As soon as you step inside, you will realize this is not what you imagined. The room is very small and smelly, and you don't want to get any part of your body to be touched by the couch and bed sheet, and it's full of mosquitos. It seems like you're in a prison. If you're looking for a place for suicide, this would be the perfect place, otherwise do not waste your money and time in this crappy hotel.

Your hotel is a nightmare and the worst memory of my trip to Italy.

Save your money. Do not go there.
NOTHING is good at this hotel. It is old, smells bad, bathroom is ugly and not clean.

Full center you can visit everything on foot after it is an old palace with its inconvenient and its advantages

A bit of a mean score. I would have given it a 3.5 if possible. For a 5 star hotel it's all a bit rough round the edges. Carpets fraying, paint in rooms worn, bathroom not cleaned thoroughly, tiles in shower still had soap marks from prior guests that still hadn't been cleaned by the time we left. The staff are friendly and helpful and the communal area downstairs is incredible, pop your head just see this if your in town.

Never stay for the new year party. It will be the most boring and sad (lond but hungry) evening. Such a disappointing experience. We stayed 2years ago was much better. Now just sad.

This is a beutiful hotel in a 5 star location, they upgraded us to a suite!! balcony overlooking the main st, fab-u-lous!!

A fantastic evening staff attentive to customer needs and available to any special requests, excellent food for celiacs, better than normal. Recommended for everyone and for special events.

I can t speak to the quality of the rooms because I have never stayed at this hotel, but as I was walking around shopping I needed to go to the bathroom and I was not confronted as I walked inside and used their bathroom. It was a very nice bathroom too, so they totally deserve 5 stars

Experience regarding my sister's wedding dinner dating back to September 1999. Beautiful rooms, excellent hospitality. It was a beautiful and unforgettable evening. The really delicious dinner is all fresh. Very well done centerpiece. Years later I have a great memory.

I visited this hotel for an event and found it extremely opulent. Maybe too much. Personally I would recommend it only if you love super-luxurious or very classic things.

The hotel is beautiful, well located! Cafe and restaurant leave something to be desired ... One of the receptionists was rude! We stayed for 4 days in 2 suites, 8 suitcases that I made them myself before Rome. They robbed us of clothes, toys, shampoos, spices, socks and even briefs !! From the number of things that have robbed us, I believe there is a gang of thieving officials, because a single person would not have the courage to steal as many things as they have been stolen. And it's no use putting a license plate, because an official appeared in the room with towels in the hand asking if we had asked for an exchange ... An absurdity! Sad experience ...

We entered this hotel for an aperitif and it is fantastic when I go up there willingly

It is not a 5 star hotel. It does not have room service 24 hours and the installers are in a deplorable state. In favor has the location and what has already been said regarding the staff. Excessive prices for what it offers.

Very classic in perfect city location. In center of Roma. Old rooms and in desperate need to revamp rooms in all aspects. I love their lobby and big setting area with friends and family when it's too hot outside.
I loved the staff who were very friendly and always helpful. They made my family's Rome experience amazing.

Service at the front desk was a bit chaotic, shower had no curtain and some of the lights didn't work. Cleaning service was fantastic however

My experience in this hotel was so bad, I actually felt the need to write this as my first hotel review. This hotel can by no means be called a 5stars hotel.
The staff at the reception was so unprofessional and disrespectful.

Don't be fooled by the luxurious lobby, the rooms aren't as nice as one would expect them to be.

Rooms were large, but beds were hard as a rock, wallpaper was coming off the walls, and there was no enclosed area to shower. In addition, my shoes were stolen from my room. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Previously, we stayed in an Airbnb in the same area which was less expensive and absolutely amazing!

The worst hotel I have ever been to. The staff stole my bvlgari bracelet from the room that I left next to the bed and the staff at the reception were so careless when I told them about it. There were also a lot of small insects on the bed. I don't recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

Old world elegance is what immediately strikes you as you enter the revolving door of this 150 year old hotel. You'll be taken back in time with the intricate interiors of this charming hotel. There are numerous paintings everywhere and the drawing / bar room is impressive. The rooms are comfortable with foyers and brightly lit toilets. Beds are comfortable too

Disappointing! As soon as we arrived, they asked us to pay the bill (euro1580 x 2 nights) and the room was not ready at 3.00pm. We take possession of it at 4.00 pm, the bed with a mattress, the small terrace (the only pleasant view, note ..) furnished with stained yellow plastic furniture .. The day after leaving the room at 9.30 am, we go back to 17 to rest and unfortunately no one had done it again! If you use bubble bath know that they will not be replaced. What else to say?

I have been reading the reviews online and a lot of them are negative, but this hotel is really not that bad! In fact the hotel rooms are new and overall the experience are very good! Staffs are very helpful and it's very clean, if you want a new hotel of course you are not looking for here, this building built at the 1860s. I came here because I wanted to experience Rome's culture. It is even better than I expected in overall. I would have gave this hotel 5 stars but the air conditioner broke down middle of the night, bight side is the staff came in and repaired it in 30 minutes. I wouldn't mind that honestly.

Very good location. Right at the heart of the shopping street. Walking distance from spanish steps, trevi fountain.
Staff was super friendly & helpful.
Of course the building itself has aged, perhaps not in ita best condition. Its 150 years old.
Rooms need an upgrade. Its really old. The sofa is in bad condition. Beds are huge but has aged as well. Housekeeping needs to do a better job. carpets are dusty. Breakfast is not good. Very little choice.
Pro : the staff, location. if you like historical buildings.
Cons: hotel is not greatly maintained, breakfast need more choices, if you like a better rooms option more comfy beds, perhaps another hotel is your choices nearby.
