As a person who works in the hospitality industry, I felt like a third class customer, even though I've been there four times . The reason why I came to this conclusion was the server named,Roxanne didn't ask if we wanted something to drink or even give us utensil or napkins to eat with. e The food was good on the other three occasions but this fourth time around the food wasn't up to par,had to ask the manager Sandy to rectify the problem, she did so. Before we were even finished with our main course Roxanne brought me the check, without asking if we need anything else ,whithout even removing the plates or asking if we wanted coffee, which is a common courtesy. So now I will not even recommend CLAIM JUMPERS RESTUARANT TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS, because of the waymy companion and I were treated.
The hotel was great. Nice large rooms and good beds. The dining and drinks were good in all the resturants with the exception of the Asian resturantant. It was very mediocre and the special was a costly rip off. Do not go there.
Booked my stay here at the Golden Nugget Hotel. Have to say very very good staff. Friendly as can be and very very helpful. Rodney especially is such an amazing man. It doesn t matter if u need help now or later, he is happy to help whenever. He is great!!! So far a happy stay.
Hall s Family on our 50th wedding anniversary very clean room good service from the cleaning staff , but lot of out side noise all day and night need windows installed better my husband spoke with them know respond on the first day. I spend lots of time in the Atlantic City but our children chose this location
The front desk told me there would be no resort fee, however upon checkout I was charged the fee and the hotel refused to refund me. I think this is a very deceptive practice. Plus the room was noisy due to the close proximity to Freemont Street. I will tell all my friends to stay elsewhere, mainly because they lied about the resort fee.
The Golden Nugget Casino was a fun and nostalgic place to go. All of Fremont Street was!! The Golden Nugget was old and dingy, but gambling was fun! Found some new favorite slot machines!!
Great hotel, great service, nicely priced room. Great location, I love Fremont St. Water slide in the hotel goes through a fish tank with SHARKS! Seriously cool.
This was my first time staying at the Golden Nugget and I will definitely be back. The staff and service was one of the best. From the moment we drove up and was excitedly greeted by Drew to the moment we checked out and was wished a safe drive home by___ (Sorry I don't remember his name but we left Monday 2/25 @9:20am). The room was very clean and comfortable. I was afraid since it was an older hotel that the room would be out of date but the decor was very modern. The only complaint I have about the room was the design of the shower/tub. The glass door closes to the faucet does not open so the only way to turn on the water is by getting in the tub/shower. This then causes you to be under the showerhead when the water comes on, which got my hair wet. I was not prepared to wash my hair during this shower. I had family staying in other rooms and they had complained about this also. Anyways, moving on... I did like the assortment of slot machines and the amount of bars located in the casino. Overall it was a great stay!
Nearly an hour waiting in line check in but staff was kind. Pool Slide closed before scheduled for no reason. Room had no fridge, no microwave, no coffee pot! Also had no USB ports for charging which is pretty standard at most hotels now. Buffet was overpriced but that is expected for Vegas. Staff was great but food on the other hand was awful.
If you ever find yourself in old Vegas make sure you at least walk through the Golden Nugget gives you an idea of they used to get in good old LV before the strip existed.
Great food, great staff lots to do. Pools, gambling, shows and if it's not here it is close by. Well stocked gift shops, spas and free parking for guests. They have certainly thought of all the things for their guests comfort. The restaurants are not that expensive when you consider the freshness of the foods and the service. I don't have a problem with recommending this location for a stay or just for the day.
Enjoy the hotel but I didn't enjoy playing your machines spent a lot of money never hardly got any bonuses and when you did they were very terrible but we went upstairs to your buffet and had dinner that was very good I don't know if I'll be coming back but if I do I will try again but losing over $500 in less than 4 hours with no bonuses on a machine or when you do get it is pretty bad.
Best hotel and casino on Fremont by far great service great food we're ever u choose to eat great environment all around just the best I will be back lol
No comped drinks at the bar. Some green light system. Avoid the golden nugget if you want to have a good time. Only casino downtown that treats you this way.
Very clean, lots of neat things to look at and very helpful friendly staff. Didn't stay there, only walked thru to get to chick fila. But am making future plans now to stay there for next visit to Vegas
Stayed in the Spa Tower penthouse for our 25th wedding anniversary. We paid extra for the pool view and when we went to our room it didn't have a pool view. I went back to the VIP checkin and the person there said it wasn't a guarantee. I told her I paid extra for it and she did change my room after giving me an attitude. The next day we never got maid service. I had to find a maid to ask to get more coffee and to have our trash picked up. The drapes on the panoramic window didn't work and the downstairs toilet didn't work right. The room looked rundown and was in desperate need of renovations. Lastly, I replied back to an email I got from the Golden Nugget when they asked how my stay was and I told them how it was and I have never gotten a response back.
Extremely crowded to the point of frustration. A nice place and good vibe, but even the pool was wall-to-wall people. You couldn't turn around witout bumping into someone. I'm sure some people are fine with that, but I found it irritating. Long lines at every bar and restaurant. Nice, clean room. I doubt we will ever stay here again though.
The Golden Nugget on Fremont Street was an experience more intense than the strip, with everything just more condensed. The Nugget was my favorite on Fremont.
Being the most expensive hotel downtown, you'd expect nicer rooms. You can get a better room at El Cortez for a better rate. Besides that, nothing really stands out about the Golden Nugget. Expect subpar dining experiences and cold gaming.
Great steakhouse inside and the casino was fun. Was just there for dinner and some gambling but would definitely consider it for my next stay in Vegas.
One of the better downtown casinos. While we didn't stay here overnight, I'd like to to experience the pool. It has a waterslide that goes through a shark aquarium.
We spent a lot of $$ here and never had a waitress come around and ask if we needing anything, so we took our $$ elsewhere. I would never stay here again. Chalk it up as a lesson learned (you get what you pay for).
We only used the pool, but it was a pretty good pool. It's one if a kind - can you say shark tank water slide? Some of the lifeguard bouncers need to be more attentive. They let a really really young kid go down the water slide, and another one almost do a cannonball in the adults only pool. Overall, a really nice facility at competitive non-guest prices.
Nice clean hotel, probably the best of the main downtown hotels. Good amenities and the buffet breakfast is excellent value for money. I stayed in the Carson tower and found the noise from the street to be loud at times even on the 14th floor, however there were free ear plugs provided. The room itself was modern, large and clean with a good shower in the bathroom. There was a small in room safe, too small for a laptop, but big enough for documents and a few valuables. The free WiFi was reliable, fast enough for most and available all over the hotel.
Getting to the strip was easy with a bus stop just outside and a 24hr bus service that's crowded at times, but safe and reliable.
Love staying at the golden nugget but when booking through allegiant make sure to check the resort fees. It's not included in the cost, its charged at check in.
Went in and had a great time at the black jack tables. You get to spin a wheel if you hit black jack. Only went in for gambling so didn't eat or stay overnight.
Good place to start your evening in old Vegas. Lots of fun casino tables to choose from. I highly recommend the blackjack tables near the entrances to the strip.
Rooms are spacious, employees are approachable and helpful, water pressure is great in the shower. The hotel is beautifully renovated. The only improvement needed are SIGNS from the Self Parking or any entrance, guiding you to the Hotel Lobby/Registration Area. There Are No Signs!!!! So many visitors including us, had to ask employees for directions.
Enjoyed waking up to construction on the floor 2 doors down. Room we stayed in was out dated, been in La Quinta rooms just as nice as upgraded rooms. Pool is nice, but small. Best part of the hotel was the restaurants and the ease of Uber to the Strip.
Definitely better than gambling on the strip. Wish they still had some of the old machines though. Not fond of these Penny machines that don't pay out.
$105 for pedicure & additional $25 to remove gel polish plus a 20% gratuity added in....giving its casino spa prices, that s understandable. What wasn t appreciated was we were told our shellac appointments were for an hour, however we were out front paying at 45 mins into the appointment. The only shellac available was CND - a very average quality brand you can buy at Walmart or Sally Beauty supplies. Spa is beautiful, but would not recommend nail services.
One of the cleaner casinos on Fremont St. Beautiful outdoor pool with a tank in the center of it all... water slide goes through the tank. Free to anyone, too.
My husband and I stopped in on 11/23 (our anniversary) after a long drive and visit to the Hoover Dam. The staff were friendly, the room was beautiful and we slept so well! Thank you all for your hospitality, we will return in the future!
Very nice weekend stay! This resort surpassed my expectations. It isn't as "fancy" as your high class Cosmo or Bellagio hotels, but it is a really nice "apartment" setting with full kitchen and living room, even a fireplace. Restroom were really nice tile. Comfy beds. I've stayed in over 10 Holiday Inn Club Vacations in Texas, Missouri, and Florida, and have to say this is the nicest one yet. We arrived at 9am and they let us checkin right away, rather than making us wait til 3pm like a hotel would have. Highly recommend and I'm staying again!
The renovations of this place makes it look very up-to-date against the strip casinos and the pool is very unique that has a shark tank going through it.
The Golden Nugget has an excellent sports book. Comfortable seating and good security. The show every NBA game and will put requested games on when possible. The food is about what you expect from downtown resorts, reasonable quality and reasonable price but nothing special. I will eat there again. My only complaint is the high minimums on table games during the weekend, just like every other downtown casino that raises their minimum on weekends, lots of tables stay empty and the action fades early.
The upgrade package in the gold tower is phenomenal, the top 3 floors are private. The room we got is really well laid out. We have stayed at the New York New York and hands down the golden nugget blows it away. Only about a 10 min walk from the car to the room, there is even a TV in the mirror in the bathroom. This makes us feel like a millionaire, and we are far from that.
I should take a star off for the loud music that you can not hear. Golden Nugget is my favorite place on Freemont St. And one of my favorites here in Vegas.
I am having such a great time. We staying here for a week and the experience has been amazing. I want to thank the reservations supervisors Jonathan for helping my crew and I get the room we needed and being so patient.
Nice hotel, but you can't get any sleep when you are in your room. Music from Fremont Street is so loud. They even provide ear plugs in the room! They also double charged our credit card when eating at the buffet as well as being charged to our room. Not a good experience.
