I'm sad to see this place dwindle down to almost nothing, getting ready to close. But, who can compete with Amazon, these days? I'll miss not being able to walk into a store and buy what I want on the spot. (I guess I'm one of the last of the dinosaurs... )

This place used to be so lively few years back. During my recent visit to Bay area, in was grossly disappointed by the Sunnyvale store experience. In roamed around the entire store looking for someone, but there was not a soul available. Had to walk out without a purchase.
Unhelpful staff. Broad choice but not specializing in any particular area. Most items offer reasonable value but some are ridiculously over priced so beware of those.
Generally, Black Friday is chaotic, but at Fry's, it was Maniacal... People were waiting in the in-store pickup line, luckily inside of the store, for more than an hour only to find out that the item(s), they had previously purchased, could (or should) have been collected either out on the floor (off of the shelf) or in the"cage" located behind the check out line.
It would have been a SMART IDEA if a Fry's employee walked the line (similar to what happens at just about every airport check in line) to inform customers that they should not be in the line, but rather go to the floor or the "cage" to gather their purchase...
I used to love going to Fry's to pick up new computer parts but now it just feels like no one there really cares anymore. The staff is friendly enough but lacking technical knowledge and pushy.
Good selection good prices. Service is great if you get the right sales person, not so good if you get a lazy one. But you can figure out which one you got pretty easy.
Every Fry's has a theme, this one's is music. It has the great range of products for which Fry's is know. Parking is always easy. A surprisingly good deli sits in the middle of the store. Some items in stock are misplaced, making for a frustrating search. The salespeople are aggressive for their commissions. Returns are frustrated by waiting in line and a slow process involving a mandatory manager review. The least expensive models are on floor level shelves. Look there for the best prices. Previously returned items are stocked at a discount with orange-bordered labels.
The go-to place just about any computer or electronic stuff you could want, at good prices. There is so much that you may need staff help to find particular items. If you do, aim to go at off-peak hours, as it may take a while to get the right person's attention when the store is busy.
This wasn't a good visit to Fry's. They had only 2 cashiers working and the line was getting very long. One customer asked if they could add more cashiers and the employee said it wasn't there job to do that.He asked for a manager and was ignored. The customer then called the store to talk to a manager but got the run around. Meanwhile they finally added 1 more cashier.
Fry's has good deals, but if you are looking for customer service that is decent, you may want to consider another store. Ocassionally you can find an excellent provider of customer service, but it is few and far between. They also have commission hungry folks, whether they actually assist you or not.
There are so many ... By the way, in the past, American electronic products were very cheap, but I don't think it's anymore. It's nice to have a lot of things
Worst customer service, worst loss prevention following you around, one employee in laptops even followed me around telling me not to buy anything and he shared with me his meth preferences without provocation. Eek
Most of the shelves were empty or near empty. The aisles had few people in them. And the cages, err checkout lanes were not the bustling place of yesteryear. I'm afraid things don't look good for this store and they are not helping themselves. It looks more like a post apocolyptic store than an electronics store in silicon valley. Also, they didn't have a single cable modem...
Many of the shelves are empty Fry's Sunnyvale used to be the store to go for TVs, computers and gadgets. There were even tour buses bringing in tourist from around the world. So sad to see very little traffic in the stores. There's still some selection of kitchen refrigerators, computers, printers, drones and video games but it's very dark inside and not too many customers.
Out-of-this-world range of products, it's like shopping online but you can pick up and check out all of the stuff. Did not know they used to have a semi hidden porno section before the store really took off!
I wish I got their names but 2 staff members in the networking section were extremely knowledgable and deserve kudos. I was looking for a travel router with a feature to create a private hotspot using hotel WiFi as the WAN. They knew exactly what I was trying to do and pointed me to the TL-WR902AC which is one of few products capable of that. As a side note the "network expert" at Best Buy told me he'd never heard of a travel router and tried to sell me a 4G pocket hotspot.
-1 star because the shelves looked pretty poorly stocked in general and the first person I asked was quite rude.
Once a magic business this is a store with little stock, employees that don't help and empty of customers and any energy. I won't go back. Such a shame from what this chain of limited stores was only four years ago. Online has killed this retail business.
I ordered one open box 4k tv samsang, they called me said it is demo model and said they can replace it with another model. When I go their TV apartment a person said he found one open box for me. Then I asked him where is demo one, he repeat this is last one, open box, ...
Very sad that this place has gone down so much. Rude, lazy employees who couldn't care less to help. It used to be THE place to go for a shopping experience. Now it's like a Dollar store, except Fry's employees are not customer focused.
Avoid this if it's not life or death. Noting available ever even though it's online that's it's available. You will be wasting your time coming to this just to find out that it's not available and it's updated online. Hard to find help in this dump, even after that they don't know shit.
Went here to buy a power adapter for my Surface Pro. Oh how low employee standards have fallen. I had the cashier price match Amazon on the adapter. What followed was a three stooges episode of three different people fumbling around in front of me for TWENTY MINUTES to get the price match completed. The only reason I didn't complain at the time was that I felt everyone behind the counter was either a senior citizen or special needs person. I didn't even get involved. I just stood there for twenty minutes watching three people with no idea what they were doing, this included a supervisor who looked like a 18 year old special needs boy and a manager. They did not apologize for my wait, they barely acknowledged I was there during those twenty minutes. I'll miss Frys when it is gone but I feel like that can't be far off after today's experience.
