Consistently offline. Outages every second week fo...

Consistently offline. Outages every second week for 10 months and never restored in quicker than 48 hours. Lines are fine, infrastructure is terrible. I should never have upgraded from Telkom VDSL. If you use Frogfoot you also need a mobile wifi account for all the downtime. This post via Vodafone :/
Unlke other companies you don't get reimbursed for downtime either. These people will cripple a business in a few months and they just don't care.

Edit: Back up now after 24 hours. Problem is it's never only me it's the whole suburb that goes down. The infrastructure is only a year old can only hope it gets better. Thanks for the responding though much appreciated.

Internet was fine and working as it should be until you came and installed the fiber. I am paying for an 8mb line and only receiving an average speed of 2mb. It has been like this for the last 3 months after you did the installation. Service is disgustingly poor and i wont be recommending your company to anyone

We are having the mis fortune that they installed Fibre in our area, it has not gone live yet, everytime you phone they will find out and get back. Yesterday was the 6th time day later and yip you guessed right still waiting for the promised call back

Edit: 14/8/2019: After being referred back to the person I had been dealing with all along, the contractor finally came out today and ....could not install fiber because the conduit had not been placed in the correct location for wifi signals to reach the house. So he will come back and try again later this week to extend the cables from the original end point.

According to him, the end point should not have been placed where it is. No concerns about signal impact were raised with us when the end point location was finalised with the original contractors who laid the cables initially.

It's been 4 months since being notified that our complex is fiber ready and me submitting an order form, and I still don't have fiber.

Edit: 18/07/2019: Frogfoot has replied below and I have forwarded them all the relevant email correspondence for their info.

Cannot recommend. Very bad experience. Complex was not fiber-ready as claimed as they had failed to connect the complex fibers to the external fibers.

Weak business connections with ISP, lead to me placing an order for an ISP router in April, and I still don't have it as of 16 July 2019 due to communication problems between Frogfoot and Vodacom. I had to restart the order process from scratch all over again.

They had to come back and repair the brickwork they lifted to put the cables in our complex after the concrete they used was sub-standard and flaked off. Really not a good experience.

This company is ridiculous , non existent service. When you finally get hold of someone they will not help you. We are now waiting 3 WEEKS with NOTHING!!!!! Shocking. Somebody else needs to take over Burgundy Estate........SHO!!!!!

There are not actually words to describe this company. Frogfoot Networks is successful in taking incompetence and inefficiency to levels not previously explored. There is nothing that actually works. Technical skills are non-existent. Customer communication has not been activated. The call centre is useless. Need I continue? STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!

After reading through some of these reviews, it becomes even more apparent that Frogfoot has no idea.
My installation was done 2 months ago in Yzerfontein and what LOAD OF RUBBISH.
After several emails back and forth to my ISP, I have decided that this is enough. NOT INTERESTED.
One gets the idea that Frogfoot is running on a shoestring BUDGET and can't afford to go back and correct anything.
Screw fibre, I will put my LTE back and use that instead.

Very unhelpful and unfriendly. I received no service with the fibre that they have installed. Been without internet for 3 days and they are not reacting on the internet provider or the client. Very concerned about protocol, but not about service.

Starting to regret choosing frogfoot , seeing all the bad reviews and waiting to long for installations. The building has the last mile fibre boxes installed. even got the router from my ISP. but frogfoot hasn't even accepted the order from the ISP yet. Why say fibre is available in the area if it takes this long to get it sorted?? Friends who live 7minutes away from me got fibre installed within 3 days of ordering from another fibre provider. but here im paying more for less and waiting longer........

Constant internet connectivity issues with Frogfoo...

Constant internet connectivity issues with Frogfoot. They have made working from home a nightmare. There seems to be no accountability on their part. Constant maintenance either planned or unplanned. Please acknowledge your infrastructure issues or at least offer a reasonable explanation. Your paying customers deserve to know that much. What is the extent of the issues and by when do you plan to resolve them?

It's been a week since our fibre line was damaged. No response from frogfoot. Difficult to get through and when you did you are referred to your internet service provider whose hands seem to be tied as well . Don't ask for a manger either - unless you love their choice of music !

Sorry to say but I started off all excited with my fibre connection, and dumped my Telkom ADSL.
But since the install (Glencairn area) we have had umpteen days of no connection- always some story about a breakage, and technicians dispatched .
Definitely not recommended

Frogfoot will not get my business - their customer service sucks, they do not respond to Hellopeter nor to these Google reviews. Abraham van der Merwe and his directors are unreachable, seemingly disinterested and disconnected from their customers' experience.

I've waited a whole month for fibre to be installed in our complex along with a tally of phonecalls between from Frogfoot and Afrihost. Furthermore, they have just informed me that the infrastructure still needs to be installed in our area, even though I explicitly asked Afrihost and Frogfoot if the area is supported before ordering a 200mb line with them.

They have completely handed responsibility off to resellers and have no interest in providing direct support to customers. Also, the lack of notification or progress updates are pervasive ways of treating excited clients with contempt. I was really optimistic after seeing the immense marketing and effort that went into the installation of fibre lines in Port Elizabeth, but after my month of no service or engagement, I need to cancel my line and pursue another service provider.

Add Frogfoot to the list of contemptuous, anti-customer companies of South Africa. In 2020, it is simply unacceptable to have service at this level. I understand that demand may be high, but simply inconveniencing customers to save money on client engagement is gross and should be a massive red flag for new customers. I truly urge those who are excited about fibre to either compromise with OpenServe or use LTE services until 5G eventually rolls around.

Your response is false as both Afrihost and Frogfoot confirmed the location was covered when I ordered the line. You only stated that it was not available (through an Afrihost consultant) after 4 weeks! Why is it so difficult to notify customers directly instead of inconveniencing them? Also, don't gaslight me for signing up prematurely. Your search query through Afrihost does not accurately reflect availability (as it stated it was available in my area), so me not knowing it was not covered is a lazy, unprofessional shift of blame and responsibility.

No Stars!! We go out for a lovely morning, only to return home to find that we cannot access our house! While we have been out, whoever Frogfoot outsource their work to has just gone ahead and dug up the drive and the verge. We cannot get our car into the driveway so we can unload our shopping. I have to climb over a pile of dirt to access the Pedestrian gate.

I don't care if we are not home, or if your equipment does not work, it does not give you the right to deny us access to our property on a Saturday afternoon!!!! Then to have your compactor booming out at 4.30 does not make the situation any better.

Really Frogfoot, someone should be monitoring the standard of your outsourced work. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!

Literally the worst customer service I have ever had. They dont answer their phones and they dont respond to your support emails. My ISP is desperately trying to help me but the Frogfoot team are so disorganised they dont knwo what is going on. Avoid and rather use another line provider

A shame that most of the 1 star ratings are for trenches being dug up and not actually a companies services. Those are subcontractors who do that, yes Frogfoot employ them, but it must be difficult to manage all of them. Fiber is important to get this country moving forward. The trenches will be closed and your grass will grow back, so chill out and stop being so backwards thinking! My only worry is that Frogfoot is taking on too much work and aren't getting their current work done. Our area should've been live by the 1st of Jan and we are still waiting. But we are patient and hope you will improve on this moving forward.

Pathetic service !! My internet has been down for 4 days now and I keep having to follow up with my Isp with what is going on, as nothing has happened as yet. There are always endless problems with Frogfoot and unfortunately I have to use them in the Sunningdale area.

Service is pathetic! Im giving you ZERO stars.1 star is way to generous. My wifi is off for 4 days now. When i called the call centre they first said 24 to 48 hrs. I called back then they say 3 days. Not enough urgency! No one calls back. I will not recommend this network to anyone!!

Communicating with them is a constant hastle and staff aren't helpful, especially when there are issues. We are currently penalised for someone else's failure to provide sufficient notice of move (not cancellation, just a move), so we're without connection for a week (which was also just a move 2 blocks away). I have been struggling for 2 months to get any reaction. I have a 10mb Capped fiber line from frogfoot with Afrihost being the ISP. I specifically took the capped package in order to have no throttle/shaping on my speed. I occasionally get my 10mb up and download speed. 90 % of the time I have a 0.75mb download and a 2mb upload. I have contacted Afrihost numerous times and all they do is "reset" the line on their side. Whatever that means....it is only a temporary solution as after 2 hours....speed is down again. At my previous house I was with Afrihost and had the exactly the same package, with not 1 problem in 12 months!! Thus I know it is not the ISP, but the actual fibre lines is the problem. I am writing this because I feel that you are not delivering on your side of the deal. I am paying of 10mb fibre, but I am receiving edge.... I am living in Welgevonden Estate in Stellenbosch. Please take action ASAP! I actually know of a few people that has problems with their frogfoot fibre lines in the estate with different ISP's.

Also, if you would like evidence, please contact me as i have a lot of photos of ping tests and speed tests.

I have been trying to activate my Afrihost fibre for almost a month now. Every time I get told that Frogfoot needs to Reprovision the line. 10 consultants over email/whatsapp/telephone and 2 reprovision tickets later and I still cannot activate the Fibre. Now I'm phoning Frogfoot directly and we get a recording. Shocking service. Everyday they are costing me more money. I just want to activate my fibre. Do your job. Reprovision the line.

Only fibre provider in my area, great if you have never had a line but if something happens after its installed they are... and after 4 weeks of trying, I am sure now... completely useless at delivering customer satisfaction. Phone loops, emails bounce only chat works, and even then, your lucky to get a response, which consists mainly of 'please contact your ISP'

If the physical infrastructure is yours then take some responsibility or at least have systems in place that let ISP's give good service.

There are gaping holes in how problems are handled here unless perhaps they are absolutely bog standard. Clearly nobody has sat down to try and setup systems that deal with anything other than installing at a new customer's premises.

A real pity.

Further to the response below, they have outlined on Facebook this does not solve the issue at all it's just kicking it down the road because you can't pick up a phone or affect meaningful support on behalf of your customers in a reasonable amount of time.

I have never had such bad service. I have been hung up on 3 times. Your agents are RUDE to say the least. I have been waiting a MONTH now to get our internet sorted. They keep telling me that they need a proof of address which we have sent them a DOZEN TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPENNING THERE?????? NOTHING!!!!!!

Nothing but hassles for the 3 years I've been with them. Unfortunately no alternatives in my area.

Year 1: Never get close to the speeds I was paying for, constant back and forth between ISP and FrogFoot. FrogFoot are adamant nothing is wrong with the line. ISP set up an SDWAN solution that solves the problem, as UDP traffic is unaffected. Turns out that it was a misconfiguration on FrogFoot side, and once sorted, SDWAN solution taken out of the mix, speeds are good.
Year 2: Frequent disconnects, issues logged with ISP, FrogFoot claim nothing wrong with my line, "light levels are good". Blames ISP. After fighting for a year to get the speeds I pay for, decided to just lived with it.
Year 3: This year has been bad, made worse by WFH during Covid. Frequent disconnects - mostly due to maintenance overruns or outtages in the area. Downtime for 12 hours recently.
Current: Report packet loss a month or two ago. The usual "Nothing wrong with the line" for a week, packet loss improves by itself. Last week, heavy packet loss between 17:00 and 22:00 every day that affects browsing, streaming and most importantly video chats / online meetings. Reported to ISP 4 days ago, and they are still waiting on feedback from FrogFoot. No doubt "there is nothing wrong with the line, light levels are good"

Pathetic service and zero accountability. Been waiting for a simple line activation for 2 weeks now. Zero response to support emails, no one answers the phone, and zero response to our ISP who has tried again and again to find out what's happening with our line. It's astounding that a business functioning at this level is even allowed to do business in the marketplace. Get your act together.

What a disaster this company leaves all over Franschhoek is beyond words. Open trenches, leaving everything lying around for weeks without anyone working on it. Cutting holes in front of driveways so owners cannot get in and out their own properties. Everything they leave is a mess. Start cutting trenches at 10pm and only stop at 11.30 pm. No respect for the neighbourhood they want to do business with. Would never recommend - just for showing so much disrespect for the Village.

Been months of begging and complaining to have my front garden restored as it was before they totally screwed it up and nothing. If you reading this and concerned they will do the same to you? Guess what? They will and also not show a care in the world about fixing it after, They might promise and tell you they will but they will not. Week after week promises and then silence, then you ask again, promises and silence..

They did come the one day, And I stood with them with instruction how the garden was before, yet they still didn't do as asked, then left before I could approve, Not only that I'm still waiting on my plants to be replaced that was promised. Just gets pushed aside.

No one is taking accountability for the work, each person you speak to passes blame or gives excuses. After months of this I am done.

I'm tired of being civil, You guys screwed up my garden and just a week after I had it redone and planted new purchased plants which are gone due to you.

I feel like finding the owners of this company and starting ripping up their garden so they know what it feels like.

If you reading this and in some capacity able to stop them installing in your area, I highly suggest doing so. I've spoken to my ward officer and she tells me they a nightmare too and flooded with complaints as well.

Out of principle I'll make sure to never use frogfoot for my fibre. I have octotel and openserv in my area, Octotel was also not great with their installers, but they did come and fixed the issue after, unlike Frogfoot.

Not only is there maintenance every week with 12 to 24 hours of down time, I placed an order through frogfoot October 2019 when my status was preordered for a month I cancelled online. In November I ordered a frogfoot line through axxess. They came and installed in Jan 2020 been using the fibre for a whole month and paid now frogfoot put us offline because our "order" has not been activated yet, after 2 hours speaking to axxess it was stated that frogfoot got a cancellation NOW and put us offline. No after hour numbers, nothing. Even axxess was trying to get a hold of frogfoot for 30 min while I was on hold, they said "Its almost 5 so frogfoot won't answer" love to pay for things I can't even use

It is so unfortunate that clients have to resort to writing out 1 star reviews to try get Frogfoots attention.

I have been trying to migrate my line from my old ISP to my new one for 5 days now and have had countless discussions with my new ISP support to try sort this out but as so many others they are waiting for frogfoot. I cannot understand how activating a line can take this long.

This is especially frustrating because in this current COVID climate internet is so vital.

UPDATE:
I did check with the old ISP and they gave me misinformation when I cancelled. So I will wait the 30 days and see afterward. But I still dont understand why this communication just couldn't be sent to my new ISP when requesting the transfer.

Don't answer phone calls, don't reply to emails and just refuse to help. I have had better experience from Telkom which is saying something; in fact I look forward to paying my taxes every month rather than having to deal with this company. Stay far away from them!

We can't complain about service because there is no service. We broke through the cable because you installed the cable to close to the surface. This was pointed out to your crew but it was ignored at the time. We have been complaining for more than a week already but there Is no response. My daughter works from home but she can't work because there is no internet. FIX it up already.

I am so disappointed with Frogfoot/Webafrica combination. Last week my fibre was down because of disconnecting without any reason. On Wednesday is was back up and from yesterday I am down again. If you speak to Webafrica they blame frogfoot if you try to send mails you get reply from Frogfoot is is Webafrica. We are playing the blame game and I have no fibre which has gone up from this month! It is really unprofessional. I am so disappointed in these companies.

Please do not waste your time with these people, the say they don't work with the clients directly but they put their contact details on the site. Scary thing is when I signed up with them they were very happy to chat to me but now I have a problem and the hardware they installed is faulty they don't deal with clients directly. If you don't want do deal with the clients then why don't you take your contact info off the website and close your website cause this is the worst service I've ever experienced.

Possibility the worst internet connection available. Promised 10mbs up, only available 6 to 8 hours a day, intermittent connection, causing havoc with work zoom meetings etc. And Nb capped at 100mb, so false promises.

Frogfoot has been in my neighbourhood in Parklands for the past 2 /3 weeks. The mess they have left behing is beyond shocking. Pavements have bricks that are not put back, sand in the street, lawns that are covered in sand. Its like a war zone and so so untidy. I certainly will not be using their services so its really a waste to put their fibre infront of my house. They have been MIA for the past few days and we dont know if that means they are done or what? @ Frogfoot fibre your team is shocking and so untidy and unprofessional. Please come and fix the mess you made to our yards. Octotel was here first and we hardly noticed them - and they fixed up the mess made and left our front yards immaculate as they found them.

I ve been trying to get hold of someone to assist me. The reception put me through to the technicians and the phone is just ringing. It s 22 min already.

Question is; I live in a free standing property down a short ally. The box is installed in the road which is less that 2 meters from my Neighbour in front. My distance is more than 50 meters, meaning with Frogfoot s 30 meters free, i still have to coff up R2000 rand to have my installation.

My neighbour living next to me got his installation for FREE with VUMATEL. WHY???

Extremely unreliable network and can't even get updates on calls logged to them.
Apparently the new normal is to have your internet down for days on end and not be able to get an ETA or even just an update.

OpenServe has same day response or latest next day. At least I got feedback within an hour of logging issues to OpenServe without having to try getting updates through an ISP.

Negative stars. Frogfoot are installing fiber in Beacon Bay East London. Horrifically untidy, endless water pipe and electrical cable strikes, terrible trench compaction (if any), concrete driveways are not reinstated, but the old cut out concrete blocks are just placed back, messy cleanup and a pitched "storage yard" on a plot adjacent to our complex without any consent or even a courtesy call to us about it. As a result, vagrants are being attracted to see what can be stolen, bringing unwanted eyes onto our property. Contractors are unruly, driving recklessly around the streets shouting at each other as they pass by. Inadequate responses to email complaints. Can only imagine what the connection quality will be like once done...

So far I've been extremely happy with the ISP, internet is stable for the better part. Unfortunately though I made a mistake yesterday by changing my DNS server and now my download and upload is inconsistent and quite slow. Can someone maybe assist me in providing the ISPs DNS server?

Frogfoot are putting fibres down outside my house in Fishhoek ,Ninth Avenue today. They must have cut the electrical wiring because I have been without electricity most of the day. Very annoying. I had someone interested to clean and now gave to pay her again to come and clean.

Absolutely pathetic customer service. The service team never answers any call transferred to them. Asked to speak to a manager, and apparently we (customers) are not allowed to speak to managers and must continue to hold...This has to be the most shambolic operation in existence!
