Food is good and smartly done, good atmosphere but the clientele is nouveau riche loud mouthed arriviste. Service on arrival is dire. You could be ignored, walked on top of by the clientele...needs an attitude check.

Beautiful bar and amazing staff,Christian and Mittey were particularly friendly, had an amazing time and would definitely return. Happy hour is a fab bargain!
The cafe looks the part, with a beautiful interior, however the food really didn't match! We came on a Sunday for breakfast and was a little shocked to see loaves of Kingsmill bread on the side, just being whacked in the toaster, when they are literally right next to a fresh bakery... (When you're paying through the nose, you'd at least expect homemade bread?!). They also put a huge amount of black pepper in the eggs so had to send them back as they were inedible... However our waitress was really sweet about it, so thank you for that. Unfortunately every table around us had some sort of complaint as well... Wouldn't come back!
Not recommended - slow and unorganised service, staff heard commenting to each other they could not help busier staff as it was not their section. Drinks arrived long after food, and long gaps between peoples food arriving. Food is average at best and overpriced.
As soon as I walked in I knew I would like the place it has a cosy warm feel to it with a stunning lay out. I took a seat by the bar which had lovely comfortable stools to sit down on and I ordered a few dishes such as the lamb channut the crispy cauliflower and a few other dishes. Wowowow the food was simply exquisite the taste and the quality was just divine and I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu. Thank you for s wonderful experience.
Service slow. Waiter brought the wrong food. Food was cold by the time it arrived. Charged us the right food though. Complete desaster and I am not surprised it went into adminstration. Shame though it had an exciting start.
What was lacking from their choice of drinks (no beer and limited wines) was made up for in service which was brilliant. Expensive for a Brasserie but you on the high street.
Food is good and chefs are very friendly Unfortunately they have to compensate for a drunk bartender who is screaming at everyone who asks for a drink. 0 service, we couldn t even get water.
It is a shame that I am having to get this nicely decorated new cafe such a low rate. My past experience at this restaurant wasa disaster. Not only was the service Excruciatingly slow, orders were missed and the orders that did come we are wrong. The food was cold when it finally did come and I had to send it back. The cutlery was dirty they did not have the correct glasses for the wine, they had run out of plates, they had kitchen roll instead of napkins, they had lost the key to the disabled toilet was one of the members of our party were in a wheelchair. When the bill came along things had been charged. The first time I tried out the cafe they had run out food and had to make up dishes to give us. The next time I went I was a little more hopeful the food was good but the service was very slow.
Quality of food is ok. Portions too small for the prices you're paying. You can find better Israeli food, half the price and larger portions in Golders Green (5min drive away). Staff behaved as if they couldn't care less about their customers, although if all the stories are true, they're not being paid/paid late. Interior already looking tired after 6months of being open. Better alternatives in Hampstead.
Saturday afternoon I called cafe Hampstead to ask if it were possible for my boyfriend and I to walk in and have a table for 2 for lunch. The lady on the phone proceeded to tell me they were fully booked and did not accept walk ins. As we were in the area we decided to try our luck. When we arrived there were two tables sat down having lunch and we were told we were allowed a table straight away. So the lady on the phone had out right lied and was turning away business. Our experience didn t get much better after this. The food was bland and over priced. Especially the chicken thighs and Israeli salad. The plastic glasses we were served water in were dirty. The manager a loud and unwelcoming woman, whom walks around with holes in her tights. All in all the staff are also quite scruffy, wearing hoodies, jeans and one a Nike gym shirt with his headphones around his neck?! still serving people. It s such a shame because the interior of Cafe Hampstead could be beautiful but it s unkept and dirty. It seems like all the staff do not care. This place will not last long.
Sat down, after ordering drinks/starters (having already sat down for 20 mins) we were told that no main courses were being served. This should've been mentioned at arrival or at the very least when ordering. We were made to feel their starters were "so hearty they will do". Towards the end of the meal (which consisted of small starters only), we were being made to feel like we had to give the waiters cash tips as we heard the management don't pay their staff fair tips. No apologies were given but by now we weren't expecting them. Poor service, badly run. Won't go back.
"Unfit for purpose ". I'm no longer surprised this business has gone bust. The food served here is atrocious and vile. The ambience is childish especially once inside. Awful unprofessional incompetent staff.
My favourite restaurant in Hampstead, I won't eat anywhere else now! The creamy hummus and pitta is a perfect starter and the burnt aubergine, cauliflower and all the lamb dishes are all to die for. This place perfectly combines the usual cafe comfort food favourites with an Israeli influence. The stunning decor and friendly staff create a wonderful dining environment, I can't fault the service every time I come. 10/10 would highly recommend!
Avoid at all costs - this restaurant refuses to pay it;s staff for months, a deliberate policy from disgusting management who have a long track record of doing this
Cafe Hampstead has some of the best breakfast I have ever had, the cafe feels very cozy and the staff are extremely helpful. My wife and I love it and will keep coming back.
The service here, is actually commical. Food is ok. But it is the most poorly run place in all of northern london. If you want to get really really bad service, and experience the true meaning of location location location then come here. It amazes me how ever the most poorly run stores in london still turn a profit. Come and experience this joke for yourselves. :)
Love the interior and atmosphere of this place. Food is great too! Salad is very fresh and well seasoned. Really enjoyed prawn kabab too. Service is a little slow to begin with but overall a great spot to have dinner dates. Oh and nice Bellini!!
I have been for dinner 4 times over the last year. The first time, literally 2 days after the opening, place was crowded and food/service amazing. Unfortunately the place has overall worsen... bad service(slow and they forget orders), once they run out of water, another time of coffee (had to wait 30 mins for an espresso, they went out to buy sone they told me...) card reader not working and menu always the same...bad management i d say...but price hasnt: too expensive for what you get
Can't comment on food, but attentive staff, great cocktails (margarita and old fashioned both exceptionally good, easily a rival for a hawksmoor equivalent and at a tenner ideal) and live jazz on a Friday.
Made a reservation for brunch only to arrive and be told the chef never arrived so they were not serving food. We were not even called that morning or given any warning. Will definitely not be visiting here again.
The decor was lovely and the idea of having a bar upstairs (unfinished ATM) will be amazing for Hampstead. However, the food was very bland and the female manager was particularly rude and unfriendly.
Unfortunately our last visit for a while. Great food when when you can get it, but recently missing items from an already limited menu. Only 3 menu items for breakfast and today there was no shahsuka; last time no French Toast (which is amazing btw albeit today with none of the usual compote). The service can be up and down. Today was really bad in parts and quite good in others. Potentially great place but has a lot of creases to smooth out. Service improvement and order enough food to cover the menu.
Service was badly managed, our order was forgotten and we were waiting for a long time. Management on the floor had a very bad attitude I hope cafe owners reconsider! This is so unfortunate cause the food actually was very tasty but the worse experience we had!
What an awful experience . I am surprised that places like this still exist in today s day and age.
They have small breakfast menu and even that is not all in stock - missing out on bread and salmon when you only have 5 things on your breakfast menus is inexcusable.
We had to order the same thing several times and when it came it seemed to not arrive together. We also had to chase for the same things
What was most shocking We came here for a birthday and they didn t have desserts or even couldn t supply a candle
I know that there are a lot of bad reviews about the place - and looking at how many empty seats there were , I could see that thy are having an impact.
This place would have great potential , if they invested in some software to automatically send orders to the kitchen using a mobile device , sorted out their menu and added some desserts. ( even if they bought them in )
This would free up the staff to actually focusing on giving a good experience to customers.
Hope the manager pays attention to this before they have to close
Great place with delicious food and beautiful interior. I love positive vibes here, super friendly staff and an open kitchen. I look forward to the second floor opening :-)
The appetisers and sides might worth more of a hassle than the Mains. I was surprised on how different the mains proportions are, some of them were utterly disgrace whilst others were tasty and well balanced, so best to search ahead and relies on the sides and appetisers.
If you wanna try modern middle eastern cuisine, this is one of the best places in London. Amazing interior design and good service. Great selection of wines and delicious food! Compliments to the chef!
Food was fine nothing special. Very loud atmosphere. I was surprised to be asked to leave the table less than 1.5 hrs into our 2 hour reservation. Mid-eating we were told the next group had arrived and they needed the table within ten minutes. Lots of choices in London, I wouldn't make this one of them.
Great vibes, the cafe has a lovely feel from when you walk in the door to when you sit down, the decor is great and the staff a really nice. The food is incredible and I will be coming back with some family.
I was there about 3days ago and the restaurant get really good I went before about 7 mounts ago and was in a bad conditions the food was cold and the staff wasn't that hard workers . But now every thing changed I will like to start by the good music that is in there is makes you smile and get nice memories also I want to say about food before they didn't have any decorations but now they have really nice presentation of the food let's not forget about the cocktails and the staff..the cocktails they are very tasty and looks amazing the staff looks professional and with nice smile on them faces. I really enjoyed and i will go every weekend .. I really enjoy the new changes that happens in this mounths .
The food is fine, good simple menu, but the place is being let down by diabolical service. Some days you go the service is professional, other days you go and it's like they've left a bunch of mopey teenagers in charge to run the place (literally). We had to ask for our cutlery twice, in the end I went in and got them myself, they also completely forgot our drinks, again had to go back in and ask then and then they didn't clear our plates away after we'd finished.
All this was going on while members of staff came outside and took turns to chain-smoke on the table next to us, clearly oblivious or uncaring as to customers needs. This is only the second time in my life I have ever demanded the service charge be taken off a bill at the end. I was told they couldnt take card payment, but when i said i didnt have any cash suddenly a card machine magically appeared.
Also on a separate but important note, please do a dessert menu (if they have one, the moron that was supposed to be looking after us told us there wasn't anything except tiramasu). Won't be hurrying back, Church Row or even the local Cafe Rouge is superior.
The food is really delicious and the decor is beautiful. However, the service still needs a lot of improvement as the waiting staffs are quite cold thus cannot live up the atmosphere of the place.
After ordering the waitress informed us they had run out of pizza...we ordered chicken schnitzel with mash potatoes and the mash tasted like powder mash potatoes with water!! Then the manager decided to chose the table next to us to sit with the kitchen staff to discuss why they were no pizzas which meant a very heated discussion! Even when the place is very nice I would not recommend going for the food maybe better for a drink.
Fantastic food in this exquisite venue. Newly launched, the food and ambience impresses and adds a much needed dining and lounging destination to Hampstead. Well done! PS: Simone is fantastic
I was two days ago at Caffe hampstead I mean they had an excellent work force .. the food was delicious the same and the cocktails .. the waiters were grueling forces always been careful that everything was okay ... can says it was very nice
This has become my favourite cafe in London, the interior and vibe is amazing and the food is out of this world, i have never wanted to come back to a cafe more.
Beautiful restaurant, awful service! Have tried this place three times, and as much as I loved the food and decor, I can t bring myself to go back. Hopefully they can sort that out soon...
Fantastic Middle Eastern food in a fresh, crisp setting. Kitchen is expertly managed, on top of every detail and wait staff is super friendly. Incredible lamb and grilled eggplant, as well as adventurous wine selection! Only draw back was the host wanted to shuffle me around while I ate. Hopefully this is only a moment in time and not a reflection of how they operate everyday.
Otherwise, highly recommended! Looking forward to returning!
We went there for breakfast but left without ordering anything because the menu didn't inspire us and it was empty. Nice looking place, though. And friendly staff.
I was very curious to meet Cafe Hampstead and I confess that I was disappointed. The service was slow and I had to ask for it.Mos 3 times for a highchair for my son. Apparently there were several menu items not available and on the 4th attempt I was able to order. When I ordered the wine there was also no wine I ordered so I asked the waitress what it actually had. The food is tasty and the atmosphere beautiful but apparently the management leaves something to be desired
