I like the facilities here that are available. Swimming pool and gym also a good range of places to eat at the hotel. One set back the room I was staying in was extremely warm and no way of cooling it down without turning of the radiator or opening the window. Also I could here snoring from the opposite room other than that nice and clean rooms and an open layout. Nice place to stop.

Lovely staff , great bar and dining options, 2 huge function rooms and plenty of conference rooms. Next door to massive playground and trian station to Dublin 1 min walk from entrance. Leisure facilities on site

Katie on reception was just the loveliest lady to have greeting customers as they arrive. So friendly and efficient. Had a great laugh about teenagers with her as we are staying with a 14yr old girl!! She will know what I mean.
We will definitely be back. Room is super (105) ..

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Neat clean rooms. There is a separate swimming pool where children are allowed, but you are not allowed to do anything there, so why is a distinction I find strange?

I normally use the gym here, but I won t be using it again and I will most definitely not be renewing my membership. Management refused travellers who wanted to sit down and eat, for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Disgusting. I will not be stepping foot inside the Glenroyal again.

Stayed here with my wife & 3 kids (10, 12, & 18mths) for two nights B&B. We had asked for a cot to be in the room - but no sign of same on arrival. To be fair the room was a good size, but we would have liked a small fridge especially for trying to keep milk fresh for the baby, most family rooms we have stayed in have this facility. The first night we had 3 girls staying next door on a night out and were quite loud on their return in the early hours which woke the baby - not a good night. The second night we had children left on their own in the room by their parents and understandably they were enjoying themselves running up and down - baby awake again - not a good 2nd night. On both occasions I asked reception to send the proter up - which they did and he was veryt helpful, we found all the staff to be very helpful during our stay. The problem is the walls between the rooms are paper thin so that's just what you have to put up with!!. We ate in the Thai restaurant - which advertises it's prices in the lifts of the hotel - but they actually charge quite a bit more when you get the bill!!, the food was disappointing for the price. There are many good eateries in Maynooth so don't get caught like we did!.
The leisure centre in the hotel is excellent -kids loved it, also the children's play room is a super idea - but the heat is rarely on so the place is really cold and uninviting for the kids.
Overall this hotel in our opinion has great potential for family stays, but needs to make a few changes to be more family friendly.
I would rate it 3/5

We ate in the restaurant rather than the bar, the latter being very loud. Staff were pleasant, food was decent for the price point but nothing amazing (we only had mains and desserts). Despite table of 8 there was no sign of a wine/drinks menu anywhere.
My fish and chips had a nice piece of white fish in decent batter but the chips and peas were nothing to write home about. Sticky toffee pudding turned out to be a bit dry internally with not enough toffee sauce to balance this out although the icecream helped it along.
Would probably come back and try out something else next time

Great conference place with nice working rooms and plenty space around for parallel activities. We also had a our lunch there with tasteful steaks, good service and cozy environment. Would totally recommend it for seminars, conferences, workshops, open events and celebrations. Friendly staff available to support.

I was in the hotel for one night with my family and i was upset because we arrive at 13:30 in the hotel but we get the room only at 4 pm and next day at 12 they call me to check out as soon as possible. The room was clean and very nice. I will like to repeat the experience but they must do some with the check in and out !!!

had a Christmas party last weekend and the only 2 good things about the food was the first and last course.
Decoration was good, and the people behind the bar were also quick and polite.

I would go there again without a party. to see if the food is better. because it was like the dishwasher boy was making the food.
had to go to the mac afterwards to get something to eat.

It's a nice place, clean and friendly. The rooms are pretty small, the desk small, the shower small, the armoire average, the bed is average. It's good walking distance to stores and restaurants and pubs. I've stayed here before and I'll stay again - good clean place to sleep!

Paulinea Natalia and neieve top chicks. Dedicated and committed in their own special skill set. Paulinea management material. Natalia perfect host and customer relations. And neieve a top asset and hard worker who will shine bright in whatever she does. I had a A+ experience at the Glen royal. The place is totally dated to the 90s and rooms were umm well. So much potential yet whoever is in charge wi ling to let it go to the dogs. Bar girls made my stay. x

Lovely setting but had a dreadful breakfast there. Food is not freshly cooked and, left in hot plate for extended period, it gets cold and hard. Still they seem happy to serve it. Badly trained staff.

Very good hotel, with a nice restaurant inside. Great coffee shop, Shoda, just opened up beside the hotel, but the crowning glory is the leisure centre, part of the hotel, which consists of a very good gym with great staff on hand all the time, and 2 super swimming pools. One pool caters exclusively for adults, and is a bit cooler than the family pool, which helps when swimming.
