Although I found the constant phone calls, and repetitive requests for information (already given) extremely annoying, I wasn't going to leave a bad review as I realise these people were just doing their jobs, but I've had enough now. In April I lost my mum, and not wanting to deal with the constant hassle from these calls I asked them to cease all claims/investigations on my behalf and explained the situation, I was told over the phone they would do that and close the claim. I still continued to receive calls after that which my partner kindly dealt with and told them again I was not interested. It is now June and the phone calls have started again, trying to discuss going further with my claim, and when I explained about previously asking to cancel all PPI claims and asked why hasn't this been done? She suddenly couldn't hear me and started saying hello, hello? Like the line had gone. Obviously money is more important to you than common decency.

Update: 26/6/20 so despite asking for it to be cancelled by phone, and putting in an electronic cancellation request I've had another phonecall this morning updating me on my claim!

Avoid at all costs, they closed down my claim saying they tried to contact me for more information, they didnt contact me at all, first i heard was a msg saying your claim is shut, when i checked why, there was five unread documents that i knew nothing about, tell the bloody customer next time!!!!

Absolutely self self self, dont hear anything for months about PPI claim chase up via facebook messenger in the end as no letter or email response to be told file closed, maybe the correspondence got lost in the post, which is totally wierd as another member of my household who had a successful claim gets chaised for their cut before the cheque arrives. Communication when your asking for something is none existent when they want something sure as hell they will be on your back a dozen times a day appziling

Started PPI search but cancelled it due to persistent texts and emails hassling me to sign forms. Even after cancellation forms submitted still text after text ! JUST GOT ANOTHER ONE WHILST WRITING THIS - had to write and threaten them with GDPR and Information Commissioner. Too desperate marketing....not good.

what an absolute Disgrace this company are...first...

what an absolute Disgrace this company are...first of all it would be nice to even understand what the operative is even saying there is only so many times a person can say pardon....I trusted these cowboys to investigate a PPI claim..well after supplying all the details on numerous occasions and even supplying the original Morgage offer documents and acceptance from June 1988 they insisted I supply more details. ..what ... what...nobody can supply more details than the original document. .I am now holding my head in my hands...what else was the operative wanting to know..guess what he said e read off like a robot my name and d.o.b.all was going well till he read out my addresses I have lived at..He read out addresses that I have never even lived at !!!! what else could go wrong...He read out the name of thePPI claim that I had against a large building society. ..NO No No...it was wrong...I Have now given up with these cowboys and I wonder how they even exist as a UK company...it's probably too late to say get your act together but I'm a fair chap....GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. ...on a positive. ..it never cost me a bean!!!!!!

Not to much hassle, but i advise doing it your self, the fees do work out rather expensive, ie 10000 offer from bank but bank takes tax out before sending you the money ie 8500 paid into your account, GB takes 25% fee plus 20%tax of the full 10000 so you end up with a bill for 3000 so you actually end up with only 5500, still good but not as good as going alone, advise check Martin Lewis's money site and use his forms and get the full amount you are owed, ps when bills are due it is an english speaking person any other enquires or calls are from Africa or similar and hard to understand

They delt quickly with my claim and were professional at all times. I would recommend them to others and already have. Thank you for retreaving my money. I didn't know was mine. If i find any other ppi im might be owed i would use Gladstone brookes again.

The most infuriating and frustrating company you c...

The most infuriating and frustrating company you can imagine, for 6 months they have been sending the same form without attachments for me to sign, I call them and ask for the attachments, they say they will re send them, after a month I get the same letter saying I have not returned the form, I call and they say they will re send it, after a month I get the same letter.
I return it saying no attachments received, this has gone on since July.
I made a complaint and then received a letter saying they have looked into it and have made a final decision, the only problem is they don't tell me what it is.
I know I paid ppi,t know I paid it, the lender admits I paid it but this company is bogged down sending me incomplete forms to sign every month.
How do they operate? The number for the complaints department rings then cuts you off, you call the general number and you hold for half an hour for the call to be answered and they still can't transfer you.

Update, over a year later and providing all the information and documents requested, I received a letter from the lender saying as they had not heard from GB they were writing directly to me and closing the complainant and had not received anything from GB.
I called GB , 1 hour wait and got through to South Africa call centre who are unable to confirm what they have done. Asked for the complaints department and on hold for 30 minutes. In the end asked if they could call me back.
Two weeks later I receive a letter from GB saying sorry and closing their file, no mention of ending the contract or waiving their fee although this is implied. Haven't got an hour and a half to call again.
Perhaps they have moved on to bigger claims following covid.
Wish I had approached the lender directly last year.

I have on a number of occasions I have told Gladstone Brooke's to stop pursuing Halifax for PPI as I never asked them to look at my mortgage only my credit cards. But today I got a call from Halifax asking me if I wanted to pursue my claim mmmmmm and of course I said no thanks let's hope a letter from Halifax might do the trick this time

I wouldnt give them 1 star they are like a pack of wolfs they aint interested until you get ya pay out I did most of the chasing myself and the min I got the money they ring, texted and email you all day every day until you pay even if the cheque hasnt cleared the staff are rude and need customer service training I would never use again and would not recommend to anyone do it yourself, by the time you pay these there is no point claiming as they take their percentage plus VAT and then ya taxed on it on it not worth the hassle as bad as door step lenders!

Started 2 claims in April and its now October and just being fed all the excuses about the advertised timescales. Useless. Signed all documents twice now and sent the requested I.D, chasing them now weekly. Don't bother. Do it yourself. I had 3 other Ppi accounts I chased up AFTER the date I started these 2 and both came through within 8 weeks! I bet they'll resort to being an accident claims factory after the ppi deadline. Joke

They are useless cannot understand half what the staff say and cancelled claim after 3 days what part of my mobile phone is not compatible do they not understand as for their TV ad its the best comedy on tv. The first call taker asked for store card number which I gave him he then asked for bank details which I did not give sounds very iffy to me. Hope they don't bombard me with calls or it will be a trip to head office. What a bunch of muppets.

Great service kept in touch by text and phone. Got ppi back from 1998. Without them I would not have bothered to claim from 20 years ago but they encouraged me too and did all the hard work. I just need to spend it . Happy days

Yes they found PPI, they charged 25% plus VAT (ripoff for what they did)and swamped me with paperwork and calls.... the paperwork was duplicated to such a degree that I had a pile 4 inches high for 2 claims... they are incompetent and departments don't talk to each other... and when you want them to call you back, they don't bother... Their claim that your PPI redress will be sorted within 16-21 weeks is optomistic at best... I started my claim in Jan of this year... they are still chuntering on with one of them now (late November)
if you can do it yourself, save your money and peace of mind..... Avoid

Don't bother, they will Spam you even when you don't want them to continue with your claim. They probably even sell your personal information on as I've been spammed by 3rd parties too.

Call centre in South Africa, they get your details wrong as they don't understand you.

Claims centre and head office in different locations and they don't talk to each other.

Do it yourself (Claim), you will not regret it

Very poor customer service. E mails returned by postmaster. When calling, calls taken by people they have outsourced customer services to abroad. Rather than as you would expect, tell you they will look at your Portal details, they appear to be reading off a script. They had absolutely no information on my case. Could not answer any of my questions, and just repeated themselves continuously, talking over me all the time. I will be sending them a letter - by registered mail - to advise them I do not wish them to handle any of the claims they tell me are 'pending'. I have claimed myself in the past and received good outcomes. Wish I had never heard of this company.

Not a great service! For some totally unknown reason, I decided to let Gladstone Brookes handle my PPI claim to "take the stress out of it". What a huge mistake! I received numerous calls last week telling me I would be getting a settlement letter soon and to contact them.

When the letter arrived from Natwest I did just that and informed them of the offer figure. I asked about challenging the amount, but they were unhelpful, uninformative and obviously couldn't have cared less. Because of this, I decided to accept the amount and requested their invoice, only for them to incorrectly state the offer amount and try to get MORE that their already substantial 24% fee. There is absolutely no way I will pay an inaccurately made out invoice when they are perfectly aware of the correct settlement amount. I wish I had a time machine....

They managed to reclaim some money back from an old credit card for me, which I was pleased with. Then after the PPI deadline i get some chump from GB trying to sell me cheaper life insurance and with the usual underhanded techniques you would expect from one of companies that mis-sold the dodgy PPI in the first place. The man was rude and abrupt.

They took all the hassle out of making numerous PPI claims in fact they found and followed through in accounts I had long forgotten about and the financial results were amazing. Would defo recommend them to anyone who thinks they might have had PPI and yes they charge if they are successful but they do all the work!!

If I cud put -1 I would. Awful customer service. Never send paperwork out then cancel searches because you haven't filled in the paperwork they never sent u in the 1st place!! Refuse your calls when you try to ring and sort things! Blocked my house phone as well as mobile! Laughing down the phone at you when trying to tell you some 'important' information! So I said I would wait for someone more responsible to ring me! And hung up! Would not recommend to anyone! Avoid avoid avoid!

If I could give a 0 rating I would. I contacted them about PPI, and after lots of calls I did receive a good amount and I was very happy.... until they then started to send emails, phone calls and letters. I told them twice on the phone, 4 times on email that I have not yet received any money and each time I was told that it was OK and my file will be updated. Now, I am guessing their file is a etch a sketch and as soon as another call comes in its shaken and lost forever...

I have even given them a name and number of who to contact at the place who are paying me, but yet it gets ignored each time. Terrible after service.

Then a week after that had a txt saying they are still waiting for me to return said documents, Call centre staff in another part of the world and when put through to the main office I was met with a lady who had no customer skills was rude.... They look into everything for you and when they find the ppi is the only time when they call you so there's no nuisance calls. I have never been bothered by them and they do such a wonderful job for each customer. The charges I am happy to pay as you wouldn't have the money anyway unless you have the time and patience to try and find your ppi owed. Great job Gladstone Brookes

I would highly recommend Gladstone Brookes the telephonists that I spoke to were all very friendly and professional, there were some initial communication issues but they soon ironed themselves out, the mail started to come in this kept me updated all the way regarding what was happening with my claims in the end I looked forward to the mail arriving on my door mat from your company, especially when the cheques started to arrive, Thank you all so very much for all of the hard work every one at GB has put in I appreciate we are in March but I would like to say a belated Happy new year to all at GB keep up the good work

Phoned on numerous occasions. Is there no one at the end of there phone lines . WHO understands English. They have given up on all my claims . There's no commitment at all by there staff . I suppose most of them will be out of a job after this claim Rush finishes . So they must feel despondent as well

Also there is no email address. I need to give them some additional info but there is no means of doing this except by post, and I want to discuss it. Not impressed !

I'm of rather fragile health, I enquired as to what would be involved in claiming ppi and from that moment I deluged with phone calls, letters and emails even after I'd told them I wasn't interested. The result has been my health is now worse because of the stress and I'm still being harassed by them, if it carries I shall be making a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

Totally useless organisation.

Totally useless organisation.
Impossible to contact, left hanging on the phone listening to their repetitious and empty marketing messages.
They hide behind their client portal and send you endless text messages, telling you that the lenders concerned cannot find your accounts and ask you to continually confirm your information, which I have done more times than I care to remember.
Answer the phone GB's!!.
I am taking this matter elsewhere to someone who is more competent than you are at PPI claims.

Cant give zero no true understanding of English staff and very arrogantly spoken too and when finally started getting somewhere was told that I had to sort myself on some of the companies that I had a claim against and on top of the non lowest commission they said I should sort it.... avoid like the plague are not an English helpful people as how they advertise them selves

Absolutely disgusted with the service. They wanted to talk to me every day when they needed more info but they have now closed the case because they couldn't find my policy when i had sent the policy number AND a copy of the agreement to them. Really disappointing as the deadline has gone now and I would of been due thousands from this PPI claim. really quite gutted.

Just so that you know that email address that you keep telling people to email is no longer in service!

Outstandingly unprofessional and willing to throw in the towel, even before the first hurdle (which is rather impressive)

On your first call you talk to someone based in the U.K. After this, you get through to abroad, where communication is nearly impossible. When they want monies from you, you will talk to someone in the U.K! They only managed one out of several supplied to them.

I would never use again and never reccomend.

Waste of time. Once they have you signed up only contact they make is repeatedly sending you forms to sign although you have signed it 6-7 times already .
They send you texts saying was unable to reach you today fone us . That is a lie my fone is on 24/7 no one tried everyone else managed to get hold of me .
Not happy at all with the service.
If you want my advice USE ANOTHER COMPANY they can't be as bad as Gladstone Brookes .

This company earned its one star, last of long line of bad service was letter saying FOS had said no to overturn original decision and read enclosed details, there were no enclosed details, and wrong tel number given should i wish to contact the FOS, also took letter over two weeks to get to me.

Useless company! Been waiting 18 months for one claim! Signed lots of paper work but then they come back 2 months later asking for proof of ID etc, sent it off and it was rejected as the photocopy was too faint - even though other documents sent were printed from same printer! I wouldn't bother with this company, try and do it yourself and save money!
