Ghent Marriott Hotel Review

Beautiful rooms, location exceptionally well in a specially designed hotel. Very friendly staff.
Beds are generally too soft and no shower (shower in bath).

Very good establishments, in the center of Ghent. Room with good cleanliness and a beautiful hotel.

Great location, found a Deluxe King for 135eur / night on the weekend. Nice bedroom, beautiful hall. Breakfast overpriced, such a pity.

Location is superb. Good breakfast, good service, nice rooms. Parking is pretty expensive.

Everything you would expect from Marriot. First class service, location and unique rooms. In the heart of everything you will love to call this home for a few days.

It's a well kept and run chain hotel. They do exactly what you'd expect. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, in the centre of the older city center.

Perfect lying. Nice pleasant and clean rooms. Late check out until 12:00. Great breakfast buffet. In short, perfect for a weekend away.
Downside: parking was already full at 22:00.

Stayed 2 nights in comfort room. Overall it was OK. Rooms small but quiet and fairly comfortable. The room and especially the bathroom needed some fixing or an update. Lobby was nice. Location excellent. Breakfast was only OK for this level of hotel. Overall is was acceptable but I l will elsewhere when returning to beautiful Gent.

Perfect located in center, still reachable by car and ample parking facilities in vicinity. A good restaurant on site, but you are also in the heart of downtown with plenty of bars, restaurants and bakeries. The lobby is nice, but the rooms start to be a little dated but have all the amenities necessary.

Excellent hotel for business purposes. Nice and cosy as well for family holidays. Very comfortable beds and nice breakfast!

There are professionals at work. Every detail fits. The location is a dream. You can not stay in Ghent better.

Magnificent hotel near the city center. The river view room is simply exceptional (special mention for the incredible bedding which no longer makes you want to take off from the bed). Very nice little note from the hotel staff: a small card to wish me a happy birthday.

Strange bathroom setup and limited power outlets, but otherwise nice comfortable rooms. Let me check in at 10 AM after my transatlantic flight which was a huge plus. Excellent location, right along the river in the heart of the old city.

If you need a place to stay in Ghent, you can stop looking. This hotel is perfect for a family getaway or a business meeting. It s been my home for 3 weeks, and has become my home away from home. The front desk staff are great. They are extremely polite and strive to ensure guests are happy. The hotel is in a fantastic location. You can walk out the door and be on the canal. There are great views and it s fun to people watch. Rooms are very quiet which is a major plus. There are multiple group meetings throughout the week, but I never hear anyone while in my room. The room is large enough that I don t feel crowded during the long stay. Parking is convenient and right under the hotel. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. My room is on the street side, but I ve heard the rooms overlooking the canal are fantastic. I highly recommended the hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I do wish I stayed longer. Standard sized rooms by my European experiences so far. The staff were welcoming. The location is unbeatable, with an entrance with direct access to the canal/river. The breakfast was amazing. I even got to make my own Marriott stamped waffle! The parking is expensive and not free to guests, which is a shame, but it didn't take away much from my experience. If I return to Ghent, this is where I'd stay again.

I really liked this hotel. It's very attractive for a start- on the city centre side it looks like a classic old Ghent building but go through into the hotel itself and it's a great piece of modern architecture that makes it really stylish.

Rooms are spacious, smart and very comfortable. One of the best nights sleeps I've had in a while.

Recommend.

Neat finish, both inside and out. Large hall with bar to sit comfortably. Rooms are good, some luxury suites are also present.

Hotel is nicely located in the old city center. Beautifully integrated in the surrounding buildings. Check in was smooth and staff friendly. Elevators are slow. Bed ok and shower good. Windows do not open. Breakfast was great.

This hotel has some beautiful rooms to go with this great town. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My wife and I immediately decided we could revisit Ghent since the town and hotel are so nice.

I wad there for 9 nights. Beautiful hotel located in the perfect spot! Service was amazing, food and drinks were great. Very comfortable and clean room. So many special,.personal touches. I'm spoiled and have to get used to real life again!

Hotel located in central Ghent. The best night view is 1 minute away. There is an underground car park, but the price was rather expensive. TT 40 euros per night parking.

Very central hotel next to Korenlei water channel in historic old town. More central not possible. Within 5min walking you find most of Gent sightseeing points

Excellent service in this Marriott establishment. The Poppi bar in the lobby is excellent as well. Friendly staff all around, good rooms. Only con I can find is that there should be 'premium movie channels' in the rooms, but those are nowhere to be found on the televisions.

A superb hotel ideally located in the center of Ghent. Classic room and very comfortable. Superb suites with views of the Korenlei. Atrium and breakfast room very nice.

Great location and lovely front desk service. Leading up to our visit, customer service was in contact with us to ensure dinner bookings and car accommodations. This was great customer service and I appreciated it very much. However there were a few other things that kept me from giving a 5 star review. First off the lack of a mini bar in the room was a surprise and inconvenient. Having to purchase midnight snacks, coffee, water e.t.c down in the lobby is something that was inconvenient and unexpected and not enjoyable. No complimentary water and coffee in the rooms was disappointing. The cleaning could have been better. Coming back to our room and finding a dirty glass with orange juice still in it really took away from the enjoyment of coming back to our room after a day touring. Also, the TV remote needed new batteries, and was on in the same frozen screen as it was when we left hotel that day, expected cleaning to notice that it was not working and fix while we were away. Most disappointing of all was room service breakfast was bad. Plain and simple, eggs and bacon and sausages were really cold, pastries were hard, eggs were runny and watery, just unpleasant all the way around. Maybe it was just a busy weekend and were understaffed don't know. Would like to add that front desk was quick to find a working remote when I asked for help. All in all, incredible location, good front desk help but other things, ie, room service, cleaning, mini bar stuff could use improvement.

Super friendly service, you feel at home at once. Picturesque surroundings. Seems to be a landmark as a tourist group has been led through the lobby. Adorable place.
