The hotels been remodeled for a few years and it has the best pool in the world. There s a slide that you can go on that goes through the middle of the shark tank and into the swimming pool. The swimming pool is half shaded and half in the sun with lounge chairs everywhere and the rooms are very nice as well. Gambling is not too expensive at this hotel because it is on Fremont Street.

You must wear masks everywhere even pool area but not in pool and on Freemont street. Bars are not open no place to sit except if your eating. We rented a cabana to avoid mask issue.
My husband and I had a great stay. Check in was quick and friendly. Our room was very clean and updated. It was also quiet when we were in our room. The 21 and over pool was fun as usual. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and it is steps away from outdoor entertainment. We will stay here again. The only thing that was bad was waiting for our car in valet after checking out it took almost an hour but they were hustling. Looks like they were under staff for a Sunday.
Carson tower is a little old. Hair dryer I had looked broken and smelled like broken plastic when I used it for longer than 30 seconds. Surprised by how...dated things looked. Otherwise fine stay.
I am so pissed. I originally booked through expedia but i ended up calling golden nugget to upgrade to gold rush tower Vip..it sounded good no wait in lines, coupons, speedy check in, turn down service. I get here they tell me they cant give me coupons because i booked through Expedia and no one came in room for turn down service. The rooms are nice but they make it sound so good. I hate to be misled. Nakia Hickman...room 23223
One of the oldest and in my personal opinion one of the best Hotels in Downtown Las Vegas. The parking is pretty easy as long as you have your key access is pretty easy. Located at the beginning of Fremont, or back end depending on how you see it. The staff at check in were amazing and super helpful.
One of my favorite hotels to stay in when we go to downtown las vegas. The rooms are pretty standard, the casino floor is always popping and I personally love the pool here. It has a pretty cool slide that comes down through the shark tank. They have some tables pool side if you want to gamble as well.
There's tons of restaurants here and a starbucks so you can always find food. We haven't tried the food yet but most people say it's really good.
One of the worst hotels I have used. Smoking is allowed :( No kettle in the room. Dirty bathroom curtain. Hand washbasin out of order. I had to ask for service. Limited TV channels. It took them 40min to bring two boiled eggs and two pieces of toast.
They were very good to us and we had a great time. The buffet was well done, Carson Street Cafe food is equally good. Love the Cadillac Bar. Lots of March Madness including a concert by Grand Funk Railroad.
Beautiful hotel! Located right off of Fremont Street and close to many event locations and amenities. Very friendly and helpful staff! The casino is large and has lots of variety. The pool is amazing, with sharks in a tank and a slide, a bit crowded though.
Terrible room. Walked for no lie a mile winding around the 7th floor to get to the room. Carpets in halls dirty. TV had 3 channels. 4 elevators for Carson tower and 2 were not working. They supply foam ear plugs because the room was so noisy. We were asked at check in if we wanted a view of downtown and we said yes. What a joke we looked at a parking garage and a Clark county building. Never again will we stay here.
It was our 1st trip to Las Vegas and we had a blast it was also our anniversary getaway. We were there from 8-5/8-9 and we enjoyed our time there, I must mention somethings to be fair, housekeeping really needs do their work, one day we didn t get our waters, the bathroom had mold on top of the shower walls and there was hair in the drain in the tub, the bathroom mirror was never cleaned during our stay and the toilet is very low to the floor, for whatever reason we didn t get any washcloths only hand towels and bath towels which were thick and fluffy and soft I love that but to shower with a hand towel was weird. The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for us and Fremont Street was an experience we ll not soon forget, we didn t get a chance to visit the buffet or order room service our agenda was loaded, but we look forward to our next trip to Vegas and staying at the Golden Nugget.
Way nicer than anywhere else on Fremont Street. Not that it would take much. But Golden Nugget could actually be a hotel on the strip if you didn't know better.
Location was good. Room was average and the bathroom even worse. Next to no additional facilities other than ice machine (no white goods in room) wanted around $4 per shirt to be washed!
The hotel is pretty good. There's a nice layout and the tables seem good. We had one major issue though. A group of about 10 of us were drinking at the bar and the bartender cut off the only person drinking water. He was very rude and we ended up leaving because of his terrible attitude. If you're going to relax then it's a cool place. If you want to drink you're better off going 50 feet in any other direction.
Love the location of the GN. Though, I do like downtown more than the strip! Love it more since the remodel. Rooms are nicely done. I seem to win more here than anywhere else. Staff, friendly as usual!
clean rooms. friendly helpful staff downside was. person I was traveling with asked for smoking room. there was a $ 50 a night fee. they declined. want to win at slots not the place. slots tighter than a well diggers butt
Great hotel with the best pool in Vegas. On Fremont Street which in my opinion is the best attraction in Vegas. They also have excellent restaurants at this casino / Hotel here we go. I highly recommend staying here to get the best experience of Vegas. If you do stay here ask about seeing the actual gold nugget. To my knowledge it is the largest and most valuable one in the world.
I've enjoyed lesser star hotels much better this did not feel 4 star at all. With a 35 a day resort fee I was surprised no coffee maker and outrages prices to get one. Room did not feel close to five star and 2 out of 4 nights there was VERY Loud bass, music and mic coming from a venue outside the hotel hosting the hockey team watch party. Carson tower street side is not where you want to be for sure. Many guest complaing about seemingly dangerous elevators.
The hotel was really nice. I didn't stay the night but I had a great time at the pool and waterslide through the fish tank. It also was nicer having a casino that allowed for lower buy in tables.
In Old Vegas. You can tell this is where the locals go to play, so less flashy than the strip. But this is where I would go for having a relaxed time at the tables.
Other than one rude and ungrateful blackjack table dealer, don't remember her name, but she can't count AT ALL. We had a great time. Once we notified the Pitt boss of the dealer she was swapped out and had no other issues. One 311 on a penny machine with 20.00. wish they had a no smoking section but can't complain.
It is the best casino in downtown, the rooms are ok in the tower, it does get lots of riff raff, they let spectators come right up to the table when your rolling Amutuer hour! You save room in your luggage, leave your suit jacket home, more of the t shirt and Jeans vibe.
Our Big Bus night tour stopped at the Golden Nugget to give us a taste of Fremont Street nightlife. The casino was much like all the other hotel casinos on a Tuesday night. The area around the hotel was great, though, with the massive overhead video screen and live music.
Average off the Strip Hotel, but best one in the Downtown area. Pool area is different with unique aquarium, shark tank. Casino was on the smaller size, multiple restaurants. Staff was all over the spectrum, some very friendly and courteous and others meh. We stayed in Carson Tower and had not been remodeled but we knew this and it was ok. Elevator issues are real, getting stuck for 10 minutes to a few hours is a real thing! Lucky for us, we escaped the drama. If I stay on Freemont again I would consider Golden Nugget again.
So smoky. They really need to update the filtration system. This visit was pretty good but we've had issues in the past. We visit twice a year for a conference and the Nugget is quite convenient and affordable. The Rush tower is much better than the Carson tower. the Chart House restaurant is really good and the Ghratto also has good food. It's very convenient to downtown as well.
First time staying downtown. ...will definitely be back! Nice room...great prices. ..wonderful pool area and a nice selection of restaurants and bars.... great option if you're ready to get off the strip!
I really had a good time, the staff was very friendly the games much more fun then I expected I thought it cost a little bit too much to park at $10 per hour $20 for 2 hours otherwise I had a great time and I would go back maybe make it easier to validate parking
Newly renovated and upgraded, a must stay downtown, if you're looking for a perfect spot. Right in the heart of the Fremont street experience. Good place to visit and stay.
I found the Casino to be quite tired looking and in need of a refurbishment. The clientele was vastly different from the Vegas strip (not in a good way).
Outside the Casino in Freemont street, there were many shady characters. This tarnishes the image of the area and makes it unappealing to the usual holiday crowd. They try to make it exciting by having zipline rides across the street outside but it is a tacky and desperate ploy to attract visitors.
I'm not a big fan of gambling I just like to go hang out there for buffets and if I go to Vegas I only hang out on Fremont Street so I can get my Fremont experience which is very nice so try out Fremont Street Las Vegas Nevada around the Golden Nugget hotel that have the outdoor shows it's just nice nice nice nice
We waited for at least 45 minutes to check into this hotel which I heard is fairly common. In addition, the hotel charged us 153 dollars for room service that we didn't order! They were not able to tell us how the error happen and refunded our bank but the money never came through. Currently, my bank is considering this a fraudulent charge.
Bottom line: find somewhere else to stay; there are many other places with comparable rates that won't mess with you like this.
We love Golden Nugget! The rooms are nice and clean. The restaurants are excellent! This hotel rivals any on the strip! There is no LONG, LONG walks to get to the casinos, pool or restaurants (although the place is big). There is a convenience store right next door. We love the awning that lights-up after dark to show fantastic music videos. We've been coming to Vegas 20 years and have spent the last 6 years coming to the Golden Nugget.
Favorite hotel and casino in Vegas they have the best aquarium and pool most the staff is nice but by the escalators they sure had a grouchy staff member by the escalator getting mad at customers and the public. That made me not give them 5 stars.
I am only giving one star due to the fact that our room wasn't ready until early evening and when we finally got to our room the carpet was soaked from being cleaned. We left clothes in the closet when we left, called right away and they stated nothing was found. Would not recommend staying here. Casino also had drinks and ashes all over the machines, needs a good cleaning.
Really enjoyed the pool it was pretty awesome with the shark tank in the middle. Our room was ok at best given that it was supposed to be deluxe. It was a very long hike to get from the room out to Freemont street. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and check in/check out was quick. In addition, parking was free which was nice compared to places on the strip charging $15/$20 per day on top of the resort fee!
