Stayed in a basic room, nice staff, decent rooms, nothing wrong, nothing overly impressive.
My first stay in Vegas for my girlfriends birthday, this is where we went. Everything was all around great, my only gripe was the older TV is the room, and the shower didn't drain so good. Check in time was a little long, but we did come on a Friday. But its Vegas, a room is good as long as it's got a bed!
I can't believe how much the deposit was!!! 600 dollars extra on top of the what 3000 for the flight and room with those fees also!! Wow! GOOD JOB PRICELINE AND THE NUGGET!! It's a really nice hotel but for that money I should get a room at Caesars Palace!
This is a hidden gem in a nugget! The atmosphere is quite electric and is also adjoined with Freemont St. The inside is nicely made with large aquariums that house sharks! Don't forget about the upstairs club which was seriously jammin'. I haven't stayed in a room in the hotel, but if the rooms are anything as nice as the general areas around the casino, I'm sure they'd get my vote.
My review is slightly limited as I did not stay here, however, spent some time here while visiting Fremont. Service was friendly, casino was busy but a good vibe and fast drinks and the pool area was beautiful!
OMG this place is hopping!!!! Folks if you wanna have some fun head downtown to the Golden Nugget!!!!
We boycott this casino because at the entrance there's a big sign that says ," no colors allowed!" Which was directed at riding clubs and organizations. Not gangs!
Fun casino in the middle of Freemont district. Amazing pool with shark tank and fun slide with adult only pool upstairs. Good machines, fast service, poker room and restaurants. ABC store just on outside $10 Uber if you have to go to the strip.
The staff was so helpful and friendly. Didn't have to wait for a cocktail waitress like the four queens which we stayed at. For the next time be staying at golden nugget.
Nice casino in old Vegas. Be sure to stop in and see the huge gold nuggets on display.
Love this place. Old and nostalgic but complexity updated and clean
The music was great inside! And just outside you get to experience the whole front experience. The ability to transition from casino to the promonade is great!
It's really fun here! So many cool things to look at!
Rooms at Russ Tower is beautiful. Overall it's too busy and smokey. They need to work on the front desk as we found the problem we had was not solved. They gave us a run around. We paid extra for teo breakfast buffets for 8 days and never got it. They didn't send us a shuttle when we arrived. It took us has an hour to check in.
Really old casino and lot of old people spend their time with their buddies. If you re young and happening. Not your type. They have nice poker and old chairs.
Been here and stayed here several times since I love the downtown Vegas vibe. This time, only stopped by to gamble. Probably one of the cleaner hotels in downtown. Not that you can escape the decades of cigarette fumes embedded in everything. Good mix of locals and out-of-town visitors.
I was a little upset because I thought I was going to play the quarter slots and leave a millionaire. Apparently that was not the plan. #thehousealwayswins
Great place on Freemont,, not full amenities yet, it's all good,,
The view was amazing. The environment was exciting. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my stay very much.
People are friendly, feels like home. With coupons from hotel stay amazingly priced.
Seedy place. Watch your belongings. My husband was sitting at a table, when he got up to leave his phone and souvenir cup was missing. They have cameras for everything but couldn't find out who stole them. Wouldn't return.
All things considered, not bad for a downtown hotel. Clean room. Cheap. Easy access for meetings.
Would stay there again! It has that special vintage Vegas charm but it s still modern. We love the Golden Nugget!
Room was huge and clean, views were great. Definitely will be staying there again.
First time in Vegas I would love to go back and take my children with me awesome
Had the Sunday Brunch at the buffet. 22.95 was too much for what we got. We were there at 11 am and evrything was dried out. You pay as you enter. I paid by card and the cashier handing me the slip to sign and circled the area for the tip and they also listed the tip figure based on percentage. 22.95 for a poor buffet, I serve myself and I should then give a 20% tip BEFORE being served? Not again.
Fun table games, nice poker room with good dealers. Giant golden nugget to view, open air pool glassed inside the casino with clear water slide that travels through the shark aquarium. That's right, sliding with the shark's. Cafe is pretty good, Lillies Asian restaurant is a kabasi style restaurant. We had the honey seared schrimp, sooooo very good, fried or white rice options. The Emperors Feast served premium filet steak, Lobster and Scallops, white or fried rice Miso soup cooked in front of you. Just fabulous, a must eat 5 star restaurant.
Great price for the stay, but I have to say grotto was the best place to eat. I had a waiter named Arturo who recommended their steak. AMAZING!! LIFE CHANGING. I will for sure come back to eat here. Arturo was the best. Great staff!
An amazing hotel that offered a fantastic Vegas experience. Great food, a very knowledgeable staff that helped out tremendously. An all-around good experience.
We enjoyed our stay. Initially, we were put in a room with piping outside of our window which was blocking any view we may have had. The desk clerk informed us they had no other rooms available. However, we talked to a manager, K.C., and he made it right for us immediately by switching us to another room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. We enjoyed being close to the Fremont experience. But be aware there are live bands playing on the street so don't expect to go to bed early. We did not feel we got much for the resort fee. They advertise that it includes 2 free bottles of water per day but what they don't tell you is you need to request them everyday. If you don't request them, they don't bring them. Also, it's nearly impossible to find an open lounge chair at the pool during the day.
I was here for a week long conference and these are the pros and cons of the Nugget. I am not a gambler so I can t tell you anything about the casino.
Pros:
On Fremont street
Nice pool and fitness center
Price was ok
Cons:
Rooms out dated
No fridge or coffee maker in room($40/night upgrade-no thanks)
Beds were not comfortable
WiFi is horrible and cell service is not very good either
Rooms are very noisy. There were ear plugs on the nightstand.
TV channel selection was not very good
Overall I would not stay here again. Place was clean and gust service was good, but if your going to charge a nightly resort fee , at least put a fridge and coffee maker in the room and make it feel like a resort.
I always stay here. Fremont Street is much more fun than the strip. The Nugget is decently priced and the rooms are always nice. Friendly staff and nice pool.
We stay at The Golden Nugget every time we go to Las Vegas which is 2-3 times per year. It has a fabulous pool area! The rooms are clean and roomy even though at times they can be a bit dated....That said, for the price you pay at The Nugget, they are FABULOUS! We have never ever had any issues with housekeeping as we have at other hotels where we paid 3 times the rate. We have stayed in all of the towers and loved them all. We always have a car and it's easy to park as long as you don't try to get into the parking at night on a weekend. Even then, if full, you can usually get valet at the Rush Tower. I also love it because I win more at this hotel than any other one. :)
There are great dining options too.
Party every night. Team no sleep! The adult games are fun for all.
I am a limo and shuttle driver...11hrs on the strip a day taking visitors back n forth from airport and around LV..the Nugget by far is the most popular downtown hotel..lots of patrons. Little complaints...
Wasn't expecting such tight comp drink rules. For downtown Vegas, shouldn't be charged when putting $20 in while sitting at a bar. Happened to our whole group. Have enjoyed this place in the past, but no more. Had far better experience at El Cortez with comps, looser slots, and promos.
We love roaming through the Nugget. It kind fits into the general vibe of Fremont and it's fun , and I usually let the slot machines eat $20.
One of the best downtown casinos hands down. I love coming here. It has the strip feel but not the strip price tag. Highly recommended
Great prices on rooms and if you don't want to pay the resort fee they have an option for it
Fun hotel in old Vegas. Low table limits, and cheap drinks. Staff were very friendly, and the inside was well kept updated and nice. Everyone needs to experience old Fremont at least once (then go back to the new part to sleep) lol
Room is dirty. Shower is broke. Very disappointing. The pool area is nice...employees are friendly and helpful.
Cool spot. Not much els 2 do but drnk & gambl. Def 1 of tha craziest pools in lv. Wrth tha stop
I recently went to the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, and I absolutely loved it. The hotel and casino has a relaxed and chilled environment. It is mainly the older crowd at the GN, but I didn't mind, I just hit the strip at night or walk out into main where all the casinos are connected. The food is amazing! The restaurants inside the casino are available through room service, so you can virtually have anything delivered to your door. The pool area was great, but filled with the elderly, so nothing really spectacular going on there... lol jkjk The water slide goes through an actual shark tank--it's pretty legit. Overall 4/5 because the view wasn't all to great for the premium suit I paid for.
Hotel clean, pool area busy, was nice to be reel close to Freemount Street, good times
Love Golden Nugget! Been over a 100 casinos across America and still my favorite. Great food choices professional staff who are always willing to help. This visit was a Monday night about 9pm and it was packed.
My work colleagues and I stopped in at the Golden Nugget to have a drink while walking around Freemont. The bar just inside the main doors was a perfect place to have a drink and people watch. The bartender was great and very attentive. We will definitely seek this bar out next time we are there.
I stayed 1 night at the Golden Nugget and was eaten up by bedbugs. I recommend to anyone staying here to check your bed before settling in!!
The Showroom was a great venue to see a concert, sound was awesome.
Nice hotel. Well decorated. Shark aquarium is interesting. Buffet is delicious!
I was very impressed with this casino!!! From the lobby to the room to the casino, everything was spot on. I love the restaurant choices and the pool!!! They have many machines and it pays out well!! This is by far the best casino downtown.
Three night stay and "due to high occupancy" they never cleaned my room. What a horrible excuse for a hotel.
Great price loose slots very good dining Was ok all in all great experience. Will be back!
Stayed in the rush tower while our family stayed in the Carson tower. We had a great time. The hotel is clean and the people that work here are helpful and friendly. Great location on Fremont and right in the middle of all the fun!
Tons of fun with something too do no matter your mood. Plenty of great places to eat and a fantastic pool. I really enjoyed my stay.
Easy parking nice pool just really clean casino. Not too bad on cigarette smoke like a lot of the older hotels can be I'm very sensitive about it and it didn't bother me at all.
Great hotel, clean rooms which are a real credit to the cleaning stuff. Would stay again.
Beds are clean , good space , big hotel. . . only reservation was the they utilized their hotel parking as event parking thus making us park in the plaza hotel and getting reimbursed later. That was extremely inconvenient as i would come back to the hotel exhausted after working the event that was being used for parking and I had to walk the extra block AND wait at check out to get reimbursed. As a guest, I felt we should take priority over event parking but I guess its whatever makes them money (event parking was $50 btw)
Very nice casino l recomend it
..
An old classic that is fun to visit and explore! Right on Fremont Street so you can enjoy the historic part of Vegas.
Attended an event at Troy Liquor Bar, Ladies Night was great free Vodka drinks from 9-11. They had a DJ and open patio to look out on Fremont. Great venue for bachelor/bachelorette or 21st party.
Pretty nice place to gamble on freemont. Won $100 on the slots. I'm happy with my short visit at this location.
Loved the room and casino. Friendly people. Vic and Anthony's was fantastic. 4 stars instead of 5 because at 7pm, everyone was kicked out of the pool. Vegas pool closes at 7? Why?
We didn't stay here, but we played and ate and visited a few times. Definitely one of my favorite properties we visited. Very unique and beautiful. Service was always good (except while playing which is normal).
Beautiful casino marble everywhere and the Chandler's truly amazing.
Best place to stay if you don't want all the crowd. Plus it's beautiful.
Definitely one of the nicer Casinos in the old Vegas area. We played some craps and had a great time. The staff was friendly and professional.
Not the fanciest hotel, but the casino was fun. My friend won $800 in the first 15 minutes.
I am very disappointed with my stay. I have been staying at the Nugget for about 13 years but this will most likely be my last. They charged a $30 resort fee, for what I don t know, and now you won t give a cocktail when i put my $20 in a machine? Who s dumb idea is that?? I play video poker, if a machine isn t hitting I ll end up putting $60 in before leaving, and I might have 3 drinks. If you think it is a good idea to put a light on a machine to save .50 cents on your beer, your nuts. You also have so many choke points in the casino you can t even move. Very poor practices.
The room was nice, clean and updated. The restaurants are fantastic. The food and happy hours were enjoyed by us. The pool was ok. We rented the cabanas for a few days. I dont recommend ordering drinks. I ordered a martini and it was good. I ordered a second and it was one quarter the size of the first one. The waitress said it was because of the shift change. She did not make it good for me so, no more business from me. Also the young guy monitoring the pool area was aggressive. He was yelling ma'am a bunch of times before I realized he meant me. I was walking to the ladies room. He wanted to see my ID. I do not have my ID on me, I was in a swimsuit. He made me turn around and leave the area. I went back to the Cabana, and he followed me there. I know he has to do his job, but someone needs to show him how to do his job. He was very mean. I just don't think that action was necessary. My sister showed me where the other bathroom was. I'd like to mention that I had used that bathroom 4 or 5 times the day before and that day already and was never stopped or questioned . And we just walk down to the bar to get drinks instead of ordering from the waitress. Too bad. Other than that, people were really nice.
Large bathrooms are nice. Bed super comfy. Not bad over all. One of the cleaner hotel rooms I have been in. Would definitely recommend to friends.
Seek out your pot of gold at the Golden Nugget. Always an awesome stay, I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Plenty of action at all hours of the day and the dealers will remember your name. Excellent food options and a great pool to lounge by during the day.
Learned to play craps here and won $400. Definitely a favorite to return to every Vegas trip!
Beautiful newly renovated their beautiful Aquarium shark pool is absolutely amazing especially at night also the hotel in right in front of Fremont St where all the action and entertainment is at. I love it I definitely give it a
Great Buffet winter enjoy the view. Too much smoke so it was really good had a good time.
The was are first time staying on Fremont street and off the strip. It will be hard now not to stay here every time. The drink service was very fast and friendly and the location cannot be beat for those who like to hangout under the cover of freemont street. Rooms were good though the mattress could have been firmer.
We had stepped out from Fremont Street, to see the Tank. That was pretty cool. We may need to stay there next time we visit Vegas, so we can spend more time.
Very friendly staff and met one of the best bartenders!
Super clean room and lots of things to do. Great variety of restaurant and activities. Really enjoyed our stay. We will be coming back.
