Overall the museum is ok, but seeing the Statue of David is well-worth it. We went to four different art museums between Paris and Florence and the statue of David was the most amazing piece of art we saw.

Although the museum has a gallery with relevant works by Giotto, it is undeniable that Michelangelo's David is the main attraction, a magnet that captivates you from head to toe. You cannot visit Florence and not see the David, in my opinion the most important and beautiful sculpture in the world.

Adam and should start by stating we do not get involved in art but we do see the major attractions. For us, these tickets were 12 Euro general admission each plus 4 Euro each for skip the line reserved time slot. 16 Euros is a fair amount to pay when you only really intend on seeing one attraction. There are other art works and sculptures within the gallery so it was nice to walk around and see the different religious figures and the storylines being told. It was also interesting to note the original David is within this gallery but two other versions (bronze and plaster) are elsewhere in Florence. The bronze statue is in Piazza Michelangelo and the plaster is in Piazza Della Signoria. For us we have it 4 stars as we thought the experience was Overpriced.

Nowhere near the size of the Uffizi but I enjoyed it a bit more. (They clearly need to clear out some of those Botticellis and things in the Uffizi to make more space...) Better labelling at the Academy. Good.

As our guide Gulia said this is her husband she visits him everyday. He is always here waiting for her. His been there for just near 500 years. What an experience to be part of the 8000 people who visit him daily.

Best tip I can give to see this one is to reserve tickets in advance. The line can easily take 40 minutes to an hour in the sun, but if you have a reservation the line is shorter. Totally worth the visit! It's a small place, but wonderful.

Known mainly as the home of Michelangelo's sculpture David. But also has a wealth of beautiful paintings and sculptures. There is also a section that presents the process of making a sculpture. This is a must see museum!

This gallery is a must see for me. Pro tip is go when they just open in the morning (less people) and also call in advance to reserve a time, so your wait time is shorter. The gallery has audio guide for a fee, so booking separate tour is not necessary.

Who could possibly give anything other than five stars here. David is amazing in person. Fair warning, if you show up without a reservation, the line is very long and you will wait for hours. But it s worth the wait.

Florentine art at its best, it is better to visit it very early to avoid long lines, the star of the place is the sculpture of David by Michelangelo, impossible to visit Florence and not go to the Academy

Of course you re there for the David but the temporary exhibits are amazing! The current one on medieval textiles is very interesting - I learned a lot. If you re only in Florence for the day go in the afternoon and either pay the extra 10 eur for a last minute reservation ticket or have the foresight to book.

A thousand emotions go through you being there, surrounded by so many masterpieces and, standing out among all of them, the David, the emotion embodied in marble. The exhibition allows you to surround the statue, observe its imposing stature, notice all its details and angles, surrender to so much mastery

The Statute of David is quite impressive, it's huge and has a great backstory to it. Michelangelo, his life and times, his passion and desire for perfection, make up for some really good stories. I would recommend a good guide though, unless you have done enough previous research on your own. Barring David, other statues are just more of the same.

Renaissance art museum full of works by Florentine masters .. exhibition of numerous sculptures by Michelangelo including the David which is located in the center of the main room under the dome, where the sun's rays illuminate the statue enhance all its majesty.
The museum is fairly well structured and it is possible to take photographs if one wishes.
A word of advice, the ticket costs 12.5 euros but if you add 4 euros there is the possibility to skip the line .. this ticket can be done in the cashier located in front of the Gallery slightly a little further ..
I recommend this solution because the queue can sometimes reach and exceed even an hour of waiting.

Michaelangelo's David is a masterpiece. Everything else is ok. But be prepared to stand in line for a couple of hours. Recommend you wake up early to get in line or buy the skip the line tickets.

David is a masterpiece and so are Michelangelo's Prisons, but practically the museum is finished here, none of the other exhibits particularly stand out. The museum itself is very badly organized, there is no storage for bags or even leaflets.

Unfinished sculptures and David! Wonderful, reflective, moving. Tickets can be booked in advance, but beware of numerous offers from travel agencies, the prices of which far exceed those of the museum's ticket office. A normal ticket costs 12 , a booking made by phone on the museum's hotline costs 4 . It's worth it if you don't want to stand in a long queue. But it is also possible to enter without a reservation. We waited 2 hours without a reservation.

Your in Florence, there s so much art to see, but the must do s include seeing Michelangelo s David. You ll need to get tickets online before, or stand in line with the hordes of people. It s a smaller museum, but worth it! Be sure to check out the room of historical musical instruments, as it can be easy to miss.

Absolutely to visit, buy tickets online if you have the opportunity and when you find the queue follow it and don't give it up even if you have tickets for the next hour.
I do not recommend you go by car the parking lots are expensive.

It is spectacular to see the David of Miguel Angel. The rest of the museum is also very interesting. There is a lot of queue to enter, it is recommended to take the tickets online with time reservation. If not, in high season, sometimes you can not even enter

The works of art, beautiful. The entrance, a chaos. A single entrance, small for the amount of people that go. 2 hours of queue, in the rain. It is necessary? Make more entries, put more revision machines.

Museum with excellent cultural and artistic exhibition, if you go to Florence you cannot miss it; do not carry large backpacks because they will prevent you from entering; I recommend that you don't go directly to Michelangelo's David; Enter the room immediately to the right so that you can appreciate works by renowned artists also in painting. I also recommend that you make your reservation online in time so you will avoid long lines at the time of entering.
