We were in search of the "shark tank aquarium", well needless to say it is just a shark tank. I was disappointed by the admission fee of $25.00 before 7pm.

Really nice rooms and decent price. Not the best food and food is too pricey.
We ate at the Grotto. Delicious Italian food. Ask the servers their preferences and you will get some great recommendations.
I love this casino...its so full of life and people who are cool hang out here...the beautiful people. Hang out here and party at the Nugget...just puke in the bucket. Very clean and stylish...the most beautifullest hotel in the DTLV area....-love
There is so many things to do. Fun & great location!
Great guest service with nice rooms and a lot of fun activities including the casino!
Never had any intentions to stay here but my husband loves Fremont, so for our anniversary we got an upgrade to stay in the rush tower and what a delight
Close to the pool area, rush tower is newly renovated and our room was very cool. Over sized tub, mini fridge, sofa in your room!!
Rented a daybed for 100$ +50 drink minimum, which we do in an hour and enjoyed ALL DAY Saturday in the 21+ pool, loved it!
Outside bar is a great place to people watch
Had lunch at the buffet, skipped the line with our VIP pass. .AWESOME
Ate dinner and happy hour at Cadillacs (gave a separate review on their sight) went back for brunch and more drinks
We had a really great time enjoying their room, the pools, bars and eateries!
Vegas for the common folk. A bit smelly and dirty but the games are the same as anywhere else.
Had a lovely week with my girlfriend at the Golden nugget. Grest place!
Surprised by how very nice everything was. We ate a Vic and Anthony's and the food and service was outstanding. Hotel staff was fantastic with the exception of one person at the front desk and she was just unfriendly and not very helpful in explaining some of the charges on our bill. I still feel like we were over charged, but she just shrugged her shoulders and said that was what we owed. Otherwise, very nice.
Very nice housekeeping staff, room service and check in. Basic rooms, adequate restaurants. Nothing extraordinary. We stayed here for a tournament. It wouldn't be my first choice because of the number of children. Fairly priced.
Next to freemont st where its. Always a party the casino is good alright payouts servers are slow and I mean slow so people just buy a drink from the bar trust me you'll actually save money
Right on Freemont street. Friendly staff. Walking distance to The Mob Museum,Evel pies and Container park to name a few. I'm definitely going to stay here again.
We are staying in the newly renovated Rush Tower, and our room is Lovely. Very spacious, large bath with double vanities, and very comfortable bed. Staff have been very courteous, and the meal we ordered through room service, was spectacular. My husband's ribeye was as good as any local steakhouse.
Best place to stay on Fremont. Quick check-in and the rooms are clean. I would come back to the same hotel, for sure!
Clean rooms, excellent staff, you do have to keep masks on in public areas. The pool is open and you have to keep your mask on while in the pool area.
Been going to "The Nugget" for 30+ years! By far the best place downtown and all of Vegas. Latest owners doing a great job.
Great stay! Rooms were big and nice and clean. Better than places I've stayed on the main strip.
How hard is it to carry a seltzer drink white claw, truly, corona not that hard
Cool to see the nugget and that it's right on Fremont Street
Too loud, insulate this place better or have somewhere for business travelers to rest amongst the party goers.
Great atmosphere. Machines paid better than on strip
One of my favorite places to go when in Vegas nice place with the Fremont street experience right outside
Room was spacious, staff was friendly, love the fire pit at the pool and shark tank. Most important I won money lol
Room was nice, clean and quiet... staff very friendly!! Great variety of food choices and restaurants. Drinks expensive. It would be nice if there was an entertainment team by the pool. But overall we really enjoyed the stay!
It's nice if you want to be right at Fremont; however, for me it was way too uncomfortable with all of the drunks everywhere. Also, as with all Vegas casinos it was way too smoky.
We checked in last night the employee at the front desk was amazing
Extremely clean ...I will only stay here on Fremont.
The pool is real nice there best part of stopping by there nice view amd everything
I book a trip for my girl friend 30th birthday and I regret even bringing her here. She was miserable The whole time n on top of it all our shower didn t work and we never got the room we paid for. The travel agency I use was horrible I would never recommend anyone to stay at the Golden nugget or use Funjet vacation. That area is not the best way different from where I had to book another room at the mirage. I spent why more money than I attend.
The whole hotel has that "old yet new" feel. Some before might be old fashion, but it blends in with the rest of the hotel, very nice. Rooms are a bit outdated, but still very nice. Everything from the lobby to casino is fantastic
Surprisingly decent place to stay for a lot less cash than the Strip. Desk staff was total first rate. Not a single complaint
Very nice. I was just passing through but it was very clean. And the way it was built. Beautiful
Opposite of Strip, nice break from all the pretension at the "BIG" hotels.
Clean and lovely suites. Restaurants are delicious.
A very pleasant stay in the no smoking tower, room was modern, stylish and great! Fresh fruit, delicious coffee and other goodies near the elevator every morning.
Always a great place to be especially when you're winning!
I love that I get so much more for my money at down town. I will stay here again
THEY WILL NOT LET US LEAVE. WE BOOKED 3 months in advance for NYE AND THERE WAS NO DISCLAIMER THAT WE WOULD BE CHARGED TO LEAVE THE HOTEL.
This place is great!!!! It has everything, restaurants, bars, gambling and a wonderful spa!!! It would be 5 starts if it wasn't for the smoke everywhere... When I get back to my room it's fine... But everywhere else leaves your clothes and hair reeking if cigarette smoke!!!
Great restaurants inside and the "Hand of Faith" and shark tank is incredibly cool to see inside as well. I would highly recommend checking this place out and it connects right to Fremont Street too.
This place is fantastic! It was our first time staying here and we're already planning another stay later this year. This time, the piano room!
There was half a roll of toilet paper in the room, 4 tiny pillows, no tissue paper. Three of five lights in the room were broken. I ordered food by the poolside and never got it. The staff was, however, very good about insisting on masks and social distancing. Probably won't stay here again.
Service was meh. Tipped waitress 5 bucks never saw her again. Ya hate to see it.
It's an older casino, but Las Vegas has greatly improved "old Vegas" and due to the improvements the environment is a lot more fun and pleasurable.
Would have been nice to, know that none of the pools were operational. Checkout using tv only works after 5am unless of course it doesn't.... voicemail left on the room phone is the hotel upselling you but you won't know that till the front desk plays them back to you... That's right, you can't check your own messages. I'm guessing people would just delete the spam messages....
Loved the experience of old Las Vegas but the hotel is geared more for a younger crowd in my opinion. The swimming pool is in glass walled room with the top open to the sun which it doesn't get much of and turns into a night club at night. I went just for a pool and never felt comfortable enough to go in in my swim suit with all the people who looked liked models. Great for some, not for me. Didn't win at any of the slot machines and the tables were either too crowded or too high for me. We spent our time looking around Freemont mostly.
Casino is large and kept very tidy. Great place visit while on Freemont. Food is great and the pool is a must see. All employees were fabulous!
Beautiful hotel/ casino. We went to suss out the shark tank water slide. Access to the pool was US$25 and the part of the water slide that goes through the shark tank was only about 7 metres, which you fly through in under a second. It didn't really look worth the money to us, but a very cool idea nonetheless.
The jewel of Downtown Las Vegas. Great accommodations (splurge on the Gold Tower rooms), great restaurants, great bars. Oh, and gaming galore!
Very nice large rooms. We had a sofa and a king size bed. Checkin and Checkout were quick. Definitely a great stay. I highly recommend the Golden Nugget and we will be going back again soon!
Great hotel and fun experience checking out the tattoo stuff going on in the ballroom!
I went there to do makeup on a client the place was very beautiful and elegant. We had lunch at the Mexican grill Cadillic to be honest it was not very good it was more americanized Mexican food not actual authentic Mexican food. But the hotel itself has beautiful views and the room was extravagant and spacious. It was a pleasant experience overall
I like these older casinos way more than the new ones on the strip. Just a better vibe.
Tory Mitchell security officer was super helpful with my father, and made sure he got this room at the Carson tower. He is a professional and makes sure every patron is taken care of. Thank you Tory.
Awesome poker room. Personable and engaging dealers. Machines paid out well today.
Little disappointed we weren't able to use the pool. Maybe let people know reservations are required under current conditions. Other than that the hotel was great.
Understaffed at Claim Jumper. Also not enough restaurants.
By far the best hotel downtown. From basic cheap rooms to fancy suites, lots of restaurants, clean, beautiful pool area. Downtown and Fremont Street can be a little seedy, but the Golden Nugget is very nice.
The pool is amazing, the gaming is good, but the room is not necessarily what you pay for. Our "Gold Tower" room had a broken tub spout, bathroom door, and lamp. And we had a random shirt on our table upon entering from the previous guest. And our 2nd level "pool view" was only able to see the cabana on the top pool floor. Recommend the run of the mill cheap rooms for the price vs. quality.
Lots of fun places to visit on the inside. I especially like the pool because the upstairs area has a bar and a slide that goes though there see-through aquarium into the bottom pool. I ve gambled in the casino too and while I don t like gambling too much, the experience was fun. Liked getting free drinks!
Ok the house keeper was awesome. The rooms are big. And clean. That was big. Pool was very crowded. Sucked but the pool area was nice.
The hotel is doing a great job during the shutdown/reopening.
Felt like a "bait and switch" when I arrived. I had booked rooms for $36 a night online, and suddenly at check-in was told I would have to pay an additional $38 RESORT FEE per night. Resort fee for what... I don't use the pool or any other amenities. I call B.S. Golden Nugget. Travellers be aware.
I had a really great time. All of the employees were friendly.
This is the real Vegas. I mean the real showcase Vegas not the city. That sucks.
Everything at your fingertips front street lots of fun at night.Golden Nugget great Hotel ,very clean.
Loved our stay! Pool was amazing! Our particular room was a long trip from anywhere, but that's no ones fault. Ate at claim jumper twice during our stay. First time was great, the second time I got food poisoning. My girlfriend and I had almost the same exact thing except I had an over easy egg with mine (steak dinner/steak and egg breakfast). Had to have been the egg since my English muffin was the only other variable. But after I ran to our room, leaving my gf to pay the bill and had a miserable two hours.. everything else was amazing. This particular stay was in late August 2020. Stayed in October of 2019 and it was also great then. The bad egg is why 3 stars. I didn't complain or want to cause a problem. I'm sure it was a freak occurrence but I still can't think of eggs without getting queasy lol.
The environment was perfect. There where plenty of beautiful rooms. Great service was given, plusvthe delicious drinks.
Stayed from May 29th through June 6th...my experience at Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino was great! The front desk receptionist and all of the staff members were courteous and friendly to me and my relatives. I will definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel, comfortable and people are very pleasant. The pool and shark tank are great for lounging. Would have liked a better option for late checkout since our flight was so late. The hotel wasn't booked so we could've been allowed more time instead of wandering aimlessly for 6 hours. But other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
Awful, bed sheets had blood all over them and waited so long for somebody to change them that we gave up and shared. Not even an apology from the staff. Absolutely no frills - no coffee, fridge, breakfast etc. Also beyond noisy with music from the events centre blasting out late into the night.
The entertainment was great .it was like a big party in there and everybody was having the time of the life. I didnt want to leave.
I always stop in when I am in town. I love the open and tropical feeling and, generally, my visit covers itself in wins or comps.
One of the old fashioned casinos still left pretty cool inside nice place to stay good food on the buffet
Lost all my money on blackjack but it was a hell of a time! Very nice establishment.
1st Vegas Trip...Totally LOVED the Golden Nugget!! Will be back!! #goldennugget #lasvegas #livinthelife
Reminds me of the casinos you would see in older movies (Like National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation or Casino). Highly recommend checking it out if you are in downtown Vegas
Golden Nugget is my go to place. There's a section next to the bar where the blackjack tables are $10 a bet! Definitely a place to visit.
Great pool, nice clean rooms and reasonable prices.
