Disastrous cafeteria / bar staff. They came 3 times to ask the command and in the end we left without taking anything! It would be 0 stars but I put 2 for the building and decoration

This is my second stay. Hotel is in a picturesque location opposite the river and bridge. It s still quiet in the room yet you can reach a lively night life in a couple of minutes.

Bed is really comfy and the room as everything you need to make it an enjoyable stay.

Used the gym as well which did its job. It s 24 hours which is a nice touch.

The food is great and so is the staff. Really recommend.

Great location in Central Ghent. The real surprise is out the front door. Interesting architecture behind facade of 18th Century brothel. Staff was very helpful and welcoming.

Perfect location in the heart of the city with a parking directly under the hotel. The hotel is unexpectedly very spacious and the beautiful parts are linked to the new through beautiful architecture. The rooms could use an update, but are still neat and not worn. The breakfast is simply fantastic, with great water service in a beautiful old building. Recommended!

Perfect hotel, service and location. The only bad thing to say is that there are no waffles in the breakfast buffet hahahaha

Great location by the historic stretch along the canals. Lots of restaurants, and activity around all day/night. Boat trips leave right next to the hotel.

Fantastic staff. Spacious and well presented rooms. The hotel is central to any activity you could want to see and do in Ghent. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel - modern with old world charm, great views, and perfect location. Daphne at the front desk is super helpful. Breakfast buffet and dining with a view of the canal is wonderful.

Very clean hotel. Amazing staff that directed us to several places for late dinner and beers once we arrived. Same staff helped us order a taxi to the airport our last night.

This is a gem of the Marriott brand located in the vibrant downtown area overlooking the water. The staff here is outstanding, the rooms were always clean, and the drinks were made to perfection. I highly recommend visiting this hotel if you are in Belgium as this city and hotel offers a one of a kind experience.

Nice brasserie. Modern framework behind a medieval facade. A must for those who visit Ghent. Usually always a place free. Democratic prizes.

Front desk staff are top tier. Room wasn't ready yet, they took my bags and pointed me towards a good bar.

Not quite a 5 star. Rooms were ok, though they are a bit stingy with replenishing toiletries, I didn't have shampoo on a couple of occasions. Gym is adequate. Lifts are super slow. Plenty of good restaurants nearby without having to resort to hotel steak house. Breakfast a bit limited but decent quality in what they do

Great stay at this location. The rooms were tidy and spacious, and the overall architecture amazing. You walk from a medieval looking entrance into an amazingly modern setting with curved ceilings! Location couldn t be better for Ghent, and the plenty of attractions around made it a perfect getaway holiday for me!

Exceptional situation next to the canal and in the historic center. Spacious rooms with all the comforts. Breakfast buffet very complete. Modern but retains the original facade that overlooks the canal.

Amazingly good location. Adequate room. Couldn't check in because of power outage. No hot water after 9 PM. Nice people but service was not good.

Well, the Marriot sells itself. Very good hotel, local with a lot of history. It is worth making a tour and learning about its history.

Very nice hotel by the river in the centre of Ghent. Concierge at reception were very polite and helpful they even gave a map with the best places to visit for authentic Belgium beer. The rooms are clean and spacious they provide robes, towels and products. The beds are double and very comfortable. Overall stay was very impressive however we didn't have the breakfast as it's too pricey and their are some lovely bakeries locally

The only thing that is missing is service, welcoming staff and friendliness. What a shame.

Staff overall seem NOT to care about their guests. How disappointing. A bit of sincere interest would have made a huge difference!!!

Great hotel in a beautiful location, breakfast room overlooking the Korenlei, the central canal of Ghent, close to all the main attractions that Ghent has to offer. Striking contrast between the authentic facade and the modern hall that lies behind it. I can't imagine a better location for a weekend in Ghent.

The hotel is fine but the problem is the awful muzak and the fact that they put on live music at weekends while at the same time not switching off the muzak. You should be prepared for a lot of noise. I stopped going there because of this.

Nice place to just casually walk in and have a hot chocolate on a wet winter evening!! Other drinks are served too.

Nice chain hotel in Ghent. Lovely staff, fully wheelchair accessible rooms and coming areas. Not the most historic building but modern and cosy. Lovely burgers and bar. Ghent is a gorgeous city, well worth spending at least two days or more. Perfect English spoken here.

Good hotel, Qts is their taxi service and they are goooood

Very noble hotel with great breakfast. Nice room with good beds. The location is excellent. Parking should be around the corners P8.

Excellent hotel located on probably the nicest spot in Ghent namely on the Korenlei.
Given the small facade, the large hotel with a very nice lobby is a real surprise.
Very friendly and professional welcome, beautiful stately and very clean rooms.

The staff listens to and cares for its customers. The family room with 2 queen beds, very good bedding. The calm of the room. Parking for the day. The ease of registration. In short, great stay facilitated by the Marriott

Very classy small hotel, in a magical location in the old City of Gent. Superb service, and lovely rooms. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

The hotel is centrally located, so the location is great for tourists. The new traffic management plan may make it more challenging to get to the hotel than before, but that's not the hotel's fault.
I had a botched stay here, and will not be returning. I had a request that the hotel said they would honor, but they did not. On several occasions, I got lied to by hotel employees, and as a platinum + ambassador guest, I would expect better. This hotel definitely needs to step up its game and start doing better. This includes management, who refuses to step out of their office and has front desk personal go back-and-forward to deal with inquiries.
If you want to run a hotel, do it right, and own up to your mistakes.

My best thing about this hotel is its location. Right at the center with a lot of eateries and shops at walking distance. If you drive here, parking can be expensive. The downside to this hotel is not too many rooms with the water view and the absence of a lounge.

If you preorder fish, expect there will be no fish :-)

They overbooked rooms and tried to get two members of our group to share a room and initially refused to refund room. Rooms were nice, clean and well kept though.

Very central hotel, clean and exquisite attention. The breakfasts are very complete and although the prices somewhat high, I recommend it for trips of 2-3 days.

Very nice hotel, with big and well equipped rooms. There was no mini-bar however and river view was 50 extra.

Hotel is great only if you don't interact with any of the staff.
Be aware of the cancellation policy as it seems that's how Marriott makes it's money nowadays. During my last stay there I've parked where the staff instructed me to and I've found afterwards an insulting racist note on my windshield.

A super modern chique hotel. We just entered to view the special arcitecture, and understand how what used to be an old historical building could have turned to something so new and well maintained from the inside. Come and check 4 yourself!

Beautiful hotel in downtown Ghent. Close to tourist sights and shops. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because there is nothing included with the room purchase. Absolutely everything is a la carte, including coffee from the lounge.
