I will preface this by saying that I was introduced to Gentleman Jim s by my wife. Their family has frequented this establishment since my mother-in-law was a child. We lost a family member and would be in the area so decided to stop in for a quick bit to eat. We were the only costumers in the establishment at 3 in the afternoon. We had always enjoyed just a cheese pizza from here and would order two of them with drinks for my group of six.
Our waitress brought out our drinks and began to pass them out. I was on the opposite side she started so when she got to me she only had two drinks left. I was talking and the next thing I knew was that there was ice cold soda in my lap. She had tried to lean over and hand the soda to the person sitting next to me and had dumped a cup of soda all over me and my wife. I was in shock! The waitress then immediately began laughing at what she had done. It wasn t until my wife addressed the stain on her white sweatshirt that she realized this was a serious mistake. It then took her a couple of minutes to realize that we could not sit at a table full of soda.
She had moved us to a new table and was laughing about the situation at this time. I was not amused and neither was my wife. My wife was so uncomfortable that she left and decided to wait in the car. Not wanting to eat without my wife we decided to get the food to go. The waitress brought out our food and the check. She didn t charge us for a drink and one of the pizzas was a smaller size price. The bill still came to over 32 dollars.
I payed with a card and didn t leave a tip for obvious reasons. Leaving the waitress started to make comments to my children about not leaving a tip. I stopped and asked to speak to the manager. I was told that there was no manager there. I then asked for her name which I was not given. I then asked her for the number to speak to the manager. Which I was not given. I was ignored but she was able to call me a F ing B. (I will leave that word up to your imagination)
I finally saw an employee walking past the door I was standing next to and hollered into him. The owner came out and spoke with me. He was nicer but did make me aware that if he believed every customer who had a problem he would be out of business. He also told me he would call me back with an update after he talked to his employee. Surprise surprise he never called me back.
