Something big, beautiful and interesting. The hotel does not deserve its 5 stars, compared to Turkey, neither the rooms nor the food which is really quite but not as diverse. You will have no problems either because of the food or the drinks. In this hotel the pools are many and well-maintained as are the beach and the yard. Price quality report OK. The beach and the water of the sea compensate, some shortcomings.

It's absolutely fine and a nice place to stay, but rather average. You will have a nice holiday here, so don't stress about booking it, but there are a few annoying things about the hotel I should point out:
- if it's busy then you might struggle to get a sunbed by the pool (people shove towels on them first thing in the morning)
-not enough places outside the bars in the evening. Several nights we struggled to get a seat
-quite slow service at times
But saying that, it's a nice hotel, well cleaned and looks aesthetically pleasing. Staff are all very nice too.
Me and my family spent nice holiday.Very nice hotel, the food during Christmas and new years eve was great. Services was always polite and very well organised. Room cleaning was diligent. We will come definitely again.100%recommendation
Wonderful hotel with beautiful pools to choose from or a two minute walk to the private beach. Many restaurants, bars and snack places so you can never go hungry day or night and staff are so friendly and helpful. Entertainment staff were brilliant too. We have had many good nights watching the shows in joker bar and dancing until late. A great mix of relaxing by day, great organised trips and fun each evening. We will definitely be returning.
VERY VERY disappointed, couldn't wait to come home. The hotel was very tired and dirty, in need of a complete refurbishment. There was constant efforts in fixing sun umbrellas etc but it was done in a half hearted way. The food was the same every day at the buffet restaurants, lots of it but left around to get cold, so very aware of the implications around cold cooked food! I did have diarrhoea and sickness during my stay! We asked for more toilet paper and water to the room but they never arrived. A la carte was another option however there is little choice as much of the menu is at an extra cost. Like much at this hotel they are constantly looking at ways to get you to spend and always looking for tips, our first trip to one resturant the waiter actually asked us for cash!! When we didn't give him any he was very unhelpful for the rest of the holiday- not willing to top our drinks up. If you go to the beach you will be especially hassled by the Makadi Spa reps asking if you want a massage, beauty treatments, they come into the hotel pool areas too though. The beach is especially scruffy, dirty, ripped sunbed cushions, beds falling apart. Reps walk around all day too with trays of 'fresh' ! Juice , 3 each. Getting water wasn't easy, which considering how hot it is there. You could get drinks at the beach however they were served in small plastic cups. The plastic is another thing, why are they so ignorant about this bags and bags collected up at the end of the day. So much in the news about what plastic is doing to our planet and they have the most beautiful blue clear sea with fish that need protecting. If you've read all of my review thank you I feel very upset about spending hard earned money on a holiday with Red Sea, never again.
Average. Protrudes into nothing. Does not offer much to complain about. The alcohol is absolutely nothing. Bring your own is announced. Without tip here runs absolutely nothing. The hand is kept open for everything. In November, the store consists only of pensioners who came from the last annual general meeting of the allotment garden club. Accordingly, the verve is very high above everyone and everything to complain about.
Had my passport & money stolen first night but paid the night manager to get it back! got upgraded on my return last night from being on a cruise from the Nile....funny that! it was ok hotel not enough beds around the pools but I love the beach so happy days! Ist night was not going to ruin my trip!
We've stayed to Makadi Palace from 17 to 24 of November 2019. Here you have some pictures from the resort, the room and the beach. Regarding the staff they were really frendlly the room was cleaned every day, towels changed daily. Regarding the food here there were some problems. In the Dome restaurant and Melange the food was of a poor quality, I recomand to make a reservation to the other restaurants. The best thing remains the sea. The sea was beautiful as ever, cristal water, lots of fish and corals that make this vacantion a great one. The pictures with the beautiful beach are made on the outside of the resort on the left of the pontoon.
First of all. It was a nice vacation. Regarding the hotel or the stay there are unfortunately some things that weren't exactly positive. Cocktails, for example, which you actually only drink once to try. After that, not more. Both taste and quality are rather modest. The staff is very friendly, with the bitter aftertaste that the tip has to be paid in order to get something. (E.g. ashtray on the beach) The staff on the beach is very busy counting the euros obtained and converting them into paper money.
Also the constant offers for "massage, manicure-pedicure" are rather annoying when you doze on the beach or pool.
All in all, a lot of money is required for an all-inclusive vacation. In the Makadi Mall, all drinks cost extra. Money is also required for many (not all!) Dishes and dishes.
Now for the good things: Cleanliness is very important. Rooms, pools and everything around is very well maintained and always kept very clean. Of course there are a few exceptions that are more likely to be attributed to the age of the system. It's not a new hotel. The animation is amusing and very rich in entertainment
Nice hotel , rooms are very good , need to get up early for the sunbeds food not all that brilliant in the all inclusive, best bet is to go and book the al a carte and go for the non paying meal, need to bring a water bottle with you as they don't give out bottles of water, two in your room, also no tea and coffee in your room, if your going to give a tip ( advisable) you seem to get looked after better give Egyptian pounds, not pound coins you end up with the staff wanting you to change them ,as they cant change them in there bank , bring plenty of suncream it gets really hot also bring mosquito repellent, like wipes and spray, other than that have a good holiday its what you make of it
Beautiful grounds and great house reef. Food not good update; We visited the facility a second time. This time the food was much better. The hotel is really recommended. The price performance ratio is perfectly fine
Overlooking the Red Sea, this palatial, Moorish-style resort is a 4-minute walk from the Piano Diving Club and 8 km from Makadi Bay Water World.
Elegant, air-conditioned rooms offer en suite bathrooms and flat-screen TVs, plus minibars, safes, and balconies or terraces.
Amenities include 4 outdoor pools and a kids' pool, as well as a private beach and tennis courts. There are also 6 restaurants and a snack bar, plus a nightclub, lobby and piano bars and a free area shuttle.
Run down from a good hotel to junk class. A real feast for the eyes from a distance, but a poor choice for vacationing. The food is unreasonable, the plaster falls from the walls, cupboard doors just fall out, care products in the room have been saved and you are bothered with paid offers all day
Good hotel. Well-groomed area. Lots of greenery. There are four hotels of the same chain nearby and you can walk around the territory of all hotels, visit the water park and restaurants. The food is tasty and varied.
Back from Maladie Palace, an aging hotel but overall clean, beautiful vegetation and superb pools. A flat on the restaurants (Dome and mix) little variety and pastries and bread for breakfast seem to be the day before ... No beach but a pontoon to see corals and fish without having to go out at sea. The setting and exterior layout are the highlights of this hotel.
Getting a wee bit tired and in need of a freshen up here and there. All inclusive but there really was a push on getting you to go to the extras...meals...parties etc...not annoying just a little too full on. I get that they are struggling for every tourist dollar but you go on holiday to get away from pressures. Still would go back in an instant.
Makadi Palace was amazing. Absolutely loved it and im planning to go back in September. Many different restaurant choices and they are included in the all inclusive. Only thing I'd say they need more of is entertainment as everything is so far from the hotel.
Very affordable all inclusive! protected area with everything you might need if you just want to relax, sunbathe and swim. Very friendly staff, great food with lots of variety of restaurants. Cute cleaners who created creations with the towels every day were a pleasant surprise. Internet only in the lobby, it was really nice to take vacation from the phone too, one must absolutely have internet there was short to buy at the airport, for 17 Euro you could surf and send pictures non stop. A little cold in the evenings and in the water but for my taste the perfectly acceptable temperature, in the sun it was warm and nice.
Great resort for relaxing and very good service from the Egyptian personal. To be honest, the rooms and equipment are not 5-star standard if you compare it to northern europe standard, but it works fine anyway. One of the best snorkel area in the world on the coral reefs right outside of the resort, just a short walk on a pir and experience this amazing underwater world! I can really recommend this!
this was our 7th visit to makadi palace and as usual we were not disappointed . staff were just as amazing as every other time we have been there, I would like to say a huge thank you to three of the staff firstly Vicktoria in guest relations she will always go above and beyond to help with any problem and will always stop and chat and have a coffee with you. chef chady and chef sayed will always help if you have any food allergies and take their work to another level three of the most wonderfull people you will meet .many thanks to all the staff who looked after us during our holiday.
It was no doubt a very nice hotel when it was built but it is definitely due a refurb now, the room had an old style non-flatscreen TV to give you a clue to the age but to be fair it was reasonable for the price. But there were some issues. The shower was barely functional even after two visits from maintainence. Room service is a joke, they are very friendly and helpful when you call but no one ever turns up with your order. The food was generally tasty and varied, the buffets were a bit naff but you can book the included a la carte options which are decent, the issue with the food is that my wife got food poisoning so bad she was in hospital for two days, and I've been back 4 days and my stomach is still not back to normal. It would be one star but the location is fantastic. The red sea is amazing, the weather is perfect and the hotel has a private reef. Despite its flaws it would be paradise if they could sort out the food poisoning issue.
Great food we ate in a different restaurant every night eating cuisine from sll around the world x room was tired but clean and perfect view out to sea. Air conditioning was good but hot water was at a premium when you wanted a shower around 6 oclock. The waiters were always pleased to serve but some of them looked for tips at every round. We really enjoyed the hotel and will be returning next year. If you have any problems talk to Anna and she will sort it out straight away. The massages on site were good but beware of the exchange rates if not paying in EP. Avoid the beauty salon i was nearly scared for life long story just be very cautious of what you book x do not have the facial is all i can say . And last of all the beach bar in rhe royal makadi is well worth popping into for a snack the 3 guys there will look after you.
The hotel and the whole resort are fantastic. The hotel is renovated, rooms are specious and clean. The food is Great, as you can chose from several restavrant. . The staff is very friendly.
Good size rooms with balcony's kettles TV bath and free daily water plenty of eatery's but larger extremely weak not sure it's got any alcohol. Snorkeling pier on site weather permitting really good experience good variety of pools but need stake chair early as they have towels on most day good experience would go back
Nice hotel, but a little old inside, and the food was not very good. The hotel courtyard was great especially in the evening when the sun set and the dim light was turned on. The location is the best thing about the hotel, the reef was great with lots and lots of fish.
Really like this place but has got a bit tired over the years...also tonpyshy in selling you added extras. Staff really nice though... but dont fall for the special price beauty treatments/ massages at the beach....
The whole place is in need of updating. It's clean the staff are good and helpful, good variety of food with several different restaurants. The rooms are spacious with massive beds and the rooms are cleaned every day..... Unfortunately all the hotel needs a lick of paint
The hotel has so much to offer, the riffs are among the most beautiful ever! The food is not the best in places, but some restaurants pull it out again. You have to cope with the fact that you are constantly reduced to drinking money. But for the price, you really get a dream
Happy.. After an initial disappointment, the hotel turned the holiday around and we were treated magnificently. Hotel staff very efficient, however emotionless. I'd recommend the sister hotel Markadi spa if the budget will go a little further.
I have had a very bad experience with this hotel the food is absolutely terrible me and my cousin had to walk to a diffrent hotel which was close by to have breakfast the hotel was the sunwing the hygiene was not very good there the sheets are never changed they are extremely rude to English people as well if you can only speak English and not German I don t recommend you go there I asked one of the bartenders for a drink and he answered what in a rude way I ignored this but that same bartender did that multiple times that trip my cousin asked one of the room service people for water bottles there was a problem because of the language barrier this guy wasn t very good at English so we couldn t understand him he then has the audacity to say do you speak English when we live in England we met multiple English people on that trip as well and they agreed with me and my family that the staff were quite rude another experience with the bartenders after blanking me for what felt like 10 minuets because he was talking to his colleagues he comes over asked me what I wanted and wasirritated because I spoke English I asked him for a 7up he didn t go get it straight away he went back to talk to colleagues and didn t even get it I sat there for a while waiting he looked over gave me a dirty look then finally made it after he made it I then asked him for a packet of Oreos he just walked away and didn t come back and this time I was tired of waiting and wasn t not going to wait for him after this trip because of poor hygiene that they had in this hotel I was covered in rashes and spots overall it was a terrible experience
Very nice and above all large facility If you expect a mixed crowd then it is to be recommended if with children then the sunwings shelf is recommended and if only adults only from 18 then makadi spa. We enjoyed the vacation trips and massages in the hotel relatively expensive.
