Worst customer service. I was looking for a portable voice recorded and no one knew where it was. they just kept directing me back and forth around the place for a solid 30 mins before I got really annoyed and had to yell at someone to find a knowledgeable person. I would not recommend someone to go here unless they absolutely need something in an emergency

Keeping in mind that they've got some of their stock very depleted, due to possibly going out of business, I still gave them five stars because they're photography department is incredibly well stocked and they have a ton of selection in the camera and camcorders with excellent pricing

This is my favorite Fry's location in the bay area. It has a great layout and selection of electronics as opposed to the pyramid Fry's in San Jose. The reason it is getting 4 not 5 stars is because of the harsh sales tactics used by every worker here. That is fairly common with Fry's, but it's particularly bad here. If you go to buy something and they dont have it, they WILL try to sell you another model that you might not be as happy with. Take it with a grain of salt.

Very helpful staff. The staff here is awesome. They helped find what i needed. They matched the internet price. Much much better experience at this store than the palo alto store. Will always pick this store over anything else.

Very very large selection of pretty much everything under the sun. This place has practically everything other than fresh groceries it seems like. Prices are fair though many of the products are not name brands. Plenty of selection on everything computer related which is great! Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are. They also run out of some items pretty regularly so might be worth calling ahead.

Ok selection, nice staff. Shame they have so many empty shelves these days. I always enjoyed exploring the store but it seems I ll have to do that online now. It s sad seeing so many empty shelves in every one of their stores these days. Reminders of a bygone era. I remember when I use to browse Circuit City and CompUSA for cool finds, even RadioShack and BestBuy use to carry a much better selection. I suppose it s only a matter of time for brick and mortar electronics stores.

Drifted down a lot since the heydays in the early 2000s. Today it looked like it was raised, with a lot of shelves empty. Dold out of a lot of common items. Nostalgia is wearing off.

I was looking for two specific video adapter cables but found items stocked in the wrong places. The two people manning that section of the store were incredibly helpful and found just what I needed in minutes.

Make sure you know what you want before you go and be ready to get a price match.
The prices are higher than you can get online. A little different would be ok because they do need to keep the lights on, but a lot of times they are vastly over priced.
Next, make sure you know what you want and do not ask for advice. I have yet to hear a rep actually know what they are talking about. I couldn't help myself but to step in and help a customer because the associate was recommending a memory card that wasn't even compatible with the video camera the customer was buying. Today I was went on to buy a specific video card that I didn't want to wait on shipping for. Asus strix 1080ti. The associate tried to sell me a different one because "it was basically the same thing." Lol, msi 1080 was the card. Similar in name sure, but definitely not the same. After that when they didn't have what I wanted he wasn't very friendly, oh well.
And lastly, the selection and cleanliness is not that great. You will notice what I mean if you visit there.

Went to buy a cheapo wireless keyboard and mouse combo plus a mouse pad, marked as 25$ and 3$ respectively, rung up as 15$ and 0.45$. it works great, came with batteries, and let's you use a part of it as a base for Legos for some reason. Haha. Why they keep that place open is beyond me, but I like going. Lots of toys, a cafe and no people. Haha.

Huge store with very wide selection of electronics, computers, TVs, appliances, etc.
Very good pricing on selected items on sale.
The drawback is sales people there can be a but pesky and no always the friendliest or most knowledgeable. I find the sales associates at my local Best Buy to be more amiable and better up-to-date on key product features and trade-offs. So if you know just what you want, Fry's can be a good place to buy it.

With such a huge selection of various products, it's best if you know exactly what you want before you go into the store. Staff is helpful with finding General items but they may not know of a specific thing you need if you cannot describe it well.

They have not been wearing masks until very recently. They have been giving me paper bags at curbside pickup which must be 20 years old. The paper bags disintegrate, leaving you holding only a handful of paper, while your expensive electronic test equipment smashes to the ground. Took 20 minutes for my curbside pickup! Had to stand in the ONE line waiting for 10 minutes, then another 10 for them to find and deliver the merchandise to me. I asked the people in front of me how long it took to get their stuff, and they each said it took about 20 minutes. 3 times! Buy from Amazon.

Horrifying experience. After walking through eerily spacious aisles and witnessing staff members loudly arguing I had to wait 20 minutes for any form of assistance with my purchase. When finally someone emerged from this zombieland and briefly established eye contact it was only to let me know they did not work in that department and point me to one of their coworkers on the other side of store, strolling hastily in the opposite direction and disappearing in the canyon of shelves and appliances before ever been seen again. If you are looking to buy something just drive to the Palo Alto store for unquestionably more professional help and an overall more productive trip.

I love Frys. I use to come here 10 years back and this place was poppin. Not so much these days. With the rise of the river and internet shopping, this place is almost completely empty but it's definitely not a shell of its old self. In fact it probably has more things than before. These days they do same day local deliveries before 3 PM and price match internet competitors. Their prices have always been very competitive and they carry a plethora of small electronic components for the hobbyist. The one thing that I'm missing are the historical silicon valley devices they use to have on display as part of their theme.
