Not a big collection. David is the only breathtaki...
Not a big collection. David is the only breathtaking piece.
Not a big collection. David is the only breathtaking piece.
Fantastic place because here there is a grandiose work which is Michelangelo's David the original one because in Florence not everyone knows that there are 2 copies, one in front of the Palazzo Vecchio and the other in Piazza Michelangelo from which it is possible to see Florence from above
It is a deception the access queue that you are forced to do for 3 hours while there are resales coupled with the academy selling tickets at double the price for direct access
Art comes out of their ears! What luck, how much culture and heritage!
The David proudly advocates in the center of the gallery, if I have a small complaint that the gallery is quite small, what a pity for art lovers
In addition to the star, which is obviously the absolutely incredible statue of David, there are many other interesting works. There is a room with busts and statues both from the Roman era and classical and Renaissance in which you could spend hours, too bad it can only be admired from the threshold. Access is very well organized even if you go alone and without a reservation, with separate queues for groups and reservations, but without having to queue for the ticket first and to enter later, which for me is the summum of inefficiency!
Had my mother in law with us (in a wheelchair) everyone was every helpful and all the art was beautiful.
Museum not to be missed to visit. David by michelangelo
Huge collections for world class paintings, simply outstanding.
Great place to see historic art. Highly recommend purchasing a skip the line pass as lines can be very long and move slowly.
David has to be seen in person to truly appreciate the magnificence.
Stunning. It has really old instruments, amazing paintings and the statue of David by Michelangelo was a lot bigger than I expected.
Beautiful pieces, however the work of the curators can improve a lot .... There are lighting problems and the distances between the works to better appreciate them ... Obviously the David is the center of the lack, however there are much more treasures awesome.
Just not to forget to buy tickets before. A huge croud at 8:15 already.
Wonderful piece of art and history! Highly recommended to see in person David's Michelangelo.
DAVID is beyond words, you can see the amazement in everyone's faces
This museum is always a must when visiting Florence
We got here early to buy a ticket when we opened. It does get very busy. For us the ticket alone was worth buying to see the statue of David it's amazing. The plaster work is also outstanding but beyond this we weren't interested in the Italian religious art.
The David leaves you breathless beautiful also everything else
Many sides exhibitions with precious and unique objects. A lot of religious painting with famous creator like Boticceli. This really was beautiful.
And here come the main hall... It was incredible. The David is dominating the room and all its tourists. There are places to seat and watch him.
Hands are gorgeous.
There is also a serie of non-finished work by the same author.
At the end, a room is full of sculptures.
Go there, you won't regret it I swear.
I'm so happy I saw it :)
The museum is well organised.
There are a lot of explanation in several languages, so it is very easy to understand.
The Davis is a must see. It's not as big as expected but well worth the visit.
Amazing museum
Try enter between 12-14 to skip the tour groups and get a 30 mins wait. Rather than 2 plus hour wait
The gallery is very small, few sculptures and paintings ... But it is worth visiting to see the sculpture of David sculpted by Michelangelo, it is huge, majestic. Around the sculpture there is a space to sit and admire such a beautiful work.
If you have never seen David then you should go simply for this
Seeing David in person is an experience! Tons of sculptures from that period & a lot of Christian art. A lot to see & take in. Pay for expedited entry. The lines are long!
Breathtaking experience to see some of the finest works you only read about. Pro tip: make sure you book your tour in advance, the lines are crazy long (unless you like waiting forever) and the museum is not that large. This is a must see if for all who come to town. I was extremely impressed.
When in Florence, be sure to visit this museum where the origanal "David" is plus more early works of Michelangelo.
Long wait during the summer if just doing the general admission. The gallery is small but has amazing works.
Here is the famous David statue by Michelangelo. The statue is much larger than you think. These details are just awesome.
You can also visit other statues and follow the work steps.
Very interesting and highly recommended.
Tip !: as an EU citizen under 25 you can get in for 2 as soon as you show your ID card / passport.
Home to Michael Angelo's David, is well worth a visit to see the iconic statue.
Truly magnificent. Worth getting a guided tour to learn about the history that will make you really appreciate the art much more.
Our group had a once in a lifetime private tour! No crowds and no rush!
The original David is very humbling in person. Well worth experience at the Academy! The beauty is not captured well enough with pictures, one has to visit to understand the awesome feeling it provides in person.
It's a great collection of the most beautiful art. However, this system of either standing in hours long queues or buying your way in by paying upto three or four times the normal admission price is nothing short of a racket- with both the authorities and tour operators ripping you off. It appears to be rampant throughout Italy and I for one am not impressed! These collections are public property and should be easily and cheaply accessible to all, and not just the well heeled ones.
It is impossible not to be surprised by the majestic art displayed in this gallery. For me a very desired achievement and for art lovers #supercomendo.
Other comments must mention the queues, which are immense, but one cannot expect to be different from one of the most visited places in the world.
The amount paid is valid for attraction
Amazing collection of art and artifacts...and of course you have David!
You must visit to see the David. That's their most important masterpiece.
Go early in the morning to beat the crowds and have a peaceful experience.
Holds the Statue of David by Michelangelo, and a host of other art pieces which captures the richness of the Renaissance art. The four statues titled 'the prison' is a rare collection that helps one understand the mind if Michelangelo as he creates his work. A good guide can bring the best within the Academy. Enjoyed the one hour spent inside. A must visit in Florence!
The gallery is impressive, you can enter with a reservation or without it, the truth is that the best is the David sculpture, but if you know art and are lovers of this subject, you will find interesting works.
Really exceptional experience. Hint: pay the tour guide and skip the long lines. Worth the story telling to go with the art gazing appreciation. Go to washrooms first. They are at exit and you can't get back in. It's hot. Dress accordingly. David is worth it. Just get that off your bucket list. Just raw "wow". And the grande finale was musical instruments museum.
Sooo expensive. The impressive David but 12 euros to see it and the other Florentine sacred art I think it is a real robbery.
Beware a bald employee with a mustache an unpresentable and insult to girls, they should fire him
Very beautiful, full of art and history. Worth a visit, but keep your feet up!
Seeing the David alone is worth the wait to get in.
I mean, just seeing if you can get an idea of the location. I recommend it for art lovers.
Many plaster and marble statues plus paintings but the highlight is the original David.
Nice place. Could air-condition a bit better.
Read up on Michaelangelo's prisoners while waiting in line.
Beautiful art. Goes without saying. The crowds really do dampen the experience.
Amazing museum that you can see all of in under an hour!
Compared to other museums my wife and I visited in Italy the Galleria dell'Academia was not quite impressive. The museum is tiny, one can walk through all the exhibits in 30 minutes. There is not much there to see except the the statue of David and few other pieces.
Considering the 1:30 hours we stayed in a queue in the afternoon to enter it, in hindsight, it was not worth to visit. Go there in the evening 30-50 minutes before closing and get in trouble free.
For those who love art this is the right place.
You can't see Florence without visiting the Accademia Gallery.
I recommend you book your ticket online with a skip the line option.
If u like art this is ur place, paintings apon paintings. Probably didnt have an eye for it, mostly catholic religous themed paintings for the period, seen one seen them all
David is good. The rest of the holy ... Must book online.
I returned to Florence after 33 years but I made the mistake of going back after one of my many trips to Europe. David deserves, however the 12 ticket for a small gallery is shameful. WELCOME TO ITALY. The audio guide that in many museums and galleries is included in the ticket, here costs another 6, I asked for a small brochure and I was answered in an impolite way that they don't have any. To think that in some European sites they provide you with tablets.
The Accademia Gallery is a museum, fourth in Italy for the number of visitors after the Uffizi, exhibiting the largest number of Michelangelo's sculptures in the world (as many as seven), including the famous David.
Inside the Gallery there are also other sections, including the largest and most important collection in the world of pictorial works with a gold background, and the Museum of musical instruments, where many artifacts belonging to the historical collection of the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory are exhibited.
The "live" vision of David is indescribable in words !! The visit is highly recommended!
For the art lovers, this is a heaven. Michelangelo's David stands gloriously here. So do the other works of art. A must visit if you want to travel back in time!
David, gipsoteca, many works of art ... a national treasure!
it's worth a visit; it's not large but has enough; this is how galleries should be
Michelangelo's Davide is the first work. Magnificent in its power. The art gallery is also valuable even if it is poorly lit.
Nice folks. Great pizza and sandwiches. Close to the David statue.
Full ticket paid, more than half of the exhibition closed. Result? We visited 5 rooms in total, including 2 from the outside. Little explanatory tags ... The only reason to visit it is to see the David, but the flame is not worth the candle anyway. Bad experience
Beautiful place especially the David of Miguel Angel
Houses Michaelangelo's David which in itself makes the visit worth it. The medici era musical instruments and the first attempts at the piano were a great addition.
The price is 8 but the visit is halved because the whole first floor is closed for works, a half rip off. If it weren't for Michelangelo's David, the museum would be deserted.
The building is beautiful with really high ceilings, it's a pity that the lighting is bad: on entering you can hardly see the works due to the poor lighting while in the adjacent rooms the problem is the opposite and many paintings are not seen well because it reflects the light against .
Almost essential audio guide at the good price of 4.
