Fantastic amenities and a beautiful aesthetic. Room service was delicious too!
Fantastic amenities and a beautiful aesthetic. Room service was delicious too!
Overall experience and deco are great, unfortunately sound proof of rooms is disappointing.
Pretty great hotel. Amazing location just off Union Square, comfortable rooms, and gorgeous lobby. For SF the prices never seem too bad either.
Gorgeous Presidential suite, totallyall worth the !
A great location with an even better view of the tree lighting. Always ask for the upgrade. The ac was a little anemic, but there are so few times you actually need it in sf anyhow.
Complimentary sewing kit, razors, and mouthwash, plus automatic shades that could be adjusted bedside. The staff was amicable as well.
Nice clean environment. Lobby seating area is super chill. Rooms are quaint and cozy. Bedding is good. Bar in the hotel has a nice wine selection.
Mod con !! as one would expect for the Hyatt brand.
The customer service was very accommodating, cleanliness was on fleek, and very close to the city attractions.
A great hotel, one of the best options in San Francisco, great service provided, amazingly comfortable.
Overall was an ok stay.
The pros:
- Very nice location
- Rooms are quite nice
The cons:
- The Service at the reception and at the brunch are not very friendly nor welcoming
- The breakfast options are limited (and cost nearly 40 USD)
I did not check out the gym.
The location is solid as it puts you in the heart of the downtown core. The staff were incredibly friendly and some where very genuine.
The hotel itself is fine, not sure it's a nice as other Grand Hyatt's. Some elevators weren't operating making the ones that were, very slow and full. The OneUp lounge was satisfactory but nothing too special.
Unfortunately our room was very stuffy and we were unable to get the temperature adjusted comfortably.
Highlights were the friendly staff and fantastic room service. If I had to choose which San Francisco Hyatt to stay at- I would pick the Regency.
Nice location for a conference. The top floor provides excellent views and ample space for large networking areas!
Comfortable and clean. Very good service and food, but the noise of rocking building was really scary.
The room was nicely appointed, the highlight were the automatic blinds that at a touch of a button would open floor to ceiling for a beautiful view of San Francisco. The location by union square is also great.
This is an incredible hotel. It's got the perfect placement to do or go anywhere in the city. There's plenty of food options nearby but there's a restaurant and bar inside also. The views are breathtaking. I doubt there's a better view anywhere else. The view is worth the price alone.
Loved our stay here. Hotel was upscale, comfortable, and the staff was very courteous. Near restaurants and shopping. Will definitely return
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! The rooms are modern, clean, and have excellent views of the city. After a two week stay for work, I can definitely recommend this hotel for its comfort and high quality of service.
Attentive to requests, comfy beds. Feathers flew out of the quilts and got stuck up our noses. That wasn't fun. They also forgot about one requested item but were very accommodating beyond that. I'd recommend The Grand Hyatt to others.
I love the Hyatt Grand! Fabulous hotel in Union SQ!
Room was great. Super clean, and all fresh/new decor. Stay in Hyatts often this was definitely one of the best. Location is also excellent.
Great views, clean rooms, beautiful property. The only thing I don't like it the steep price of valet parking.
Very nice hotel.
Great customer service
Good service and clean hotel. Very well located too.
a comfortable and very convenient hotel, with high housekeeping standards and attentive staff. the rooms are attractive if somewhat small, and have adequate work space. there is not really a gourmet restaurant in the hotel but many nearby in the neighborhood.
This is one of standing Hotel anything you can think of they have that you may need in hotel servicing and business accounts as well like anywhere else you get what you paid for and hear you will pay but you will receive best hotel in the city!

Our guest room was arranged on the 42nd floor which it offers fantastic city view and the beds & pillows were extremely comfortable .
Great location and the breakfast was pretty good.
Our stay at the hotel was very nice. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because there is a lot of dust in our room. Overnight, a bunch of dust collected on our phones.
Celebrating our anniversary. This hotel did everything they could to ensure a wonderful time. We had a couple issues, mostly related to node, but they moved us or took care of it immediately. Great work and pros to the front desk staff.
The hotel is very comfortable and the rooms are big.
The location at the heart of San Francisco can't be beaten. The hotel itself is incredible. The rooms are great and modern. The showers are excellent. There are great views in every direction, so there's no need to worry about which side of the building your room is on. While I was there, the OneUp restaurant featured a Christmas seafood buffet, which was excellent. The room service is great as well. However note that the menu is a bit limited and that there is a $5 fee in addition to 22% gratuity added on to the price of the meal. Overall, this is my favorite hotel in San Francisco. It's in the heart of the city and offers great access to the city's wonderful public transportation, including the cable car stop a block west of the hotel.
Very nice hotel. Very great place for the small event held. Will definitely come back
Granted, we upgraded and got all the perks... but the place was very clean, the staff were all friendly and polite when talking to you, even though the building is older everything still felt up to date
Great service and super comfortable room. Staff is very helpful and went out of the way to help. Great location too, as lots to do around and lot of restaurants around to eat.
In line with th grand Hyatt experience in other countries... staff here are very helpful
Nice location in union square and it's a busy hotel. The room is clean but a slightly small than a usual 5 stars hotel
I'll return to this hotel if i came back to SF. Really enjoy my week there. Workers are very nice and the rooms are comfortable
Fantastic service and great location, right in the heart of Union Square.
Comfiest bed and pillow I ve ever used.
Staff and concierge very helpful and friendly, I had a great stay here.
Nice hotel, good service
They make u pay for everything like package collection (this was new to me)
Great check-in experience. Large, clean rooms, with very large smart TVs and comfortable beds Housekeeping can be a problem, if you need your room in the early afternoon. The hotel does not provide the normal doorknob cards we have come accustomed to use to post our needs. The restaurant's have excellent food and service. However, tables are somewhat small and crowded
Very helpful staff. Rooms are clean. The diamond lounge was great and not too crowded.
In the centre of city, accessible to most shopping centres
Great location and amenities. Staff hospitable and easy to deal with.
This is a home away from home. Even with just 2 trips, the bellman, the concierge and every worker at the lobby floor greets you like family. They have just renovated and it gives a lighter feeling when you enter. The rooms are small, as with a lot of San Francisco hotels, but well designed and with great views.
Staff are very polite and courteous. Will supply almost anything you can think of if you forgot to pack it. Great dining option available on-site. Great beds. Very clean and love the automatic shades! Slightly dated styling, but not ugly.
Food was good. Wine was good. Was a bit boring. Service was attentive but maybe not the gregarious type I was looking for.
Great service, very welcoming. Parking's located in another building which took some time to hunt. Food quality at the Grand Club was surprisingly good with friendly staff.
Always great to stay there. Rooms are very comfy and the club is a nice place to relax.
Great location. In the heart of Union Square. Great security. Walking distance to many areas....
Attended a 2 day technology conference at the Grand Hyatt. I wasn't an overnight guest, but did spend several house in the hotel and felt very well taken care of. Food was great, and service was meticulous. I'd imagine the experience would be similar for an overnight guest.
One of my favorite hotels. It s right in the heart of San Francisco. It serves an excellent breakfast. I love the lounge.
Great hotel and amenities. Room was large and modern with a great bathroom. Location was great as well.
Just checked into a "premier" room. Room is huge. Nice decor. Great view of union square. On the 33rd floor. Website said there was a premium surround system. Instead we got this dinky little speaker with terrible sound. I rented the room to host friends. This totally ruins it. Don't risk it. Go somewhere else.
Awesome hotel. You pay for it but it's worth it. Clean. Quiet spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Staff have a can do attitude. I asked for a room with a bay view, they couldn't do it initially, then later that day they helped me move, that's awesome. Really nice atmosphere and decor with so many places to work or relax downstairs. Loved it.
Great location - prices are pretty high. Staff is very friendly. THe place seems well maintained. If you are driving to SF and staying here, don't forget there is a self park on the corner just diagonal from the hotel and thus a much cheaper parking rate. I had been here and had a breakfast about a year ago that was outstanding. Since then this last time 12/2016 it was a bit of let down. Not nearly as good.
Great views. Great service. The place to stay In San Francisco. Great location.
Great place good breakfast in the middle of inner city of SF
Great hotel, we always enjoy the stay here. It is grand indeed.highly recommend.
Very convenient location.
Great hotel on the heart off union square. Extremely clean hotel and rooms. Outstanding hospitality service. Overall one of the best places to stay while in San Francisco.
Wonderful views, located in the midst of one of the finest cities in the world. Just wish I could afford to stay there.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, fair price for what is offered. Location is right near union square which is convenient.
Excellent Hotel right next to the union square Apple store and walkable to all the main shopping areas. Stayed on the 29th level, King bed room. Nice views of city and water. Rooms are actually quite large which was surprising. Very clean. Appears to have been recently renovated as rooms and fixtures appear quite update. Not super high fixtures and fittings but more than good enough for the price. Staff are excellent. Breakfast buffet area is too small for a hotel of this size. Gym on the top floor is massive with nice views. Best thing for me was they also have this free 5 deliveries which is awesome as saves all the potential arguments or requiring a mandatory fee/tip per package with reception when your say, Amazon package arrives. Highly recommended.
Location:5/5
Rooms: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Price: 5/5 when compared to other 5 star hotels.
Rooms are decent with new renovations, amenities are not good -- the gym and rooftop area leave a lot to be desired.
**EDIT**
I originally gave this hotel a 4 star review, however, there had been construction happening outside the hotel for the entire week I've been here and it never ends -- noisy all night and really noisy around 7am. This may not be the fault of the hotel directly, but the experience sucked. As such, I cannot recommend this hotel while the construction is going on -- call and see before staying.
Stayed for 12 nights and netted out earning only 1,500 points. Is that for real? 35k for a free night. 12 nights and ONLY 1,500?! Will never stay at a Hyatt again when Marriott actually rewards loyalty... Bonvoy all the way.
Service: 5+ stars; super helpful and kind and had accomodations for our dog and protocols for covid prevention in addition to an on-sight convenience/cafe bar that was open until 10 or so which was useful
Bay View: 5 stars; view of the coast, Alcatraz, Coit tower, and plenty little gems of the city without direct sunlight coming in. Still so nice even with the smokey haze (gotta love CA wildfires season). You can even crack open the window a little (there's a lock to prevent opening it further) and get some nice breeze in but it's SF so be warned
Room itself: 4 stars; bed wasn't super comfy but I wouldn't call it bad, the front door needs new seals around it (hallway light and noise was very noticeable) and AC didn't seem to be working very well but the decor was a nice contemporary that felt upscale, the toiletries were good quality, and there was coffee, an ice machine, all the usual items. Also the hardwood floors were great since it's a pet friendly room, but beware there is a rug under the bed if you have a naughty puppy but ours did fine with pads set out and trips outside.
Overall I'd definitely suggest a stay!
Hotel is in a great location. Is in walkable distance to many great locations like Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf and is located next to Union square.
Great location at the heart of union square. It's in proximity to an Apple store, so prepare to be have walk through a field of tools. Very accommodating and friendly staff. It's also as nice and clean as you'd expect,
Service and food were great. Only thing is the conference was on the ballroom level, two levels underground. It felt a bit locked in, there was no cell connection down there.
Great location. I would have expected better breakfast for the price.
Great location and lovely hotel. Convenient to assess to main attractions like union square, market street, cable car, Chinatown. Room has great view over the Bay and make sure you get a room at 20 something floors to get a beautiful view. Go to 36 floors to see a better view of the costume and Bay. Room is clean except no daily water is provided. The level 2 lounge is great with reasonable price and choices of wine. The Starbucks is just right opposite of you are a Starbucks drinker..
What a great job they did with the renovations at this property. The lobby is very cool and modern, food is very good and the entire design of the common areas and rooms is very clean, modern and comfortable. Feels like home. Great job, I've stayed there before and I'm planning events there soon. I'm not a big fan of big hotel chains but Hyatt is probably my favorite one, always improving.
I used to love this grand hyatt, but room is getting dirtier each visit. Very dusty and bad lighting. Location is great just a block away from Union sq.
The Grand Hyatt was absolutely amazing. From the rep checking us in to the maid who cleaned our room (had 3 month baby) to everything in between. We had a great experience, recommend it to others, and will be back in the future.
Room was beautiful besides the lack of outlets. Great view. Service was wonderful.
great location and service, but very, VERY thin walls. you can hear your neighbor sneeze and use the toilet...and so much more
I happened stay there one night during ISSCC conference since my friend had double queen bed room for himself reserved by his company and I decided not walk back to my place late night through downtown San Francisco Downtown. I like everything there except the fact that I won't be able to afford it myself.
Nice spot. One of the better Hyatt that I've visited... Common areas are better than the room, always need to be refreshing those but still a nice spot very central to Union Square
Really nice rooms. Hotel catered meals in the ballrooms were actually quite good.
We stayed here on a week long trip to SF IN 2018. It was well worth the money. Walking distance of Chinatown and right around the corner from a cable car pickup point. Beautiful hotel and great staff.
