The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum is a pinacotecade old and modern masters located in Madrid (Spain). Its existence is due to the lease agreement (1988) and the subsequent acquisition, by the Spanish Government More
A must in Madrid It is well organized. The main thing can be seen in a malana
To me the most complete and essy museum in the city
You need days to do your curiosity justice in this this gallery
The museum is wonderful but the truth is that the Balenciaga exhibition is not well lit, the textures of the suits are not well appreciated and also, the dress sets with coat should be open because it is impossible to see the dresses
Madame Carmen has good taste. And a lot of money.
I had hours of fun thinking up names of major internationally acclaimed artists and then checking to see if any of the artist was present. Madame Carmen has not missed much ...
Very beautiful on the outside I could not see it inside
One of most important European art collections: Spain owes Carmen T.-B. the highest recognition!
Very good. Excellent pieces by famous authors on display.
Excellent museum, with works by many famous artists as well as others less well known but also with a collection of interesting works and great mastery.
A very cozy, relaxing, interesting and well organized gallery. You'll find paintings from Italian Renaissance to XX Century with some statues too (a bronze by Giacometti). All great pieces are commented by an outstanding audio guide. The cafeteria and the gift shop are a nice experience too. Not to miss at all, even if it's very close to Prado.
Exceptional, very well thought out for enjoyment, well organized and with multiple seats to regain strength and calmly enjoy the paintings
We went during the exhibition of Monet and Boudin. Impressive is to fall short. We also ate there but the food left to be desired.
Super sorted. You can find your way from top to bottom in each epoch. Super nice exhibition. Impressed me more than the Prado.
Not only do they have a magnificent permanent collection, but the temporary exhibitions are ALWAYS very interesting and assembled with exquisite taste.
Amazing. Of the best, the best. Amazing what's in there !!
The staff that monitors the rooms does not stop talking at an annoying volume, I learn about the conversation, and this happens on every corner.
Incredible collection on European impressionism and expressionism. If this is what you looking for, you can come directly here instead of going to Reina Sofia or even the Prado. Edward hooper, berthe, pissarro, Renoir, Monet, Matisse, Manet, van gogh, kandinsky, Rothko and others that we can easily love. If you are more a Orsay or Marmottan type of person instead of the Louvre, this one is for you.
I hope that Tita does not think of taking the collection to another place. For those who visit Madrid, it is mandatory stop to approach the temporary exhibitions of thyssen!
The temporary exposure of Balthus is divine. I'm wanting more!
It is an interesting private collection, with many paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, but extending to the 20th century with pop art. Museum is not huge like the Prado, about an hour and a half visit.
Beautifully laid out. Extraordinary collection.
Too much reflection on pieces covered in glass but such a sumptuous feast of styles!
Thank you!
I value it so high because I consider it an extraordinary museum.
The Thyssen Museum is the perfect complement to the Prado Museum: it offers paintings of the artistic styles that are missing in the Prado Museum or that are poorly represented because their funds are in stores, such as Dutch paintings. My favorite plant is the first one: there is the wonderful painting of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. In addition, there are two rooms of North American painting. My favorite Thyssen work is the spectacular portrait of Lady Millicent, by the great John Singer Sargent.
This patron has built up a major collection.
Going to Madrid without seeing it is unthinkable!
The great variety and quality of the works there, makes you able to take a tour of the whole history of painting since the sixteenth century
An impressive collection that ranges from Italian primitives to the latest modern art.
I think the exhibition of Balenciaga suits is very good and I enjoyed it very much very interesting
Vast airy art gallery. Very enjoyable. Free on Monday pm.
Art place of worship in Madrid. Exhibitions by the world's best authors of all time. Special focus on contemporary art. UNMISSABLE.
A must in Madrid with a remarkable collection of all ages and styles
Like the museum itself and the paintings that were exhibited
Great museum, if you have the chance, go see it. You can start on the upper flow with Italian classical painters and work down to the ground floor and the 21st century
The only museum of the top 3 art museums in Madrid to photograph. Many paintings by famous masters.
It is great to see the sculptures of rodin and the tapestry of the royal tapestry factory
Beautiful museum, very well maintained, the staff is friendly and helps you as necessary. Impeccable. Highly recommended.
Excellent permanent exposure. Excellent facilities and signage. The temporary exhibition on Monet is also very didactic, but the expensive bar-restaurant for what is actually almost a self-service.
The free permanent exhibition and the free cloakroom service, all the staff that attended us at the entrance very friendly and attentive.
Amazing art collection! Beautiful masterpieces by Picasso, Kandinsky, Delacroix, Degas, Monet and so on!
Magnificent museum, in which we visit the inimitable REMBRANDT, with its beautiful and magnificent portraits. Very interesting.
Take advantage of these strange days to enjoy this marvel of permanent collection, without queues and without capacity problems.
Very pretty. Free with the young card of the community of Madrid.
A fantastic museum. Great collection. I also highlight the product store and the large amount of merchandising.
Difficult to describe. If you are about arts, take 2 days.
Maginificent collection with excellent pieces and artists. Staff helpful and polite. On Mondays, the mastercard offers free entry, I tried on this day and there were no problems. They allow taking pictures as long as without flash. I was able to see all the works, but I did not have time to go to the cafeteria.
The objective of the visit was the exhibition Sorolla and fashion, totally recommended for anyone with artistic sensibility
Great museum with works by various artists and good temporary exhibitions. Highly recommended if you like art in general
Visiting a museum is always a marvel, but in this case, it is added that I have visited an exhibition on a monograph of Monet and his teacher Boudin. I liked the teacher's paintings more than the students' ones, since there are less of them and they are not the most famous ones. De Boudin knew little but I loved it. I recommend it, but hurry that there is little time left.
Well worth a visit. Honestly, unless you really love Goya, prioritize this over the Prado. It's smaller and more doable with more interesting and accessible art - with typically fewer visitors.
Rembrandt Exhibition: an excellent setting and situation putting the viewer in the social and artistic reality of the time. Works by the author and different authors coetanios are shown. Highly recommended temporary exhibitions.
Another world to discover after the Prado. Very beautifull.
not to be missed! look at the discount on advertising cards found in hotels!
Contains the most staggeringly good private art collection you could possibly imagine. Personally, if I only had time for one museum in Madrid I'd skip the Prado and its hordes of visitors and come here.
Amazing museum with a great variety of works and artists. From the fourteenth century to contemporary art. If you want to see it well, everyone and without hurry will need a minimum of 3 hours. It is very worth it. In my opinion the best museum in Madrid after the Prado Museum.
A perfect visit! Few people, calm, magnificent works in my eyes, a space where to relax accompanied by the heat and the songs of sparrows. Thank you
Incredible collections, you cannot miss this privilege
Monday was free and we saw the Impressionists and Expressionists. Spectacular.
It's best. I can't believe it's a personal collection. It was better than Prado
