must-visit. a lot better than the Prado museum, it offers an excellent excursus of art since the origins until the contemporary artists. my personal tip: get the audio-guide (it explains very well the historical contest and an iconic painting) and start from the end (contemporary art) rather than suggested from the indications of the musuem.

An interesting visit, but many people and you can not see the works with tranquility, well I expected more. The traveling exhibition gives massive passes so to see the works you have to get around heads, etc., in very little space.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum should be absolutely visited because it contains a lot of pictures by the most important painters from XV to early XX century.Rooms are really well organized for the positioning of the pictures and the audioguide is clear and deepened.

We loved the exhibition. The correct and pleasant staff, to put one but only that they should inform more of the audio-guide we did not know how to lower the volume because it was high and the device seemed to have camouflaged the keys

Splendido.

Splendido.
A very thick stable collection, ranging from all eras and all artistic currents.
A true full immersion in the world of painting.
The museum often also hosts temporary exhibitions that are always interesting.
It currently hosts the Renaissance Ve
nice with many Veronese, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Lotto ... and the exhibition on Sonia Delaunay and her creations (design, fashion, painting): very interesting.
A museum not to be missed, in my opinion like Reina Sofia.

Magnificent museum that contains a very interesting permanent collection and organizes temporary exhibitions of artists with universal renown. The visits are very well organized since you can buy the anticipated tickets in a full time slot and there are no queues. Ticket prices are around 10 euros.

This museum has a good audio guide which allows visitors an easy tour through the three floors of paintings. It is overwhelming and the great coffee shop can provide a break. Well organised with easy access. Less overwhelming than the Prado.

Extraordinary museum located in the art mile of Madrid. His temporary exhibitions are magnificent. It is worth visiting for his permanent collection. The bad the price and the queues. Better get the ticket in advance. Mondays is free. There are periods in which the mutual offers discounts to its mutualists.

Good museum, especially temporary exhibitions. For example, once there was one about impressionism and expressionism and it was great. It has a very nice garden area next to the exit. Of course, it seemed a bit expensive.

Magnificent. It never disappoints. Great collection and best management team. Very good the storms and their programs. Many quality activities integrated with society and good congresses. More than a visit is an experience for all ages and preferences. I recommend using the guides of the museum's education team.

I love this museum and its temporary exhibitions are great as well. I went to Vasarely and Monet exhibition this month and it was increible! I am astonished by Vasarely's technique.

The permanent exhibition is amazing as well! You can see some of the most recognized artworks in this place.

Amazing museum for an art lover like me and my mother. :-)

A beautiful museum. Lots of different artists work are portrayed here and it is a very large so expect to spend a bit of time here. The museum is a part of the Golden triangle and is closely located to the Prado museum.

one of the three flagship museums of the mile of the Madrid museums. Facing the meadow, it offers a chic and modern offer to present in its rooms an impressive display of European art that ranges from Italian primitives to Impressionism and French avant-garde with very representative works. It is a museum little valued for what it contains.

It is a good museum has works of infinity of authors and each one has works of a fairly representative is a relatively small museum that is visited in a fairly reasonable amount of time nothing to do with other art museums in the area so it is a good complement to them maybe the prices are somewhat high unless you are entitled to some type of reduction or choose those most appropriate days

One of the best museums I have ever been in. In my opinion on par with the van Gogh museum and the likes. The collection is astonishing and the galleries are well organized. While I was there, an exposition was running comparing Monet and Baudet. A great comparison which showed the similarities between the two painters. It was a bummer to find out you could not take photos of the exposition. Fortunately you can take pictures throughout the entirety of the museum.

The museum is fantastic, it has a very extensive collection of artistic works ranging from the old altarpieces and triptychs of the painting to the contemporary work of renowned artists. This wonderful building is located in the area of Paseo del Prado and is very easy to access by train, metro or bus. Without a doubt, a must-see in the city of Madrid.

The original collection is curated in a very didactic way through a chronological criterion. The modern collection is not ready in a very didactic way. Either way, it is a must visit. The price of the entrance is expensive, although it is worth it.

The museum is magnificent. Super temporary exhibition. It fulfilled the capacity but, even so, there were many people and with a careless and respectful attitude that left much to be desired. Perhaps a little less capacity or some rule of "circulation" ...

Created in 1988, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection...

Created in 1988, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation belongs to the public sector and is responsible for the management of the Museum, its conservation, study, public exhibition and dissemination of the collection of works of art that the Spanish State acquired in 1993. From 2004, is also responsible for the long-term loan of the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection and the expansion of the Villahermosa Palace. Since the opening of the Museum to the public in 1992, the number and variety of temporary exhibitions, educational programs and different cultural and commercial activities have increased.

The human team that makes the day to day of the institution possible has been reinforced over the years, but its driving and motivation have been the engines of the museum's operation.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza collection is one of the most important private collections of paintings gathered in the 20th century, and the history of its development is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating collections. Although its origin is private, the collection belongs to all Spaniards today, after its acquisition by the State in 1993, only one after the opening of the Madrid Museum. Since 2004, an outstanding part of the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection has been added to this legacy, with more than two hundred free deposit works that complete the styles and genres present in the permanent collection.

In a fantastic enclave. It not only exposes paintings but also combines it with haute couture exhibitions that were important at a specific time.
I really liked the one from Balenciaga just like the previous ones

I was there on many occasions and whenever I go to Madrid I repeat, it is a museum worth seeing over and over again. On this occasion I went solely and exclusively to see the Sorolla and Fashion exhibition and it is impressive, an impressive collection of works of art (Paintings from World Museums and private collectors) of the painter with his phrases and excellent replicas of costumes of his works (The vast majority of them belong to the Costume Museum). An excellent organization and a frankly well organized exhibition in times and people within the exhibition to be able to enjoy it without crowds. The Thissen is an expert in organizing and exhibiting works.

I go to the museum very often. The exhibits are great.
The downside we always put is the lack of silence.
I think it is one of the few museums that the noise of the public is not controlled. A shame
Today there was more noise inside than on the street, and that was rush hour. They should control it.
Otherwise it is wonderful!
