I bought a Used 2013 Journey SUV from the used 'certified' dealership in Waterford. I noticed after having the vehicle for almost 2 weeks that the brake light was coming on periodically. I had the salesman Rubin make an appointment for service in Bloomfield, HQ.
They diagnosed it as a 'Software Update' that needed to be done, and that would probably solve the issue..but at my cost?? I was not too happy with the sales manager refusing to cover this cost. I am not happy that this should have been done during 'certification' before selling...not to mention only having the vehicle for 2 weeks!!
I was more than upset, and Mr.David Denson, the service advisor gave me as much of a brake as he could at the cost of $50.00. I payed this in protest. And was concidering persueing this further...
After driving it off the lot, the first stop I made, and brake light comes on.
I snap a picture and call David, he asked me to come right back to dealer. He needed to keep the car to look at further till next day. They gave me a shuttle ride home.
The next day, David called me, they found the culprit...a bad brake sensor. David went the extra mile and told them they have to cover this cost. Thank you David!! And thank you for your courtesy, and kindness. If you had not handled this with class, it was going to be a different situation.
I am happy it is solved, thanks to David Denson.
I would also advise to review the manager of the Waterford location. When a customer has bought a 'certified' vehicle, and after 2 weeks has a problem, like 'software update needed', he should get it covered, and not tell me...
'YOU bought it as is'? Very ruid, and I very well know I have 30 days. I will never send anyone to that location to deal with a bad manager.
Instead, go to the Telegraph location.
Much better to deal with. And far better at customer care!! Thank you again, Mr.David Denson, you deserve a raise!!!
