The Googleplex is the corporate headquarters complex of Google and its parent company Alphabet Inc. It is located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway in Mountain View, California, United States.

The original complex, with 2,000,000 square feet (190,000 m2) of office space, is the company's second largest square footage assemblage of Google buildings, after Google's 111 Eighth Avenue building in New York City, which the company bought in 2010.

"Googleplex" is a portmanteau of Google and complex (meaning a complex of buildings) and a reference to googolplex, the name given to the large number 10^(10100), or 10^(googol).
The original campus
SGI Campus
The site was previously occupied by Silicon Graphics (SGI). The office space and corporate campus is located within a larger 26-acre (110,000 m2) site that contains Charleston Park, a 5-acre (20,000 m2) public park; improved access to Permanente Creek; and public roads that connect the corporate site to Shoreline Park and the Bay Trail. The project, launched in 1994 was built on the site of one of the few working farms in the area and was city owned at the time (identified as "Farmer's Field" in the planning documents).[1][2] It was a creative collaboration between SGI, STUDIOS Architecture, SWA Group, and the Planning and Community Development Agency of the City of Mountain View.[citation needed] The objective was to develop in complementary fashion the privately owned corporate headquarters and adjoining public greenspace. Key design decisions placed parking for nearly 2000 cars underground, enabling SWA to integrate the two open spaces with water features, shallow pools, fountains, pathways, and plazas. The project was completed in 1997. The ASLA noted that the SGI project was a significant departure from typical corporate campuses, challenging conventional thinking about private and public space and awarded the project the ASLA Centennial Medallion in 1999.[3]

STUDIOS Architecture was the architect for the original SGI campus and provided both interior architecture and base building design.
Bay View addition

Google buildings near Shoreline Park
In 2013 construction began on a new 1.1 million square foot campus dubbed "Bay View" adjoining the original campus on 42 acres leased from the NASA Ames Research Center and overlooking San Francisco Bay at Moffett Federal Airfield. The estimated cost of the project was $120 million with a target opening date of 2015.[12][13][14]

NBBJ is the architect and this is the first time Google has designed its own buildings rather than moving into buildings occupied by previous businesses.[15]

The addition is off the northeast corner of the complex, by the Stevens Creek Nature Study Area/Shoreline Park. Before announcing the construction, Google, through its in-house real estate firm, Planetary Ventures, sought permission from the city of Mountain View to build bridges over the adjacent Stevens Creek.[16] Google's 2012 year-end annual report noted it can develop only 7 acres of the 42-acre site.[17]

Google plans a 60-acre addition designed by Heatherwick Studio and Bjarke Ingels in North Bayshore.

Hi, I'm a white, straight man of optimal health. I'd love to stop by to donate some of my privilege. I need to know what building is used for privilege donations. Also, what entrance would be the least insensitive to use? I wouldn't want to infringe or get too close to a marginalized community's safe space. I promise I won't be a disruption to your Intersectional house of prayer. I'm actually trying to become involved as an ally in my local Intersectional fellowship by taking indoctrination courses. We're almost done with Orange Man Bad exams. Next class is The Virtues of Third Trimester Abortions. #soexcited Anyway, please let me know. Cx

Google has great offices and good cafes as well. The cafes are not open to the public, but employees can invite friends and family. The Android statue garden is a bit of a disappointment, but the bikes are very nice.

Google is a great product, for sure; I use it many times a day. How sad to have opened the site this morning (Memorial Day) and not see a creative "Google" headline in remembrance of the hundreds of thousands of people who gave their lives defending our country. The great country that educated your company's founders and continues to allows us to live in a democracy with freedoms not afforded to many in this world. Shame on you!

I don't know who to contact but thank you for the birthday wishes on my google page ...it felt like it was just for me and although I know that it's something set up for all of your users, somebody at Google thought that it would be a nice thing and I will attest, it IS a nice thing! Just one more part of my day that was spectacular, rain and all! What a great birthday, thanks for contributing Google!

You deleted my review of Glassdoor for no apparent reason and gave me no means of contacting you about it. With the amount of stuff you get wrong on your search engine , your maps and Youtube overall it's only a matter of time before Americans hear a giant toilet sound coming from Mountain View. You and the rest of Silicon Valley need to get a clue before the markets end up flushing you down the toilet!

I visited here in 2010 and because of the way Google treats its employees, this is my dream company to work for. I love the area the Googleplex is in. Not too far from San Francisco at all!

Google puts their name on Google Play Gift Cards. They know there are ingenious scams and fraud involved using their gift cards. When I found i was being scammed I could find no help. I believe Google is complicit in these scams because they have done nothing, that I can see, to help people defrauded like me, to stop the fraud. Their biggest partner in this scam is Walmart who sells these cards. Walmart knows about this scam too. Still they do not provide sufficient warning.

Do NOT use Google Nest - lied to me. Short version - I inquired about adding a camera recording subscription to a new camera at a different structure than my other cameras with subscriptions. I was repeatedly assured that this would be possible if I migrated my Nest cameras to Google. After I migrated my old nest cameras and paid more money for the existing recording subscription I already had, I was told I now needed to buy a new subscription for the new camera I originally called about. To top it off, I was told that the loss of my old, less expensive subscription was permanent and so was the migration. Flat out LIED to me. Below is just part of the "chat"

In August of 2015 Rick Schaffer inspected a home we had just contracted to purchase. I thought the effort would be redundant, since the home had been sold and inspected just a few years earlier.

I was present for a portion of the inspection. The home was large with numerous items to inspect, i.e. two gas fireplaces, three ice makers, two heating/air units, numerous doors/windows as well as six bath rooms. Rick was meticulous, noting everything he found. This was helpful. Even though the list was long, it was what you would expect and minor in nature, reinforced our belief the house was a good buy.

Redundant ? No !!!! Then Rick climbed onto the steep roof, three and a half stories up. He walked the entire roof, as well as climbed atop the chase that houses the gas fireplaces and found the cap to the chase had blown off. It had been off for some time causing damage to the structure as well as mold.

Because of Rick's thoroughness we were able to get this fixed. The seller and their insurance company split the costs of the repair, $30-$36 thousand.

As a result of our experience; my wife and I would recommend Rick home inspection services to anyone purchasing a home.

Thank you Rick
