The location is very good.
Service is not bad, not good.
They don't do anything remarkable for you, but they don't do anything

Located in Central Roma, Fabulous Hotel, The service is excellent and morning breakfast is very well attended, as you have a great variety of foods for everyone's taste. Book this Hotel if you wish to be in the middle of the best shopping in all of Italy and just a short walk to the famous Piazza Venecia.

I never write reviews, but to save someone the hassle, I put some time into this. After paying around $700-$800 for three nights, I expected a little more. When we checked in, they offered us an upgrade to a delux room. We were very excited. I initially thought our room was nice, had a couch, spacious, and a nice bathroom. Plus, room service wasn t too bad If ordered, we didn t.

The room was convenient to walk to different locations, big plus.

Negatives,
The bed was a flat mattress on a platform. Kind of like a pull out couch. We are 26-27 year olds and don t not normally have problems sleeping on a bad mattress, but this kept you up every hour.

There is not a shower in the room. You have to take a bath every time. This bathtub was very nice, but it is very inconvenient when you want to get in and out quick.

Not a huge deal because we were out of the room most days, but the TV was a 32 inch. It was high on the wall across the room and with the room being somewhat large; it was hard to view. With Rome being so hot and crowded, it s nice to relax with the TV for a few hours, but hard to do when you only have one English Channel and it s across the room. It would be nice to have a feature to change the primary language for all the out-of-towners.

Rome was extremely hot, so coming back to an air conditioned room would have been good; however ours didn t work. I read on reviews this is a common problem. It appears they have not fixed it yet.

The hotel offers parking. It is not attached and is very difficult to navigate to. You pay $30.00 a night to drive yourself or you can valet for $65.00 a night.

The hotel was beautiful in the lobby, but I would not recommend or stay here again. It s not convenient and not worth a five star rating.

Never settle in this motel. I travel a lot. The most creepy hotel. Cockroaches, dirt, staff hams, torn bedding, ceiling made of cut plywood, the door to the bath does not close, towels in lipstick, a terrible noise from the street through the windows with slots.

As being a 4 stars hotel at one of the main Street in Rome. I think there r lot of factors need to be improved. There are a lot of "sounds" from the bedframe the flooring also. Besides, breakfast is really not up to standard and the taste is not nice at all. Service on breakfast need to be improved also, as a cup of coffee and omellete need to wait for 20 mins.

Definitely not 5 star. No irons, had to pay 70 euro for just ironing of five items. Won't give you an iron to iron yourself. Just unacceptable for a supposed 5 star. Beds too short. Bathrooms need updating. Great location...too pricey for what you get.

The big plus of the hotel is the location right in the center of Rome. Everything important is within walking distance. However, the rooms are no longer 5 star standard, more three in Germany or Austria. The staff is not enough for this level, sometimes much lower. The room service is very average, in no case 5 stars. The auditorium and the breakfast area are grandiose and visually outstanding. The staircase also shows the old splendor.

I know that is a Plaza, and it's in Rome, but it was totally a delusion!
Apart the style, baroc everywhere, but it can be nice if you like it or you have a nice approach, but unfortunately the chambers were completely old style and also it wasn't almost impossible flush the toilet properly.
Service is nice, 'of course, is a Plaza hotel, but I think the price was overestimated for the offert.
Breakfast was good, I have to admit.
If it was a normal hotel, you can tolerate some things or imperfection, but in this case I think is really terrible the impact.

I can't believe I'll write my first negative review ever for the hotel I admired.

My only experience with your hotel so far was the wedding I shot here in 2012, and I came back right now to grab a coffee at the bar and show this beautiful historical building to my girlfriend. The waiter (has no name tag) was extremely rude and literally laughed to her face when she asked for the directions to the toilet.

Not only this is unacceptable for a hotel employee, but it's also hypocritical. You my friend (if you're by any chance reading this text), are an employee of the hotel in which we came as guests. Therefore your talking down at guests and laughing at their face is pretty much a misperception of positions between the two. You are here to serve us and be polite. I expected no more or less. It's as simple as this. Before your next shift when you look at yourself in the mirror remember this.

Last time I checked at any hotel I used - guests aways come first. Luckily you were booked for our period of stay in Rome so we had to book an alternative place. I can assure you I won't be staying here or recommend you to anyone.

This happened on April 10th at 4pm approximately.

Thank you,
Marko

If you are traveling as a family of more than 3, beware that they do not allow more than 2 if you did not tell them this, they will make you pay for an extra room because the police might come and close them down. Do not order breakfast included since its 30 euro per person. Rude receptionist

Dear potential customers of the Grande Hotel Plaza...

Dear potential customers of the Grande Hotel Plazas in Rome. If you are looking for a hotel where you can feel comfortable, where the staff is taking care of your problems and you are well treated, those are at the wrong address. So sorry to point this out but I know for sure Sources, that there were incidents there, the possible sums have been lost and the management seems to accept this but in the end no finger touches. If I am not wrong I assume here no intent but enormous negligence. I mean it can not be that in one of their hotels money is stolen and the management does not move a finger and then refuses to admit the mistake and pay off the money or deduct it from the bill. In my opinion, completely incomprehensible.

If it were a 2 star hotel, I would be happy, but pay what we paid for a shabby room, with everything old from the door, carpet, spring mattress, pillow like pieces of foam ... it seems like a scam. Really, look for another Hotel nearby because that if the location is excellent. I do not understand that it has 5 stars L

A very beautiful old lady. Rooms are quaint with their old fashioned charm, however the bathroom showers need updating and corridors need decorating. Quite expensive for what you get, but that's probably down to the perfect location.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location of the rest, it is never a 5-star hotel the room was in poor condition they do not even put water to drink I asked for a room with a terrace and everything was rusty and the furniture that the least it caused was to sit Wi-Fi and I complained and they never did anything afterwards I asked that at least they change my room and they didn't give me any interest in the end the next day I left because I couldn't stand another day there! And I got one in the same area and beautiful!

I stayed 2 nights for work.

I stayed 2 nights for work.

LIGHTS
The living rooms on the ground floor are spectacular, and they succeed - alone - in making a stay in this hotel memorable.
The location is also very convenient, if you want to stay in the center of Rome.

SHADOWS
My room (but in general the hotel) exudes an aura of "unkempt", which unfortunately goes beyond the pleasure of preserving old things, at the cost of some imperfection.
And so carpets and rugs give off a bit of a bad smell, the bathroom tablet is broken and "rocking" uncomfortably, the shower loses water, the TV is old and with few channels, the pillows are uncomfortable (the bed, however, not: very good ), and so on....
The staff is friendly and willing, but the service has a lot of smudges, so for breakfast there is a lack of some cutlery at the tables, and you wait 50 minutes for a club-sandwich in the room (with an estimate of 20 minutes).
The WiFi did not take in my room, and unfortunately not even the phone ... so it remains isolated.
And other small (but numerous) stumbles, which however create a general atmosphere of decay, and a certain discomfort.

A pity, because the potential of the hotel is remarkable.

I have a booking for three rooms for one night, in two of the room the bathrooms are a miss you take a shower and the bathroom turns into a swimming pool in the third room the air condition is not working I call the front disk an personally talk to them twice" we will send some one" was the best they did, the TVs were not working in all three rooms until they sent the handy man and they have no special chanels.
For the 3 rooms I paid close to 1200 Euros.

The rooms are large though.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Location is the best thing. Don't be fooled by the website and the pictures, looks nothing like it. Run down, old and tired. Its a weird place. We booked for 4 nights, checked out after 1, most uncomfortable beds I have ever paid for, my daughter slept on the floor, you could hear the water pipes and floorboards from above creaking throughout the night. No special gifts in the room such as free water bottles, the whole place needs a complete overhaul. We moved to the Hotel la de Ville absolutely gorgeous!!

the Plaza hotel is centrally located in the heart of Rome, all sights are within walking distance. The hotel is classically furnished and in particular in the hotel rooms a renovation would not be superfluous. In terms of ambient noise, a good night's sleep is not possible here, everything is noisy. even with earplugs in, sleeping is difficult. An additional stumbling block is the poor English of the staff, at the checkout they were unable to explain everything to me, so I was surprised at home with an extra credit card charge.

Great hotel with a gloss of the 19th century. Beautiful hall with a painted ceiling, the feeling that you have moved into the past. The room was clean, we noted that we have a honeymoon, as a result a bottle of prosecco awaited in the room. Very comfortable bed and great location.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location.
On the Via del Corso, where the most popular stores are located. The amenities, terrible. They only put a single soap and a shampoo during your entire stay. The towels are not changed, they gave me the 2nd night only 1 and we were 2 people. Somewhat old hotel, typical of a hotel in the historic center. The decoration is interesting, very similar to what you find in a palace, it is not bad only that it lacks restoration.
I would only return for the proximity to the sights.

The room itself was OK... Didn't feel like a 5 star though... Hard mattress and pillows..but typical in many Rome hotels. We checked for bedbugs just in case...none. Linens were pressed and bright white...no stains. The hotel itself was a 5 star in the breakfast buffet (discounted when purchased while booking your room -- a bargain well worth it with supreme selections and variety and polished servers) lobby, staff service, beautiful stained glass windows, marbled staircase and bathroom, ornate painted ceilings/walls in dining area and elevator... Definitely luxurious from a time past and unmatched today. Terrace was gorgeous with beautiful views. No swimming pool. Very old building. Taxis readily available across the street. This is a necessity! You don't want to drive in Rome! Taxis will return you to the airport for departure for only 48 Euros through arrangements with the hotel. They can also provide one for picking you up on arrival for the same price. Otherwise, be prepared to pay twice that much. You will be so tired from going up and down steps all day and walking on cobblestones everywhere, the hard pillows and mattress are hardly noticed. Exercise and strengthen your leg muscles to prepare for this beautiful city. I liked it more than Paris. It is cleaner than Paris as well. Give this hotel a try if you have an appreciation for charm and character. It sparkles.

Maybe a 5 star hotel 50 years ago. Only good thing was that the wifi network does not require a login. No one cares here. No bathroom soap. Towels were never replaced. Service was awful. No one answered the phone at front desk. Do NOT stay here.

We didn t stayed there but such a big hotel could allow a morher to change her baby in their toilet. Instead the guy at door looked at us like we were from Mars and never allowed us in.

Thank you for reply. I am sure a mother with his child wouldn t be a threat but I do understand your point of view. Hopefully next time he will at least ask someone as based on your location I am sure there are many people in our situation and most of foreign people will look into a place where people can speak english. Might be our fault as she tried to communicate in Italian. Really appreciate the reply and wouldn t be fair to leave the review negative while we didn t stayed there. Thank you.
