Although this is a nice place and the rooms are nice it seemed to be a place for younger attention seeking females...goodness they were quite rowdy. I would choose the Rio hotel over this one any day

Went and got checked in was told we had to pay for the amenities even though we can't use half of them because of the covid we get to room and the bathroom is dirty trash hairs in the sink hair in the tub when calling down to ask if they can send somebody up to clean it they said it couldn't be done till the next day the room wasn't properly made there was no blankets on the bed other than that so far so good
I used to love the "old vegas" atmosphere around here but these places just don't stack up in the Air quality and atmosphere anymore. But if I were to stay in the Fremont area again I'd probably stay here.
It was not the worst experience I have had staying somewhere. The rooms were not anything special, just very standard hotel rooms. The staff was extremely nice though.
The Golden Nugget is the best place to stay in downtown area. We love it there. Lots of nice areas to play and relax. Highly recommend this Hotel and we usually win some money!
4/23/19 I am back to revise my review. After complaining to the management. The hotel manager is willing to exchange a room for us. In the Rush tower. These side of the hotel is so much better than the Carson tower. I am willing to even out my star.
4/21/19 We are staying in the Carson tower. For a 4 star hotel, the place needs a lot of maintenance, everything is old and they still have the old fashion TV in the room. Your Wifi doesn't work! IT department has no idea what is going on. I am not ready to give you my MAC ID!
Suggestions: 1. Hotel IT, your signal is too weak for a big old hotel! How about a booster! 2. How about putting a couple of more people at the front desk to do the check in. We waited more than 45 minutes to check in. 3. How about changing the bathroom doors. The paint on the door chipped off, and hard to close. 4. How about train you staff on customer service and stop throwing the guests to another department instead of correcting the problem.
Had dinner at Lillie's Asian Cuisine inside the Golden Nugget. The appetizers were great, but the Pad Thai had a very strange flavor. My wife and I couldn't determine if the dish was made wrong or if it was just a weird / unique recipe. Good service and friendly staff, so I would come back for the appetizers again.
We stayed in the Carson tower and it was so beautiful. Sooo much to do both inside the hotel and just outside within walking distance. Great location. Amazing staff. We will definitely stay here again.
Nice room and price. No coffee in room is not good, nor fridge, or microwave. I can do without those, but there should be coffee. To have to pay 9.00 for 2 coffees is ridiculous.
I had a great experience. Th rooms were clean , the hotel is near Fremont Street. The only downside is the pool was closed when we arrived. I remember once in December my family and I went swimming in the jacuzzi of this hotel. I am confused now why they didn't open it this year. Now I am from Colorado, our Decembers are a lot more colder than Nevada's. So I was a bit disappointed that the pool was closed in this warm weather. If only the pool was heated or something because the aquarium is really cool to look at up close. All in all, the hotel is fine and clean. Just remember if you are coming from colder climates don't be surprised if most of the pools will be closed here in Vegas.
Paying a resort fee pool is closed the guy that checked us in was very unfriendly! The uber drivers in this town are awesome! Next time staying on the strip.
The Golden Nugget is one of the oldest hotels in Vegas but walking into this place you'd never know it! It has been remodeled and looks fantastic! The rooms are spacious with large bathrooms that are handicap accessible. The coolest part is their pool area known as "The Tank" has a salt water tank in the middle of it which can be seen from parts of the hotel and it even has a shark in it!
I used to like to drink and gamble here but I don't anymore. Management is more concerned with $/hour than they are about customer service. This leads to less gambling, less drinking, and leads to fewer tips for the bartenders. Won't be back again until this policy is reversed.
**EDIT** Came back again two years later. The policy is now even more draconian. Avoid this place at all costs. All of the other hotels/casinos/bars in the area are a FAR better deal.
We didn't stay at the Golden Nugget but we went there for a few drinks and to watch the games on a Sunday morning. They had a nice sports betting area which had a bunch of tvs and every game on. It was packed so get there earlier to find a spot.
I visited a few years ago and it was a pretty basic place, which I loved. I came back to a very fancy place that was a total renovation. If you haven't checked it out lately prepare to be amazed by the transformation. I didn't stay here this time but it's a serious contender when I come back.
This is the best Hot in Las Vegas. The polite customer service is a breath of fresh air. Valet remembered that I was getting married. He congratulated me and was so nice. The rooms were clean and the room maids were fast and professional. Real nice experience!
For it to be nestled in amongst the other "Old Vegas" casinos on freemont, it certainly maintains its dominance as an upper class hotel and casino. I enjoy myself everytime. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is that is just old. Lol
The bathtub was covered in rust. The hot tub was too hot to enjoy. Was not happy that there were no seats available at the pool, people put a towel on 6 chairs and go swim in the pool. I would like to lay out and get sun but no open chairs at the pool and have to PAY for a chair in the adult pool!!!! Not acceptable!
If I have this hotel right, it was near the Fremont Street experience. It's easy to get to, near an exciting and happening (three different live band areas, street performers, etc) area and very open.
Stayed in the Carson tower. Quiet. Rooms clean and complementary bottled water. Didn't spend much time in the room as it is Vegas. Casino is nice and workers helpful and friendly.
Nice Hotel. Nice. Room even though I got caught up in a scam there and still fighting it. Beware TLC Vacation Resort. Had to hire Lawyer still working on it.The hotel let's them work out of it they should screen better.
Can't compete with the bigger and newer hotels, but this hotel has some good features. Shark tank and slides by the pool area. Has an original hotel ambiance that newer hotels can't beat.
The hotel rooms are really nice. The room service food is really good. I won money on the machines. The area around the hotel is a lot like a 24hrs county fair. I'll definitely stay at the Golden Nugget every trip to Vegas.
This is an all in one, one stop place that has everything. The amenities are perfect, exceeded my expectations. How ever the rooms are horrible. For $296 I expected alot more. Not to mention when I called 15 minutes before arriving I was quoted $196. And when I arrive the guy tells me $296 and that whoever told me $196 was mistaken. Also this place is dated, if your looking for convenience to charge items in the room you have one option, the bathroom, everywhere else you end up having to pull out furniture to plug in behind it. Meanwhile I can stay on the strip, in the center of the action for $112 a night at the Marriott and I'm greeted with more politeness, better rooms, and a huge 3 person bath tub in room, and free valet parking. And after a 1 block walk I'm at the Bellagio, Paris, MGM, Planet Hollywood, and etc.
Another thing to note since it is on the bad side of town, you get the rowdy drunken crowd that comes with it, urinating everywhere. Quite a few of the elevators smelled like pee for obvious reasons.
The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 is for the amenities. If I was judging just the amenities I'd give it a 5 star. If I was judging just the room I'd give it a 1 star.
Golden Nugget is a classic casino in downtown Las Vegas. It's beautifully kept and quite a bit larger than it looks from the outside. Be sure to check out the aquarium near the pool!
Love the Golden Nugget when in downtown Las Vegas. They do a great job of keeping the "old Vegas" feel even with all the modern conveniences. Rooms are always nice and the staff is always super friendly.
Their buffet was amazing! We went on Seafood Night! I always love to come back to this buffet! Quality food and the price is better compared to other buffets. The buffet has a special place in my heart because my husband and I ate here after we got married in Vegas. Also, the vibe in their casino is good! Friendly staff and met some nice people at Golden Nugget. Will always come back here!
This was our first time staying in Downtown Las Vegas and I would highly recommend it. The Golden Nuggets is the perfect location to really enjoy the Fremont Street experience.
Public transport is located quite close to the hotel which makes the Strip easily accessible so you can experience both sides of Vegas.
We were really impressed with the pool facilities and the huge fish tank is a really great feature.
We stayed in the Carson Tower, the rideshare and tour bus pickups are right outside the entrance so it is very convenient. The room was very spacious, clean and very comfortable.
We visited during the pandemic. We had fun. Freemont street made me nervous with the sheer number of people without masks... but despite that, we still had a good time and here I am 3 weeks later still not sick! Thanks for a fun time GOLDEN Nugget!!!
