Adult 13 euros, Korean audio guide 5 euros
The Thyssen Museum of Art can take photos of the interior.
However, the camera flash should be turned off.
It is composed by period, and it is good because I can feel Western art history by the age. It is composed of three floors, first of all it is good to come down from the 2nd floor (3rd floor of Korea) while watching.
You can see not only Renaissance painters Titiano, Tintoretto but also famous artists such as El Greco, Caravaggio, Goya, Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali, Juan Miro and Roy Lichtenstein. It takes about 3 hours to slow down.
The backpack should be picked up at the entrance.

Absolutely to visit. I believe that together with the Prado it represents a must in Madrid. The collection of works of art ranges from the late Middle Ages to the present day. We entered on Monday for free thanks to the support of a sponsor. The time for the visit, calm but not thorough, takes three hours. Many Italian masterpieces are present: Duccio di Boninsegna, Antonello da Messina, Caravaggio, ... Large and well-arranged spaces.

Great museum! Wishing to avoid long queues, we booked tickets online (with the right of passage without a queue), but as it turned out, in November the museum is almost empty and precaution was unnecessary. Audioguide for temporary exposure was incomparable (exhibited the work of the German artist Max Beckman). The audio guide for the main exposure was much more boring and it could not be taken. In general, we really liked the museum and, being in Madrid next time, we will certainly repeat the visit.

Fantastic, world class gallery and blissfully without the long lineups seen at the Prado. There are many, many notable works here representing a good coverage of most artistic periods. The audio tour, while not essential, is highly recommended. If you are a visitor to Madrid don't miss it.

Although the touristic spotlights are mainly focused on the Prado and Reina Sofia museums, the Thyssen-Bornemisza certainly deserves as much as the two mentioned above. The substantial difference lies in being a private collection (of the steel magnate Thyssen-Bornemisza) acquired by the Spanish government in 1993; this means that in this museum it is possible to admire paintings of different nature and historical period: from works of the XIII to works of the twentieth century.

Note that there is the possibility to visit the museum for free every Monday from 12 to 16.

Very good collection of paintings from different eras and styles. The exhibition about Monet and Boudin we liked very much. Vasarely is a genius ... I do not know when the exhibition closes but it was what most impressed us about the museum.

Private museum of modernist art located on the Paseo del Prado, a few meters from the Cibeles fountain. One of the best modern art exhibitions in the city. It enjoys good traveling exhibitions of modern art. And there is the possibility of acquiring printed copies of works from the museum.

One of the most impressive museums I ve been too in terms of breadth, quality of selection and variety. Audioguide is easy to follow and introduces you to many of the masters throughout the different time periods. Really get to see how art has evolved over the centuries. Came on a paid day so there was a lot of space to browse and sit. Very enjoyable and got so much out of it!

Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza: A Museum of Art and Culture

The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is a museum located in Madrid, Spain. It is one of the most important art museums in the world, with a collection that spans from the 13th century to contemporary art. The museum was founded by Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and his wife Carmen Cervera in 1988.

The museum's collection includes over 1,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. The collection is divided into seven different sections: Early Italian Painting; German Renaissance and Baroque Painting; Dutch Painting; Flemish Painting; English Painting; French Painting; and American Art.

One of the highlights of the museum's collection is its impressive display of Impressionist paintings. The museum has an extensive collection of works by artists such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Vincent van Gogh.
