Great views of downtown, comfortable rooms, and convenient location to access the Riverwalk, la Villita, and Hemisphere Park. The staff were friendly and helpful. A 24-hour coffee shop in the lobby is a nice touch. I especially liked the parking - self-parking is available and it's in an enclosed garage under ground next to the hotel. We were able to continue using the parking after checking out so we could do some more exploring, and we returned the room key card when we were finally ready to leave town. It was very convenient given the usual parking situation in downtown San Antonio!

Get hotel has a very professional feel to it. The interior and exterior of the building are modern and beautiful. In the lobby, there is a little cafe/breakfast area to buy lunch along with a bar equipped with alcohol. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

For two nights in a row, our next door neighbors were extremely loud and you could hear everything through the thin walls of the hotel. The second night, we called the hotel staff and they took care of it, which we appreciated. The first day, we had vouchers for any restaurant in the hotel The Ruth Chris restaurant was sorely understaffed (at least this is what we were told), and even though it was half empty, we wouldn't get served even if we were seated. The hostess was extremely rude, and very short with us. I get that she was stressed by the many people she was turning away (and losing a lot of business for the restaurant I'm sure), but she shouldn't have taken it out on us. We ended up going to a different restaurant because we knew we wouldn't be served for a long time. Other members of our party ordered room service, which they said was not great quality for the price and took hours to come, so we were glad we didn't wait around. After being gone from 8pm-230pm, we thought that this would be enough time for the cleaning crew to come by and clean our room. Since they hadn't, we put a no disturb sign on the door and were taking a nap. Regardless, the cleaning lady still knocked several times on our door, waking us up, and then asking multiple times if we wanted the room clean. I know she meant well, but that's what the No disturb sign on the door meant.

Although I was overall disappointed by our stay, there were definite positives. The entrance is beautiful and dramatic with high ceilings (but I suppose this made my expectations higher). The room was pretty nice although I wasn't sure why we got two double beds as a couple. Not sure if we were not even offered a choice. We also had a banquet ceremony that we were attending, and the venue as well as the production was very nice and the food decent.

The location is wonderful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking options are very limited. We used valet, and didn't realize it was $39 / day.

The reason for the 4 star rating though, has very little to do with the hotel, but was still part of our experience there. A good sized conference was going on while we were there. The people attending the conference were mostly very nice, but they would hang out in the lobby in the morning and afternoon. The crowd was large enough that it made it difficult to navigate a family through the lobby. This is not the hotels fault, but was part of staying here. The hotel is connected to a convention center.

This is always my first choice for a hotel in San Antonio. Free parking, quiet rooms, and right on the River Walk. If you are staying here, walk to the Tower of the America's for dinner at least once; you won't regret it.

Update 9/2018 - I recently came here for a conference, and my personal coffee tumbler (a Starbucks cup that I had used for years) disappeared after one of the meals. After checking in with the hotel's staff, lost and found, and the conference hosts, a member of the Hyatt staff actually went to a local Starbucks store and bought a replacement tumbler for me. This hotel continues to impress me each time that I visit.

If you are attending a convention, there is NO question, this IS the hotel to stay at. And, if your not attending a convention, same answer! Beautiful rooms, great amenities, close to everything in San Antonio that you would like to or need to see!

Expensive, average standard hotel in a very central location of San Antonio. Rooms are clean but rather basic. Huge modern TV but very difficult to control from the provided remote controller. Safe box, refrigerator and coffee set in the room. Water is not free, it costs 3 Dollars per bottle. WiFi is free and reliable. No bathtub in a standard room. All hotel services are extremely expensive. No breakfast in the hotel, to have the breakfast you have to go to a steakhouse in the basement. Check-in and check out fast and friendly. Riverwalk entrance just around the hotel's corner. Staff is professional and responsive.

As classy as hotels I have stayed in Chicago. Also they have ARGO TEA. I live in San Antonio and have been on the hunt for this tea for about two years. Well... on a trip over to the little cafe I bought a cookie and saw that they had it there... I was so happy and besides myself. That made my whole day.

BE WARE ! I spoke to 3 different supervisors about a charge on my credit card and every single one of the supervisors said a different story as to why they couldn't refund my credit card. Grand Hyatt is pathetic when it comes to customer service. It's no longer about the charge but get your stories together so that you can be consistent with your customers!

Great amenities, cleaning through out the facility was on point. Staff very cordial and attentive. Rooms are huge and comfortable. Beds were clean.

Great location if you prefer taking a stroll across downtown s main attractions, just a couple minutes from main streets.

The rooms aren't terrible and were cleaned well, but it's very evident that not much planning goes into how they will direct traffic during very large conferences such as AVID. It took my friend 3 HOURS to check in because the line was that long. If you know thousands of people are coming in on one day there should be more staff available and a better system in place.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location was convenient and easy to access from the freeway. The only complaints is that the ac did not get as cold as we would have liked and the beds were not very comfortable.

Frustrating hotel stay! First received two double beds when we brooked a king. Had to provide proof before they moved us. The hotel was sold out and had three separate conferences /events occurring at the same time. They were not prepared to handle this many people even though they could physically accommodate them The lines for the elevators stretched down the halls! The lobby cafe did not open until 6 am. There were thousands of people who had conferences scheduled for eight am. By the time the cafe opened the line stretched throughout the lobby and no additional staff was assigned to assist. The pool bar was closed which forced the 100 people who were hot and thirsty to go to the local liquor stores. No food is available poolside. The hotel did not take the time to understand the needs of their guests based upon the conferences they were attending. Service was slow and drinks cost 22 each!! You could go directly downstairs to Ruth Chris steakhouse and pay less for a drink!!!! Additionly The tv remote did not allow you to raise the volume and was difficult to change the channels. Overall a very frustrating stay!

Had extremely difficult reservations a suite + 2 rooms with little details requested for each room. They met them all.

Only issue was previous people had unplugged the casting service to use the hdmi we had to get engineering to come out. By the time I got up the elevator engineering was there waiting for me.

Great stay. Although I dont like the food smell on the bottom floor. Makes me thing it smells like puke. None of our other guest smelt that though

-Great location on the river walk.

-Great location on the river walk.
-found several hairs + dusty items in our room
-carpet in our room was filthy! My little girl was crawling around and her knees and shoes both were covered in black smudges. I didn't connect the dots until we spilled something and I grabbed a washcloth and wetted it to wipe the spot off and it turned black almost instantly. That really disgusted me.
- wasn't too crazy about the food options inside the hotel. Even the breakfast buffet at Ruth's Chris was extremely repetitive
-parking is a joke. $29 if you self park...$39 to include valet. We tried to do self parking and couldn't find a spot... the valet service was fast considering all things and they were courteous once we got out of our car to talk to them. You can come and go as you please.
-comfy beds and pillows
-room was very small even after we upgraded and we heard a lot of noise from the roads and elevator. (We were right up against the elevator, but 24 floors up and could still here trucks or maybe trains?)

I came to San Antonio for a dental conference and I have come in the years past many times and stayed at the grand Hyatt by the convention center but something about this year was so much better!
The valet guy's were so sweet offered everyone water while we waited for our vehicles, didn't drive them fast or crazy! (Which some do) the valet manager or supervisor at the time even offered little boys hot wheels cars to have. The front desk check in young lady was nice and accommodating. My room was spotless and beautiful. We ate at Ruth's Chris multiple times while we were there and it was beyond amazing. The hotel bar wait staff was prompt and our drinks and snacks were so delicious! I recommend this hotel 100% if you're ever staying in San Antonio!!! Thank y'all for the amazing experience!
