Grand Hotel Suisse-Majestic Review

The hotel rooms are not large, but the hotel balcony does the job.
First of all, the interior of the room is very clean and the amenities are L'Occitane. And if it's a lake view, it's awesome to go out to the balcony and enjoy the night view while having a beer.
The hotel is clean, and the restaurant inside the hotel is a highly rated restaurant nearby. There was no oriental food for breakfast, but it was neat and nice.
The staff are so friendly and thank you for giving me all the basic explanations about Montreux.
It is also good to take a walk along the lake in front.

Nice well-kept hotel with friendly staff. Very nice location: central and yet quiet. Breakfast room is too small. Breakfast buffet is not very large and would have to be improved regarding hygiene (protection of food in front of people who have colds).

An absolutely amazing hotel. Wonderful bedrooms clean, modern and spacious. The only small negative was the bed was a little hard and the room a little hot. The air con was on a circuit so it had not been switched on, as we visited in Feb for Valentine's day.

The service was exquisite, the standard of a 5 star hotel. The Grand Hotel Majestic overlooks Lake Geneva and the views were breathe taking. The hotel is situated in the centre of Montreux so great for visiting restaurants in the town. Definitely will be heading back at some point.

Breakfast is ashamed for 5 stars. The omelette ordered separately was only served two more times, and it came out like dog food with a fishy egg smell.

Absolutely fantastic. This hotel is beautifully decorated and makes the most of the amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Every part of the hotel has a great view, and it is full of natural light and a good atmosphere. Photos don t do it justice!

The staff were also faultless and so helpful. The food and drink were expensive but delicious, we will definitely be back!

Comfortable and elegant hotel. It has a wonderful view of the lake from the restaurant and the rooms. The room was comfortable. The overall feel of the hotel is classy. The room needs an electrc kettle though. Also, the bathroom is a bit small. The spa, and gym facilities are excellent. The breakfast buffet was good.

Very bad service, NO Carrier bags to help you with your bags and lazy stuff. Also, there is no parking at all.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay after a long trip from the US. The hotel is beautiful and well taken care of. The bathroom is sparkling clean and the beds comfortable. The location is great - right across from the train station and just a short walk to the lake.

The rooms with a lake view are great! That, coupled with the location make this place a gem. However, I was disappointed with the breakfast, while the views are incredible, the buffet lacks a large selection of food.

After having already spent our summer vacation in July of last year, we again made the choice to stay in this magnificent hotel with its cordial staff. A splendid view of the lake and the snow capped mountains from our eighth floor suite.

We stayed in august 2018 on the 7th floor with a stunning view of the lake. The hotel is super, nice and very very well located. Its just opposite the station but we had no noise problem in our room. The hotel says they are 4 star superior but a few things could improve like having a kettle and tea/coffee in the room, they did give the same on request. The staff is friendly and nice but they do not have a concierge and all staff at the reception are not fully informed for tourists, but they do have basic information. The breakfast area overlooks the lake. The room size is decent but the bathrooms are small. They do have an extra service charge for room service which ended up us having a tea for 10 swiss francs. Overall a nice stay and experience and recommend to stay here.

Great hotel, everything works very well except the room service which is slow and very time consuming

This is an amazing hotel. The rooms are big, the products are great, super clean, friendly staff.

The property is indeed very beautiful. Too bad for the absence of a parking lot inside the hotel that forces you to pay for the private one not far from the hotel. The negative note, the one that really ruined everything was the pillow. From the appearance it seemed perfect for those like me who sleep on their side but as soon as I put my head down it has literally turned into a sheet of paper ... very thin and uncomfortable. For the rest, nothing to say. Overlooking the lake and very clean room and bathroom ... finally a hotel without carpet.

Cocktails terrace overlooking Lake Geneva, great time. The staff is very professional, normal for an establishment of this standard. Cocktails of the 7 deadly sins: a cocktail of laziness to enjoy for a long time, with a giant straw.

Their Restaurant 45 is superb with sweeping views across the lake and to the Alps.

Great amjestic terrace in the summer for cocktails and snacks.

Sublime view and building in irreproachable state.
Room service and terrace impeccable and access from train station very easy on foot.

By car sufficient city parking but in the summer provide a paid parking.

Location is ideal and the property is very nice. Service was lacking/inconsistent for us. Could have been the change of season with seasonal staff leaving soon, but the apathy of most employees was palpable.

Small bathroom, bed "sliding" on the non-carpeted floor - not a great room at all.
The rest of the facilities was great with a really nice restaurant with a fantastic view on the lake.

Except for it's inadequate elevator facilities, the hotel is fabulous in all aspects!

Because I paid 261 francs for a room with a double bed overlooking the lake and they put me two singles, who think we are dumb or queee, I went through all of Europe of hotels and this is a joke, they go that it is a special hotele and more current can not be

To say my friends and I had a 'good' time at the Grand Hotel Suisse would be an understatement equivalent to saying croissants in Switzerland are just as good as they are in hong kong. The location gave us everything we wanted, from the festive Christmas markets to the alpine train day trips with views worthy of their own review. The price was fair, the rooms clean but the by far the biggest stand out of the trip was the helpful, pleasant and downright incredible staff. From helping us organize day trips to directing us along the streets of Montreux, we could not ask for a nicer welcome into our holiday. Thank you grand hotel Suisse, and I hope we can make our way back here some day!

Unpleasant service, tea served in a dirty cup and on a table not clean ...

The basis for an establishment of this type is to provide a quality of service .. my experience is as follows: 23/07/2019 we arrive around 14h indicating wanting to have a drink and a dessert on the terrace .. we are directed to the terrace of the bar .. we receive the card and we finally fall for tapas + cocktails + dessert .. the coffee table is not practical to eat the waitress at the bar offers us to sit at a table on the terrace at the restaurant ( at 5 meters from our coffee table but at a real table) .. but first you have to ask the authorization of the head of the restaurant ... and there, categorical refusal! Yet there were only 3/4 tables occupied in the restaurant .. and all the others were already prepared ready to welcome someone .. I do not know if it is for laziness or contempt ("bar customer" ) but next time we will go to the Fairmont!

Nice and cozy hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast very varied, only the staff in the breakfast room could be more friendly and courteous. Otherwise, the hotel is absolutely recommendable because from there, or from the easily accessible promenade, the wonderful sunsets on Lake Geneva can be observed.

Perfect home, breathtaking 7th floor lake view. Breakfast with a lot of choices. Perfect location between the train station and the Christmas market.
