Seems like they going out of business but that just means it's a good opportunity to strike a deal
Came here twice for batteries now in a 2 year span and there are none to be found. In this day and age where companies are closing up shop, it's amazing that they're still open for business. Don't waste your time at Fry's Sunnyvale, according to the returns person, they are "waiting for new vendors".
This is another Fry's that has great open box deals pretty good size store
Huge amount of electronics and Tech at great prices
I hope that somehow Fry's comes back to the supply store that it once was.
I called and got great information on exactly what I needed to do to fix my problem fast and save money in the process. There's no way I could not leave a review for how much I appreciate it,... Thank you Cal!!
(Sales Department) at the Fry's electronics!
Typical of a Fry's these days, lots of empty display pegs with no stock. Only worth visiting if you can't wait a few days for Amazon or Ebay to deliver and you are lucky and what you want is in stock and not a return with the bogus QC checked sticker.
One stop shop for electronics. I have preferred Frys over Bestbuy.
Has alot of electronics, toys and all the new things great for buying modern items!
Great that they can price match but they could do with friendlier staff
Definitely one of the nicer Fry's stores. The inventory is impressive... it's a good place for networking (home networking and low-end pro managed), CCTV, car audio, UPSes, home theater, and small appliances. This store has an impressive selection of "maker" electronics (Arduino and similar). The staff is helpful without being pushy.
Service was iffy, I had to wait around 15 minutes to get my processor. There was no line or anyone in front of me at the desk... I was also sent here after going to three other frys, all of which did not have any i5-6500's left.
It's like walking into a time capsule - a sad sad time capsule. Whole aisles of shelves are bare. Barely a soul there on a Saturday afternoon. If it weren't for the section with the latest game consoles you'd think no one had been in the store since the early 90s.
Ah, that christmas music is so nice to hear in November...
Drove over an hour to get here from the Pleasant Hill store. Was told that they had three of our item in stock. Once we got to the store, all they had was one open box item! Word of advice....be sure you double check and ask to place the item on hold before driving out to another store.
The parking lot is terribly large. Staff look bored but are uninterested in helping.
Customer service was great from the start to the end of my purchase
Love going to this place for Electronic Flee Market.
Very cool store that made grandkids happy and frustrated the parents (kids having too much fun).
Fry's rocks! They got everything I need in the electric department and at the best price.
I didn't hate this place. It was just so sad. The parking lot use to be very full, now it is an empty ghost car lot. The shelves use to be bringing full of product, now there are very few that are full. Portions of the store are even blocked off. The employees are still very helpfull. I ask "what r we doing to our country? I want to try my shoes on before I buy them, they might hurt my feet!" I like going to the store and seeing the happy faces spending money as opposed to my pkg being delivered elsewhere! Have you been there, where is my pkg?
Fair selection of products (though their selection of DVDs is pretty bad--it used to be good at one time), pricing's OK, but have the WORST employees on the face of the earth working there. The WORST, bar none. They don't even bother to hide their contempt for the customers, they handle merchandise so roughly when stocking items, it's not surprising that so many "new" items are damaged once they're brought home, etc. One psychotic maniac Fry's employee damned near ran me off the road just getting into the parking-lot one day. Other Fry's locations are preferable to this place for all these reasons.
Fry's is like a candy store to a techno nerd like myself.
Good selection of all advanced and basic electronics needs. They match price to any online store like amazon.
Not what it used to be but still convenient to pick up what you need now!
Hope they stay in business. Had very good deals here, but you can notice that online stores are giving them a hard time.
Most helpful Fry's in the whole state. The associates and management staff handled all my ridiculously tedious requests and went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of.
Not everyday does someone buy every microSD card on their shelves, or ask them to check every surrounding store. They even setup a perpetual order for me with a locked in price. They rock.
Fry's is the mother of all retail electronics stores. All the latest models of consumer electronics are all here under one roof, which makes comparison shopping easy. For the hobbyist and DIYer there is a huge selection of specialty tools and kits and all the parts, components, hardware and other necessary to fix, repair or replace just about any electrical gadget. This place really gets my geek juices going.
If it's unusual you can count on Frys to ha e it stocked.
The store has been around a long time and seems to be showing its age a little in terms of upkeep of the building, the effort fort the kinds of displays and arrangements set up for the products, and the general availability of staff to help with selection or checkout, but it is still large enough to have most tech related items you might need. The promo code deals they try to make you sign up for can be pretty attractive, but not all the sales people will be helpful enough to point out which of your items might be on promo; you'll just have to pay attention to the emails if you want in.
The return policy is fairly generous though, so that can be handy for occasions where tech fails on you quickly.
all your tech needs can be found here... just don't count with good customer service, ignore dusty aisles
Been going here for 20 years. It's not as busy as years ago, but I still want to support them.
They have everything IF you can find it. Sometimes you can get help, sometimes they will just point. Be prepared to make several trips. You seldom get what you want the first time.
Shelves in dissarray, some almost empty. Not one person asked if I needed assistance. Cavernous, cold dingy atmosphere. Got what they didn't have on Amazon. Go figure.
Huge, really huge choice. Found all I needed, and much more. Seems from single resistors to an electric bikes everything that is operated with electricity ...
What can you say, service is pretty much non-existent but that is not what we go there for.
Has pretty much everything I need when looking for electronics but lacking in photo department. No dslr's on display and doesn't appear to have full frame models of the brands I'm interested in.
Spend entirely too much of my paycheck there..great store too
Nice and big, just would love more customer service representatives around for help
Greatest and biggest shop for electronics and has plenty of options
Asking for advise was a mixed bag, one young employee knowledgeable and very helpful, the other helped but his attitude was as notas engaged.
Went to buy a TV here that I had found on the Fry's website. Pretty poor experience really. There wasn't any staff who was knowledgeable about the TV's themselves. The prices they quoted were higher than those listed on their own website. When I showed them the website price they agreed to "match" the prices from their own website.
I ended up buying the TV without the Fry's warranty or the randomly expensive cables. That was because the TV was at a great price and not Fry's sales staff!
Fry's used to be the place for latest technology. It seems like the store is this last independent consumer electronic chain is going south.. Sad
I wanted to write a quick review here to say my appreciation for the awesome help that Mr. Polin Sok, manager of the Computer Components department, did for re-building my custom system. I had to replace an incompatible motherboard+CPU set that I had purchased and to make up for it he personally spent about two hours with me at the technician's desk to test the replaced parts and make sure everything works right before I leave the store. He also did a great job in giving me good deals to keep me a happy customer. I really loved the service. Thank you.
Great place to see all the stuff you're interested in in person. Nice prices on accessories too.
I'm in the market for a new DSLR/Mirrorless. Stopped by here and was shocked at how empty the shelves are and lack of selection they carry. I remember Fry's used to be the spot to go to for all of your electronic needs, but it seems like things have changed substantially in the past few years.
Seemed emptier than usual. Maybe remodeling or going out of business ? Not sure but sad to see the store like this after coming here for years.
I usually get all my electronics here and also some of the home appliances.
Many shelves were left vacant... it wasn't like this before...
Rarely find what you are looking for and almost never get help to correct that issue
I have always liked this store. Competitive prices, very well stocked, clean, organized, and customer service is getting better.
Lots of parking.
people work there try to sell you with fixed price as they can get more comissions. i guy works there told me he sold a printer for 300 bucks but it only worth 199. the other day i bought parts for my new desktop and that day they dont have win7 os. they helped me said he would call me as soon they get any. NO CALL FOREVER. another car stereo unit i bought there sucks. spend 120 the other day the price tag drop to 50. recently it drop to 30. i miss our old microcenter. this shop is a joke
As I am from the east coast I wish we had one, all you could ever want in one store.
Like all other Fry's they have everything electronic if you know what you want. People who work there are only there to take your money, no clue about anything else.
Awesome products and prices. Eduardo was the most helpful person I've ever met.
Great selection, however, some employees are slow and unprofessional, take a long time to get a product prepared, didn't follow the rule the if after coupon price still higher than competitors, price match for 110% difference rule. Real disappointment!
Great selection of electronics and all things computers. They also have a descent 12 inch vinyl selection.
There is a reason why this place is going out of business. Hardly anyone working here. Maybe two people with the cashier included. Hardly any current merchandise.
Great electronics store. Lots of parking with some electric chargers to boot.
Usually pretty fair prices. But depending on the product it can be a fair bit higher than online.
Great return policy, but often those returns make it back to shelves instead of being rma'd. It's always a gamble getting a returned product, but at least the discounts are usually fair.
Stock can be inconsistent though so call ahead if you need something specific.
Friendly staff. Well stocked. Large parking lot with EV chargers too.
Did not have what I wanted even though I called first then tried to bate and switch me
What has become of this once-great retailer and Silicon Valley icon is saddening.
I first shopped Fry's Electronics in the late 1980s, when it was a single store in Sunnyvale, and half groceries. It became an amazing place to see and buy the latest technology. As it expanded, its other locations were decorated with fun themes.
Over the decades, it became clear that salespeople were hungry for commissions and customer service got progressively worse, to the point that employees harassed customers to get credit for helping when it wasn't earned or deserved. When I knew what I wanted, I avoided the employees, and increasingly the stores.
The Sunnyvale store is the flagship and now in its third location, a cavernous building that was the former Singer Link flight simulator plant.
Now much of the store is empty and the place looks doomed.
Goodbye Fry's Electronics.
So weird. Like going back in time. Decent selection of everything from motherboards to fridges.
Good Collection of Electronics store in Bay Area. I wish they survive because of online Giants
5 stars of electronic dreams. 1 star for rude, suspicious, no service characters that are hired by Fry's. I don't understand the problem.
