All staff were friendly and professional. I never felt as if I was being rushed.

I've been going here for several years now, ever since Dr. Dandalides saved my life by convincing my paranoid former-self, a desperately-ill and equally-petrified woman who was loath to trust anyone in a white coat, to let him try treat my severe disease. I've never met a better doctor before or since and I love the GATGI staff - the nurses are so nice, especially the lady who does my blood draws every few months: she's absolutely lovely. These are the sort of people that make having a chronic illness bearable. I've had billing issues handled quickly and easily whenever I call. The doctor always gets back to me on health questions, especially those I submit through the portal, which not every doctor does. I even have had run of the mill IT problems with the patient portal, phone system, etc, handled effectively when I've brought it up to the staff.

It's such a busy place and I've been seen everywhere from on-time/early to an hour behind schedule, but it's well worth the wait if there is one, because Dr. D takes his time to really understand you and thoroughly handle your problems, even things that aren't directly specialty-related. He's performed my procedures flawlessly and always takes the time to listen and answer my questions afterwards, patiently explaining things I don't understand well despite his tight schedule. I would trust my health in his hands any time, and his PA, Ms. Carter, whom I've seen a couple of times, is quite a decent practitioner as well.

Dr. Domanski was very patient and showed concern. He listened to my problems. I would recommend him to my family and friends .

Care to explain how an esophagus can get punctured in a procedure and the doctor if you can even call them one doesn t remedy or work towards a solution ? Maybe Sullivan magically has answers ?

Never get call backs after tests or to set up testing and then when you call they have a hard time pulling reports or finding your order. Then you have to wait again for nurse to see and pass on to Dr. for review. I am not impressed by the administrative staff. I am not sure if I will continue after this test result.

Doctor Sullivan and the staff at Chesapeake General were all very professional, through and addressed all my concerns. My procedure went very well and quickly. I do wish I did not have to wait so long in the waiting room though.

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!! This was the first time Ive seen Dr Sullivan and je is definitely the best Gastro Dr I've been to!!

I was treated very well by all staff members at Gastroenterology Associates of Tidewater and Dr Steven Dandalides was very thorough in covering any concerns that I had with my situation.

Another fantastic treatment with Dr. Mendu and the staff there.
Professional, caring, prompt. My family and I have multiple procedures and clinical visits over the years, and continue to be grateful and thankful for superb care.

I'm not too sure what Jenny is going on about, I've had many colonoscopies here, and it is a very straightforward process. To my knowledge, I do not recall ever needing anyone to "verbally" tell me anything about the process. Just read the paper you are given?

Dr. Douglas Howerton is excellent. I had an emergency in another city and he took the time on a weekend to call and speak with the doctors to make sure I was receiving appropriate treatment. You can't ask for a more dedicated doctor.

Worst experience ever! My dad had an appt with Dr. Rivera. VERY RUDE! He walked in the room and first thing he said "was why are you here, everything looks fine on your scans"!!! Really????? If everything looked fine they would NOT have been there. But since the PCP told them to make an appt to be seen, this is who the were put with per TRICARE!!..... If they had had a choice they def would not have gone there. He's the dr! You work for your patients & if you don't want to be there, GET A NEW JOB!!! The dr they were supposed to see, Dr. Gamsey couldn't get them in til May. They had heard good things about him and requested him, but since my dad had been in the ER several times, he got scheduled with another physician. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. RIVERA!!!!!!

I saw Dr. Sullivan for the first and found that he was concerned about my problem and I fly that I was not rushed thru my appointment. He let me describe my problems and asked questions along the way. I have already recommended him to a friend.

Everyone was extremely warm and polite. Health conscious too. Kept masks on and wiped down everything that patients used.

Dr Makdisi and his staff were wonderful, they explained the procedure and made you feel at ease. They really take good care of you from check in to checkout.

I was very pleased with the service and interaction of the staff, very friendly, warm and caring. They are very professional and efficient as well as making you feel comfortable in a procedure that makes many uncomfortable. I will use them again without hesitation in the future as an appointment may arise!

Happy with experience doctor was professional and gave information about the procedure and the findings, waiting room was overcrowded but with could restrictions understandably

Dr. Mendu and her staff were awesome. This was my second visit. Just like an automated carwash. In and out no wait time.

Excellent Office and medical service even with the terrible outbreak of COVID 19. Services were provided in a prompt professional atmosphere as usual. I have the highest regards for Dr. Felix Tiongca and his support staff over the years. Due to their diligence, I am alive today.

Dr Makdesi has been my Dr for over 20 years and I have found him to be extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. He has brought me through some very hard times and I trust him totally with my care and that of my husband. I cannot convey how highly we think of Dr Makdesi!

Y'all have to get better with the phones. The online portal sometimes has errors taking payment and I've been trying to call in for days to make payment. Take my money please

Staff is very professional and friendly. All questions answered when asked. Staff introduced themselves by first name and what they were there to do. They put patient at ease.

I don t usually leave reviews but I am disappointed with my visit. I waited a good amount of time to be seen by a doctor who was in and out in less than 10 mins, mind you this was also my first visit here. There was no examine given not even as much as checking my heart beat or breathing or anything. The charts I had to fill out with my symptoms and medical history weren t even looked at. I was referred here just to be told what I already knew. Paid a pretty high copayment just to be given OTC medicines I could have simply went out and bought myself without even coming to the office.

I luv luv Dr.Shoba Mendu so much. I've been with her a couple of years now,and she is really intelligent, respectful at all times that I see her. I'm always pleased with her service.

I am truly grateful for the experience that I had on May 18, 2021 in the Chesapeake office. From the time I was taken to the back to get prepped the young man who worked with me the music the anesthesia doctor everything was just awesome. God bless the entire staff.

Dr. Domanski is a very knowledgeable and most pleasant doctor around. He takes time to explain what s going on and all options. Very informative and makes you feel like he really cares about your health.

Dr Domanski takes his time and really gets to know his patients AND their problems. Great bedside manner and you can tell he really cares about his patients.

My first time getting this test other then the prep solution causing me to barf. It was quick and over and I have no memory of the testing being done. The staff was very nice.

The procedure was handled beautifully from check in to check out; there was literally no wait time. The medical personnel were friendly and personable and helped me relax before the procedure. They thoroughly explained what was happening right up until I was put to sleep and then were attentive when I woke up. Dr Gamsey made sure he was there to talk to me both before and after the procedure. A special thank you to the anesthesiologist, Patrick, who was professional but also managed to make me chuckle several times as we talked. All the staff were great, but Patrick gets extra stars for making me feel so relaxed as he got me ready for the anesthesia.

My experience with Gastro Association was positive. Friend, courteous service and on time.

Dr.Mendu was nice when I went to my initial appointment. I had to wait about a month and a half to get that appointment.
I was scheduled for a colonoscapy and an endoscopy for the first week of December but recivef a call saying that they needed to reschedule. So it got moved up to a week from when I recived the call. That ment I had a day or two before needing to start the prep so I went to the store so that I could be sure I had the right foods and drinks. And then a day or two later I get another call and they have to reschedule because the doctor took the week of my procedure off. Now they can't do it until December 22 in the morning!?
This has turned into a pretty stressful ordel for me. The food I bought for the low residue diet won't last until the new date so that was money wasted. I'm starting to wonder if it would be better to just request that a different doctor to do the procedures??

The receptionists are realy nice and friendly and the one who had to keep calling to reschedule realy did seem sorry that it kept happening.

I ended up calling and asking if I could switch to a diffrent doctor to get it done sooner. It took calling 4 times to get ahold of someone only to be told that they (schedule department) could not answer me. I was told a note would be left for the secretary who would get back to me with an answer. Its been a week and I've heard nothing. I dont think a note was left after all. I guess there's nothing I can do but just wait a long time again and hope that they dont push it back again. Not happy

Got caller back yesterday late in the evening. They can fir me in this wensday. But they haven't emailed me the updated prep schedule and once again no one's answering the phone. I got ahold of the scheduling department and they "transfered" me to someone in the nursing department but they sent me to voice-mail.
I'm doing the liquid diet now but I have no idea when to take the medicne. Its all frustrating and I feel like im going to come in tomarrow and are going to try to charge me some fee for not being ready. >:(

I had my colonoscopy on Sept 2nd with Dr. Tiongco. Everyone was very nice they took good care of me. Dr Tiongo came and saw me before and after the procedure and put me at ease. I would definitely recommend Dr. Tiongco to my family and friends.

Dr Domanski was very thorough and had prior to my visit researched and reviewed my records. He explained and answered and was very attentive to my questions and concerns with very understandable explanations. He also provided several options for future treatments. the entire experience with the staff as well as the doctor and facility was highly excellent

Dr Gamsey and his staff are always very professional and competent. I am very happy with this group.

Dr. Domanski was kind, very knowledgeable, helpful, and fast! He also advised me in other areas of my health.

Dr Makdisi is very personal with you and gives quality care as well as great feedback. Services are prompt and well organized.

I have been going to Dr Tiongco for about 20 years
And I wouldn t go to anyone else .
Dr Tiongco has always explained everything in terms that I can understand and gives me all the time I need at an appointment.

Today was my first visit to this office. Dr. Tiongco is very professional and easy to talk to. His staff, Debbie and Tara, are an asset to his office.

Everyone was so nice. It was a clean, efficient. and caring office. Everyone took care of me and made me very comfirtzble. Dr Mendu did a good job and has a great bedside manner. Great experience!

Dr. Sullivan and his team are always professional, but I appreciate the thoughtfulness and care that is also displayed. Everyone explained each step that would happen thoroughly, and really cared about how I was getting through the process from start to finish. I love Dr. Sullivan. Such a great Doctor and caring person.

Really poor overall experience. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, Dr. Gamsey was insensitive and did not give any additional information than I would get online regarding my symptoms. Unfortunately, if you have previous sexual trauma, he is insensitive and you may feel violated. No preparation or explanation of the process before proceeding with a rectal exam. Thankfully, the nurse or PA (not sure) seemed to be aware of the jarring experience and was very comforting following the exam. However, Dr. Gamsey needs additional training for bedside manner and being considerate of patients, particularly those with sexual assault hx.

Review part 2: I do need to add before prepping for a colonoscopy, I noticed Diane neglected to order one of the needed prescriptions I needed Reglan. I contacted her and she blamed the pharmacy. So I had to go without the Reglan while prepping for my first colonoscopy. After the procedure yesterday, one of the nurses stated he was calling in a prescription for me. I went home and waited as I was having discomfort and needed the prescription. I went to the pharmacy today and the prescription was never called in by the nurse. I reached out to the office and spoke with Diane. She apologized and said she was going to call it in. So I had to return to work today still feeling discomfort. I wasted my lunch break because the nurse didn t call in my prescription. I m so disappointed.

The staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Makdisi and his team answered all of my questions and made feel very comfortable. The appointment was seamless!

Even though it s something no one wants to do it was a must for good health and Gastroenterology and their staff made it easy and got me through it. It was painless and the best nap I have had in years. Dr Gamsey was great and had a great bedside manner. The staff at Chesapeake General was great and made this uncomfortable procedure very pleasant. The only hard part is the preparation before the procedure but that s what it is and nothing can help that.

Dr. Rivera, Debbie and the whole staff were friendly and professional. Dr. took time to allay my fears about upcoming colonoscopy, and I m truly grateful.

Their web site makes NO mention that, if a patient meets the requirements, it's NOT necessary to have an in-person office consult before getting a colonoscopy. The appointment receptionist doesn't mention that possibility either (even when asked). Once you arrive (& it's too late), the front desk displays the brochure about the "Open Access Screening" and the prerequisites for patients to avoid being billed for a needless office consult.

Worst customer service EVER. Their hours don t match what they have listed and you won t be able to reach them before 9 am despite it saying that they open at 8 - you ll just get an answering machine. They want you to check your labs online but don t ever post them. Today I called several times with a rather large issue in the morning and was told not to panic the doctor would call me back - several hours later and no word so I called at 4:25 because they *say* they close at 5 and was on hold for 15 minutes only to get disconnected. I tried to call back and the answering service was all that was available despite it being only 4:45. The staff and doctors are friendly but they need to figure out their hours because ota frustrating trying to work around their schedules when you don t know what they are!

Dr Dandalides is a great doctor. He really listens to you and comes up with the proper treatment for your condition. I have seen him for many years and I have always been more than satisfied with the outcome. I would recommend him to anyone that needs his help.

I was very pleased with my experience at Gastroenterology. I recently had a third procedure performed there by Dr. Mendu. Both she and her associates were friendly, putting me at ease and were both efficient and expert in their performance of the duties. I highly recommend this practice.

Upon my initial visit, the office was very clean and professional. Everyone adhered to social distancing practices, so I felt comfortable being in the office. Dr. Rivera was very patient and understanding. He has a great bedside manner. So thankful that he was recommended to me.

Will never return. Dr. Alan Ramsey was condescending, dismissive, and refused to listen to the things I was trying to convey about my medical history and concerns. As well as leaving me to wait for an additional hour per my scheduled appointment time, just to disrespect and dismiss me. As a black woman I feel very disrespected and I advise you to find ANOTHER DOCTOR. 0/10 would never recommend.

Dr Sullivan is really good - very patient and affable. Did my scope and it was a very pleasant experience start to finish. Staff was great too. Highly recommend him.

In the past maybe 8 to 10 years I've had a few problems that no doctor could figure out. I have been to several and nobody could figure it out. I went to doctor Makdisi to see if he could help me. I kept complaining about my gallbladder and everybody said it was not that well doctor mcdees he took action did a test and bingo he said it was my gallbladder after it was taken out I didn't have a problem at all never. Then I had some problems with my stomach and intestines and I went to several doctors and everybody kept telling me one thing one thing. I'm with the doctor McGee C ran a few tests next thing I know he's figured it out had surgery and I'm like brand new. Stay away from the 5-minute doctors go see this man he spends time with you and I would recommend him to anybody

Dr. Rene Rivera and his staff provided great service on both of my visits to his office, he listened to my concerns and gave adequate feedback. While finding good service is rare these days, it's good to know that there are still businesses that truly care about the standards of services they provide to their patients.

The appointment was seamless, the technicians and nurses were friendly, and Dr. Tiongco was thorough and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this doctor and practice!
