Best breakfast ever, but the gaming is average and old. I hope this old place keeps going as it is the Spirit of Old Vegas. The pool is awesome and you swim with sharks near you.

I can only rate this from the perspective of somebody just passing through Vegas on to local national parks and not as a gambler or somebody staying in Vegas for a vacation. That said, the Golden Nugget is an excellent hotel-casino, even if you're not there to gamble. The staff is hard-working and friendly, the rooms are nice, the casino itself has several different restaurant options, and you're right next door to Fremont Street, which is it's own interesting experience.
Went to have lunch with family and enjoy their pool. It was very nice. Food was good and staff was friendly. Would definitely stay there myself on my next trip to Las Vegas.
I come here at least once per month and am treated very nicely. Love staying over Fremont Street loud at night but stage and lots of people watching love it.....Clean Rooms older decor and older sm bathrooms but really enjoy our stays....
Well, we finally did the Vegas experience on New Years, and I must say that this hotel had everything we needed. We still walked around and visited other hotels, but the Golden Nugget was our home. Security is top notch, bed are firm yet comforting. They give you 2 bottles of water daily. Nice size room for two people. Water pressure was low, but I was on the 12th floor. Housekeeping staff were super friendly. I would rate this hotel 5 stars!
Had a great time. The rooms were clean, the people were nice and helpful. We ate at the Hitachi in the hotel and it was very good. They even gave a special desert for a friend's birthday.
Lots of fun and decent prices table games but too Smoky.
Don't like the casino. Got hassled after I rolled the dice 2 times. Nothing like that in any other casino.
Love the old school feel here. Rooms are clean and staff is always on niceand helpful. My wife and I love the area and prices. Usually stay here once times a year.
Stopped by for a quick drink and to see the shark tank. Really neat place! I would definitely recommend stopping by.
The hotel desk, valet and housekeeping staff were awesome. The casino staff were uptight and unfriendly. The bar staff monitor your machine play in order to offer you cocktails, otherwise you must pay for them. I put $40.00 in and was never offered a drink by the bartender. I was told i couldn't have a glass of ice! The drinks brought by wait staff on the floor were watered down with no flavor. The deluxe king room ( not worth 100.00 plus 32.00 resort fee) was okay but the noise was awful. You couldn't hear yourself think let alone hear anyone speak. We had the old dirty loud air equipment systems outside of our rooms. There is a 15.00 charge for every cup of coffee in the room. If you want a refrigerator you must pay $30.00 per day. No good television channels. The only food place we liked was the Grille. Starbucks was okay but expensive coffee and not the best. Everything was highly overpriced!
The music stage right outside was all head banger music, and not good by any means. There was nothing but nastiness on the Fremont strip, we didn't like it at all. We will inform everyone we know to avoid this hotel and Fremont st forever!
Director Martha Sanchez personally handled any issues we had, the stay was great. We had 2 rooms for our big family. Check in was fast and friendly along with guest services beyond that.
First time in Vegas and stayed here. It was pretty nice, I would compare it to staying in a a nicer motel. The room was not very clean when we walked in. Found some old salami and M&Ms on the floor. I had a good experience over all.
Historical and amazing. A must see for anyone going to Vegas and Fremont St!
A beautiful place, lots of interesting things to see.
I LOVE this hotel. They have a great staff and a beautiful property. They have a pool with a water slide that goes through a shark tank! There are several restaurants on site but if you want, you can step outside on to Fremont Street for other foods, shopping and entertainment. I won't go anywhere else.
One of the first casino's and truly one of the greats. Not much more to add.
Old Vegas but the lobby was recently, or appeared to be recently, updated. Its worth seeing, but we enjoyed "new" Vegas much more.
Went there for the day sat and played for over an hour yet no waitress came by with no bar service they need more waitresses
Garbage. Rooms are extremely outdated, and that s if you get a newly renovated room. Lol I ve had their not yet renovated rooms and you ll be lucky to find a functional power outlet.
It s downtown so be prepared to be asked for change/money by every other patron because most of them are homeless and wandering the casino floor. Security can t or chooses not to do anything about this.
I have an elite players card here, the highest one. They treat high limit players like nothing. It s sad; hosts forget to book your rooms and fulfill basic tasks that no other VIP office has failed to accomplish. Golden Nugget has fallen way downhill since 2010 when I first moved here. No longer a local but visit often enough to have witnessed how much they ve fallen. Avoid this dump.. go The D which has been TRULY remodeled or even the Golden Gate has very nice rooms.
Awsome gambling and drinks highly recommended when you our on fremont street 5 stars !!!!
Always the best place to go when I want to experience the flavor of the old Las Vegas and old Las Vegas casino atmosphere. Not a place for restaurants nor fine dining.
Amazing hotel with great ammentities. We had an awesome time. The casino was clean and staffed well. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Would given 5 stars but some of their check-in staff are unfortunately incredibly rude.
Walking through the casino at 6am, inhaling the collective smoke and the desperation that comes with it. Nothing here seems casual besides the sex being peddled by morning hookers in cheap heels. The drinking is excessive. The smoking never stops. The obnoxious treble of the life-sucking slot machines gets louder as each second passes. Dialated pupils gaze at the screens of video poker with a magnetized obsession - accompanied by nervous feet and quick fingers. And all of this has been manufactured for the bottom line. While the poor get poorer and the addicts fall harder, the rich get richer and the party never stops. There is nothing here for me other than a room reservation.
Loud room, whole place smells of cigarettes, but both may have more to do with the city than the hotel itself, I guess. Perfectly fine but wouldn't seek it out.
We visit Vegas 3to 4 times a year. We usually condo or RV it here but occasionally we choose to hotel downtown. We don't even consider another hotel in the downtown area as the GN is Central to what we like to do. We always stay in the Rush tower which is easy to access via car
This review about the visit. Haven't stayed there. The pool area is amazing and is open until 4pm for guests only. After that you can visit. Make sure you check out the shark tank. If you can use the pool, try the 3-story tall water slide, which goes directly through the shark tank. Awesome.
The Golden Nugget is definitely the most comprehensive of the downtown casino/resorts. They're right in the middle of the excitement of Fremont. The food available is delicious, the rooms are comfortable and feel higher quality than others I've stayed in before. They also have a really cool pool, and are remodeling their arcade to make it more relevant and make family friendly options avaiable.
The smell of pot was everywhere (not a plus for me) despite it supposedly being illegal on hotel property. Oversized parking was far from hotel entrance and there was no help to and from the lot despite a member in my party being disabled. The room was also very far from check in, again being a problem for the disabled. The room was average. The bathroom was tiny. It was quite noisy in the room (not from the outside Vegas life). We were repeatedly told a member of the security team would come open the gate to leave oversized parking, and then waited over half an hour for someone to happen by and tell us the exit gate opens on approach. Not impressed.
No more validation of parking tickets from the casino now u must have a card and at least 30 points on it as well in order to get it validated for free.
I will never stay at this hotel again it was awful walking down the hallway they are renovating rooms there is trash everywhere the room smelled they kept my full security deposit for no explanation I tried to call and talk to somebody but got no resolve
Much better than up on the Strip. The rates are about half and the rooms are excellent. Several good restaurants within the Golden Nugget. Several more within a few minutes walk.
If you are in Vegas, you have to visit Fremont Street. We stayed on the strip, but Fremont was far more entertaining. When you leave, you can say, "now I've seen it all" cause you will. Lol
Beautiful and clean hotel. Pet friendly was the best thing of this hotel...
Crowded. The elevator were not working when we were there so it was really a hassle going up and down the floors.
They have $5 tables here for Blackjack and Roulette so that was nice. Not as fancy as the other casino's though.
Thank you I Had A Ball. Love All The Fishes & Sharks. Everyone was So Polite. The Staff Throghout The Hotel. Had SMILES ON THEIR FACES. I FELT RIGHT AT HOME HERE. THANKS GOLDEN NUGGET. I SHALL RETURN. AND WILL LET ANYONE WHO ASKS. MAKE YOUR STAY. AT GOLDEN NUGGET . IT'S COOL. !!!!! AND THANKS TO THE OUTSIDE. THE ONES OUTSIDE WITH THE CARS. FOR HELPING MY DAUGHTER LIKE YOU DID. WAS AWESOME. OH YES . I'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK. THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE.
Great hotel, best on Fremont Street. Always a freakshow outside. Plenty of food options. Vic & Anthony's is probably the best steak house I have ever been to.
A very nice casino with great service and a fun atmosphere. The tank slide looks awesome but was not open when we were there.
Enjoyed my time swimming in the pool. The casino did not pay out winnings to me. Sigh... but the rooms are nice and clean.
Nice place, great restaurants and loved the Fremont experience.
One of my favorites. Down in Fremont. The nugget has done a good job keeping up with the times. Great choices in dining. The rooms are spacious and clean.
Parking was good, food good, staff was very helpful just wish we didn't have to go through all the smoking.
Amanda at the front desk was great! Excellent service and superb room in the Rush Tower - 24th floor. Excellent place to stay when visiting Vegas. Stay at the Golden Nugget, visit The Strip when you want - agree it s a tourist trap. Would definitely stay here again.
Casino, restaurant, and event center were very good. I would definitely recommend eating at one of the restaurants to get parking validated if you aren't staying overnight.
Decent hotel and casino and the people watching on Freemont is superb.
Stayed in the Rush Tower because it's all no smoking. Rooms are nice but a little expensive. Slot Machines are very tight, so if you play, expect to lose your money.
Extra cool Nostagia feel ! So much Vegas History !! Cool pool too !!!
Really good selection of slot machines. Place still looks good for being one of the oldest hotels.
I stay there everytime I go to Las Vegas and it never gets old. Great service, awesome value and very fun.
So disappointed and discussed. Sat down at two different bars. Was told we needed to gamble before getting a drink. 10 dollars later we got our first drink. They take before they give. The tv in our e6 wasn't working called to get it fixed
Was told fox was working on it. No tv or anyone trying to help.
I toured the Golden Nugget and it has a much more unique atmosphere than the main Vegas strip if you're looking for something different for a change and is well worth it! If you ever get tired of the main Vegas strip hassles but still have the Vegas urge, I would recommend staying at the Golden Nugget!
The resort is well decorated, has really good nightclub, and a unique change of atmosphere compared to the resorts on the main Vegas strip where you have to walk a distances to everything. At the old Vegas strip, the atmosphere is uniquely different but good too. You can also walk everywhere within a reasonable distance. The pool is pretty exciting, has pool slides, and plenty of shaded areas too. I think the pool is also great for the kids, as a matter of fact, this is the best resort to take your kids too because of the pool at this resort!
Great night club. Security takes their job a little too serious tho. They act like secret service agents.
Took forever to get anyone at Registration desk.
Then when they came out said "Registration doesn't open till 11am"
I told them I had a reservation for the previous day. They responded with "Are you sure."
Then when the looked it up and realized it, they apologized.
Nice looking casino, though.
Not sure if I will stay here again.
Love love love this place. If there is A problem they take care of it immediately! I leave here today, and already came wait to come back.
Considering this hotels location in relation to Freemont st. I doubt I'd want to stay here. It's fun to stop into the casinos when you're exploring around during a night out but it's a pretty dirty area and wouldn't want to stay on this side of town.
Check it out as an attraction.
Don't sleep here.
The golden nugget is a very nice casino, the hotel is cool a bit pricey but I love the shark filled swimming slide, overall 5 out of 5
Downtown. One of the better hotels. This trip, we stopped by the nugget. But the casino activity was slow. Ppl were friendly. Ended up leaving after just a bit.
Room was comfy & quiet. I really just didn't enjoy the smoky casino atmosphere in the rest of the hotel. The little bar we went to had a very limited selection. Customer care was really nice - they didn't have the king bed I reserved the first night but kept us on the same floor when we moved for the other two nights.
This is a great hotel on Fremont Street. You can tell they've put some money into updating this casino over the years. One of my favorite steak restaurants that has excellent steak (Vic & Anthony's) is inside the Golden Nugget. While I have not stayed here, some of my friends have and they liked the rooms. You can't beat the location. Right in the heart of Fremont Street.
At check in, reservation was paid in full for a Rush Tower corner sweet. When checking in, I was told they didn t have my room for the first night and would have to move the next day with no guarantee. This reservation was made 4 1/2 months prior to our arrival. Staff was very disrespectful at check in and would not even offer an upgrade room or compensation for no room available. I definitely will not stay here again or recommend this hotel Casino . I would recommend stay on the strip and Uber to the Fremont experience.
One of my favorite casinos if you like dive bars and don't want to dress up you found your spot
No fridge , or microwave very thin walls but its nice hotel close to Freemont
We were at the Golden Nugget on valentine's day 2020 to see Blue Oyster Cult at their showroom theatre. Turns out it is a good venue with decent acoustics, would recommend it to anyone. Try to sit closer to the front though.
The people are so nice, rooms are updated and CLEAN, great food options, and inexpensive blackjack...what more could anyone ask for in life?
I'm not sure if the buffet or the shark tank was more amazing but I loved every minute of this place. Needs time I'm in Vegas I will definitely stay here.
Absolutely lovvvveee this hotel!!! Very clean building! Friendly staff !! No problems checking in or out!!! Right outside is the Fremont experience! Pool was clean!! And nice restaurants to choose from inside the hotel!! You have to try the bakery they have inside delicious cupcakes!! Amazing view also!!
Excellent hotel and casino! Several different restaurants inside from Claim Jumper and Starbucks, to The Grotto Italian and Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse. Well appointed rooms in the Rush Tower. Only negative id the Check-In for all 3 towers is located at one place, creating VERY long wait times for checking in.
Iconic Hotel/casino experience in Vegas. Lots of fun!
We went there because I heard they had an arcade for kids to play. Found out it wasn't there anymore. Over all service is good, and had a lot of games and gambling tables.
Nice place to see the displayed hand of faith nugget.
The dealer at the craps tables was very helpful and professional. We knew nothing about the game and they walked us through it. A few others at the table were a bit upset at the interruption, but they handled the situation great.
Adult rooftop pool small, ALWAYS too windy, unfriendly bar staff. Rest of hotel is fine. Couldn't keep room cool enough but was quick to fix broken down ice machine. Need fridges in rooms.
Love this place. Some age to it but that's part of the beauty.
Good customer service at registration. Could have been better but the wait for check out was so long. Only one person was working the desk and the pool was so packed and the chairs were being occupied by towels and people who are only at the pool to look "sexy" or tan..
No attendants available to help, dirty and poorly run. Would never suggest this casino...ever!!!
Nice clean place. The Carson tower is out dated. Could use some renovation. Other than that, nice hotel to stay at.
It was a nice casino in the old section of Las Vegas. I think I enjoyed the gambling atmosphere a bit better than the newer casinos
This is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at! My boyfriend and I took a trip in July. Their hospitality was out of this world, cleanliness was a top priority, the food inside the hotel is something I crave every day now, I could really go on all day!! This will be the only hotel I ever stay in when I am in Las Vegas!
We visited the casino and wound descently. Had fun.
