Gentleman Jim's Restaurant Review

Definitely the worst meal I've had in years. The service was abysmal and the food was not fresh. How hard is it to make a fresh garden salad? For them it appears to be not something they are interested in doing. The same is true for the Maryland crab soup. I was told that I had to wait while they "made the soup", but when I received it it was obvious that it was several days old and was just warmed up. I'll not be back anytime soon.

Love the pizza! If you haven't tried the pizza with white sauce, you need to! It is my absolute favorite. I always get my pizza double baked since I like the crust to be a little crunchy under the cheese. The carry-out staff is always fantastic and they always try to get me in and out as quickly as possible!!

Best pizza I've ever had... hands down.
I'm not one that usually takes the time to write reviews, but I had to let those looking for amazing pizza, service and atmosphere know about this place! I'm crazy about good pizza and this one is by far the best I've ever had... nothing like I've eaten before! Ledo's WAS my favorite until now. If you haven't tried this pizza it is a must!

Good American style food. Friendly waitress. Several Tv's with sports channels. Upstairs party room. Quick food order to table.

Its nice when it's warm out has a large deck in the back for folks that smoke n want fresh air.

I have been coming here for many years. Within the past year the pizza quality has gone really down hill. The taste is still the same. However pizza crust is either brittle and too thin, the sauce is way too much, or there isn t an ample amount of cheese. You pay a premium for the pizza, and hope it s going to be good. historically it s been good, but not recently. This is based on at least my last 5-10 visits.

Really enjoy the food! I have a gluten allergy so I can t eat a lot of the food but the things I can eat are delicious! My waitress Lisa was so much fun!

Definitely the best pizza on the planet! The staff is awesome, our server Liam was on point. We have been customers for years , now we live in Laurel and we will continue to make the trip to Gentleman Jim s it s DEFINITELY worth the trip!!

Service is great! Unfortunately, some of the worst pizza I have ever tasted in my life. I'm not sure if it's the cheese or the sauce but it just tastes "off."

Been getting pizza from this business when back in the day they were located in Twinbrook. Md. Now located in Gaithersburg, Md. Still best pizza in Maryland

Best pizza hands down! My father used to take us to their Rockville location every time we had guests in town. Frank Sinatra used to have pizza delivered to his plane when he was in the D.C. area

My friend and I enjoyed our visit the food was good and the menu was full of choices. The staff was nice and took good care of us!

Unfortunately just waited an hour for a pizza because they accidently HUNG UP on the Slice people (third party service they are teamed with, or so I think) hilarious, but also not so much because "hangry."
Slice was very sweet and even though it was not their fault, they compensated me with a credit.
Gentleman Jim's did not. All they did was pretty much say oops even though my husband went into the restaurant three times to check on the pizza.
(The first time he went in they told him they received it and it would be 10 minutes. Ok.. second time they realized it wasn't our order and they never got an order from Slice...)
If you're unable to work with Slice, remove your business from that service maybe.

(Disclaimer: if there isn't actually a partnership with Slice then I understand the confusion and why GJ may have hung up. If that's the case then I will rectify this review.)

They completely messed up my to-go order. No ketchup for the fries (I didn't order) and everything was cold and soggy. When I called, the guy just said sorry... I asked to speak with a manager and he said she was very busy. Will not return.

Very friendly waitress Delaney. Pizza was half price was delicious.

Love the pizza. Sausage, extra cheese, black olives and always request fresh mushroom instead of canned. Great pizza!

I have been going to Gentleman Jim's for many many years. My wife and I have always enjoyed their pizza, the absolute best. I went there on Friday to pickup a carryout order on the way home from work.

There was hardly any sauce and a very thin layer of cheese. We both said "this is not the same as it used to be". We were very disappointed. It still tasted good, but they definitely skimped on the toppings. And at $21.99 for the large I got, I expected much better quality.

GJs is not exactly right on my path home either. I go out of my way to get their pizza. I will doing less and less of this in the future. It was not worth the trip. I emailed them too just to let them know how disappointed I was.
I don't know if they are under new management, have changed their recipe, or have just decided to save some money by not using the same amount of toppings as in the past, but just not the same to me.

And, I usually don't write reviews like this, but it was so underwhelming, I had to. I hope this was just a one-off, we'll see.

We had a great time at this restaurant. We loved the nice atmosphere and the food. The staff members are super affable. I am content we ultimately decided to try this place.

Nice. Free food on Friday and Saturday when DJ playin music. Shots, mixers and beer. Pool. Dance floor. Whites. Blacks. Interracial. Pleasant crowd. Plenty of women.

I've lived 20+ years in MoCo and this was my first visit! I went for the crabby fries, which were delicious! Since their pizza is of legendary status, I got one of those too and was not disappointed!

Great food and service...portion sizes good as well we were very plsed.

My favorite pizza of all time! They use sweet tomatoes and swiss cheese. The crust has become a bit thinner than in the past but hopefully it is just a fluke. The 4 star rating is because the place could use a facelift

Kinda dive-ish, especially the bar. Parking is difficult, as this is a shabby little strip shopping center that's all storefront churches and GJ's. BUT the food is great, the pizza stays true to its Cavalier (Twinbrook) roots, and the staff were terrific - young, energetic, nice, and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place, but head's up about the parking.

I've been eating At Gentleman Jim's since 1975 and I've enjoyed every meal. Their pizza is unique, the sauce is slightly sweet and the cheese is very flavorful. Now that I think about it, I have to get their pizza for dinner tonight!

I've always loved this place. Incredible pizza, and I'm told everything else is great too, I just can't ever get myself to order anything but the pizza. I just wish this location was more convenient for me. I miss the Twinbrook location from back in the day.

I went to the bar upstairs to have a beer and lunch. All I can say is the service is terrible. Not the first time I have experienced bad service there. Never again.

My favorite pizza - crust is thin and crispy, sauce homemade, well-seasoned. Fresh garlic is a must as one of your toppings!

Excellent burgers, great fries and a signature touch with pizza. There is sure to be something for everyone in your family. Good beer selection, too, for the grownups. The spinach salad with a house dressing is big enough to share and will have you fighting over the bottom of the bowl.

Hands down the worst pizza I've ever had in my entire life. I love pizza too so that's saying something. It was barely cut so I had to rip it with my fingers and it was so damn thin it kept falling apart. I actually gave up trying to eat it.

Horrible place felt dirty, staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing, and wasn't able to use the bathroom at all because some overly intoxicated person locked himself in the bedroom and refused to come out.

Great place! Super fun and friendly staff. If you are not a believer in "Maryland style" pizza come try this one. Super tasty, great ingredients and unfortunately each bite just begs for an accompanying tasty beverage!

Meh. This place is nothing special. They seated our group of eight right next to another table of eight which made it cramped for everyone. I ordered crab cakes...they had WAY too much filler and gave me an upset stomach afterwards. If it we're entirely up to me, I would never go there again but certain members of my family seem to like this place.

Best place to get food when in a rush. Their customer service is speedy, rates are fair, fantastic character. Will come visit again
