Little hard to find. It's below Chrysler Hall. This theater company regularly produces avant garde, memorable shows, with talented casts and crews. Worth seeking out.
A true hidden gem in Norfolk. Generic produces shows that encourages one to develop meaningful connections with others. Go to any show, you won't be disappointed!
The theatre itself is quaint and adorable. It was quite difficult to locate, but luckily a Chrysler staff member walked me there. The play I saw wasn't the most interesting and quite profane, but that doesn't discredit the whole theatre itself. One of the workers let several people cut me in line, but they were kind in helping me find a seat. I would definitely go again, but I would want to see a more interesting play. It was definitely an affordable and enjoyable experience overall.
A hidden treasure of Norfolk. Small black box theater underneath the Chrysler. Reasonable prices and you'll see plays and musicals with great local talent.
The play was phenomenal. A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City was a wonderful, well thought out theatrical play. I would highly recommend it.
Underground hole in the wall theater
They could improve there snack bar where it's chilly due to the basement atmosphere, cthey could have hot drinks
Hidden little theater with talented actors. Fun time with lots of laughs. Friendly staff.
Good show. Performers did a fine job on the production. Comfortable, small house theater. They do good work here. Worth a visit.
Great venue for local theater. Has varied subject matter throughout each season.
Generic Theatre is a really cool experience. They have both kids theatre and adult performances such as plays and musicals. What's even better is they hold acting camps for kids and teens. My kids absolutely love it there.
Had a great time! Small theater but definitely a hidden gem. Great performance. We will be returning!
Great place to take family and friend. The plays are more adult. You have to call to see when they have plays for the children. I love this place.
Generic theater is generic. I'm not sure why this didn't surprise.
Pretty biased because this was my first Hampton roads theatre experience, but very loving family.
Such fun and affordable shows. Very interactive and I ve never had a bad experience. I ve seen Silence! The musical, the sold out Heathers the musical, where they gave us balcony seat with no extra charge, and letters to a young girl which was so beautiful and powerful it resonates with me almost 8(?) years later. Such a fantastic venue and very fun
We were visiting and wanted to see a locally-produced show. The show was excellent for "theatrie" people, which we are. While the theater is not fancy, it was a well put together production.
Went to see Hand to God. It certainly wasn't a children's play. There was certainly a very profound message presented. The theater temperature was exceedingly warm for most, but I was quite comfortable [I get cold easily]. It is difficult to locate... you have to go UNDER the Chrysler Hall parking garage.
Honestly my favorite theatre in the area. Their plays are consistent 8,9 & 10s. Always a pleasure to go.
Good place but I am not sure if you can get blitzed in here safely or not
One of the few theatres that performs the plays and musicals that no one would think of doing. I has the privilege of participating in silence! The musical, the mother f**KER with the hat, and their upcoming show the whale. It's underground of the Chrysler Hall, but once you find it, you'll enjoy the show!
My daughter took summer drama camp here. Ms. Judy runs a very organized camp. My daughter had a fun 2 weeks.
The most avant-garde theater in the Hampton Roads region. There always produtions that leave you thinking and more enlightened.
this place is a hidden gem in Norfolk. the actors are awesome and the snacks are reasonably priced. great date night
