had every one moment by shooting and a shower curtain that sticks to your body every time you turn, I don't like it.

In our room on arrival there was a shower gel bottle half open on the edge of the bath and there were no beach towels available, which we received immediately upon inquiry at the reception. Other than that, the room was immaculate.

We also found the taxi service 'to way' at the reception an added value.

Tips for hotel: renew your bathrooms and insert a walk-in shower. Renew your beach mats and remove or repair the worn-out beach chairs and you have a beautiful hotel again.

We stayed in a junior suite from 28th to 5th December 2018.

Nice hotel, perfectly located on the edge of the large "gated community" that Makadi bay is. Begins to get worn but it is looking good afterwards. Better buffets than the sister hotel next to Makadi Palace, but the Lebanese and Caribbean restaurants have good menus.
